The non-linear optical material N-Benzyl-3-nitroaniline was synthesized and grown through an aqueous solution using a low temperature solution growth technique. This conforming monoclinic crystal structure with the P21 space group was established by the characterization study of single crystal X-ray diffraction. A powder X-ray diffraction analysis was performed to confirm crystalline nature. As one of the functioning groups of nitro-aniline revealed using the Fourier transform infrared spectrum and the prominent spectral band seen at 3404 cm?1 is caused by stretching vibrations of the N–H group. The lower cut-off wavelength of the ultra violet-visible absorption and emission spectrum was found to be about 320 nm as the excitation of fluorescence and the emission of blue and red colors are expected at 459 nm and 688 nm. To determine the difference in energy between HOMO and LUMO by 9.6258, using the B3LYP/6-311G++ (d,p) method. The time-based DFT technique was used to calculate the first-order hyperpolarization (β)?=?1.214?×?10–30 esu. Thermo gravimetric and differential thermal analysis measurements were used to determine the crystal’s moisturing toughness up to 282.87 °C. The relative dielectric constant changes with frequency. Kurtz Perry’s method confirmed 1.66 times the efficiency of second harmonic generation to this present crystal comparing KDP crystal. This data shows that there is a significant amount of promise that is used in optoelectronic materials.

制备了一种新型非线性光学晶体二甲亚砜合硫氰酸汞锰(分子式MnHg(SCN)4(C2H6SO)2,简称MMTD).用热重法、差热分析法、差示扫描量热法、热机械分析法、分光光度法和红外光谱研究了它的热学和光学性质.MMTD晶体具有较好的物理化学稳定性.在27℃时,它的比热为699.5 J/mol·℃.晶体的热膨胀系数为α1=5.33×10-5/℃,α2=4.51×10-5/℃,α3=3.10×10-5/℃.MMTD晶体的截止波长为375nm;透光波段为375-2560 nm.MMTD晶体在标准紫光波长404nm的透过率为44.18%,高于硫氰酸汞锰(MMTC)晶体.  相似文献

For the first time the growth of dichlorobis (thiourea) zinc(II) (ZTC) monocrystal in presence of Phenol red dye of considerably good size (~13 mm?×?5 mm) has been achieved from aqueous solution using slow evaporation solution technique at room temperature. The solubility was calculated at different temperatures. The crystal structure was confirmed through X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystallinity of the dyed crystals has been enhanced revealed by Powder X-ray diffraction study. The presence of dye was inveterate by FT-IR and FT-Raman spectroscopic studies. The scanning electron microscopy analyses show that the grown crystals with dye are better than pure. Diffused reflectance was measured and optical band gap was calculated found to be enhanced from 4.5 to 4.65 eV for dyed crystals. The enhancement in the PL intensity has been observed in the dyed crystals. DSC study shows that the thermal stability has been remarkably enhanced from 163?°C (pure) to 203?°C (dyed) and various other thermal parameters are calculated. The surface study shows that the grown crystals with dye possess less dislocation than pure. Mechanical strength of the dyed crystal is found to be remarkably enhanced. Third-order nonlinear optical susceptibility (χ3) of PRZTC was found to be 2 times higher than pure. All results suggest that the properties of ZTC crystals grown in presence of dye are enhanced and can be considered as better contender in various nonlinear devices.  相似文献

A single crystal of dipotassium boro maleate (DKBM) was grown using slow evaporation method. The solubility of DKBM was determined for various temperatures. The structure of the grown crystal was confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction (SXRD) and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) techniques. The Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) study reveals the various functional groups present in the grown crystal. The UV-Vis-NIR spectra revealed the transmission properties of the grown crystal. Thermal stability of the crystal was investigated using thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The nonlinear optical (NLO) property of the crystal was confirmed by powder second harmonic generation (SHG) test.  相似文献

Bulk organic intramolecular charge transfer nonlinear optical single crystal of 2-(2,4-dimethoxybenzylidene) malononitrile (DMM) with the sizes of 24?×?18?×?13 mm3 have been successfully grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique at 35 °C using acetone as the solvent. The lattice parameters of the grown DMM crystal was evaluated by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The optical transmittance (T) data was taken from the well-polished crystal of DMM, and cut-off wavelength (λ?=?483 nm) was identified by UV–Vis spectral studies. Thermal stability and melting point (145.78 °C) were studied with TGA–DSC analysis. The low value of the dielectric constant (εr) of DMM suggests that the crystal can be used in the microelectronics industry. The laser-induced damage threshold experiment shows that the grown DMM bulk crystal possess an excellent resistance to laser radiation with a high threshold up to 1.75 GW/cm2, much larger than those of several known organic and inorganic NLO materials. The DMM crystal exhibits positive optical non-linearity and reverse saturation absorption. It also exhibited a nonlinear refractive index (n2) in the order of 10?11 m2/W, a nonlinear absorption coefficient (β) in the order of 10?5 m/W, third order non-linear susceptibility (χ(3)) in the order of 10?5 esu and a second-order molecular hyperpolarizability (γ) in the order of 10?33 esu. All the above results indicate that DMM has a potential application as a useful NLO candidate.  相似文献

