Profile error of free-form surface is evaluated in this paper based on sequential quadratic programming (SQP) algorithm. The optimal localization model is established with the minimum zone criterion firstly. Subsequently, the surface subdivision method or STL (STeror Lithography) model is used to compute the point-to-surface distance and the approximate linear differential movement model of signed distance is deduced to simplify the updating process of alignment parameters. Finally, the optimization model on profile error evaluation of free-form surface is solved with SQP algorithm. Simulation examples indicate that the results acquired by SQP method are closer to the ideal results than the other algorithms in the problem of solving transformation parameters. In addition, real part experiments show that the maximum distance between the measurement points and their corresponding closest points on the design model is shorter by using SQP-based algorithm. Lastly, the results obtained in the experiment of the workpiece with S form illustrate that the SQP-based profile error evaluation algorithm can dramatically reduce the iterations and keep the precision of result simultaneously. Furthermore, a simulation is conducted to test the robustness of the proposed method. In a word, this study purposes a new algorithm which is of high accuracy and less time-consuming.  相似文献

Surface roughness has an important role in the performance of finished components. End ball milling is used for achieving high surface quality, especially in complex geometries. Depending on the cutting conditions selected for ball end milling, different milling strategies can be applied. The produced surface quality is greatly affected from the selected milling strategy. The present paper examines the influence of the milling strategy selection on the surface roughness of an Al7075-T6 alloy. A number of cutting parameters are tested (axial and radial depth of cut, feed rate, inclination angles φ and ω) in order to perform 96 experiments and their results are processed using regression analysis and analysis of variance. All possible milling strategies are considered (vertical, push, pull, oblique, oblique push and oblique pull) and for each one of them, a mathematical model of the surface roughness is established, considering both the down and up milling. All models are statistically validated and experimentally verified, and can be used within the limits of the investigating cutting conditions. The polynomials produced are of the third order and the statistically most significant parameters are presented.

Robust parameter design (RPD) has recently been applied in modern industries in a large deal of processes. This technique is occasionally employed as a multiobjective optimization approach using weighted sums as a trade-off strategy; in such cases, however, a considerable number of gaps have arisen. In this paper, the use of normal boundary intersection (NBI) method coupled with mean-squared error (MSE) functions is proposed. This approach is capable of generating equispaced Pareto frontiers for a bi-objective robust design model, independent of the relative scales of the objective functions. To verify the adequacy of this proposal, a central composite design (CCD) is developed with combined arrays for the AISI 1045 steel end milling process. In this case study, a CCD with three noise factors and four control factors are used to create the mean and variance equations for MSE of two quality characteristics. The numerical results indicate the NBI-MSE approach is capable of generating a convex and equispaced Pareto frontier to MSE functions of surface roughness, thus nullifying the drawbacks of weighted sums. Moreover, the results show that the achieved optimum lessens the sensitivity of the end milling process to the variability transmitted by the noise factors.  相似文献

The surface roughness of a milled surface is an important response parameter in finishing milling. The quality of injected products, such as cell phones, laptops, digital cameras greatly depends on the finishing of the molds. The Ra parameter is one of the most commonly used criteria to determine the quality of milled steel. In this study, experiments were carried out on work pieces of AISI P20 steel with 20 × 20 × 10 mm. Solid carbide tools with a diameter of 6 mm were used in the experimental tests. The input parameters were the radial depth of cut, feed rate, and contact angle. The contact angle varied using a special device to simulate the several inclinations in a free-form surface. The results showed that the milled surface is a three-dimensional geometry that is influenced by many parameters. The most important input parameter for the surface roughness, however, is the feed rate, and depending on the measuring direction; the feed rate can have a significant influence on the finishing.  相似文献
