In this study, the optimization of some parameters on agglomeration performance of Zonguldak bituminous coal by oil agglomeration was discussed. A three-level Box-Behnken design combining with a response surface methodology (RSM) and quadratic programming (QP) were employed for modeling and optimization some operations parameters on oil agglomeration performance. The relationship between the responses, i.e., grade and recovery, and four process parameters, i.e., amount of oil, agitation time, agitation rate and solid content were presented as empirical model equations for both grade and recovery on oil agglomeration. The model equations were then optimized individually using the quadratic programming method to maximize both for grade and recovery within the experimental range studied. The optimum conditions were found to be 14.61% for amount of oil, 8.94 min for agitation time, 1554 rpm for agitation rate and 5% for solid content to achieve the maximum grade. The maximum model prediction of 0.650 grade at these optimum conditions is higher than any value obtained in the initial tests conducted. Similarly, the conditions for maximum recovery were found to be 20.60% for amount of oil, 5 min for agitation time, 1800 rpm for agitation rate and 19.48% for solid content with a prediction of 96.90% recovery, which is also higher than any other recovery obtained in the initial tests conducted.  相似文献

Oil agglomeration of Sivas–Divriği (S–D) Uluçayır lignite fines was carried out using kerosene and kerosene–extract oil (which was obtained from lignite treated with microwave energy) mixture as a bridging oil. The effects of parameters such as the amount and type of bridging oil, microwave time and particle size on the agglomeration performance were investigated. The amount of kerosene was varied from 5 to 30 wt.% of the initial lignite loading. The values of the grade and recovery increased with an increase in the amount of kerosene added. Extract oil fraction of the lignite extract at various ratios in kerosene increased the agglomeration recovery from 95.88% to 98.55%. The effect of microwave time was investigated and it was found that the grade was also increased with increasing microwave time (4, 8 and 10 min). The grade of char (microwave time: 8 min) was increased in comparison with the original lignite while decreasing its recovery. Dense medium separations of the lignite were conducted and the results of their grade recovery performances were compared with those of agglomeration of the particles. During the inspection of particle size effect on the dense medium separation, the recovery was increased remarkably (from 12.07% to 89.50%) with increasing particle size, while decreasing the grade (from 0.732 to 0.697). In the oil agglomeration of lignite the recovery values were increased with increasing particle size.  相似文献

针对我国页岩油冷凝回收油洗工艺尚不成熟的问题,提出了一种用于油页岩干馏油气冷凝回收的油洗工艺,并运用PRO/II流程模拟软件对工艺流程进行模拟,分析模拟结果表明,所提出的油洗工艺能够有效地完成页岩油的冷凝回收,并将油气粗分为净油气、汽油、柴油和重油。针对所提出流程能量利用率低的缺点进行流程改造优化,优化后的热量回收率提高了约14.63%,并且能够获得高品位热源,能量匹配更加合理。同时对油洗塔汽油回流量进行了分析,确定最优的汽油回流量为3100 kg/h。  相似文献

This paper describes the use of coal-oil agglomerates in flotation to increase the gold recovery from an ore containing fine gold particles. The effects of operating parameters on gold flotation recovery such as oil type, particle size of agglomerating material, agglomerate/ore and oil/ore ratios were investigated. The studies showed that petroleum oils are more effective than vegetable oils in oil agglomeration of Kozlu coal and coal-oil assisted gold flotation. Gold recovery can be increased using a higher amount of agglomerates in the process; however, gold grade of the flotation concentrates is reduced significantly. The use of bridging oil at high concentrations in the agglomeration process provides high-grade gold concentrates, but lower recoveries. The utilization of coarser coal particles in the coal-oil agglomeration stage leads to higher selectivity and recovery values for gold particles.  相似文献

The significance of coking coal in the metallurgical sector as well as the meager coking coal reserves across the globe increase the necessity to recover coking coal fines from the fine coking coal slurries generated from coal preparation and utilization activities. Oil agglomeration studies were carried out by varying the experimental conditions for maximum recovery of coking coal fines i.e., yield of the agglomerates. The various operational parameters studied were oil dosage, agitation speed, agglomeration time and pulp density. By using Taguchi experimental design, oil dosage (20%), agitation speed (1100 rpm), agglomeration time (3 min) and pulp density (4.5%) were identified as the optimized conditions. A confirmation experiment has also been carried out at the optimized conditions. The percentage contribution of each parameter on agglomerate yield was analyzed by adopting analysis of variance (ANOVA) statistical method as well as multiple linear regression analysis. The order of influence of the parameters on the agglomerate yield is of the following order: pulp density > oil dosage > agitation speed > agglomeration time. A mathematical model was developed to fit the set of experimental conditions with the yield obtained at each test run and also at the optimized conditions. The experimentally obtained yield was compared with the predicted yield of the model and the results indicate a maximum error of 5% between the two. A maximum yield of 90.42% predicted at the optimized conditions appeared to be in close agreement with the experimental yield thus indicating the accuracy of the model in predicting the results.  相似文献