l-arginine trifluoroacetate, an organic nonlinear optical material, has been synthesized from aqueous solution. Bulk single crystal of dimension 57 mm × 5 mm × 3 mm has been grown by temperature lowering technique. Powder X-ray diffraction studies confirmed the monoclinic structure of the grown l-arginine trifluoroacetate crystal. Linear optical property of the grown crystal has been studied by UV–vis spectrum. Dielectric response of the l-arginine trifluoroacetate crystal was analysed for different frequencies and temperatures in detail. Microhardness study on the sample reveals that the crystal possesses relatively higher hardness compared to many organic crystals. Thermal analyses confirmed that the l-arginine trifluoroacetate material is thermally stable upto 212 °C. The etching studies have been performed to assess the perfection of the l-arginine trifluoroacetate crystal. Kurtz powder second harmonic generation test confirms the nonlinear optical properties of the as-grown l-arginine trifluoroacetate crystal.  相似文献

The 2-amino-4,6-dimethylpyrimidine benzoic acid (2APB) single crystal has been successfully grown by the slow evaporation method by using water as a solvent. The single-crystal X-Ray diffraction (SXRD) analysis gives knowledge about the structure and morphology of the 2APB crystal. The Powder X-ray Diffraction (PXRD) pattern of grinded 2APB crystal was compared with standard CIF file and the peaks were indexed with their corresponding miller indices (hkl). The crystalline perfection of the grown 2APB single crystal was analysed using high-resolution X-ray diffraction (HR-XRD) measurement. The various functional groups and their vibrational assignments were studied using the Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectrum analysis. The 2APB crystal has a lower cut-off wavelength of 325 nm, which is evident from the UV–visible–NIR analysis. The defects and etch pit density of 2APB crystal were examined using chemical etching studies. The 2APB crystal was thermally stable up to 140 °C, which was evident from the thermogravimetric (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The photoconductivity analysis was carried out to calculate the photo and dark current values. The laser damage threshold (LDT) value was determined using a 532 nm Nd:YAG laser in single shot mode. The third-order non-linear optical (NLO) susceptibility (χ(3)) value was calculated from Z-scan technique, which involves open and closed aperture measurements.

The preparation and characterization of bis(tetraethylammonium)bis(2-thioxo-1,3-dithiole-4,5-dithiolato)cuprate(II), (I), are described. The thermal stability and thermal decomposition of (I) are studied both in air and under nitrogen flux. The nonlinear optical properties of (I) at 532 and 1064 nm are investigated by using the Z-scan technique with pulses of picoseconds duration. (I) exhibits self-defocusing effects at both wavelengths, strong saturable absorption at 532 nm and two-photon absorption at 1064 nm. The second molecular hyperpolarizability γ of (I) at 532 nm was estimated to be as high as 5.17 × 10?31 esu. The origins have been analyzed and interpreted on the basis of crystal structure.  相似文献

Ba(Ti0.95Zr0.05)O3 (BTZ) thin films grown on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si(100) substrates were prepared by chemical solution deposition. The structure and surface morphology of BTZ thin films has been studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). At 100 kHz, the dielectric constant and dissipation factor of the BTZ film are 121 and 0.016, respectively. The ellipsometric spectrum of the BTZ thin film annealed at 730 °C was measured in the range of wavelength from 355 to 1700 nm. Assuming a five-layer model (air/surface roughness layer/BTZ/interface layer/Pt) for the BTZ thin films on platinized silicon substrates, the optical constant spectra (refractive index n and the extinction coefficient k) of the BTZ thin films were obtained.  相似文献

An organic nonlinear optical material 4-Iodo 4-nitrostilbene (IONS) has been synthesized and good optical quality single crystal was grown from ethyl methyl ketone solvent by the solution growth technique. Single and powder X-ray diffraction analyses reveals that the grown crystal belongs to monoclinic crystal system with noncentrosymmetric space group ‘P21’ and it has good crystalline nature. Functional groups and molecular structure of the title compound were confirmed by FTIR and 1H NMR respectively. The UV–Vis–NIR absorption study reveals no absorption in the visible region and the cut-off wavelength was found to be at 412.84 nm, TG/DTA, mass spectral analysis, photoluminescence and microhardness studies have been carried out for the grown crystals and results are discussed in detail. The second harmonic efficiency of the IONS was determined by Kurtz–Perry powder technique which reveals that the IONS crystal (3.1 V) has greater efficiency i.e., 143 times to that of KDP (21.7 mV).  相似文献

