Poor mixing in dry ball mills can lead to insufficient presentation of fine particles to the classifying air, overgrinding of particles and wastage of energy in a ball mill. A video capture method has been used to study radial mixing kinetics in a dry batch ball mill. Experiments were conducted in a ball mill with PVC plastic powders being used as particles so that the effect of size reduction could be neglected. Radial mixing in ball mills was studied at typical industrial speeds of 75%, 80% and 90% of critical. The rate of particle mixing was observed to increase with increasing mill speed. A simplified mathematical model is presented that can be used to predict the radial mixing of particles in a ball mill. A parameter, k, was used to quantify the kinetics of mixing as affected by the mill's speed. 相似文献

The unsteady-state, one-dimensional convective mixing equation was solved with finite end boundary conditions for a pulse of tracer admitted into a steady flow, assuming a constant dimensionless mixing factor D*. Radiotracer tests were performed on two continuous wet overflow ball mills, a laboratory mill of 0.3 m i.d. and a pilot-scale mill of 0.91 m i.d. Counting through the mill case enabled the tracer concentration to be measured at L/3, 2L/3 and L for the small mill, and L/2 and L for the pilot-scale mill. The results were consistent with the mixing model with D* = 0.5 and 0.3, respectively, with D* constant along the mill. The mean residence time of water was about 0.85 that of the solid, showing the slurry density in a mill to be higher than that of the feed and product streams. 相似文献

采用Haake密炼机工艺、开炼机工艺和开炼机预混-Haake密炼机工艺制备了丁腈橡胶(NBR)/聚酰胺(PA)热塑性硫化胶(TPV),研究了NBR/PATPV的结晶结构及其性能。结果表明,采用开炼机预混-Haake密炼机工艺可制得相态结构均匀、分散相粒径较小、力学性能和耐溶剂性能较好的NBR/PATPV。在NBR/PATPV中,NBR可诱发PA结晶。PA连续相结晶结构分布的均匀性和相界面之间的相互作用是提高NBR/PATPV耐溶剂性能的主要因素。 相似文献

The perfect mixing model is calibrated to a dry grinding mill used to prepare iron powder for powder metallurgy applications. The calibration procedure was modified to account for possible error on both the mill feed and discharge size distributions, while the usual calibration criterion is based on the estimation error of the mill product size distribution. The calibration criterion was also modified to allow the simultaneous processing of several sampling campaigns to estimate common appearance, breakage and discharge rate functions. Calibration results are analysed in terms of reproducibility of model estimates and model capacity to predict the mill powder content as a function of the mill throughput and power drawn. 相似文献
