Phase relations in the system Bi2O3-WO3 were studied from 500° to 1100°C. Four intermediate phases, 7Bi2O3· WO3, 7Bi2O3· 2WO3, Bi2O3· WO3, and Bi2O3· 2WO3, were found. The 7B2O · WO3 phase is tetragonal with a 0= 5.52 Å and c 0= 17.39 Å and transforms to the fcc structure at 784°C; 7Bi2O3· 2WO3 has the fcc structure and forms an extensive range of solid solutions in the system. Both Bi2O3· WO3 and Bi2O3· 2WO3 are orthorhombic with (in Å) a 0= 5.45, b 0=5.46, c 0= 16.42 and a 0= 5.42, b 0= 5.41, c 0= 23.7, respectively. Two eutectic points and one peritectic exist in the system at, respectively, 905°± 3°C and 64 mol% WO3, 907°± 3°C and 70 mol% WO3, and 965°± 5°C and 10 mol% WO3.  相似文献

Grain growth in a high-purity ZnO and for the same ZnO with Bi2O3 additions from 0.5 to 4 wt% was studied for sintering from 900° to 1400°C in air. The results are discussed and compared with previous studies in terms of the phenomenological kinetic grain growth expression: G n— G n0= K 0 t exp(— Q/RT ). For the pure ZnO, the grain growth exponent or n value was observed to be 3 while the apparent activation energy was 224 ± 16 kJ/mol. These parameters substantiate the Gupta and Coble conclusion of a Zn2+ lattice diffusion mechanism. Additions of Bi2O3 to promote liquidphase sintering increased the ZnO grain size and the grain growth exponent to about 5, but reduced the apparent activation energy to about 150 kJ/mol, independent of Bi2O3 content. The preexponential term K 0 was also independent of Bi2O3 content. It is concluded that the grain growth of ZnO in liquid-phase-sintered ZnO-Bi2O3 ceramics is controlled by the phase boundary reaction of the solid ZnO grains and the Bi2O3-rich liquid phase.  相似文献

Grain growth of ZnO during the liquid-phase sintering of binary ZnO–Bi2O3 ceramics has been studied for Bi2O3 contents from 3 to 12 wt% and sintering from 900° to 1400°C. The results are considered in combination with previously published studies of ZnO grain growth in the ZnO–Bi2O3 system. For the Bi2O3 contents of the present study, the rate of ZnO grain growth is found to decrease with increasing Bi2O3. Activation analysis, when combined with the results of similar analyses of the previous studies, reveals a change in the rate-controlling mechanism for ZnO grain growth. Following a low-Bi2O3-content region of nearly constant activation energy values of about 150 kJ/mol, further Bi2O3 additions cause an increase of the activation energy to about 270 kJ/mol. consistent with accepted models of liquid-phase sintering, it is concluded that the rate-controlling mechanism of ZnO grain growth during liquid-phase sintering in the presence of Bi2O3 changes from one of a phase-boundary reaction at low Bi2O3 levels to one of diffusion through the liquid phase at about the 5 to 6 wt% Bi2O3 level and above.  相似文献

The rate of formation of NiAl2O4 by reaction between single crystals of NiO and Al2O3 can be described by k = 1.1 × 104 exp (−108,000 ± 5,000/ RT ) cm2/s. In NiO the behavior of D as a function of concentration supports the Lidiard theory of diffusion by impurity-vacancy pairs. A good fit of the theory to the experimental results was obtained by assuming that Al3+ ions diffuse as [AlNi· VNi]'pairs. The diffusion coefficient of pairs, Dp , obeys the equation 6.6 × 10−2 exp (−54,000 ± 3,000/ RT ) cm2/s. The free energy of association for pairs was calculated to range from 6.5 kcal/mol at 1789°C to 9.0 kcal/mol at 1540°C. The interdiffusion coefficients in the spinel showed a constant small increase with increasing concentration of Al3+ dissolved in the spinel.  相似文献

The phase relations in the pseudo-ternary system La2O3–SrO–Fe2O3 have been investigated in air. Isothermal sections at 1100° and 1300°C are presented based on X-ray diffraction and thermal analysis of annealed samples. Extended solid solubility was observed for the compounds Sr n +1− v La v Fe n O3 n +1−δ ( n =1, 2, 3, and ∞) and Sr1− x La x Fe12O19, while only limited solubility of La in Sr4− z La z Fe6O13±δ was observed. At high Fe2O3 content, a liquid with low La2O3 content was stable at 1300°C.  相似文献

