This paper presents the investigations on a miniaturized vertically polarized traveling wave antenna for operation in the high frequency band (3-6 MHz), with a specific requirement of keeping its height near 1/8th of a wavelength. The antenna is desired to have a good endfire gain and front to back ratio, and small radiation levels in the vertical direction at broadside angle. A log-periodic Zigzag antenna (LPZA) has acceptable performance in both gain and polarization. Its height however is large, at about one wavelength (1/spl lambda//sub L/). The concept of fractal antenna is employed in this antenna to achieve the necessary height reduction to /spl lambda//sub L//8, while keeping its radiation characteristics nearly constant. Both single and dual arm quasifractal log-periodic zigzag antenna (QFLPZA) configurations are investigated, with a maximum antenna height of only 1/8th of a wavelength, showing the desired radiation characteristics, and a wide impedance bandwidth of 67%. This type of antenna may find applications in surveillance radar.  相似文献

The effects of a finitely conducting earth on the field attenuation and on the radiation impedance and radiation pattern of a half-wave dipole antenna in and near the earth are investigated and reported. The measurements were made at two frequencies, f = 93.7 Mcps and f = 179.76 Mcps. The signals were horizontally polarized and measurements were made for antenna heights varying in 0.1 wavelength increments from one wavelength above ground to 0.3 wavelength below ground.  相似文献

An antenna has been built for the purpose of studying radio astronomical phenomena at long wavelengths. The beamwidth of this antenna is 14 minutes E-W and 92 minutes N-S at a wavelength of 11.4 meters. Therefore, its resolution is comparable to that of present day arrays operating in the meter wavelength range and to that of large parabolas operating at decimeter and centimeter wavelengths.  相似文献

A high-gain and high-efficiency slotted waveguide planar antenna is developed in the millimeter-wave band. Forty-five degree inclined polarization is required for automotive radar systems. In the design of slotted waveguide array for arbitrarily linear polarization, slot spacing is one guide wavelength which is larger than a wavelength in free space. Consequently, grating lobes appear in the radiation pattern. So, we developed a slotted waveguide planar antenna composed of post-loaded narrow-wall slots and a single-layer alternating-phase feeding circuit. A planar antenna with suppressed grating lobes has been fabricated and its RF performance has been measured. The measured gain is 33.2 dBi and antenna efficiency is 56% at 76 GHz. Grating lobe level is -28.6 dB lower than main lobe level. Since the proposed structure remains simple, the antenna is expected to be manufactured by metal injection molding for low cost  相似文献

A wide-band, electrically small, disk-loaded antenna, comprising of a disk, 0.26 wavelength (at midband) in diameter, located 0.097 wavelength above a ground plane, has been designed and tested. A unique experimental procedure was used to determine the parameters of the impedance matching network, which consists of a conductive biconical center post and two structural side posts located in the space under the disk. The resulting antenna has a maximum voltage standing-wave ratio (VSWR) of 2:1 over a frequency bandwidth ratio of approximately 2:1. A second model, designed using the same technique, has a maximum VSWR of 3:1 over a frequency bandwidth ratio of 3:1. This antenna was compared to a multi-element disk-loaded antenna (with the same size profile) designed by Dr. Georg Goubau. This multi-element antenna also has a maximum VSWR of 2:1 over a frequency band of approximately 2:1. The comparison shows that the simple disk-loaded antenna, with fixed double tuning, achieves the same low VSWR as the multi-element disk-loaded antenna with fixed triple tuning. Therefore, an increase in bandwidth could be achieved in the simple disk-loaded antenna by applying higher order tuning.  相似文献

结合超宽带缝隙天线和分形结构的优点,设计了一种具有陷波特性的超宽带分形缝隙天线.选择E形缝隙结构,并在缝隙下边缘采用树状分形,构造半波长谐振结构,实现了天线的陷波功能,有效地避免了超宽带频带范围内的系统干扰.给出了天线设计的总体思路,通过理论分析和仿真测试,对天线的阻抗特性、增益进行了研究.结果表明,该陷波天线的阻抗频带为3 GHz ~12 GHz,在5 GHz~6.25 GHz频带内具有陷波特性.同时,分形结构的引入极大地缩小了天线的尺寸.  相似文献

A diversity antenna comprising a short whip antenna top loaded with a small cylinder and a new built-in antenna has been developed for very small portable telephones in the 800-MHz band. Wire-grid analyses and whip antenna experiments yielded good radiation characteristic results when the equivalent electrical length of the whip antenna equalled a half wavelength. The built-in antenna features extreme compactness, its size being one-third that of a conventional planar inverted-F antenna. The characteristics were investigated experimentally, and an antenna of 3.5 cc volume with a gain of -1 dBd and a bandwidth of 30 MHz was designed at 879 MHz. Finally, the diversity characteristics were subjected to field measurements and a diversity correlation of 0.26 was obtained  相似文献