During domestic usage, olive oil bottle manipulation may lead to a quality decrease due to agitation and oxygenation. Therefore, assessing the domestic consumption time period during which the initial quality grade is retained may allow including this information as a recommendation, ensuring olive oil consumers’ satisfaction. Temporal changes of physicochemical, chemical, and sensory parameters of extra‐virgin olive oils (EVOO) were monitored during 1‐month simulated house‐use conditions. It was observed that K232 (R‐Pearson ≥+0.81) and ΔK increased resulting in a significant olive oil quality decrease from EVOO (during the initial 21 days of simulated usage) to lampante olive oil (after 28 days of simulated usage) as well as the appearance of rancid sensation. As lampante olive oils cannot be commercialized, it is pertinent to establish olive oil shelf life under usual home‐use conditions. Principal component analysis allowed grouping the olive oils according to home‐use time period and how bottles are stored after their first opening, showing that the overall olive oil physicochemical and sensory characteristics changed with the domestic‐use time period. Finally, a potentiometric electronic tongue coupled with linear discriminant analysis was used to discriminate olive oils according to the domestic‐use time period (leave‐one‐out cross‐validation sensitivities ≥95%). Thus, this device could be used to indirectly assess the quality of the remaining bottled olive oil by establishing for how long an olive oil bottle has been used under domestic conditions.  相似文献

Milk of lime (MOL) suspension is widely utilized in many industries; however, in some of the applications, such as the production of precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC), the suspension must be of high purity and quality. In other words, the amounts of iron and magnesium should be so little so that the final PCC product would be of high quality. The effects of initial temperature, quicklime particle size, amount of initial solid present, agitation rate, and time on the recovery of hydrated lime and iron/magnesium reduction efficiency were investigated through a central composite design (CCD) of experiments. The iron reduction efficiency and the weight recovery of hydrated lime were obtained as 91% and 98.5%, respectively. The reduction of magnesium was not significant in this stage. Moreover, approximately the whole existing SiO2 was eliminated.  相似文献

Methyl esters from crude sunflower oil were produced via methanolysis reaction using sodium hydroxide catalyst. Methanolysis was carried out at different agitation speeds (200–600 rpm), temperatures (25–60 °C), catalyst loadings (0.25–1.00% by weight of oil), and methanol:oil mole ratios (6:1–20:1). Mass‐transfer limitation was effectively minimized at agitation speeds of 400–600 rpm with no apparent lag period. Lowering the temperature resulted in a fall in the rate of reaction prolonging the reaction time necessary to achieve maximum production of methyl ester. Using 0.50% hydroxide catalyst was found to be adequate, resulting in 97–98% conversion without compromising recovery due to soap formation. Increasing the methanol:oil mole ratio beyond the usual amount of 6:1 tended to speed up the initial rate of methanolysis and was found to lower the bonded glycerol content, especially the amount of diglyceride in the sample. Kinetic rate constants were derived from experimental results using second‐order rate expressions, and values of activation energy for glyceride methanolysis have been established. The coking behaviour of coking coals after transport in experimental slurry pipelines and recovery from the slurry by oil agglomeration has been studied using a 100 kg test coke oven. It was shown that excellent quality coke could be made, in some cases stronger than would be produced from the same coals after conventional preparation. The improved coke strength was due to the fine grinding of the coals which was a characteristic of the agglomeration technique. The presence of diesel oil or kerosene had a retarding effect on heat transfer and in some conditions decreased coke oven productivity. Normal productivity was observed when tar was used as the agglomeration agent.A two-step process with recovery and re-use of oil is suggested and the potential improvement in yields of blast furnace coke per tonne of raw coal are presented.  相似文献

Production of biodiesel from non-edible feedstocks is attracting more attention than in the past, for the purpose of manufacturing alternative fuels without interfering with the food chain. Biodiesel was produced using Croton megalocarpus oil as a non-edible feedstock. C. megalocarpus oil was obtained from north Tanzania. This study aimed at optimizing the biodiesel production process parameters experimentally. The parameters involved in the optimization process were the amount of the catalyst, of alcohol, temperature, agitation speed and reaction time. The optimum biodiesel conversion efficiency obtained was 88% at the optimal conditions of 1.0 wt.% amount of potassium hydroxide catalyst, 30 wt.% amount of methanol, 60 °C reaction temperature, 400 rpm agitation rate and 60 min reaction time. The properties of croton biodiesel which were determined fell within the recommended biodiesel standards. Croton oil was found with a free fatty acid content of 1.68% which is below the 2% recommended for the application of the one step alkaline transesterification method. The most remarkable feature of croton biodiesel is its cold flow properties. This biodiesel yielded a cloud and pour point of −4 °C and −9 °C, respectively, while its kinematic viscosity lay within the recommended standard value. This points to the viability of using croton biodiesel in cold regions.  相似文献

