Many tribosystems are subjected to different conditions with respect to temperature and humidity. Reciprocating sliding tests with steel/steel couples were performed using a laboratory test rig in air with varying relative humidity and temperature. During each test the friction force, the total linear wear, the electrical contact resistance, and the acoustic emission were recorded. Tests with self‐mated couples of bearing steel (100r6) and of stainless steel (X10CrNiMoNb18‐10/X5CrNi18‐9) in a ball‐on‐disc arrangement revealed small effects of temperature and humidity on friction, but a strong effect of the water vapour content on the wear rate of the system. Attempts were made to correlate changes of wear behaviour with different wear mechanisms.  相似文献

The influence of humidity on the fretting behaviour of PVD TiN coatings   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The influence of the relative humidity (RH) in ambient air on the friction and wear behaviour of PVD TiN coatings subjected to contact vibrations against corundum and bearing steel (100Cr6) counterbodies has been investigated. The fretting experiments were performed in the gross-slip regime on TiN coatings produced by three different PVD processes. The results indicate two basic friction characteristics. At low relative humidity (RH < 10%), the friction force is in the range of the normal force whereas it is less than one third of the normal force in atmospheres of high relative humidity (RH > 80%). A transition from high to low friction was observed during the course of experiments performed in atmospheres of medium relative humidity. The duration of the high friction phase in such transitions was found to depend on fretting parameters such as the normal force and the vibration frequency. This humidity dependence of the friction force was found for both counterbody materials. The size of the damaged surface area as well as the volumetric wear on the TiN coatings were found to be largest at low relative humidity. Fretting damage occurs over a smaller area but extends more into the depth at high relative humidity. The size of the fretted surface area induced on TiN is larger for Cr-steel than for corundum counterbodies.  相似文献

The friction and wear behaviour of SiC, Si3N4 and SiC/Si3N4 composite ceramics were investigated with oscillating sliding (gross slip fretting) at room temperature. The influence of counter body material and the humidity of the surrounding air was studied with a ball-on-disc configuration with different ball materials (1000Cr6, Al2O3 SiC and Si3N4). The effect of RH on friction is marginal with exception of SiC (low friction) as counter body material. The wear behaviour, however, is strongly affected by humidity, showing inverse trends for different counter body materials. Consequently, the wear behaviour of a tribo couple can be improved by selecting an adequate mating material. The results reveal the necessity to control RH in tribological tests. For estimation of the performance of tribo couples under varying environmental conditions, a variation of RH is required. In tribo couples with single phase SiC, either as ball or disc, the tribological behaviour of the system is dominated by SiC. The friction behaviour of the composite material is in between the behaviour of the two single phase materials, Si3N4 and SiC, whereas the wear behaviour is very similar to that of single phase Si3N4.  相似文献

Laboratory tests can help in the analysis of tribological failures of elements, and improve tribo‐systems by choosing appropriate materials. In order to characterise the friction and wear behaviour of candidate materials, various different test methods have been developed in the past and are still in use. One such method is the reciprocating sliding of a ball against a disc. In the work reported here, the repeatability of friction and wear results was evaluated with ten tests under identical conditions with a steel (100Cr6) or alumina (Al2O3) ball against a steel (100Cr6) disc under unlubricated conditions at room temperature. The influence of ambient humidity on friction and wear behaviour was determined in three additional tests in dry and in moist air, respectively. The repeatability of friction coefficient in normal air was better than 5% for alumina/100Cr6 and 12% for 100Cr6/100Cr6, while the repeatability of volumetric wear was slightly better than 10% for alumina/steel, and slightly worse than 10% for steel/steel. For both couples the coefficient of friction is lowest in moist air and about 50% higher in dry air. The coefficient of wear is also least in moist air and higher by a factor of 3(5) in dry air for tests with a 100Cr6 (alumina) ball.  相似文献

应用QG-700型高温气氛摩擦磨损试验机研究了CrNiMo钢/黄铜配副在不同环境湿度条件下的滑动摩擦磨损性能,利用三维形貌轮廓仪、EDAX能谱分析仪(EDS)分析了其磨损机制。结果表明:随着环境气氛湿度的增加,配副的摩擦因数、销/盘试样磨损率和摩擦温度均呈降低趋势,摩擦学性能得到改善。销试样的磨损机制主要为黏着磨损,环境湿度的增大弱化了配副材料的黏着磨损。  相似文献

