The friction and wear behavior of sliding bearings made from high temperature thermoplastics was investigated to determine the possibility of dry sliding applications. A test apparatus for plain bearing testing was designed and built to enable load, speed, and temperature to be controlled and temperature, friction and wear to be continuously monitored.Bulk material bearings (polyaryletherketone-based composites and neat polybenzimidazole) and metal-thermoplastic compound bearings with a sliding layer of polyetheretherketone were investigated. Their suitability for dry sliding bearing applications was assessed using the values of friction coefficient, wear rate and friction induced temperature.In general, the operating performance is mainly influenced by the operating conditions and the precise construction of the bearing. A fiber reinforcement of the thermoplastic matrix is necessary at high loads, whereas it is unnecessary at low loads. A further increase of the operational limits is made possible by improving the heat conduction from the contact area, as comparison with results of pin-on-disk investigations indicates. The materials tested provide operation of dry sliding bearings to temperatures over 200°C.  相似文献

A thin layer of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) or UHMWPE + PFPE is coated onto cylindrical aluminium (Al) pin (4.6 mm diametre) surface with the aim of providing wear resistant coating on this soft and tribologically poor metal. The coefficient of friction and wear life of the coated samples are investigated on a pin-on-disk tribometre under different normal loads (394–622 g) and two sliding speeds (0.1 and 0.31 m/s) against uncoated Al disk as the counterface. Both coatings provide coefficient of friction values in the range of 0.02–0.2 as compared to 0.4–1.0 for uncoated Al. There is tremendous improvement in the wear life of the pin, with UHMWPE + PFPE film giving wear life approximately twice to thrice higher than that with only UHMWPE film. A thin polymer film is transferred to the disk surface during sliding providing very long-term wear life (continuous low coefficient of friction) despite visual removal of the film from the pin surface. The present films will have applications in gears and bearings as solid or boundary lubricants for automotive and aerospace component.  相似文献

针对纤维填料改性UHMWPE水润滑轴承的摩擦磨损性能进行研究。在平面摩擦磨损试验机上对玻璃纤维及碳纤维填料对UHMWPE复合材料摩擦性能进行试验,并分析GF-CF-UHMWPE材料与Thordon SXL材料在干摩擦、水润滑工况下的摩擦因数及磨损量。最后,采用径向水润滑轴承试验台对比研究了GF-CF-UHMWPE轴承和Thordon SXL轴承在不同载荷下摩擦因数随转速的变化规律。结果表明:纤维填料能显著增强UHMWPE的减摩性和耐磨性,GF-CF-UHMWPE材料具有更好的耐温性能,线性热膨胀系数也显著减小;GF-CF-UHMWPE轴承具有相同载荷下启动转速低,启动摩擦因数小的特性。  相似文献

大型装备上的铜镍锡合金工件常常工作在润滑不足或者无润滑的工况条件下,因此有必要研究铜镍锡材料在干摩擦下的性能。采用CEF-I型销-盘式磨损试验机对铜镍锡合金在不同载荷与转速条件下进行干滑动摩擦磨损试验,采用扫面电子显微镜、能谱仪和轮廓检测仪对磨损表面进行检测,研究铜镍锡合金的干滑动磨损行为,并探讨其磨损机制。结果表明:在转速一定时,平均摩擦因数随载荷增大总体呈波动下降趋势,铜镍锡合金试件磨损量先缓慢增加,在较高载荷下快速增加;在载荷一定时,平均摩擦因数随转速增大先增大后减小,铜镍锡合金试件磨损量总体呈先减小后增大趋势;随着载荷的增大,铜镍锡合金的磨损机制由轻微黏着和剥层磨损到明显的黏着和剥层磨损,再到严重的黏着和疲劳磨损,随着转速的增大,铜镍锡合金的磨损机制由磨粒磨损转变为黏着磨损再到剥层磨损。在较低载荷下,随着转速的增大,铜镍锡合金摩擦磨损性能保持很好的稳定性,因此铜镍锡合金适用在高转速较低载荷的干摩擦工况下。  相似文献

