This paper discusses the implementation of RFID technologies, which enable the shop floor visibility and reduce uncertainties in the real-time scheduling for hybrid flowshop (HFS) production. In the real-time HFS environment, the arriving of new jobs is dynamic, while the processes in work stages are not continuous. The decision makers in shop floor level and stage level have different objectives. Therefore, classical off-line HFS scheduling approaches cannot be used under these situations. In this research, two major measures are taken to deal with these specific real-time features. Firstly, a ubiquitous manufacturing (UM) environment is created by deploying advanced wireless devices into value-adding points for the collection and synchronization of real-time shop floor data. Secondly, a multi-period hierarchical scheduling (MPHS) mechanism is developed to divide the planning time horizon into multiple shorter periods. The shop floor manager and stage managers can hierarchically make decisions for their own objectives. Finally, the proposed MPHS mechanism is illustrated by a numerical case study.  相似文献

This paper describes an innovative distributed framework for monitoring and control of large-scale systems by integrating heterogeneous smart objects, the world of physical devices, sensors and actuators, legacy devices and sub-systems, cooperating to support holistic management [1]. Its featured Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) exposes objects’ capabilities by means of web services, thus supporting syntactic and semantic interoperability among different technologies, including SCADA systems [23]. Wireless Sensor and Actuator Network (WSAN) devices and legacy subsystems cooperate while orchestrated by a manager in charge of enforcing a distributed logic. Particularly crafted for industrial networks are new middleware services such as dynamic spectrum management, distributed control logic, object virtualization, WSANs gateways, a SCADA gateway service, and data fusion transport capability. In addition, new application oriented objects such as shop floor, manufacturing line, welding station, robots, and cells have been introduced in the middleware. The combination of such objects and previous modules offers a new and flexible industry oriented middleware. A second contribution is in the form of traffic analysis conducted at the floor level. It shows the dominance of some end systems such as PLCs, the presence well behaved almost constant traffic made up of small packets.  相似文献

The material flow is a major focus point in improving productivity in today’s product diversified manufacturing organizations. Nevertheless, there is still a lack of efficient methods to control material flow through manufacturing processes in cases where multi-item tracking is difficult to achieve. This paper presents an RFID-based RTLS (Real-Time Location System) solution for obtaining multi-item work-in-process visibility within a manufacturer. It delivers detailed performance metrics through RTLS data analysis in order to evaluate workflow performance and to obtain a lean process. We pre-filter the RTLS data through the development of a middleware data collection method to acquire near real-time performance evaluation. A case study illustrates the complete process including measurements before and after a workflow redesign. The increased level of detail from RFID measurements yields new insights into shop floor actions and the real effects of redesign efforts.  相似文献

为了提高普适计算系统的开发效率, 设计了一个基于OSGi框架的动态普适计算中间件模型. 该中间件模型以OSGi框架为基础, 建立移动管理器管理用户和服务的移动, 利用上下文管理器来管理上下文, 动态调整自己的行为, 支持上下文感知应用. 通过标准的接口实现各种异构普适设备间的互操作性. 实验结果表明该中间件能够满足通用普适计算环境的要求, 对于普适计算系统的开发具有一定的借鉴意义.  相似文献

In recognition of the need for more effective and efficient factory system integration solutions, this paper improves the method proposed in our previous work, focusing on new mechanisms to bridge the gap between shop floor automation and factory information systems. As one of the mainstream identification technologies, radio frequency identification (RFID) technology makes possible all products uniquely identifiable across factories. By taking advantage of data capacity stored in an RFID tag, critical manufacturing information on a product can be locally stored with the product. RFID technology provides a means for a product to rapidly retrieve its needed information as it advances through shop floors. A corresponding framework to enable the instant delivery of pertinent data and information on a uniquely identifiable job/product at point-of-need across factories is proposed. A small-scale manufacturing application is presented to show how the proposed approach can be implemented on the shop floor.  相似文献

随着社会生产力的发展,科学技术的不断进步,射频识别(Radio Frequency Identification,RFID)技术近年来由于其显著的优点得到了广泛的应用,为了让作为RFID系统神经中枢的RFID中间件可以更好、更快地得到应用,使其能适应更多的应用需求,对现有的RFID中间件进行改进与优化是十分必要的,本文研究基于Java的分布式系统—Jini,给出基于Jini的RFID中间件平台的总体架构,利用RMI通信方式,实现RFID设备(虚拟的设备)在Jini环境下的自动识别、RFID中间件在Jini环境下的自动配置和管理以及RFID设备的"即插即用"的功能,同时对RFID中间件在Jini环境下的管理进一步地进行优化,使得基于EPCglobal标准的RFID中间件的设备配置与管理能在分布式环境下高效地运行。最后在实验中验证RFID中间件在Jini平台中的"即插即用"性。本文为RFID中间件与现代技术的结合提供思路和方法参考。  相似文献