There have been several studies regarding the tribological behaviour of ceramics such as SiC and alumina mated against steels or self-mated. Nevertheless, only little is known about possible tribochemical reactions when ceramics are mated against steels. In the present study, ceramic pins made of SiC (EKasicF) or alumina (F99.7) respectively were tested under dry sliding conditions against different steel disc counter bodies using a pin-on-disc tribometer. The different ceramics showed significant differences in their tribological behaviour, i.e., coefficient of friction and wear amount. Especially, the SiC couples showed significant differences in the wear amounts while these were quite similar for the alumina couples. The wear behaviour of the SiC couples is discussed in more detail. A correlation between chromium content of the steel discs was found for the SiC couples. The surfaces of selected specimens were analysed by Auger-Electron-Spectroscopy (AES). Wear for the SiC couples was mainly attributed to tribochemical reactions as far as the steel disc was containing the alloying element chromium in considerable amount. 应用QG-700型高温气氛摩擦磨损试验机,研究了常温下CrNiMo钢/黄铜配副在不同氮/氧混合气氛比例条件下的干滑动摩擦磨损性能,利用扫描电子显微镜(SEM)、EDAX能谱仪(EDS)和X射线光电子能谱仪(XPS)分析其磨损机制。试验结果表明:随着氮/氧混合气氛中氧气气氛比例的增加,销试样磨损率和配副的摩擦因数整体均呈现降低趋势;磨损机制逐渐由黏着磨损和磨粒磨损向氧化磨损、磨粒磨损和黏着磨损共同作用机制转变;摩擦表面生成铁和铜的氧化物,且氧化物的成分随着氧气含量不同而有所不同。  相似文献

在销-盘式摩擦磨损试验机上分别进行了不锈钢/铜基烧结合金材料和不锈钢/铜石墨烧结材料接触的载流摩擦磨损行为的试验研究。在试验中记录了摩擦因数和磨损量的变化,并对磨痕形貌进行了光学显微镜观察。结果显示,电流对2种摩擦副带电接触的摩擦磨损行为有重要的影响。2种材料的摩擦因数随电流的增大而呈现截然相反的变化趋势,但两者的磨损量却随电流的增加而增大。不锈钢/铜基烧结合金材料的磨损机制主要是粘着磨损及氧化磨损。不锈钢/铜石墨烧结材料磨损机制包括磨粒、粘着磨损和电弧烧蚀,其中电弧烧蚀对磨损量的影响随电流的增大而增加。  相似文献

在NENE-2型磨损试验机上利用往复滚动试验装置研究了不同制动状态下车轮钢的滚动摩擦磨损特性。结果表明:不同滚滑状态下的切向摩擦力是变化的,随制动力的增加,滚动摩擦副对应的摩擦因数和摩擦阻力相应增大;平面试样的表面磨痕形貌由于切向摩擦力的变化而明显不同;随切向摩擦力的增大滚动磨损机制亦发生改变,从磨粒磨损逐渐转变为粘着磨损,磨损加剧且磨痕深度变大。  相似文献

The friction and wear behaviour of lubricated ceramic/steel couples was studied, for increasing loads, with a four-ball tester. For the steel spheres of ceramic/steel couples, a transition point to severe wear was observed, which occurred at loads four to five times higher than the transition for the corresponding steel/steel couple. The extreme-pressure behaviour for conditions of lubrication with pure hexadecane is compared with the results for lubrication with solutions containing zinc di-n-butyl dithiophosphate or zinc di-sec-butyl dithiophosphate.  相似文献