The objective of this work is to obtain high calorific value/low ash content products from fine bituminous coals by aggloflotation with petroleum oils such as hexane, heptane, toluene and pentane. The two methods used were agglomeration and aggloflotation for cleaning fine bituminous coal. Oil agglomeration experiments first were carried out followed by aggloflotation at the optimum conditions obtained from agglomeration. The effects of fundamental parameters such as oil type and dosage, pulp density, conditioning time; pH and Na2SiO3 amount were studied. The combustible recoveries and ash content of concentrates for optimal aggloflotation test conditions were with hexane: 92.17% combustible recovery (dry basis), 10.87% ash (dry basis) and lower calorific value (LHV) 5864 kcal/kg.  相似文献

A large amount of fine granular materials (<6 mm) are produced during the mining of oil shale. The combustion characteristics of oil shale improve with decreasing size of these materials, for which reason fine-grain oil shale has a high utility value. However, fine oil shale also contains a significant amount of inorganic mineral impurities which can be reduced by physical separation to improve the oil quality. Based on an analysis of the physical properties of oil shale, this paper proposes a compound dry separation process for the cleaning of <6 mm oil shale grains. The effects of the vibration intensity, air velocity, and back angle of the employed separator on the separation results and oil content of the cleaned oil shale were systematically analyzed. Under the optimal vibrational conditions defined by a vibration intensity of 25.76 (amplitude = 4.0 mm, frequency = 40 Hz), air velocity of 0.66 m/s, and back angle of 45°, the yield comprised 35.8% concentrate and 64.2% tailings, with corresponding oil contents of 10.02% and 0.85%, respectively. The probable error of the highest intensity of segregation achieved was 0.155. The proposed compound dry separation of oil shale particles of up to 6 mm was found to be more efficient compared with conventional methods, and the separated fine grade material can be comprehensively utilized by further pyrolysis treatment.  相似文献

Extraction from oil sands is a crucial step in the industrial recovery of bitumen. It is challenging to obtain online measurements of process outputs such as bitumen grade and recovery. Online measurements are a prerequisite for innovating better process control solutions for process efficiency and cost reduction. We have developed a soft sensor to provide online measurements of bitumen grade and recovery in a flotation‐based oil sand extraction process. Continuous froth images were captured using a VisioFroth camera system on a batch flotation unit. A support vector regression (SVR) model with a Gaussian kernel was constructed to develop a soft sensor for bitumen grade and recovery using froth image features as the inputs. The model was trained and validated for batch flotation of different grades of oil sands ore at industry‐relevant process conditions. A Dean‐Stark analyzer was used to obtain offline grade and recovery measurements that were used to calibrate the soft sensor. Mean squared errors (MSE) of 62 and 74 were achieved for grade (%) and recovery (%), respectively, and this was obtained using 5‐fold cross validation. The developed soft sensor model has been applied successfully in the real‐time dynamic monitoring of flotation grade and recovery for different grades of ore and operating conditions.

Tannin-based, carbonised, polymerised High Internal Phase Emulsions (polyHIPEs) are described in detail for the first time. Such highly porous materials were prepared by emulsion-templating, using an aqueous phase made of tannin and a low amount of hexamine dissolved in water, sunflower oil, and ethoxylated castor oil. After hardening of the tannin-based resin, the oil was leached out and the resultant monoliths were pyrolysed. The porous structure of carbon polyHIPEs prepared with an initial oil fraction ranging from 43 to 80 vol.% has been investigated, as well as their mechanical and thermal properties. We show that the most homogeneous materials, having the smallest pores, the narrowest pore size distributions and also the highest mechanical properties, are those made with an initial oil fraction around 70 vol.%. Such value is close to random and hexagonal close packing fractions: 64% and 74%, respectively.  相似文献

The development and optimization of the synthesis of an analogue of sperm whale oil have been carried out. The product is an ester with characteristics similar to those of natural sperm whale oil. A central composite design was applied in the synthesis of this fine chemical. The variables selected for the present study are reaction temperature, initial concentration of catalyst and working pressure. Temperature is the most significant factor in the esterification process, and its influence is positive. Pressure influence can be neglected, and the catalyst concentration has a positive influence on the process. Depending on the temperature value, the influence of the interactions can be more important than that of the other two main effects, pressure and catalyst concentration. Response surface models have been found adequate to represent the yield of ester. The commercial quality of the synthesized product is very similar to that of natural spermaceti. Because of its low cost, this synthesis process is considered, from an economical point of view, very attractive.  相似文献

In this study, the kinetics of agglomerate growth in a batch oil agglomeration process has been studied using bituminous coal. The effect of operating variables such as kerosene concentration, pulp density and speed of agitation on the agglomeration process was investigated. It has been found that the second-order kinetic equation describes the growth of agglomerates adequately. The growth of the agglomerates in the oil agglomeration process shows a self-preserving growth. Using this, a characteristic curve has been developed. For the prediction of the size distribution of the agglomerates, the d50 values of the agglomerates must be known. Therefore, a model has been developed by using the kinetic equation for estimation of d50 values of agglomerates for this coal. It was shown that the size distribution of the agglomerates for any levels of the process variables studied can be predicted using the equation of characteristic curve and d50 values. Knowledge obtained from this study will be helpful for technological advancement of this kind of study.  相似文献
