The more advanced an integrated circuit becomes, the more stringent are the demands for certain properties of a dielectric
or insulating material. In addition, it is essential that the layer maintain its specific electrical, physical, and chemical
properties after incorporation in the device structure and during subsequent processing. Due to temperature budget constraints
and the accelerated decrease of feature sizes below 0.25 μm, one can no longer rely on traditional choices but has to search
for alternatives, both for low and high permittivity replacements. In this article we survey currently used low dielectric

Precise determination of the dielectric constant of microelectronic packaging materials is critical for the performance optimization of high frequency devices. Accurate empirical data, however, is difficult to obtain and often not available for these complex composite materials. In order to provide a basis for predictive model verification, dielectric analysis of a series of model microelectronic packaging materials was conducted. Physical characteristics of the composite constituents, including the morphology of the dispersed phase as well as the dielectric constant of the dispersed and host phases, were used to define the indeterminate variables. The results of these analyses provide a systematic verification of a newly developed physical model for predicting the effective dielectric constant of complex composite systems. The model considers an interphase zone surrounding each dispersed particle having unique physical and electrical characteristics. A physical interpretation is presented to explain the indeterminate variables incorporated in this model. 相似文献

A series of structurally isomeric carbazole/triazole (TAZ)-based bipolar host materials 1–4 were designed and synthesized. These new materials were found to exhibit wide energy gaps (Eg: 3.29–3.52 eV), high triplet energies (ET: 2.56–2.76 eV), high thermal stability (Td: 426–454 °C), high glass-transition temperatures (Tg: 116–156 °C) and excellent film-forming property. Green and blue emitting devices with fac-tris(2-phenylpyridine)iridium (Ir(ppy)3) and iridium(III) bis(4,6-(di-fluorophenyl)pyridinato-N,C2′)picolinate (FIrpic) as phosphorescent dopants have been fabricated. The measurements of turn-on voltages, efficiencies and luminance suggested that the practice of combining carbazole’s high triplet energy and excellent hole-transporting ability with TAZ’s electron-transporting ability at the molecular level was effectively translated into better performance at the device level. The molecular structure of compound 4 is well-correlated with its efficiencies, which (32.7 and 21.1 cd/A for green and blue devices, respectively) were the best among the four materials. 相似文献

Four different electron-rich organic dopants were added to an unsaturated polyester resin to determine the influence on the rheological properties as well as on the softening and dielectric properties after solidification. While the viscosity is slightly reduced with increasing dopant concentration, which simplifies thin-film formation for the integration in a printed circuit board, as unwished side effect the glass transition temperature of the solid polymer drops also. The aspired increase in the relative constant could be realized, starting with an initial value around 3 the addition of 20 wt% of phenanthrene enabled a value for εrel of 5.5 (20 °C, 100 kHz). Luminance homogeneity is an important aspect for large-area (>1 cm2) organic light emitting diodes (OLED). Especially, high sheet resistances of transparent contacts lead to a significant brightness inhomogeneity caused by a drop of local potential difference. Therefore the implementation of thin low-resistance metallic grids onto transparent contacts is a crucial development aspect for large-area OLED design. We develop a finite-element electro-optical simulation for OLED using grid structures to optimize geometry, thickness and width of grid elements. We find an exponential relationship between luminance homogeneity and grid material volume, which leads to limitations of minimal grid line width and maximal emissive area for efficient development of large-area OLED. 相似文献