To investigate and understand the tribological behaviour of high-frequency tribosystems such as ultrasonic motors, a specific test method is necessary. This work reports on the construction of a test machine to evaluate the friction and wear behaviour of friction materials under ultrasonic fretting conditions, as well as giving some representative experimental results. Hard/soft (steel/polymer) and hard/hard (steel/alumina, alumina/alumina) couples were studied with respect to their application as contact materials in ultrasonic motors. Investigation of friction behaviour at high frequencies showed that friction-induced vibrations lead to friction forces of much lower magnitude than predicted by quasistationary friction coefficients obtained for sliding friction. The wear behaviour is characterised by abrasive, adhesive, fatigue and oxidative mechanisms, depending on the mating materials. For polymeric friction materials, the influence of fibre reinforcement and the incorporation of PTFE as a solid lubricant were evaluated. The presence of PTFE resulted in a strong improvement of both friction and wear behaviour.  相似文献

A pin-on-disc apparatus has been used to obtain continuous simultaneous measurements of the wear and friction (sliding force) behaviour of metals on bonded silicon carbide abrasive paper under conditions of controlled humidity. Iron, mild steel and copper exhibit qualitatively similar wear behaviour: the wear rate decreases progressively with the number of passes over the same track. In contrast, the wear rate of titanium remains constant. Variation in atmospheric humidity has little effect on the wear rates of copper or titanium, although a slight effect was found in mild steel and iron. A stronger dependence on humidity was found in the friction behaviour of all four metals, as well as a corresponding relationship between humidity and the specific energy required for metal removal by abrasion. Preliminary results from single-particle scratch tests reveal changes in the contact between a single silicon carbide particle and a polished iron surface at different humidity levels. Although only tentative explanations can be made at this stage for these effects, it is evident that any proposed mechanism must account for the behaviour of both the metal and the abrasive together, rather than of one component of the system alone.  相似文献

为探究水润滑条件下转速对车轮钢滚动接触疲劳和磨损性能的影响,利用滚动接触摩擦磨损试验测试不同转速下车轮试样的剥离寿命、摩擦因数和磨损率,并结合磨损形貌和裂纹扩展形貌观察,对比分析不同转速下摩擦磨损和剥离寿命的影响因素。结果表明:随转速提高,车轮材料氧化程度加剧,导致摩擦因数逐渐增加;当转速由250 r/min增至500 r/min时,摩擦因数增幅较小,应变速率增加导致磨损率下降,当转速由500 r/min增至1000 r/min时,摩擦因数急剧增加,导致材料磨损率增加;随转速提高,剖面塑性流动层厚度、裂纹扩展角度、裂纹分叉深度和最大扩展深度均呈现减小趋势。转速增加带来的摩擦因数的增加,一方面缩短裂纹萌生寿命,另一方面减小了裂纹发生向上转折的深度,最终导致滚动接触疲劳寿命随转速的增加而减小。  相似文献

运用M-200型摩擦磨损试验机测定了油润滑条件下MoSi2与45调质钢、45淬火钢和CrWMn钢配对时的摩擦磨损性能,采用扫描电镜和微探针分析了摩擦副表面的形貌,探讨了磨损机理:结果表明:采用20号机械油润滑可有效地降低MoSi2材料的磨损率及摩擦因数;与低硬度的45调质钢和45淬火钢对摩时,MoSi2材料的主要磨损机制为晶间断裂、疲劳断裂、轻微粘着磨损和磨粒磨损;MoSi2材料与高硬度的CrWMn钢对摩时,主要磨损机制表现为粘着磨损、微犁削式磨粒磨损,并在偶件表面材料凸点的前端形成楔块。  相似文献

在盘销式摩擦磨损试验机上考察了氟金云母玻璃陶瓷与轴承钢的摩擦磨损性能,在不同载荷条件下,测试了摩擦因数和玻璃陶瓷的磨损率,用金相显微镜观察和分析磨损表面形貌,并探讨了玻璃陶瓷材料的磨损机制。结果表明:在低载荷条件下,摩擦因数较低;随着载荷的增加,摩擦副的摩擦因数比较稳定,氟金云母玻璃陶瓷与轴承钢的平均摩擦因数为0.095。玻璃陶瓷和轴承钢的磨损率存在波动,其对磨过程以磨料磨损为主。  相似文献

采用销-盘式摩擦磨损试验机研究了氧化铝增强氧化锆陶瓷(ADZ)的表面粗糙度对ADZ/316L不锈钢摩擦副的摩擦磨损性能的影响。结果表明:在小牛血清润滑下,随着陶瓷表面粗糙度的降低,ADZ陶瓷和316L不锈钢的摩擦因数和磨损率均呈降低趋势。但是对于表面粗糙度最高的陶瓷,由于Fe转移膜的物理吸附,出现了“负磨损”现象。  相似文献

