The problems associated with conventional (cylindrical) fluidized beds, viz., fluidization of wider size range of particles, entrainment of particles and limitation of fluidization velocity could be overcome by using tapered fluidized beds. Limited work has been carried out to study the hydrodynamics of single materials with uniform size particles in tapered beds. In the present work, an attempt has been made to study the hydrodynamic characteristics of binary mixtures of homogeneous and heterogeneous regular particles (glass bead and sago) in tapered fluidized beds having different tapered angles. Correlations have been developed for critical fluidization velocity and maximum bed pressure drop for gas–solid tapered fluidized beds for binary mixtures of regular particles. Model predictions were compared with experimental data, which were in good agreement.  相似文献

Recently, tapered fluidized bed has become more attractive because of the problems associated with conventional (cylindrical) beds like fluidization of widely distributed particles, entrainment of particles and limitation of fluidization velocity. There have been some investigations on hydrodynamics of uniform single size particles but there have been no detailed studies of homogeneous binary mixture of particles of different sizes and different particles in tapered beds. In the present work, an attempt has been made to study the hydrodynamic characteristics of homogeneous binary mixture of irregular particles in tapered beds having different tapered angles. Correlations have been developed for important characteristics, especially critical fluidization velocities and maximum bed pressure drops of homogeneous binary mixture of irregular particles in gas-solid tapered fluidized beds. Experimental values of critical fluidization velocities and maximum bed pressure drops have been compared with the developed correlations.  相似文献

Prediction of hydrodynamic characteristics is a prerequisite in the design and operation of tapered and mini-tapered fluidized beds. This paper has been focused on the development of generalized models for prediction of minimum fluidization velocity and maximum pressure drop in gas–solid tapered and mini-tapered fluidized beds. The empirical correlations were developed based on dimensionless analysis of empirical data. These correlations have the ability to predict the minimum fluidization velocity and maximum pressure drop in both tapered and cylindrical beds (the beds with tapered angle of zero). The empirical data were collected from tapered beds with different cone angles for various particles. The predicting capability of correlations has been discussed. Predicted values of minimum fluidization velocity and maximum pressure drop by the proposed models compared well with the empirical data. The effects of tapered angle are also discussed.  相似文献

Studies in the expansion behaviour of tapered fluidized bed systems are important for specifying the height of the bed. Data have been obtained on the expanded heights of tapered fluidized beds and bed expansion ratios for spherical and non-spherical particles have been calculated. Based on dimensional analysis, models have been developed as a function of geometry of tapered bed, static bed height, particle diameter, density of solid and gas and superficial velocity of the fluidizing medium. The data used to derive the models cover a wide range of operating conditions, with varying fluidization velocities. Effects of static bed height, particle diameter, density, tapered angle and superficial gas velocity over minimum fluidization velocity on bed expansion ratios have been investigated experimentally. A comparison has been made between the calculated values of bed expansion ratios using proposed models and the experimental data. It has been seen that calculated values by models agree well with the experimental values. Models have also been compared with literature data of conventional bed and found its applicability at higher gas velocities with good accuracy.  相似文献

在环隙流化(AFB)床中,应用实验测量技术研究了床层压降和床层膨胀曲线以及最小流化速度的变化规律.研究结果显示,在升速流化时,随着气速增大,床层压降和床层膨胀比也随之增大,当气速超过一定值时,纳米TiO2颗粒完全流化,压降波动和床层膨胀比趋于平稳.最小流化速度随着纳米TiO2质量的增加而增大.  相似文献

在内径4.3, 5.5, 10.5, 15.5, 20.5和25.5 mm的6个气固微小流化床中,考察了石英砂和不同粒径的催化裂化催化剂的流化特性. 研究了流化床尺寸、颗粒及流化介质物性对微小流化床床层压降及最小流化速度的影响. 结果表明,不同颗粒及流化介质的微小流化床床层压降实验值均小于计算值. 传统的压降关联式不能直接用于微小流化床. 其最小流化速度随床径减小呈指数增大,在高径比1:1~3:1范围内,最小流化速度随料高增大近似呈线性增大,其增大速度随床径增大而变缓. 基于实验数据得出了微小流化床最小流化速度的关联式.  相似文献

A novel rotating distributor fluidized bed is presented. The distributor is a rotating perforated plate, with 1% open-area ratio. This work evaluates the performance of this new design, considering pressure drop, Δp, and quality of fluidization. Bed fluidization was easily achieved with the proposed device, improving the solid mixing and the quality of fluidization.In order to examine the effect of the rotational speed of the distributor plate on the hydrodynamic behavior of the bed, minimum fluidization velocity, Umf, and pressure fluctuations were analyzed. Experiments were conducted in the bubbling free regime in a 0.19 m i.d. fluidized bed, operating with Group B particles according to Geldart's classification. The pressure drop across the bed and the standard deviation of pressure fluctuations, σp, were used to find the minimum fluidization velocity, Umf. A decrease in Umf is observed when the rotational speed increases and a rise in the measured pressure drop was also found. Frequency analysis of pressure fluctuations shows that fluidization can be controlled by the adjustable rotational speed, at several excess gas velocities.Measurements with several initial static bed heights were taken, in order to analyze the influence of the initial bed mass inventory, over the effect of the distributor rotation on the bed hydrodynamics.  相似文献