采用自制的销盘式干滑动摩擦磨损试验机,研究了不同硬度炮钢材料PCrNiMo自配副时的摩擦磨损特性。研究结果表明:材料的磨损率随着速度、载荷的增加而增大,摩擦因数随着速度、载荷的增加而减小;低速低载条件下,接触表面以磨粒磨损为主,而在高速、高载条件下,接触表面以粘着磨损形式为主。  相似文献

在简述球轴承摩擦的基础上,对钢球与沟道接触的滑动摩擦进行了研究,推导出了其滑动摩擦系数的计算公式,指出了阿蒙顿-库仑(Amontons-Coulomb)摩擦定理的缺陷,否定人们通常认为给定材料的两接触物体滑动摩擦系数是一常量的观点,证明了钢球-沟道接触的滑动摩擦系数是一个变量,为科学地确定球轴承现代设计中钢球与沟道接触的滑动摩擦系数,使人们对普遍物理意义上的滑动摩擦更深入地进行认识,提供了科学的依据。  相似文献

为选择适合的高水基乳化液液压阀摩擦副材料,探讨ZrO2与不同结构陶瓷组成的摩擦副在高水基乳化液润滑状态下的摩擦磨损特性。采用摩擦磨损试验机,在不同载荷和滑动速度下,研究在高水基乳化液介质中4种不同陶瓷材料(ZrO2、Al2O3、Si3N4和SiC)分别与ZrO2配副的摩擦学性能,并探讨不同组合陶瓷摩擦副的磨损机制。结果表明:在高水基乳化液中,各陶瓷的摩擦因数均随着滑动速度的增大而降低,其中Al2O3陶瓷的摩擦因数最小;ZrO2、Al2O3和Si3N4陶瓷的摩擦因数受载荷的影响较小,SiC陶瓷的摩擦因数则随着载荷的增大而骤增;各陶瓷的磨损体积都随着速度和载荷的增大而增大,其中Al2O3/ZrO2陶瓷摩擦副的磨损体积最小,其磨损机制以磨粒磨损和微疲劳磨损为主。研究表明,在不同工况下,Al2O3与ZrO2陶瓷配副的摩擦因数和磨损体积均为最低值,更适合作为高水基乳化液液压阀的摩擦副材料。  相似文献

The effects of sliding velocity, heat-treatment and graphite shape on sliding wear of graphite crystallized chromium white cast iron were studied. Two types of graphite crystallized chromium white cast irons having flaky or spheroidal and another type of 2.6C–15Cr white cast iron were prepared for this study. The effect of sliding velocity on wear resistance was studied by the Okoshi type and pin-on-disk type wear tests on materials which have experienced “as cast” and “heat-treated” conditions. The Okoshi type wear test results are divided into two relationships depending on sliding velocity or distance. Two regimes, initial wear and steady-state wear, existed for wear loss and sliding distance. A characteristic form of wear curve with a peak and a minimum was obtained when correlating wear loss and sliding velocity. The wear resistance of graphite crystallized chromium white cast irons were superior to that of 2.6C–15Cr white cast iron. In the results of pin-on-disk tests, there was no clear difference in the reported wear loss and friction coefficient among the alloys. However, an opposite tendency has appeared in the wear loss and friction coefficient: the wear loss value reached a peak in the wear curve at 0.52 m/s, while the friction coefficient reached a minimum at 0.52 m/s.  相似文献

采用MRH-3环块磨损试验机对FM-510二硫化钼润滑涂层在于摩擦及有油条件下进行了摩擦磨损性能的考察和评价,评价结果表明:该涂层在干摩擦条件下具有低的摩擦系数、高的承载能力和长的耐磨寿命,摩擦系数随负荷增高而降低,随速度提高也降低。摩擦偶对双面涂膜比单面涂膜有更长的耐磨寿命,速度低时涂层的磨耗小,寿命长,可满足特定条件下的干摩擦工作要求,在有油润滑条件下二硫化钼基的FM-510润滑涂层可显减轻对偶磨损程度,摩擦系数比单独使用油润滑时大大降低。在难以形成连续的流体润滑薄膜,亦即不能形成流体动力润滑的情况下。摩擦偶对涂敷固体润滑涂层是解决其润滑问题的有效方案。  相似文献