RFID中间件是介于前端读写器硬件模块与后端数据库和应用软件之间的重要环节,它是RFID应用部署运作的中枢。针对目前相关企业的需求,设计了一种面向服务体系(SOA)的实时系统的RFID中间件结构, 并给出了设备管理及询问器相应的UML类图结构,对RFID中间件中各组成部分的作用和构成作了详细地说明。通过对一个基于餐饮系统应用的测试表明,中间件可提高系统的可移植性,增强了系统的可维护性和可靠性。  相似文献

The use of RFID middleware to support application development for and integration of RFID hardware into information systems has become quite common in RFID applications where reader devices remain stationary, which currently represents the largest part of all RFID applications in use. Another field for applying RFID technology which is offering a huge set of novel possibilities and applications are mobile applications, where readers are no longer fixed. In order to address the specific issues of mobile RFID-enabled applications and to support developers in rapid application development, we present ID-Services, an architecture for an RFID middleware that is designed to support mobile applications. The ID-Services approach has been used to implement MoVIS (Mobile Visitor Information System), a mobile application which allows museum visitors to request individually adapted multimedia information about exhibits in an intuitive way.  相似文献

In extended enterprises, real-time manufacturing information tracking plays an important role and aims to provide the right information to the right person at the right time in the right format to achieve optimal production management among the involved enterprises. However, many enterprises are caused by lack of timely, accurate and consistent manufacturing data. The laggard information transfer flow and the unmatched information transfer method bring extended enterprises much more uncertainty and unknowingness. This paper proposes a RFID-enabled real-time manufacturing information tracking infrastructure (RTMITI) to address the real-time manufacturing data capturing and manufacturing information processing methods for extended enterprises. Following the proposed infrastructure, the traditional manufacturing resources such as employees, machines and materials are equipped with RFID devices (Readers and Tags) to build the real-time data capturing environment. In addition, a series of manufacturing information processing methods are established to calculate and track the real-time manufacturing information such as real-time manufacturing cost, progress, WIP (Work-in-progress) inventory etc. in parts/assemblies/products at machines/shop floors/enterprises/ extended enterprises levels. Nowadays, shop floor managers are facing numerous unpredictable risks in the actual manufacturing environment. These unpredictable risks not only involve stringent requirements regarding the replenishment of materials but also increase the difficulty in preparing material stock. In this paper, a real-time production operations decision support system (RPODS) is proposed for solving stochastic production material demand problems. Based on Poon et al. (2009), three additional tests are proposed to evaluate RFID reading performance. Besides, by using RPODS, the real-time status of production and warehouse operations are monitored by Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, and a genetic algorithm (GA) technique is applied to formulate feasible solutions for tackling these stochastic production demand problems. The capability of the RPODS is demonstrated in a mould manufacturing company. Through the case study, the objectives of reducing the effect of stochastic production demand problems and enhancing productivity both on the shop floor and in the warehouse are achieved.  相似文献

Future factories will feature strong integration of physical machines and cyber-enabled software, working seamlessly to improve manufacturing production efficiency. In these digitally enabled and network connected factories, each physical machine on the shop floor can have its ‘virtual twin’ available in cyberspace. This ‘virtual twin’ is populated with data streaming in from the physical machines to represent a near real-time as-is state of the machine in cyberspace. This results in the virtualization of a machine resource to external factory manufacturing systems. This paper describes how streaming data can be stored in a scalable and flexible document schema based database such as MongoDB, a data store that makes up the virtual twin system. We present an architecture, which allows third-party integration of software apps to interface with the virtual manufacturing machines. We evaluate our database schema against query statements and provide examples of how third-party apps can interface with manufacturing machines using the VMM middleware. Finally, we discuss an operating system architecture for VMMs across the manufacturing cyberspace, which necessitates command and control of various virtualized manufacturing machines, opening new possibilities in cyber-physical systems in manufacturing.  相似文献

In this paper, the need for knowledge-based simulation technique in shop floor scheduling are addressed. A prototype integrated system in Feed Mill manufacturing utilizing an integrated approach of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and simulation is discussed. The system is designed to support the production planner in scheduling and controlling the shop floor on real-time and on-line basis. The rapid development new generation of information technologies facilitate the emergence of cyber-physical production system (CPPS) which could pave a way to exploring new smart manufacturing solutions. Digital twin (DT) is the technical core for establishing CPPS in the context of industry 4.0. Developing an easy-to-deploy and simple-to-use DT-based CPPS is a critical research gap. In this paper, a systemic framework is proposed to provide guidelines for rapid system configuration and easy runtime of DT-based CPPS by integrating CPS, DT modeling technologies, event-driven distributed cooperation mechanisms, and web technologies. The concept of CPS node (CPSN) for manufacturing resources is established by integrating semantic information model, 3D geometric model and function modules. Various CPSNs are orchestrated as an autonomous CPPS using dynamic resource registration and binding technologies. To achieve easy runtime of DT-based CPPS, event-driven distributed cooperation among CPSNs and web-based remote control of CPPS are proposed respectively. Finally, to verify the feasibility of the proposed framework, a prototype of DT-based CPPS is implemented, based on which an exemplary case is conducted.  相似文献