Gas–solid fluidization has a wide range of industrial applications like catalytic reactions, combustion, gasification, etc. In a number of these applications, there is particle size reduction during the operation leading to severe entrainment and limitation of operating velocity. The various problems associated with particles of different sizes or changing particles sizes could be overcome by adopting tapered beds in fluidization operation. In the present investigation, the fluidization phenomenon in tapered beds has been critically assessed through experimental investigations using particles of different sizes and materials and wide range of apex angles of the vessels. The effect of particle size and apex angle on the fluidization behaviour is clearly brought out which has not been reported so far in literature. The importance of compressive force existing in tapered beds is highlighted. In addition, correlations for all hydrodynamic characteristics, viz. critical fluidization velocity, minimum velocity for full fluidization, maximum velocity for defluidization, peak pressure drop, fluctuation ratio, compressive force, and hysteresis have been developed some of which are proposed for the first time.  相似文献

通过添加磁性大颗粒,破碎活塞及沟流,显著改善了非磁性粘性颗粒在磁场流化床中的流化性能。为了评价非磁性粘性颗粒在磁场流化床中的流化性能,测量了最小流化速度、床层压力降和床膨胀高度。实验结果表明,非磁性粘性颗粒的最小流化速度,由于添加磁性大颗粒,而显著降低。磁性大颗粒添加量对非磁性粘性颗粒的最小流化速度有较大影响,随磁性大颗粒添加量的增加,最小流化速度降低,但当磁性大颗粒添加量增大到40%后,非磁性粘性颗粒和磁性大颗粒的混合物的最小流化速度就不再降低。  相似文献

With computational fluid dynamics (CFD) it is possible to get a detailed view of the flow behaviour of the fluidized beds. A profound and fundamental understanding of bed dynamics such as bed pressure drop, bed expansion ratio, bed fluctuation ratio, and minimum fluidization velocity of homogeneous binary mixtures has been made in a semi‐cylindrical fluidized column for gas–solid systems, resulting in a predictive model for fluidized beds. In the present work attempt has been made to study the effect of different system parameters (viz., size and density of the bed materials and initial static bed height) on the bed dynamics. The correlations for the bed expansion and bed fluctuations have been developed on the basis of dimensional analysis using these system parameters. Computational study has also been carried out using a commercial CFD package Fluent (Fluent, Inc.). A multifluid Eulerian model incorporating the kinetic theory for solid particles was applied in order to simulate the gas–solid flow. CFD simulated bed pressure drop has been compared with the experimental bed pressure drops under different conditions for which the results show good agreements.  相似文献

在百年流态化的研究过程中,涉及到直径不同的流化床。但是,多以流化床的大型化为研究目标,对微型流化床及其本身特性的研究很少。作为专门处理固体颗粒的流态化单元过程,其装置的微型化将兼具微通道反应器和宏观流化床各自的优点,是流态化研究的重要方向。鉴于气固微型流化床已有全面的国内外进展综述,本文仅对液固和气液固微型流化床的国内外研究进展进行分析。结论性内容包括:液固微型流化床床径减小,壁面效应增强,最小流化液速实验值大于Ergun公式计算值;需对描述液固均匀膨胀流化规律的Richardson-Zaki方程加以修正。气液固微型流化床内存在4种典型流型:半流化、弹状流、分散鼓泡流和液体输送流;由于床径减小,出现半流化状态,依据压降表观液速关系曲线等无法确定最小流化液速;气液固微型流化床的反应性能得以有效提升;最后给出了进一步研究的方向,以期为后续研究提供参考。  相似文献

Three-dimensional simulations have been carried out to examine the gas–particle flow behavior of tobacco material in a fluidized bed dryer. The Euler–Euler model has been used to study the distribution of particles in the fluidized bed dryer. The simulation results indicate that tobacco particles usually concentrate in the near-wall region, and there exists a maximum particle concentration in the feed pipe. The predictions on the regions with high concentration of particles in the fluidized bed dryer agree well with the experimental findings. Moreover, this kind of dynamic particle aggregation might lead to particle clusters, and investigations of the particle motion and mixing behavior in the simulated systems indicate that there are particle clusters during fluidization. The diverse nature of clusters enriches the flow behaviors of particles and consequently leads to the macro-scale heterogeneity featuring fast fluidization: dilute at the top and dense at the bottom in the axial direction as well as the core–annulus structure in the radial direction. Therefore, the particle clusters is one of the key problems in drying processes, which must be known for understanding the material distribution inside the dryer, as well as for the system design of fluidized bed dryers. According to the results, some improvements on the fluidized bed dryer have been brought out and the relative numerical experiments have been performed. The numerical experiments show that the improvements can realize better uniformity and lead to a decrease in the particle concentration, which provides useful ways to solve the clustering problem.  相似文献