The wear mechanisms of two different polymeric composites sliding against metal were investigated experimentally. The sliding distance, normal force and sliding speed were the test variables.Microscope observations showed that the mode of wear of the two materials is similar. Subsurface deformation, crack nucleation at the matrixharder particle or matrix-glass fibre interface, crack propagation parallel to the surface at a depth corresponding to the friction coefficient and crack shearing to the surface were found in both materials. The wear particles often have the shape of thin sheets. Comparison of the metal subsurfaces and wear particles with those of the polymers indicates that the mechanism of wear of semicrystalline composites is similar to delamination wear. Since film transfer greatly influences friction and wear it should be considered together with crack growth in fatigue in the prediction of wear of polymeric composites.  相似文献

为了比较两种含量不同的碳化硼颗粒增强铝基复合材料的摩擦学性能,将其加工成销试样,在多功能摩擦磨损试验机上分别与钢盘试样进行对比摩擦磨损试验,重点研究了接触载荷和相对滑动速度对两种复合材料摩擦磨损性能的影响.结果表明:碳化硼增强铝基复合材料的磨损量随载荷与相对滑动速度的增大而增大,而摩擦因数随载荷与相对滑动速度的增大而减小,较高碳化硼含量的复合材料的耐磨性能比较低含量的复合材料好.  相似文献

利用超音速火焰喷涂(HVOF)工艺制备了WC-Co涂层,测定了涂层孔隙率、显微硬度及干摩擦磨损过程中涂层材料失重,得出涂层干摩擦因数随时间的变化关系,分析了涂层摩擦磨损机制。结果表明,WC-Co涂层致密,平均孔隙率为1.29%,显微硬度达1140HV(测试载荷2.94N),干摩擦条件下材料失重低于电镀Cr镀层2个数量级;摩擦初期,干摩擦因数迅速增加,主要磨损特征是粘结相富Co区的犁沟切削,摩擦中后期,摩擦副间实际接触面积增大,摩擦因数变化较小,磨损趋于稳定。WC-Co涂层的主要磨损机制是疲劳磨损和犁沟切削。  相似文献

超低温介质中工作的轴承由于不能采用润滑油或脂润滑,其球环材料配副摩擦磨损特性将对轴承的工作性能产生很大影响。采用球盘点接触形式,在5 N载荷和0.4 m/s相对滑动速度下试验研究了超低温全钢轴承和混合式轴承中9Cr18/9Cr18和Si3N4/9Cr18两种球环配副在常温干摩擦和液氮环境中的摩擦磨损性能。结果表明9Cr18/9Cr18配副在低温下由于粘着趋势减弱而使摩擦因数和磨损均低于常温下。Si3N4/9Cr18配副在低温介质中由于试件表面吸附、氧化和摩擦化学反应受到抑制使摩擦因数高于常温下,同样由于无摩擦化学磨损发生,而只是以脆性断裂为主,其磨损低于常温下。Si3N4/9Cr18在常温下摩擦因数低于9Cr18/9Cr18配副,而在低温下则高于9Cr18/9Cr18配副。2种环境中陶瓷/钢配副的磨损均小于相应条件下钢/钢配副的磨损。  相似文献