Integrating physical objects with the corresponding enterprise applications any time any where is the essential issue for a real-time enterprise. This study proposes a multi-agent system framework called agent-based manufacturing control and coordination (AMCC) system, a agent-based framework using ontology and RFID technology to monitor and control dynamic production flows and also to improve the traceability and visibility of mass customization manufacturing processes. The capabilities offered by multi-agent systems to respond to RFID events in real-time and a broad class of agent design and coordination issue regarding just in time (JIT) and just in sequence (JIS) manufacturing processes are also exploited in this study. To validate the proposed framework, case study of a bicycle manufacturing company is used to demonstrate how the proposed framework can benefit its JIT production. Finally, an example prototype system is implemented to demonstrate the concept of the proposed framework.  相似文献

Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a powerful technology that enables wireless information storage and control in an economical way. These properties have generated a wide range of applications in different areas. Due to economic and technological constrains, RFID devices are seriously limited, having small or even tiny computational capabilities. This issue is particularly challenging from the security point of view. Security protocols in RFID environments have to deal with strong computational limitations, and classical protocols cannot be used in this context. There have been several attempts to overcome these limitations in the form of new lightweight security protocols designed to be used in very constrained (sometimes called ultra‐lightweight) RFID environments. One of these proposals is the David–Prasad ultra‐lightweight authentication protocol. This protocol was successfully attacked using a cryptanalysis technique named Tango attack. The capacity of the attack depends on a set of boolean approximations. In this paper, we present an enhanced version of the Tango attack, named Genetic Tango attack, that uses Genetic Programming to design those approximations, easing the generation of automatic cryptanalysis and improving its power compared to a manually designed attack. Experimental results are given to illustrate the effectiveness of this new attack.  相似文献

Wireless Manufacturing (WM) is emerging as a next-generation advanced manufacturing technology (AMT). WM relies substantially on wireless devices (e.g. RFID—Radio Frequency Identification or Auto ID—Automatic Identification, and on wireless information/communication networks (e.g. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth), for the collection and synchronization of manufacturing data. This paper proposes a WM framework where RFID devices are deployed to workstations, critical tools, key components, and containers of WIP (Work In Progress) materials to turn them into so-called smart objects. The study is based on a simplified product assembly line. Smart objects are tracked and traced and shop-floor disturbances are detected and fed back to decision makers on a real-time basis. Such real-time visibility closes the loop of adaptive assembly planning and control. A facility called assembly line explorer is provided for the line manager to oversee the status of the entire assembly line, and a workstation explorer facility for operators to monitor the status of their operations at corresponding workstations. These facilities improve the effectiveness of managerial decisions and operational efficiency.  相似文献

Today's machining shop floors, characterized by large variety of products in small batch sizes, require dynamic control and real-time monitoring capabilities that are responsive and adaptive to the rapid changes of production capability and functionality. It is especially true when the shop floors are combined with the e-manufacturing concept. However, a highly efficient infrastructure that can integrate the pieces of automated equipment together and link them to the e-manufacturing is still missing. The objective of this research is to develop an appropriate methodology with open architecture for real-time monitoring and remote control of networked CNC machines. A framework named Wise-ShopFloor (Web-based-integrated sensor-driven e-ShopFloor) is designed for this purpose. Within the context, this paper presents a new enabling technology to bring traditional CNC machine tools on-line with combined monitoring and control capability. Issues such as architecture design, methodology development, and prototype implementation are addressed through a milling machine case study. It is expected that the developed technology can be readily applied to real shop floor environments with increased productivity, flexibility, and responsiveness.  相似文献

Context-sensitivity is an important expected capability in applications in ubiquitous computing (ubicomp) environments. These applications need to use different contextual information from the user, host device, on board sensors, network, and the ambient environments to systematically adapt their actions. In addition, some context-sensitive applications may use specific contextual conditions to trigger impromptu and possibly short-lived interactions with applications in other devices. This property, referred to as context-sensitive or context-aware communications, allows applications to form short-range mobile ad hoc networks consisting of mobile and stationary devices, sensors, and other computing resources. Real-time applications, especially those having reactive behavior, running on embedded devices and requiring context-sensitive communications support, pose new challenges related to systematic representation of specific contexts, associations of contexts with real-time actions, timely context data collection and propagation, and transparent context-sensitive connection establishment. An object-based middleware can be effective to meet these challenges if such a middleware can provide a well-defined development framework as well as lightweight runtime services. In this paper, an adaptive and object-based middleware, called reconfigurable context-sensitive middleware (RCSM) is presented to facilitate context-sensitive communications in ubicomp environments. To facilitates context-sensitive communications, RCSM provides a context-aware interface definition language for specifying context-sensitive interfaces of real-time objects, an object container framework for generating interfaces-specific context-analyzers, and a context-sensitive object request broker for context-sensitive object discovery and impromptu connection management. RCSM is adaptive in the sense that depending on the context-sensitive behavior of the applications, it adapts its object discovery and connection management mechanisms.  相似文献
