Analytical techniques for performance evaluation of synchronous random access packet switching in code division multiple access (CDMA) systems are presented. Steady-state throughput characteristics using several packet generation models are obtained. A number of example random access CDMA systems are compared in terms of their throughput versus offered traffic and utilization-delay characteristics. Numerical results indicate that appropriate use of multiaccess coding can provide utilization-delay characteristics superior to that of ALOHA. System stability is evaluated using a general finite user model, and the dynamic behavior of some example random access CDMA schemes is investigated.  相似文献

We propose and demonstrate an upstream transmission scheme using a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) for arrayed waveguide grating (AWG)-based dense wavelength-division-multiplexed (DWDM) millimeter-wave fiber-radio systems and show improved link performance. In our scheme, unused optical carriers from the cyclic AWG in the downlink (DL) are tapped for uplink (UL) transmission. An SOA in conjunction with the AWG simultaneously amplifies the DL RF subcarriers and UL optical carrier, thus improving carrier-to-sideband ratio in the DL while also yielding an improved power budget for the UL. Our experimental results show that the proposed scheme can be a practical solution for future bidirectional wavelength interleaved DWDM transmission systems  相似文献

In this paper, the suitability of Slow FrequencyHopping Code Division Multiple Access (SFHCDMA) isevaluated for wireless local access applications.Investigations of the wireless channel indicate that frequency hopping mitigates the poorpropagation characteristics associated with low mobilitycommon to fixed wireless applications. Employingstatistical analysis and simulation models, it is shownthat the frequency hopped channel displays inherentfrequency diversity. Consequently, an FH architecture isresilient to the effects of intersymbol interferencearising from significant time dispersion frequently experienced in the wireless channel.Furthermore, interference diversity of SFH-CDMA resultsin a robust air interface technique. With simulationtechniques it is demonstrated that SFH-CDMA can support the medium rate service bearers (approximately1 Mbps) required for wireless local access, whilstproviding high capacity.  相似文献

This research aims to investigate the throughputs of DS-CDMA with S-ALOHA systems over Nakagami/Nakagami dual-path gain fading models with capture effects. The effects of fading on bit error rates (BERs) have been analysed by taking path gains into consideration. Due to the discrepancy between path gain for the desired signals and path gain for interferences, the BERs employed in our computations are the BERs of two different path gain models. Research indicates that the throughputs of DS-CDMA with S-ALOHA steadily increase as the parameters of fading signals m and the length of code N progressively enhance. Likewise, the throughputs of DS-CDMA with S-ALOHA gradually step-up as the value of capture ratio Q and the number of users K progressively step-down.  相似文献

在无线光通信系统中采用光码分多址(OCDMA)技术,可以充分利用其丰富带宽,提高系统性能。考虑背景光噪声、探测器噪声、多用户干扰和大气闪烁等影响因素,给出了二维无线光码分多址(2D-WOCDMA)系统模型,在该模型中采用了脉冲位置调制(PPM)和光纤布拉格光栅(FBG)编解码器。通过数值分析,详细讨论了该无线光通信系统的性能。结果表明,大气闪烁是影响二维无线光码分多址通信系统性能的重要因素,当其对数方差较大时,系统难以实现通信,需要采用诸如多用户检测、信道编码及阵列接收等技术提高系统的性能;二维无线光码分多址通信系统适合采用1550 nm波段;该通信系统还受背景光、雪崩光电二极管(APD)增益和调制消光比等因素的影响。  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate through simulation a proposed multi-functional optical interface incorporating an arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) that multiplexes multiple wavelength-interleaved dense-wavelength-division-multiplexed (DWDM) optical RF channels while simultaneously reducing intermodulation distortion (IMD) in fiber-radio systems incorporating optical single sideband with carrier (OSSB+C) modulation. The proposed optical interface is also able to simultaneously support multiple baseband transmission in an integrated wireless/wired heterogeneous access environment. We derive an analytical model and present a detailed analysis of the proposed interface to establish the viability of its operation and quantify performance limitations. Our results show that the proposed scheme is not dependent on the inherent characteristics of the optical carrier and a maximum IMD suppression of $> 9~{rm dB}$ can be achieved. The proposed interface was also investigated via simulation for a larger number of DWDM channels to establish the viability and subsequently quantify the overall performance of a heterogeneous millimeter-wave fiber-radio system with other wired-access infrastructure.   相似文献

A new algorithm is introduced which decodes code division multiple user communication signals. The algorithm makes use of the distinctive form or pattern of each signal to separate it from the composite signal created by the multiple users. Although the algorithm is presented in terms of frequency-hopped signals, the actual transmitter modulator can use any of the existing digital modulation techniques. The algorithm is applicable to error-free codes or to codes where controlled interference is permitted. It can be used when block synchronization is assumed, and in some cases when it is not. The paper also discusses briefly some of the codes which can be used in connection with the algorithm, and relates the algorithm to past studies which use other approaches to the same problem.  相似文献

线性组合码(LCC)具有码族容量大、误码率(BER)低等优点,是实现光码分多址(OCDMA)的一种有效手段。通过改变组成线性组合码的子码字数可以实现多速率传输。利用基于线性组合码的二维时域/频域光纤光栅编/解码器,建立了多速率随机接入实验平台,成功实现了双用户发送和双用户接收的双速率光码分多址数据通信。线性组合码选用素数跳频码(PC)为子码族,实验中取素数为3的素数码控制时间扩频和波长跳频。实验验证了线性组合码多速率光码分多址接入系统方案的可行性。  相似文献
