Fuzzy rule interpolation is an important research topic in sparse fuzzy rule-based systems. In this paper, we present a new method for dealing with fuzzy rule interpolation in sparse fuzzy rule-based systems based on the principle membership functions and uncertainty grade functions of interval type-2 fuzzy sets. The proposed method deals with fuzzy rule interpolation based on the principle membership functions and the uncertainty grade functions of interval type-2 fuzzy sets. It can deal with fuzzy rule interpolation with polygonal interval type-2 fuzzy sets and can handle fuzzy rule interpolation with multiple antecedent variables. We also use some examples to compare the fuzzy interpolative reasoning results of the proposed method with the ones of an existing method. The experimental result shows that the proposed method gets more reasonable results than the existing method for fuzzy rule interpolation based on interval type-2 fuzzy sets.  相似文献

Fuzzy interpolative reasoning is an important research topic of sparse fuzzy rule-based systems. In recent years, some methods have been presented for dealing with fuzzy interpolative reasoning. However, the involving fuzzy sets appearing in the antecedents of fuzzy rules of the existing fuzzy interpolative reasoning methods must be normal and non-overlapping. Moreover, the reasoning conclusions of the existing fuzzy interpolative reasoning methods sometimes become abnormal fuzzy sets. In this paper, in order to overcome the drawbacks of the existing fuzzy interpolative reasoning methods, we present a new fuzzy interpolative reasoning method for sparse fuzzy rule-based systems based on the ranking values of fuzzy sets. The proposed fuzzy interpolative reasoning method can handle the situation of non-normal and overlapping fuzzy sets appearing in the antecedents of fuzzy rules. It can overcome the drawbacks of the existing fuzzy interpolative reasoning methods in sparse fuzzy rule-based systems.  相似文献

Fuzzy interpolative reasoning via scale and move transformations   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Interpolative reasoning does not only help reduce the complexity of fuzzy models but also makes inference in sparse rule-based systems possible. This paper presents an interpolative reasoning method by means of scale and move transformations. It can be used to interpolate fuzzy rules involving complex polygon, Gaussian or other bell-shaped fuzzy membership functions. The method works by first constructing a new inference rule via manipulating two given adjacent rules, and then by using scale and move transformations to convert the intermediate inference results into the final derived conclusions. This method has three advantages thanks to the proposed transformations: 1) it can handle interpolation of multiple antecedent variables with simple computation; 2) it guarantees the uniqueness as well as normality and convexity of the resulting interpolated fuzzy sets; and 3) it suggests a variety of definitions for representative values, providing a degree of freedom to meet different requirements. Comparative experimental studies are provided to demonstrate the potential of this method.  相似文献

In sparse fuzzy rule-based systems, the fuzzy rule bases are usually incomplete. In this situation, the system may not properly perform fuzzy reasoning to get reasonable consequences. In order to overcome the drawback of sparse fuzzy rule-based systems, there is an increasing demand to develop fuzzy interpolative reasoning techniques in sparse fuzzy rule-based systems. In this paper, we present a new fuzzy interpolative reasoning method via cutting and transformation techniques for sparse fuzzy rule-based systems. It can produce more reasonable results than the existing methods. The proposed method provides a useful way to deal with fuzzy interpolative reasoning in sparse fuzzy rule-based systems.   相似文献