A series of tests on arc rate, friction coefficient, and wear rate of electrical current collectors sliding against overhead contact wires under different conditions was carried out on a high-speed friction and wear testing machine with a pin-on-disc configuration. The worn surface morphology and composition were examined using a scanning electron microscope and energy dispersion spectrum analyzer, respectively. The effects of current, velocity, and load on the arc rate, friction coefficient, and wear rate of C/C composites/QCr0.5 couples were investigated, and the influence mechanism of test parameters on C/C composites was explained. It is concluded that the wear rate increases with an increase in current and velocity and has a decreasing trend with the increase in load. The friction coefficient increases with an increase in velocity and load. The arc rate of C/C composites/QCr0.5 couples increases with an increase in current and velocity. Under the condition of the same current and velocity, when the load is 70 N, the arc rate is the lowest.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate the tribological behavior of polyethylene crosslinked by gamma radiation sliding against a steel surface. Two high-density polyethylenes were irradiated to a total dose in the range of 2?20 Mrad under vacuum and at room temperature. After irradiation, the materials were annealed at 423 K and then cooled slowly to room temperature. The same thermal treatment was applied to the non-irradiated polymer. The wear behavior of the polymers was determined under controlled ambient temperature of 298 and 333 K using a homemade tribometer. Sheet-shaped specimens were loaded against the surface of a steel disc with different normal loads to generate nominal contact pressures in the range of 0.25–1.5 MPa. The tests were performed under dry conditions using a disc rotation to produce an average sliding speed of 0.6 m/s and during a period of time to provide an average sliding distance of 1,080 m. The wear rate was obtained as the mass loss by the sample divided by the sliding distance, and the friction coefficient was determined by measuring the friction force. The results indicate that the wear rate increases with load in the case of non-irradiated polyethylene and low-dose irradiated polymers, while the wear rate reaches a maximum value with the load in the case of the irradiated samples with high doses. The samples irradiated with a dose of 10 Mrad showed the lowest wear. The coefficient of friction (COF) increases slightly with the load in all the cases. Most irradiated polymers show higher COF than the non-irradiated material when compared at a given load. The results show that the irradiation dose applied to the polyethylenes produced no noticeable effect on the COF values when a comparison was made at a given applied load.  相似文献

Abstract

The sliding dry friction behaviors and wear properties of normalized 45 steel and annealed 45 steel under different magnetic field intensities were experimentally studied using a self-made HY-100 pin–disc friction and wear tester. The influence of a magnetic field on the friction and wear of 45 steel were also investigated by analyzing the microscopic friction surface and subsurface using a 3D shape analyzer and metallographic microscope. The experimental results show that the friction coefficient of the normalized 45 steel was greater than that of the annealed 45 steel under magnetic field. In addition, the results illustrate that the external magnetic field can effectively improve the wear performance of carbon steel. The wear rate of normalized 45 steel was lower than that of annealed 45 steel. The wear performance of normalized 45 steel was more significantly improved compared to annealed 45 steel with a magnetic field. Energy spectrum analysis indicated that the effect of the magnetic field on the degree of friction and oxidative wear of the normalized 45 steel was weaker than that of the annealed 45 steel, and the ratio of oxygen to iron and the oxidation area on the friction surface of the normalized 45 steel were smaller. It is believed that as an oxidation protectant, carbon reduces the oxidation wear of 45 steel. The carbon on the normalized 45 steel surface was uniformly distributed and the protective effect of friction surface was better. Therefore, the oxidation wear and oxide shedding were reduced and the wear performance was improved.  相似文献

钢轨损伤一直是铁路运输中的一个关键问题,损伤类型主要是钢轨压溃、侧磨、波磨和剥离,占钢轨损伤量的80%以上。探讨了这几种钢轨的损伤形式,认为钢轨损伤加剧主要是因为轮轨之间表面摩擦力的增加所致;提高钢轨材质是预防钢轨损伤的最主要方法。  相似文献