利用内径150 mm的D型有机玻璃流化床模型,对澳矿、巴西矿、北方矿和钒钛矿典型铁矿粉的流化特性进行了实验研究,获得了其流化特性曲线、初始流化速度和最大床层压降,并将初始流化速度的实测值和理论计算值进行了比较分析. 结果表明,矿粉粒度是影响其流化特性的最主要因素,粒径越大,床层所需要的初始流化速度越大,实测值和理论估算值基本相符;粒度小于0.125 mm钒钛矿流动性较差,在流化过程中易出现沟流现象;粒度范围较宽的矿粉,完全流态化时,细矿粉随气流夹带逸出明显;在粒度相同的情况下,几种不同的铁矿粉的开始流化速度接近,而床层压降有较大差异,巴西矿的床层压降明显大于其他三种铁矿粉. 最大床层压降的最小值均出现在粒度为0.25~0.425 mm,为铁矿粉流态化还原过程中较适宜的粒度范围.  相似文献

The pressure balance along the solid circulation loop of a circulating fluidized bed equipped with a solid flux regulating device has been modelled and the influence of the pressure balance on the riser behaviour has been predicted.The solid circulation loop has been divided into many sections, where the pressure drop was calculated independently: riser, cyclone, standpipe, control device and return duct. A new theoretical model, that is able to predict the pressure losses in the return path of the solid from the standpipe to the riser, has been built. A new correlation for cyclone pressure loss with very high solid loads has been found on the basis of experimental data.The pressure loss in the riser has been calculated by imposing the closure of the pressure balance, ΣΔP = 0. Once the riser pressure drop had been calculated, the holdup distribution along the riser was obtained by imposing a particular shape of the profile, according to the different fluid-dynamics regimes (fast fluidization or pneumatic transport). In the first case, an exponential decay was imposed and the bottom holdup was adjusted to fit the total pressure drop, in the second case, the height of the dense zone was instead varied.The experimental data was used to develop the sub-models for the various loop sections have been obtained in a 100 mm i.d. riser, 6 m high, CFB. The solid was made of Geldart B group alumina particles. The tests were carried out with a gas velocity that ranged between 2 and 4 m/s and a solid flux that ranged between 20 and 170 kg/m2s. A good agreement was found between the model and experimental data.  相似文献

The initial fluidization characteristics of gas‐liquid‐solid minifluidized beds (MFBs) were experimentally investigated based on the analyses of bed pressure drop and visual observations. The results show that ULmf in 3–5 mm MFBs can not be determined due to the extensive pressure drop fluctuations resulting from complex bubble behavior. For 8–10 mm MFBs, ULmf can be confirmed from both datum analyses of pressure drop and Hurst exponent at low superficial gas velocity. But at high superficial gas velocity, ULmf was not obtained because the turning point at which the flow regime changes from the packed bed to the fluidized bed disappeared, and the bed was in a half fluidization state. Complex bubble growth behavior resulting from the effect of properties of gas‐liquid mixture and bed walls plays an important role in the fluidization of solid particles and leads to the reduction of ULmf. 在内径188 mm、静床高400 mm的搅拌流化床中,采用Geldart D类颗粒为实验物料,通过小波分析研究了不同气速和搅拌桨转速下搅拌流化床的压力脉动行为.实验发现,搅拌桨的转动作用促使在普通流化床中不易散式流态化的D类颗粒形成了散式流态化.随着气速的增加,第1尺度的小波能量特征值在某一个气速范围内发生急剧变化,进而提出了将该气速范围的下限和上限分别定义为临界鼓泡速度和充分鼓泡速度的判据.随搅拌转速的增加,散式流态化的气速操作范围线性增加.在鼓泡流态化状态下,气速是流化床气泡行为的主导因素,搅拌桨转速的增加对气泡产生的频率无明显影响但可使气泡的直径变小.  相似文献

Very little data of minimum fluidization velocity at elevated temperatures of tapered bed are available in the literature. This study was undertaken to provide some data under elevated temperature conditions in tapered bed. Data on minimum fluidization velocity have been obtained experimentally for temperature up to 800 °C in case of 0.5 mm diameter of sand particles and up to 500 °C in case of 1 mm diameter of glass beads in tapered bed. An equation valid for the bed has been developed in terms of Archimedes number and Reynolds number. The experimental values for minimum fluidization velocity at elevated temperatures have been compared with the calculated values obtained from present equation and from earlier equations developed by other authors for ambient conditions in conventional (cylindrical) bed and tapered bed. Fairly good agreement was found to exist between the calculated (from present equation) and the experimental values.  相似文献
