SINOPEC Zhenhai Refining and Chemical Company to Construct a 1.0 Mt／a Steam Cracking Unit

SINOPEC Zhenhai Refining and Chemical Branch Company intends to invest 20 billion RMB (2.4 billion US dollars) to construct in 2010 in Ningbo, Zhejiang province a largest in China petrochemical integrated unit, including a 1.0 Mt/a ethylene unit. The proposal on construction of this project is awaiting the approval by the Central Govemment. It will take three years to execute the project construction.     

Nanjing to Construct a New 1.0 Mt/a Ethylene Project

The technical revamp of methylamine and DMF unit, in which the Jiutian Fine Chemicals Company in Anyang, Henan province had invested 10 million RMB in 2005, will be completed soon. The production capacity of both methylamine and DMF will reach 30 kt/a. In 2003 the Jiutian Fine Chemicals Company applied the proprietary technology of Hualu Co. ＂gas phase catalysis of methanol and liquid ammonia＂ and technology of one-step reaction with CO licensed by British KPT Co. to construct a 10 kt/a methylamine unit and a 10 kt/a DMF unit and put them on stream.     

1.0 Mt/a Ethylene Project in Fushun Passed Appraisal

PetroChina to Construct an 1.0 Mt/a Ethylene Unit in Yan＇an Region

CNPC will construct an 1.0Mt/a ethylene project in Yan＇an region, Shaanxi province after clinching a cooperation agreement with the Shaanxi provincial government. Construction of this project in the northern Shaanxi area, which has abundant resources of coal, oil, gas and rock salt, will have great significance to bring into full play the advantage of oil and gas resources in Shaanxi province.     

Wuhan to Construct 800 kt／a Ethylene Project

SINOPEC plans to construct a 800 kt/a ethylene plant in Huashan town of Hongshan district, Wuhan city. It is planned to invest 35.2 billion RMB to build a new town —— North Lake town in 2010 based on this ethylene project as the core.The construction of this new town will serve as a solid foundation for expanding the scale of petrochemical industry in Wuhan to foster petrochemical development in central China.Currently the preparatory work for this ethylene project has been started in full steam. 500 kt／a Ethylene Project in Shenyang Passed Review and Investigation by the State Assets Management Commission

The feasibility of construction of a 500kt/a ethylene unit using catalytic pyrolysis process (CPP), 270 kt/a PVC revamp unit and 110kt/a acrylate unit, in which Shenyang Chemical Group will invest 4 billion RMB, has been reviewed and approved by the State Assets Management Commission.

Construction of the 1.0 Mt/a Ethylene Unit in Tianjin to Be Kicked off soon

The proposal on construction of the 1.0 Mt/a ethylene plant at SINOPEC Tianjin Petrochemical Company （TPC） has been approved by the State Council, and the construction of this project will be commenced in early 2006 and will be completed in 2008. The investment in this project will total 21 billion RMB. Upon completion of the project construction the total ethylene capacity of TPC will reach 1.2 Mt/a with its oil refining capacity reaching 12.5 Mt/a, and TPC can manufacture a total of 12 Mt/a of petroleum products,     

800 kt／a Ethylene Revamp Project in Maoming Approved by the State

The 800 kt/a ethylene revamp project at SINOPEC Maoming Petrochemical Branch Company has been approved by theState Council. The total investment in this project, whichcovers three grassroots units and seven revamp units, is ex-pected to reach 4.354 billion RMB.     

State Development and Reform Commission Has Approved Construction of 1.0 Mt／a Ethylene Unit at Zhenhai Refining and Chemical Company

The State Development and Reform Commission has recently approved the construction of a 1.0 Mt/a class ethylene unit at Zhenhai Refining and Chemical Company. This project will cover 12 units including a 1.0 Mt/a ethylene plant, a 500 kt/a ethylene glycol unit, a 450 kt/a PE unit, and other units with total investment amounting to around 22.38 billion RMB.

On March 17, 2006 the State Development and Reform Com- mission officially delivered a letter on approval of the pro- posal on construction of a 1.0 Mt/a ethylene project at SINOPEC Zhenhai Refining and Chemical Co.