Subsolidus phase relationships in the Ga2O3–In2O3 system were studied by X-ray diffraction and electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) for the temperature range of 800°–1400°C. The solubility limit of In2O3 in the β-gallia structure decreases with increasing temperature from 44.1 ± 0.5 mol% at 1000°C to 41.4 ± 0.5 mol% at 1400°C. The solubility limit of Ga2O3 in cubic In2O3 increases with temperature from 4.X ± 0.5 mol% at 1000°C to 10.0 ± 0.5 mol% at 1400°C. The previously reported transparent conducting oxide phase in the Ga-In-O system cannot be GaInO3, which is not stable, but is likely the In-doped β-Ga2O3 solid solution.  相似文献

Bi2O3 was added to a nominal composition of Zn1.8SiO3.8 (ZS) ceramics to decrease their sintering temperature. When the Bi2O3 content was <8.0 mol%, a porous microstructure with Bi4(SiO4)3 and SiO2 second phases was developed in the specimen sintered at 885°C. However, when the Bi2O3 content exceeded 8.0 mol%, a liquid phase, which formed during sintering at temperatures below 900°C, assisted the densification of the ZS ceramics. Good microwave dielectric properties of Q × f =12,600 GHz, ɛr=7.6, and τf=−22 ppm/°C were obtained from the specimen with 8.0 mol% Bi2O3 sintered at 885°C for 2 h.  相似文献

Phase relations in the spinel region of the system FeO-Fe2O3-Al2O3 were determined in CO2 at 1300°, 1400°, and 15000°C and for partial oxygen pressures of 4 × 10−7 and 7 × 10−10 atmospheres at 15OO°C. The spinel field extends continuously from Fe3O4-x to FeAl2O4+z.  相似文献

Bi2Sr2Ca2Cu2O8±δ-type compound thick films were exposed to oxygen-argon-gas mixtures (1% to 20% oxygen gas) at elevated pressures (up to 207 MPa) and temperatures (500° to 940°C) for times ranging from 5 to 96 h. At a sufficiently high oxygen fugacity and temperature, Bi2Sr2Ca1Cu2O8±δ decomposed via a solid-state reaction. Room-temperature X-ray diffractometry and electron probe microanalysis of decomposed films revealed the presence of Bi2(Sr,Ca)2-Cu1O6±θ ro-type compound, Bi2Sr2,Ca1O8±δ-type compound, and CuO. Bi2Sr2Ca1Cu2O8±δ decomposition was accompanied by a modest weight gain, which was consistent with an oxidation reaction. The solid-state decomposition reaction could be reversed by heat treatment of decomposed films at 860°C in pure, flowing oxygen at ambient pressure.  相似文献

New data are presented on the phase equilibria of the binary systems CaO-CuO and CaO-Bi2O3. Corrected compositions are reported for Ca.Bi6O13 and Ca2Bi2O5 and a new metastable high-temperature phase is reported for a composition near Ca6Bi7O16.5. The composition and decomposition temperatures for Ca1–x.CuO2 are given for both air and 1 atm of oxygen at 755 ± 5° and 835 ± 5°C, respectively.  相似文献

Measurements were made of temperature and ternary composition for coexisting liquid and crystalline phases on the air isobar in the system Fe2O3-Fe3O4-YFeO3 with particular regard to the stability range and compositional limits of yttrium iron garnet. Phase equilibrium relations were determined by conventional quenching techniques combined with measurements of loss in weight at the reaction temperature to locate true ternary compositions. The intersection of the air isobar with the ternary univariant boundary curve for coexisting magnetite, garnet, and liquid phases results in a eutectic-type situation at the composition Y0.27Fe1.73 O2.87 and 1469°± 2°C. A similar intersection of the isobar with the boundary curve for coexisting garnet, orthoferrite, and liquid phases gives rise to a peritectic-type reaction at 1555° 3°C. and Y0.44Fe1.56 O2.89 The yttrium iron garnet crystallizing from liquids within these temperature and composition limits contains up to 0.5 mole % iron oxide in excess of the stoichiometric formula in terms of the starting composition 37.5 mole % Y2O3, 62.5 mole % Fe2O3. At 1470° C. the garnet phase in equilibrium with oxide liquid contains 2 mole % FeO in solid solution. The small solubility of excess of iron oxide and partial reduction of the garnet phase in air are unavoidable during equilibrium growth from the melt.  相似文献