In this paper, we present a new method to handle fuzzy multiple attributes group decision-making problems based on the ranking values and the arithmetic operations of interval type-2 fuzzy sets. First, we present the arithmetic operations between interval type-2 fuzzy sets. Then, we present a fuzzy ranking method to calculate the ranking values of interval type-2 fuzzy sets. We also make a comparison of the ranking values of the proposed method with the existing methods. Based on the proposed fuzzy ranking method and the proposed arithmetic operations between interval type-2 fuzzy sets, we present a new method to handle fuzzy multiple attributes group decision-making problems. The proposed method provides us with a useful way to handle fuzzy multiple attributes group decision-making problems in a more flexible and more intelligent manner due to the fact that it uses interval type-2 fuzzy sets rather than traditional type-1 fuzzy sets to represent the evaluating values and the weights of attributes.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a new method to deal with fuzzy multiple attributes group decision-making problems based on ranking interval type-2 fuzzy sets. First, we propose a new method for ranking interval type-2 fuzzy sets. Then, we propose a new method for fuzzy multiple attributes group decision-making based on the proposed ranking method of interval type-2 fuzzy sets. We also use some examples to illustrate the fuzzy multiple attributes group decision-making process of the proposed method. The proposed method is simpler than the methods presented in [Chen and Lee, 2010a] and [Lee and Chen, 2010b] for fuzzy multiple attributes group decision-making based on interval type-2 fuzzy sets. Image segmentation based on histogram analysis utilizing the cloud model   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
Both the cloud model and type-2 fuzzy sets deal with the uncertainty of membership which traditional type-1 fuzzy sets do not consider. Type-2 fuzzy sets consider the fuzziness of the membership degrees. The cloud model considers fuzziness, randomness, and the association between them. Based on the cloud model, the paper proposes an image segmentation approach which considers the fuzziness and randomness in histogram analysis. For the proposed method, first, the image histogram is generated. Second, the histogram is transformed into discrete concepts expressed by cloud models. Finally, the image is segmented into corresponding regions based on these cloud models. Segmentation experiments by images with bimodal and multimodal histograms are used to compare the proposed method with some related segmentation methods, including Otsu threshold, type-2 fuzzy threshold, fuzzy C-means clustering, and Gaussian mixture models. The comparison experiments validate the proposed method.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a weighted fuzzy interpolative reasoning method for sparse fuzzy rule-based systems, where the antecedent variables appearing in the fuzzy rules have different weights. We also present a weights-learning algorithm to automatically learn the optimal weights of the antecedent variables of the fuzzy rules for the proposed weighted fuzzy interpolative reasoning method. We also apply the proposed weighted fuzzy interpolative reasoning method and the proposed weights-learning algorithm to handle the truck backer-upper control problem. The experimental results show that the proposed fuzzy interpolative reasoning method using the optimally learned weights by the proposed weights-learning algorithm gets better truck backer-upper control results than the ones by the traditional fuzzy inference system and the existing fuzzy interpolative reasoning methods. The proposed method provides us with a useful way for fuzzy rules interpolation in sparse fuzzy rule-based systems.  相似文献

Fuzzy interpolative reasoning is an inference technique for dealing with the sparse rules problem in sparse fuzzy-rule-based systems. In this paper, we present a new fuzzy interpolative reasoning method for sparse fuzzy-rule-based systems based on the areas of fuzzy sets. The proposed method uses the weighted average method to infer the fuzzy interpolative reasoning results and has the following advantages: 1) it holds the normality and the convexity of the fuzzy interpolative reasoning result, 2) it can deal with fuzzy interpolative reasoning with complicated membership functions, 3) it can deal with fuzzy interpolative reasoning when the fuzzy sets of the antecedents and the consequents of the fuzzy rules have different kinds of membership functions, 4) it can handle fuzzy interpolative reasoning with multiple antecedent variables, 5) it can handle fuzzy interpolative reasoning with multiple fuzzy rules, and 6) it can handle fuzzy interpolative reasoning with logically consistent properties with respect to the ratios of fuzziness. We use some examples to compare the fuzzy interpolative reasoning results of the proposed method with those of the existing fuzzy interpolative reasoning methods. In terms of the six evaluation indices, the experimental results show that the proposed method performs more reasonably than the existing methods. The proposed method provides us a useful way to deal with fuzzy interpolative reasoning in sparse fuzzy-rule-based systems.   相似文献

The first published result in fuzzy rule interpolation was the α-cut based fuzzy rule interpolation, termed as KH fuzzy rule interpolation, originally devoted for complexity reduction. A modified version of the KH approach has been presented by Yam et al. (1999), which eliminates the subnormality problem while at the same time intending to maintain the advantageous computational properties of the original method. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the new method, which includes detailed comparison with the original KH fuzzy rule interpolation method concerning the explicit functions of the methods, preservation of piecewise linearity, and stability. The fuzziness of the conclusion with respect to the fuzziness of the observation is also investigated in comparison with several interpolation techniques. All these comparisons shows that the new method preserves the advantageous properties of the KH method and alleviates its most significant disadvantage, the problem of subnormality  相似文献