Ba8Zn(Nb6−xSbx)O24 (x = 0, 0.3, 0.6, 0.9, 1.2, 1.5, 1.8 and 2.4) ceramics were prepared through the conventional solid-state route. The materials were calcined at 1250 °C and sintered in the range 1400-1425 °C. The structure of the system was analyzed by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared and Raman spectroscopic methods. The theoretical and experimental densities were calculated. The microstructure of the sintered pellets was analyzed using scanning electron microscopy. The low frequency dielectric properties were studied in the frequency range 50 Hz-2 MHz. The dielectric constant (?r), temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τf) and the unloaded quality factor (Qu) are measured in the microwave frequency region using cavity resonator method. The τf values of the samples reduced considerably with the increase in Sb concentration. The materials have intense emission lines in the visible region. The compositions have good microwave dielectric properties and photoluminescence and hence are suitable for dielectric resonator and ceramic laser applications.  相似文献

Polycrystalline samples of the defect pyrochlore-type CsB′B′′O6 (B′=Nb, Ta; B′′=W, Mo) compounds were prepared by solid-state reaction technique. The formation of the compounds was checked by X-ray diffraction (XRD) method. All the compounds were found to have a cubic crystal structure at room temperature. Dielectric studies of the tungstate compounds, CsNbWO6 and CsTaWO6 indicated a small dielectric anomaly at (183±2) and (328±2) K, respectively, whereas the molybdate compounds, CsNbMoO6 and CsTaMoO6 did not exhibit such anomaly. The conductivity measurements indicated ionic transports (tion≥0.80) in the high temperature region (≥573 K).  相似文献

Ba(Ti(0.9)Sn0.1)O3 (BTS) ceramic was prepared by a conventional ceramic processing. BTS-polycarbonate (PC) composites were prepared at different BTS concentrations by weight in order to study their optical and dielectric properties. The absorption coefficient (α) was determined in the wavelength range from 250–600 nm at room temperature for all BTS-PC composites. The optical gap (E opt) was also determined for BTS-PC composites. The variation of the absorption coefficient (α) and optical gap (E opt) with BTS content are reported. It was found that BTS ceramic highly enhances the UV absorption of PC host at 300 nm. The optical gap decreases up to the value of 3.93 eV as BTS content increases up to 35 wt% and this was attributed to the formation of localized states in the forbidden gap. The relative dielectric permittivity, dielectric loss and loss tangent were measured at temperature range from room temperature up to 150°C and at frequency values 1 kHz, 10 kHz and 50 kHz. Addition of BTS to PC host, however, will increase relative dielectric permittivity, dielectric loss and loss tangent. Besides, increasing of temperature will also increase relative dielectric permittivity, dielectric loss and loss tangent especially above the glass transition temperature of PC host and this behaviour was attributed to the segmental motion of polymer chains. On the other hand, this study shows that there is a good agreement between SEM, DSC and dielectric results and also between optical gap and a.c. conductivity results. Moreover, SEM and DSC results reveal that addition of BTS ceramic particles to PC host will reduce the physical bond between polymer chains or may be will increase the free volume in the polymer host and consequently will enhance the segmental motion of polymer chains and this behaviour is independent of ceramic phase.  相似文献

The Ln2/3Gd1/3TiNbO6 ceramic compositions are prepared through the solid state ceramic route. The compositions are calcined at 1250 °C and sintered in the range 1350–1435 °C. Structural analysis of the materials is done using X-ray diffraction analysis and vibrational spectroscopy. Surface morphology is examined by Scanning Electron Microscopy. Microwave dielectric properties such as dielectric constant (εr), quality factor (Q) and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (Tf) are measured using cavity resonator method. The compositions have εr in between 46 and 41.8 and Tf in between +52 and +25 ppm/°C. By the substitution of Gd, the Tf is reduced considerably with a slight decrease in dielectric constant. Cerium based composition had additional reflections other than that of aeschynite structure. For Pr, Nd and Sm based systems, solid solutions were formed. UV visible spectrum of the representative composition is recorded and the band gap energy is estimated. Photoluminescence spectra of the samples are recorded and the transitions causing emissions are identified. The materials are suitable for microwave and optoelectronic applications.  相似文献