A new design of a monopolar plate-patch antenna is proposed and experimentally studied. The proposed antenna is a planar rectangular monopole top-loaded with a shorted square or circular patch, which is shorted to the antenna ground by two ground plates placed symmetrically on each side of the planar monopole. Prototypes have been constructed and experimental results show, that with an antenna height less than 10% of the free-space wavelength of the center operating frequency, the proposed antenna can have a monopole radiation pattern with an impedance bandwidth larger than three times that of a corresponding monopolar wire-patch antenna.  相似文献

Design of a high gain, small microstrip antenna with circular polarisation (CP) radiation is demonstrated. The small size of the microstrip antenna results from both the high-permittivity superstrate loading and the slits cut in the patch. In addition, the antenna gain is enhanced by setting the superstrate thickness at about one-quarter of the wavelength in the superstrate layer. A typical design with a 30%, decrease in antenna size and a 5.2 dB increase in antenna gain, as compared to the conventional CP design, is presented and analysed  相似文献

A planar artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) ground plane is proposed as a means to reduce the profile of a highly directive resonant cavity antenna. The structure is formed by a printed microstrip patch antenna and a superimposed partially reflective surface. The antenna profile is reduced to approximately half by virtue of employing the AMC ground plane. A ray theory model is used to qualitatively describe the functioning of the antenna and theoretically predict the existence of quarter wavelength resonant cavities.  相似文献

设计了一种小型化宽带定向天线。椭圆形的印制单极天线是一种小型化的超宽带天线,通过将该单极天线的地板折叠为字母C的形状,作为单极天线振子的反射腔,不仅实现了天线的定向性,同时进一步减小了天线的高度尺寸(0.13λ0,λ0为工作频率空气波长)。制作了天线样件并进行了测试,实测结果表明,该小型化天线驻波小于3的工作带宽为700~3800MHz,天线的方向图在整个频带内具有良好的定向辐射特性。  相似文献

A miniaturised C-patch antenna excited by means of a coaxial probe is described. The antenna consists of two stacked C-shaped elements connected together with a vertical conducting plane. The antenna is designed on an air substrate and offers attractive dimensions, being five times lower than those of a conventional half wavelength microstrip patch antenna operating at the same frequency. 对数周期天线小型化的一种途径是利用新的谐振天线(如V型天线、螺旋天线、分形天线等)代替半波振子来降低谐振高度,这些对数周期天线可以统称为对数周期曲线振子天线.利用基于Nakano方程的矩量法结合等效电路理论来分析对数周期曲线振子天线的新方法,并对几种小型化的对数周期天线进行了研究.计算机仿真表明:该算法简单易行,为研究新型结构的对数周期天线和对数周期天线的小型化提供了一种新途径.  相似文献

A new dual port microstrip antenna geometry for dual frequency operation is presented. The structure consists of the intersection of two circles of the same radius with their centres displaced by a small fraction of the wavelength. This antenna provides wide impedance bandwidth and excellent isolation between its ports. The gain of the antenna is comparable to that of a standard circular microstrip antenna operating at the same resonant frequency. A theoretical analysis for calculating the resonant frequencies of the two ports is also presented  相似文献

Antennas and waveguides for the wavelength range 0.1-3 mm are considered. Emphasis is placed on those designs which lend themselves to integration with each other and with other components such as diodes. The general properties of FIR antennas are reviewed. A novel silicon waveguide antenna is discussed, and its design, simulation, fabrication, and performance at 119 μm are described. This antenna has a highly symmetrical, single-lobed beam with 3 dB beamwidths of 35 and 38° in theE- andH-planes, respectively. The gain (measured in microwave simulation) is 12.8 dB. This antenna is well suited for integration with Schottky diodes. The related subject of FIR waveguides is discussed. Experiments with metal transmission lines at 119 μm are described and dielectric guides related to the waveguide antenna are also considered. Using components such as these it may soon be possible to construct receiver front ends for this wavelength range in integrated-circuit form.  相似文献

设计了一种改进结构的嵌入盘形天线,该天线具有低剖面、宽频带及全向的特点,并要求工作时最大辐射方向是45°。通过对嵌入盘形天线进行刻缝和加导电柱等结构上的改进后,可以在降低天线尺寸的前提下实现天线的低剖面、宽频带以及较大的水平增益。天线中心频率为3.0GHz,剖面高度远小于中心频率波长。在2.5~4.0GHz频带内,驻波比小于2,并且,水平方向增益可达-2dB。用AnsoftHFSS软件进行仿真计算,并对实际天线进行了测试。测试结果与仿真结果有很好的一致性,满足设计要求。  相似文献