The prediction of time series has both the theoretical value and practical significance in reality. However, since the high nonlinear and noises in the time series, it is still an open problem to tackle with the uncertainties and fuzziness in the forecasting process. In this article, an evolving recurrent interval type-2 intuitionistic fuzzy neural network (eRIT2IFNN) is proposed for time series prediction and regression problems. The eRIT2IFNN employs interval type-2 intuitionistic fuzzy sets to enhance the modeling of uncertainties by intuitionistic evaluation and noise tolerance of the system. In the eRIT2IFNN, the antecedent part of each fuzzy rule is defined using intuitionistic interval type-2 fuzzy sets, and the consequent realizes the Takagi–Sugeno–Kang type fuzzy inference mechanism. In order to utilize the prior knowledge including intuitionistic information, a local internal feedback is established by feeding the rule firing strength of each rule to itself eRIT2IFNN is fully adaptive to the evolving of sequence data by online learning of structure and parameters. A modified density-based clustering is implemented for the structure learning, where both densities and membership degrees are involved to determine the fuzzy rules. Performance of eRIT2IFNN is evaluated using a set of benchmark problems and compared with existing fuzzy inference systems. Moreover, the eRIT2IFNN is tested for identification of dynamics under both noise-free and noisy environments. Finally, a group of practical financial price-tracking problems including high-frequency data of financial future, commodity future and precious metal are used for the evaluation of the proposed inference system.  相似文献

This paper presents an indirect approach to interval type-2 fuzzy logic system modeling to forecaste the level of air pollutants. The type-2 fuzzy logic system permits us to model the uncertainties among rules and the parameters related to data analysis. In this paper, we propose an indirect method to create an interval type-2 fuzzy logic system from a historical data, where Footprint of Uncertainties of fuzzy sets are extracted by implementation of an interval type-2 FCM algorithm and based on an upper and lower value for the level of fuzziness m in FCM. Finally, the proposed model is applied for prediction of carbon monoxide concentration in Tehran air pollution. It is shown that the proposed type-2 fuzzy logic system is superior in comparison to type-1 fuzzy logic systems in terms of two performance indices.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Fuzzy c-means clustering is an important non-supervised classification method for remote-sensing images and is based on type-1 fuzzy set theory. Type-1 fuzzy sets use singleton values to express the membership grade; therefore, such sets cannot describe the uncertainty of the membership grade. Interval type-2 fuzzy c-means (IT2FCM) clustering and relevant methods are based on interval type-2 fuzzy sets. Real vectors are used to describe the clustering centres, and the average values of the upper and lower membership grades are used to determine the classification of each pixel. Thus, the width information for interval clustering centres and interval membership grades are ignored. The main contribution of this article is to propose an improved IT2FCM* algorithm by adopting interval number distance (IND) and ranking methods, which use the width information of interval clustering centres and interval membership grades, thus distinguishing this method from existing fuzzy clustering methods. Three different IND definitions are tested, and the distance definition proposed by Li shows the best performance. The second contribution of this work is that two fuzzy cluster validity indices, FS- and XB-, are improved using the IND. Three types of multi/hyperspectral remote-sensing data sets are used to test this algorithm, and the experimental results show that the IT2FCM* algorithm based on the IND proposed by Li performs better than the IT2FCM algorithm using four cluster validity indices, the confusion matrix, and the kappa coefficient (κ). Additionally, the improved FS- index has more indicative ability than the original FS- index.  相似文献

In this article, interval type-2 fuzzy sets were used to model the uncertainty that is associated with the various parameters in objective function-based clustering. The purpose was to represent and manage the uncertainty in the cluster memberships by incorporating interval type-2 fuzzy sets. As a result, interval type-2 clustering methods were obtained by modifying the prototype-updating and hard-partitioning procedures in the type-1 fuzzy objective function-based clustering. As a consequence, the management of uncertainty by an interval type-2 fuzzy approach aids cluster prototypes to converge to a more desirable location than a type-1 fuzzy approach. Several examples illustrated the effectiveness of interval type-2 fuzzy approach methods. Furthermore, the uncertainty associated with the parameters for other existing clustering algorithms can be considered in the development of several other interval type-2 clustering algorithms. They are currently under investigation  相似文献

