Abstract

Geostatistics is being used today for long-term mine planning (e.g., ore reserve estimation and mine model development) and for production scheduling (e.g., ore-waste selection) at many of metal mines in the U. S. Geostatistics is not as yet used for short-term mine planning, although geostatistics provides ideal tools to satisfy several goals of short-term mine planning.

This paper reviews the probable reasons for the lack of geostatistical applications in short-term mine planning and demonstrates the practicality of routine implementation of the University of Arizona's short-term mine planning system, if there exists either an economic or a political incentive to do so.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Accurate and frequent measurement of mine water quality is essential for timely management and regulatory requirements. At mines, traditional water sample collection practices are sometimes unsafe or impractical due to accessibility challenges. Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based remote water sampling has benefits in accessing small, shallow and isolated waterbodies in hazardous environments. In this study, an integrated electromechanical pneumatic system was developed to provide an effective, efficient and safer means to acquire mine water samples using UAVs. The system was tested to collect and analyse ponded water from a tailings storage facility to measure pH, electrical conductivity and dissolved oxygen.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Dispatching systems have attracted considerable attention in the last years due to substantial gains in productivity achieved through their implementation. These systems will be extensively used in the future by mine operators as a means of optimizing productivity.

This paper describes a computer simulation model designed to study the feasibility of continuously dispatching trucks in open-pit mines based on different operating procedures. The system developed is semi-automated and performs an active role by suggesting to the dispatcher the best assignment according to each specific circumstance.

It is modelled based on advance-clock increment to allow the insertion of heuristic dispatching policies and equipment reallocations when breakdowns occur. Dispatching procedures taking into account long-term production objectives are considered in system development.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Run-of-mine fragmentation is an important aspect of mine productivity optimisation, as it affects all mine-to-mill processes. In this study, a 3D rock fragmentation measurement (3DFM) system is proposed that can surmount the limitations of conventional 2D photo-based rock fragmentation measurement methods. To validate the proposed 3DFM performance, a laboratory-based comparison study was conducted using 100 randomly collected rock fragments. Conventional method exhibits relatively low and diffused results than the 3DFM. The proposed 3DFM can be considered as a new particle size distribution measurement method that should efficiently aid in improving mine productivity.  相似文献

There are a large number of variables that must be taken into account for the development of a dragline mine plan. This is especially true for mining in mountainous terrain, where the geology and topography may be complex. As a result, the manual mine planning process can be very tedious and time consuming

An interactive computer package was developed in order to aid the engineer with dragline mine planning on a PC based system. This package employs recent advances in 3D computer graphics and 3D geologic modelling to help with the visualization of the mine plan and to speed up the planning process

One of the main difficulty with the development of mine planning software for microcomputers is due to the limited amount of available RAM (Random Access Memory). This, in turn, affects the speed of information retrieval from the database and the speed of data processing. A compact geologic and mine model and an efficient database were developed to overcome these limitations. These components where then used as the foundation for the development of a total interactive mine planning package.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The advancement of computer technology continues at an ever increasing rate. Mine design and planning is an area which can be greatly enhanced by the use of many computer techniques. Work has therefore been directed by the Department of Mining Engineering at the University of Nottingham to develop a computer-aided mine design and planning system to enable research into the application of these techniques. The system, called NUmine, is micro-computer based and is designed to accomplish the complete range of processes relevant to the design and planning of a mining operation. One such process is computerised modelling and the authors have therefore developed a computerised modelling system known as NUmodel. The system employs some advanced new recursive model structures which, although based on a grid/block representation, combine the ability to handle geometric information. The NUmodel system, described in this paper, forms an integral part of the overall NUmine system. A case study is presented which uses NUmodel to provide an estimate of the reserves for a Middle-Eastern phosphate deposit  相似文献

ABSTRACT

During the last few years, there has been a marked tendency in mining industry to adopt complex and sophisticated technology to make mining operations economically viable. The concepts of integrated operating systems are being gradually introduced with increasing pace of automation in mines. This paper discusses the concepts and various forms of system availabilities which can be used by mine engineers and managers for controlling the system performance. 给料小车是半自磨机重要组成部分,给料小车溜槽衬板的使用寿命直接影响半自磨机的运转率,延长溜槽衬板的使用寿命是非常必要的。离散元法主要用于矿石粒度减小过程的设备仿真,模拟的设备既包括颚式破碎机、圆锥破碎机、半自磨机、球磨机等主要设备,也包括矿仓、皮带机和转运溜槽等辅助设备。以某半自磨机给料小车溜槽衬板为例,采用离散元方法对溜槽衬板结构进行分析及优化,结合现场使用情况,设计合理的溜槽衬板结构,并参照离散元分析,对溜槽衬板的磨损机理进行分析,优化溜槽衬板选材。采用结构与选材优化结合的方式提升给料小车溜槽衬板的使用寿命。  相似文献

巷道成形良好的关健因素主要是矿岩的岩性、构造的发育情况、炮孔起爆顺序、孔内装药量和周边眼的间距。目前大红山铁矿井下掘进施工中起爆顺序和孔内装药量都已是成熟的技术,现阶段对台车光面爆破试验研究以调整周边眼的间距为主。为探讨大红山铁矿Ⅰ号铜矿带台车掘进光面爆破技术,通过不同周边眼间距的台车掘进光面爆破试验研究的效果对比,得到台车掘进光面爆破最优效果的最优周边眼间距,为大力推进台车光面爆破掘进奠定坚实的基础,随着研究的深入和实践经验总结,对各类金属矿山的采掘施工中,提高作业效率,降低安全风险,将得到更为广泛的应用。  相似文献

ABSTRACT

This paper describes a three hinge strata buckling mechanism and its influence on the west wall of the Grand-Baume open pit coal mine. The analysis is extended to investigate the stability at the projected maximum depth of the pit In order to study and quantify the failure mechanism, two analysis methods were employed. The first method used the base friction table on which scale models of the slope were represented. The second method made use of the mathematical modelling of the slope stability by means of a limit equilibrium computer program, specific to three hinge strata buckling. Details on the application and the results of the two methods are presented. These are henceforth compared with the field observations at the Grand-Baume mine.  相似文献

Abstract:  The main challenge facing many of the coal mines in South Africa is the management of mine water following the closure of mining operations. The Sigma Colliery is situated in the Free State Province, adjacent to the town of Sasolburg and bordering the Vaal River, one of the country's largest rivers. The mining includes both opencast and underground operations; however, this paper will only discuss the main underground operations. There are several aquifer systems overlying the deeper mining, which was done by bord and pillar and high extraction mining. Detailed conceptual models of the interactions between several aquifer systems and the rebounding mine voids were constructed using mining and monitoring data. From this, numerical flow models were used to model the complex flow system where rebound of water levels is expected. The results have led to an accurate understanding of the complex flow system and the important controls on the final water levels in the area.  相似文献

The paper develops a theoretical approach to the optimization of mine life and design capacity. The objective is to maximize the future value of mineral reserve.
