Heat-insulating materials for the lining of aluminum electrolysis cells based on diatomite, vermiculite, perlite, and calcium silicate are briefly reviewed. Data on heat conductivity of these materials over the range of 200 – 800°C are given, with emphasis placed on the behavior in the electrolysis bath. The parameters of over 40 various types of milling bodies developed or manufactured by domestic and foreign manufacturers are analyzed. It is established that the wear resistance of ceramics depends on two groups of factors: external ones (process characteristics, design specifics of milling machines, shape and size of milling bodies) and internal ones (structure parameters, composition and properties of materials). The structure of ceramics has a deciding effect on the wear resistance of materials of the same type. Wear resistance can be increased by increasing the corundum content in the mixtures or by controlling the microstructure of ceramics by introducing modifying additives. Additives of eutectic compositions are the most promising.  相似文献

Data on the thermophysical properties of NZP ceramics with the NaZr2(PO4)3-type structure are summarized. A system of thermal expansion regularities is proposed making it possible to predict NZP materials with controllable thermal expansion, including ultralow expansion with near-zero anisotropy. The thermodynamic functions of the reactions of synthesis of NZP phosphates are calculated and the applicability of ceramic technology is justified. It is proposed to use NZP ceramics as heat-insulating materials capable of working under abrupt temperature shifts.  相似文献

Aligned Si3N4 microstructures were achieved by seeding, extruding, and laminating methods. The degree of grain alignment was determined by microstructural measurements. Mechanical properties, including toughness, strength, hardness, and elastic modulus, as well as the contact damage response, were addressed and discussed as a function of this anisotropic microstructure. K I C values over 8 MPa·m1/2 and strengths above 900 MPa were achieved for the most favorable planes in the textured material. Contact damage behavior was influenced by grain orientation in two ways, first, by conferring elliptical shape to the radial surface cracks and second, by the multiple twin/slip formation at the large seeds within the high shear strain region.  相似文献

Two different silicon nitride powders, one produced by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) and one commercial, have been equally processed to obtain dense materials. Y2O3 powders as a sintering aid and hot-pressing techniques were used to process the materials. The fracture toughness and strength of the materials prepared have been evaluated and the results comparatively discussed as a function of the microstructure, with special emphasis on the characteristics of the initial powders.  相似文献

The effect of the electrospinning process parameters on the morphology, alignment, and self-organization of the fibers into bundles and/or yarns are outlined. The fabrication of polylactide materials containing ionic drugs by electrospinning is emphasized. The main approaches used for the preparation of electrospun drug-loaded materials: electrospinning of a mixed solution containing the polymer(s) and the drug(s) or dual spinneret electrospinning of separate drug-containing solutions are compared. The latter approach allows the obtaining of drug-loaded fibrous materials while avoiding the drug interaction. The potential application of the obtained materials containing ionic drugs as wound dressings is outlined.  相似文献

Synthesis of Aluminum Nitride/Boron Nitride Composite Materials   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Aluminum nitride/boron nitride composite was synthesized by using boric acid, urea, and aluminum chloride (or aluminum lactate) as the starting compounds. The starting materials were dissolved in water and mixed homogeneously. Ammonolysis of this aqueous solution resulted in the formation of a precomposite gel, which converted into the aluminum nitride/boron nitride composite on further heat treatment. Characterization of both the precomposite and the composite powders included powder X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. Analysis of the composite revealed that the aluminum nitride phase had a hexagonal structure, and the boron nitride phase a turbostratic structures.  相似文献

This paper reviews the synthesis and the absorbing properties of the wide variety of porous sorbent materials that have been studied for application in the removal of organics, particularly in the area of oil spill cleanup. The discussion is especially focused on hydrophobic silica aerogels, zeolites, organoclays and natural sorbents many of which have been demonstrated to exhibit (or show potential to exhibit) excellent oil absorption properties. We review the currently known methods of producing gold nitride and report on the influence of electrically isolated substrates on the growth of gold nitride films by reactive ion sputtering (RIS). It is found that isolation of the substrate decreases grain size and increases nitrogen content, the latter attributed to longer nitrogen ion lifetime on the surface of the growing film. The chemical reactivity of gold nitride is compared with that of pure gold films using the adsorption of 1-dodecyl mercaptan (CH3(CH2)11SH) as a model system and it is found that there is no significant difference between gold films and gold nitride in terms of Au–S binding. However, gold nitride nanoparticles are suggested to be worthy of further investigation in terms of their catalytic properties.

Amidst growing technological advancements, newer denture base materials and polymerization methods have been introduced. During fabrication, certain mechanical properties are vital for the clinical longevity of the denture base. This systematic review aimed to explore the effect of newer denture base materials and/or polymerization methods on the mechanical properties of the denture base. An electronic database search of English peer-reviewed published papers was conducted using related keywords from 1 January 2011, up until 31 December 2021. This systematic review was based on guidelines proposed by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). The search identified 579 papers. However, the inclusion criteria recognized 22 papers for eligibility. The risk of bias was moderate in all studies except in two where it was observed as low. Heat cure polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and compression moulding using a water bath is still a widely used base material and polymerization technique, respectively. However, chemically modified PMMA using monomers, oligomers, copolymers and cross-linking agents may have a promising result. Although chemically modified PMMA resin might enhance the mechanical properties of denture base material, no clear inferences can be drawn about the superiority of any polymerization method other than the conventional compression moulding technique.  相似文献

Poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) was the focus of an investigation in the role and behavior of polyelectrolyte dispersants in aqueous-based colloidal processing of silicon nitride. The steady-shear flow properties of dense suspensions were examined as a function of pH, particle volume fraction, chain length, and polymer concentration. Suspensions exhibited shear-thinning behavior, which was analyzed using the constitutive Bingham equation for plastic flow. The data showed that polyelectrolyte charge and configuration were important in the observed flow behavior. In acidic media, PAA behaved similar to a neutral polymer in a poor solvent, whereas, in alkaline media, PAA behaved similar to a rigid asymmetric particle. Although electrostatic forces dominated flow properties in alkaline media, where PAA was predominantly in the free-polymer form, at lower pH values, PAA interactions with the particle surface resulted in a complex array of suspension effects, including polymer bridging, electrosteric stabilization, and flocculation.  相似文献

Polymeric nanoparticles (PNPs)-based materials have gained much deliberation due to advancement in polymer science and technology. PNPs are playing an eccentric role in broad spectrum of applications. The importance of these materials lies in idiosyncratic features associated with PNPs. Due to the impact of the materials on nanotechnology; a comprehensive review has been presented here. We covered not only different techniques for the fabrication of PNPs, but also highlighted the properties and parameters involved and enhanced in PNP-based materials. Moreover the worth of PNP-based materials in applications regarding nanocomposites, drug delivery for cancer treatment, and photovoltaic relevance has been discussed.  相似文献