Neuro-fuzzy systems have been proved to be an efficient tool for modelling real life systems. They are precise and have ability to generalise knowledge from presented data. Neuro-fuzzy systems use fuzzy sets – most commonly type-1 fuzzy sets. Type-2 fuzzy sets model uncertainties better than type-1 fuzzy sets because of their fuzzy membership function. Unfortunately computational complexity of type reduction in general type-2 systems is high enough to hinder their practical application. This burden can be alleviated by application of interval type-2 fuzzy sets. The paper presents an interval type-2 neuro-fuzzy system with interval type-2 fuzzy sets both in premises (Gaussian interval type-2 fuzzy sets with uncertain fuzziness) and consequences (trapezoid interval type-2 fuzzy set). The inference mechanism is based on the interval type-2 fuzzy Łukasiewicz, Reichenbach, Kleene-Dienes, or Brouwer–Gödel implications. The paper is accompanied by numerical examples. The system can elaborate models with lower error rate than type-1 neuro-fuzzy system with implication-based inference mechanism. The system outperforms some known type-2 neuro-fuzzy systems.  相似文献

This paper develops new methods based on the preference ranking organization method for enrichment evaluations (PROMETHEE) that use a signed distance-based approach within the environment of interval type-2 fuzzy sets for multiple criteria decision analysis. The theory of interval type-2 fuzzy sets provides an intuitive and computationally feasible way of addressing uncertain and ambiguous information in decision-making fields. Many studies have developed multiple criteria decision analysis methods in the context of interval type-2 fuzzy sets; most of these methods can be characterized as scoring or compromising models. Nevertheless, the extended versions of outranking methods have not been thoroughly investigated. This paper establishes interval type-2 fuzzy PROMETHEE methods for ranking alternative actions among multiple criteria based on the concepts of signed distance-based generalized criteria and comprehensive preference indices. We develop interval type-2 fuzzy PROMETHEE I and interval type-2 fuzzy PROMETHEE II procedures for partial and complete ranking, respectively, of the alternatives. Finally, the feasibility and applicability of the proposed methods are illustrated by a practical problem of landfill site selection. A comparative analysis is also performed with ordinary fuzzy PROMETHEE methods to validate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.

In this paper, we present a new method for multi-variable fuzzy forecasting based on fuzzy clustering and fuzzy rule interpolation techniques. First, the proposed method constructs training samples based on the variation rates of the training data set and then uses the training samples to construct fuzzy rules by making use of the fuzzy C-means clustering algorithm, where each fuzzy rule corresponds to a given cluster. Then, we determine the weight of each fuzzy rule with respect to the input observations and use such weights to determine the predicted output, based on the multiple fuzzy rules interpolation scheme. We apply the proposed method to the temperature prediction problem and the Taiwan Stock Exchange Capitalization Weighted Stock Index (TAIEX) data. The experimental results show that the proposed method produces better forecasting results than several existing methods.  相似文献

Fuzzy interpolation does not only help to reduce the complexity of fuzzy models, but also makes inference in sparse rule-based systems possible. It has been successfully applied to systems control, but limited work exists for its applications to tasks like prediction and classification. Almost all fuzzy interpolation techniques in the literature make strong assumptions that there are two closest adjacent rules available to the observation, and that such rules must flank the observation for each attribute. Also, some interpolation approaches cannot handle fuzzy sets whose membership functions involve vertical slopes. To avoid such limitations and develop a more practical approach, this paper extends the work of Huang and Shen. The result enables both interpolation and extrapolation which involve multiple fuzzy rules, with each rule consisting of multiple antecedents. Two realistic applications, namely truck backer-upper control and computer activity prediction, are provided in this paper to demonstrate the utility of the extended approach. Experiment-based comparisons to the most commonly used Mamdani fuzzy reasoning mechanism, and to other existing fuzzy interpolation techniques are given to show the significance and potential of this research.  相似文献