The electrical properties of Sr0.5Ba0.3TiO3 in the presence of Nb2O5 as a donor, 3Li2O · 2SiO2 as a sintering agent, and Bi2O3 as a dopant have been studied. When the compositions of the ceramics were 1 mol Sr0.7Ba0.3TiO3+ 0.5 mol% Nb2O5+ 2 mol% 3Li2O · 2SiO2+ 0.2 mol% Bi2O3, the ceramics were sintered at 1100°C and exhibited the following characteristics: apparent dielectric constant ɛ, 25000; loss factor tan δ, 2%; insulating resistivity ρj, 1010Ω· cm; variation of dielectric constant with temperature Δɛ/ɛ (−25° to +85°C), +10%, −14%. ɛ and tan δ show only small changes with frequency. The study shows this ceramic can be used in multilayer technology.  相似文献

Grain growth of ZnO during liquid-phase sintering of a ZnO-6 wt% Bi2O3 ceramic was investigated for A12O3 additions from 0.10 to 0.80 wt%. Sintering in air for 0.5 to 4 h at 900° to 1400°C was studied. The AI2O3 reacted with the ZnO to form ZnAl2O4 spinel, which reduced the rate of ZnO grain growth. The ZnO grain-growth exponent was determined to be 4 and the activation energy for ZnO grain growth was estimated to be 400 kJ/mol. These values were compared with the activation parameters for ZnO grain growth in other ceramic systems. It was confirmed that the reduced ZnO grain growth was a result of ZnAl2O4 spinel particles pinning the ZnO grain boundaries and reducing their mobility, which explained the grain-growth exponent of 4. It was concluded that the 400 kJ/mol activation energy was related to the transport of the ZnAl2O4 spinel particles, most probably controlled by the diffusion of O2- in the ZnAl2O4 spinel structure.  相似文献

A study of the solid solution of TiO2, Fe2O3, and Cr203 in mullite was made by measuring the changes in lattice parameters and unit-cell volume. Synthetic mullite (3O3-2SiO2) was reacted with up to 12 weight % of the oxides at temperatures ranging from 1000° to 17000C. The approximate minimum temperature required for the formation of solid solution was 12000C. for Fe203 and 1400°C. for Cr2O3 and TiO3. The maximum amount of solid solution found was 2 to 4% TiO2 at 1600°C., 10 to 12% Fe2Os at 1300°C., and 8 to 10% CrZO3 at 1600OC. Lattice parameters and unit-cell volumes for each solid solution series increased with increasing amounts of foreign oxide. There was good agreement between the calculated and observed increase in cell dimensions for the iron oxide series. Except in the case of titania, there was good agreement between X-ray data and petrographic observations.  相似文献

The Bi2O3–Nb2O5–NiO phase diagram at 1100°C was determined by means of solid-state synthesis, X-ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy. A ternary eutectic with a melting point below 1100°C was found to exist in the field between NiO, Bi2O3, and the end-member of the δBi2O3–Nb2O5 solid solution. The existence of the previously reported Bi3Ni2NbO9 phase was disproved. A pyrochlore homogeneity range around Bi1.5Ni0.67Nb1.33O6.25 was determined together with all the phase relations in this phase diagram.  相似文献

A study has been made of the binary system Fe2O2-TiO2 by solid-state reactions under dry and hydrothermal conditions. Under dry conditions only one binary compound, pseudobrookite (Fe2O3-TiO2), was formed and no evidence of solid solution on either side of this compound at temperatures up to 1200°C. was obtained. The system under these conditions is a simple binary with a single binary compound. Under hydrothermal conditions of 300° C. and 1200 Ib. per sq. in. the system is apparently also binary, with a single unstable compound closely resembling, if not identical with, the naturally occurring mineral arizonite (ferric metatitanate, Fe2(TiO3)3).  相似文献