The friction and wear behavior of planar random zinc-alloy matrix composites reinforced by discontinuous carbon fibres under dry sliding and lubricated sliding conditions has been investigated using a block-on-ring apparatus. The effects of fibre volume fractions and loads on the sliding wear resistance of the zinc-alloy matrix composites were studied. Experiments were performed within a load range of 50–300 N at a constant sliding velocity of 0.8 m s−1. The composites with different volume fractions of carbon fibres (0–30%) were used as the block specimens, and a medium-carbon steel used as the ring specimen. Increasing the carbon fibre volume fraction significantly decreased the coefficient of friction and wear rates of both the composites and the medium-carbon steel under dry sliding conditions. Under lubricated sliding conditions, however, increasing the carbon fibre volume fraction substantially increased the coefficient of friction, and slightly increased the wear of the medium-carbon steel, while reducing the wear of the composite.Under dry sliding conditions, an increasing load increased not only the wear rates of both the composite and the unreinforced zinc alloy, but also those of their corresponding steel rings. However, the rate of increase of wear with increasing load for both the composite and its corresponding steel ring was much smaller than for the unreinforced zinc alloy and its corresponding steel ring. The coefficient of friction under dry sliding conditions appeared to be constant as load increased within a load range of 50–150 N for both the composite and the unreinforced zinc alloy, but increased at the higher loads. Under any load the coefficient of friction of the composite was lower than half that of the unreinforced zinc alloy under dry sliding conditions.  相似文献

The tribological behaviour of different ceramics in contact with steel was studied for the case of oscillating sliding motion with a ball-on-disc apparatus. The influence of several test condition parameters was investigated by a systematic variation of the stroke, frequency, and normal load at room temperature in laboratory air at different levels of relative humidity. Each of the four parameters was varied in three stages. While the coefficient of friction was only mildly influenced by the operational variables, the coefficient of wear showed great variations and depended strongly on the humidity of the surrounding air. The effect of the operational variables and of the humidity on friction and wear varied for the different materials under investigation.  相似文献

为提高水润滑轴承的承载能力,利用水凝胶在水润滑条件下的水合作用来改善热塑性聚氨酯(TPU)轴承材料的摩擦学性能。利用聚乙烯醇、海藻酸钠、壳聚糖等材料制备水凝胶颗粒,并通过熔融共混法制备水凝胶/TPU复合材料;在0.3和0.5 MPa的载荷下测试复合材料的摩擦磨损性能,利用激光干涉表面轮廓仪和扫描电子显微镜观察其磨损表面形貌,分析其磨损机制。结果表明:水凝胶微粒可以通过水合润滑改善摩擦副的润滑条件,从而降低摩擦因数和磨损量,提高复合材料的摩擦性能;水凝胶质量分数4%时复合材料具有最佳的摩擦磨损性能,其在0.3和0.5 MPa工况下相对于TPU试样的平均摩擦因数减少率分别为52.31%和43.94%。研究结果为开发高性能水润滑轴承材料提供了一种方法。  相似文献

利用 Instron5944型电子万能材料试验机和自制的关节轴承摩擦磨损试验机,研究磷酸酯偶联剂接枝改性处理衬垫对自润滑关节轴承黏接性能和摩擦磨损性能的影响。结果表明:磷酸酯偶联剂接枝改性处理衬垫可以有效提高轴承衬垫的黏接性能;自润滑关节轴承的摩擦磨损性能与摆动频率呈现明显的相关性,摩擦因数和磨损量均随摆动频率的增大而减小,而摩擦温度随之升高;衬垫经改性处理的轴承摩擦因数、磨损量以及摩擦温升均明显降低,表明衬垫经改性处理后改善了自润滑关节轴承的摩擦学性能。  相似文献

The progress in aerospace field requires a new NiAl matrix composite that can stand against wear and decrease the energy dissipation through decreasing friction. In this study, the tribological behavior of NiAl–1.5 wt% graphene composite is investigated at room temperature under a constant load of 12 N and different sliding velocities. The results show that the friction coefficient and wear rate increase with increasing sliding velocity from 0.2 to 0.4 m/s due to the adhesion between the sliding bodies and tearing of the graphene layer. The friction coefficient and wear rate tend to decrease at a sliding velocity of 0.6 m/s as a result of severe plastic deformation and grain refinement of the worn surface. However, at 0.8 m/s the friction coefficient reaches a minimum value and the wear rate increases and changes the wear mechanism to fatigue wear. It can be concluded that various wear mechanisms lead to different tribological performance of NiAl–1.5 wt% graphene composite.  相似文献