Nucleation and crystal growth rates and properties were studied in a two-stage heat treatment process for Fe2O3-CaO-SiO2 glasses. Glass transition (Tg) and crystallization temperatures (T c ) for the glasses lay between about 612.0° and 710.0°C, and 858.5° and 905.0°C, respectively, and magnetite was the main crystal phase. For a glass of 40Fe2O3. 20CaO·40SiO2 (in wt%) the maximum nucleation rate was (68.6 ± 7) × 106/mm3·s at 700°C, and the maximum crystal growth rate was 9.0 nm/min1/2 at 1000°C. The mean crystal size of the magnetite increased from 30 to 140 nm with variation of nucleation and crystal growth conditions. The glass showed the maxima in saturation magnetization and coercive force, 212.1 × Wb/m2 and 30.8 × 103 A/m, when heat-treated for 4 h at 1000°C and 1050°C, respectively. The variation of the saturation magnetization could be quantitatively interpreted well in terms of the volume fraction of the magnetite, whereas that of the coercive forces could be explained only qualitatively in terms of the particle size of the magnetite. Hysteresis losses showed the maximum value of 1493 W/m3 when heat-treated at 1000°C for 4 h prenucleated at 700°C for 60 min, and increased linearly with increasing heat treatment time under a magnetic field up to 800 × 103 A/m.  相似文献

Fe3O4–BaTiO3 composite particles were successfully prepared by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis. A mixture of iron(III) nitrate, barium acetate and titanium tetrachloride aqueous solution were atomized into the mist, and the mist was dried and pyrolyzed in N2 (90%) and H2 (10%) atmosphere. Fe3O4–BaTiO3 composite particle was obtained between 900° and 950°C while the coexistence of FeO was detected at 1000°C. Transmission electron microscope observation revealed that the composite particle is consisted of nanocrystalline having primary particle size of 35 nm. Lattice parameter of the Fe3O4–BaTiO3 nanocomposite particle was 0.8404 nm that is larger than that of pure Fe3O4. Coercivity of the nanocomposite particle (390 Oe) was much larger than that of pure Fe3O4 (140 Oe). These results suggest that slight diffusion of Ba into Fe3O4 occurred.  相似文献

Phase stability, sinterability, and microwave dielectric properties of Bi2W2O9 ceramics and their cofireability with Ag, Cu, and Au electrodes have been investigated. Single-phase Bi2W2O9 powder was synthesized by solid-state reaction in air at 800°C for 3 days. X-ray powder diffraction data show Bi2W2O9 to have an orthorhombic crystal structure described by the noncentrosymmetric space group Pna 21, with lattice parameters a =5.4401(8), b =5.4191(8), c =23.713(4) Å. Ceramics fired at temperatures up to 865°C remain single-phase but above this temperature ferroelectric Bi2WO6 appears as a secondary phase. The measured relative permittivity of Bi2W2O9 ceramics increases continuously from 28.6 to 40.7 for compacts fired between 860° and 885°C. The bulk relative permittivity of Bi2W2O9 corrected for porosity was calculated as 41.3. Bi2W2O9 ceramics fired up to 875°C exhibit moderate quality factors, Q × f r, ∼7500–7700 GHz and negative temperature coefficient of resonant frequency, ∼−54 to −63 ppm/°C. Chemical compatibility experiments show Bi2W2O9 ceramics to react with both Ag and Cu electrodes, but to form good contacts with Au electrodes.  相似文献

The phase relations for the Sc2O3-Ta2O5 system in the composition range of 50-100 mol% Sc2O3 have been studied by using solid-state reactions at 1350°, 1500°, or 1700°C and by using thermal analyses up to the melting temperatures. The Sc5.5Ta1.5O12 phase, defect-fluorite-type cubic phase (F-phase, space group Fm 3 m ), ScTaO4, and Sc2O3 were found in the system. The Sc5.5Ta1.5O12 phase formed in 78 mol% Sc2O3 at <1700°C and seemed to melt incongruently. The F-phase formed in ∼75 mol% Sc2O3 and decomposed to Sc5.5Ta1.5O12 and ScTaO4 at <1700°C. The F-phase melted congruently at 2344°± 2°C in 80 mol% Sc2O3. The eutectic point seemed to exist at ∼2300°C in 90 mol% Sc2O3. A phase diagram that includes the four above-described phases has been proposed, instead of the previous diagram in which those phases were not identified.  相似文献
