第三代移动通信正在成为整个信息产业的热点。鉴于国内对第三代移动通信无线传输技术的名称提法比较混乱,为避免引起误解或为人所利用,在国际电联还没有选定将采用的技术方案之前,信息产业部科技司最近建议对第三代移动通信采用国际电联的名称提法,即IMT-2000。 目前,第三代移动通信已越来越成为世界各国通信界所关注的焦点。我国专门成立了原邮电部第三代移动通信领导小组,同时也成立了第三代移动通信无线传输技术(RTT)评估协调组(该组已在国际电联注册)和技术开发小组。这两个小组正在按照电联规定的时间表开展工作,积极参与国际电联的标准化活动并取得了一定收效。  相似文献

Third generation mobile radio systems are currently being deployed in different regions of the world. Future systems beyond the third generation are already under discussion in international bodies and forums such as ITU, WWRF and R&D programmes of the European Union and in other regions. These systems will determine the research and standardisation activities in mobile and wireless communication in the next years. Based on experience of the third generation, future systems will be developed mainly from the user perspective with respect to potential services and applications including traffic demands. Therefore, the Wireless World Research Forum was launched in 2001 as a global and open initiative of manufacturers, network operators, SMEs, R&D centres and the academic domain. WWRF is focused on the vision of such systems - the Wireless World-and potential key technologies. This paper describes the international context of activities on systems beyond third generation, the goals, objectives and structure of WWRF, the user perspective as the starting point for a future system design and the key enabling technologies for the Wireless World.  相似文献

Extensive use of the Internet and huge demands for multimedia services via portable devices require the development of packet-based radio access systems with high transmission efficiency. Advanced radio transmission technologies have recently been proposed to achieve this challenging task. However, few researches have been reported on the design of an integrated system that can efficiently exploit the advantages of these transmission technologies. This paper considers the design of a packet-based cellular system for next-generation radio access. We propose a novel system framework that can incorporate various advanced transmission technologies such as link adaptation, opportunistic packet scheduling, channel coding, and multiantenna techniques. For efficient use of these technologies together, we first investigate the interoperability between these technologies by proposing a so-called cause and effect analysis. Based on this investigation, we design a differentiated-segments-based orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing system, called DiffSeg, to accommodate heterogeneous operating conditions in a seamless manner. Simulation results show that the proposed DiffSeg system can provide a nearly optimum performance with flexible configuration in a wide range of wireless channel conditions.  相似文献

The third generation partner project (3GPP) has standardized general packet radio service (GPRS) and the universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS) to provide cell phone communications and wireless Internet services. Although the data transmission rate is lower than that of wireless local area networks (WLANs), GPRS/UMTS covers larger areas. Hence, to achieve higher speed ubiquitous access, we propose a lightweight secure roaming mechanism (LSRM) that integrates GPRS/UMTS and WLAN. Taking advantage of these two technologies, LSRM offers anonymous roaming and friendly subscriber management. Besides, we give a formal security analysis to LSRM based on BAN authentication logic.  相似文献

This paper deals with the use of a CDMA-based radio interface in third generation mobile systems (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System – UMTS, and Future Public Land Mobile Telecommunications System – FPLMTS). The paper is not intended as a detailed analysis of the radio interface performance, but as an overview of the main issues arising in a typical CDMA-based mobile system, discussing the different available technical solutions. First of all, the basic requirements of the radio interface in a third generation mobile system are outlined. In particular, the support of variable bit rate transmission, the adaptability to the different propagation and service environments and the flexibility are felt to be important topics to be discussed. Then, the main characteristics of the CDMA access technique are depicted, in relation with the above mentioned requirements, focusing in particular on the DS-CDMA radio interface designed within the RACE II – CODIT Project. In that context the paper describes some of the technical solutions proposed for the provision of advanced features such as macrodiversity, multibearer transmission and variable bit rate services. The mobile network evolution from second generation to third generation systems has opened possibilities for inclusion of new technologies both in the network infrastructure as well as on the radio access. Within this paper, we concentrate on the evolution of the network infrastructure towards a future mobile network that balances the demand for increased flexibility with the necessity of limiting system complexity. Based on existing architectures, to lower complexity such as layered architecture for the core network and mobile packet backbone, we describe one possible evolution path for the control layer. Our approach is a step towards a control space that includes packetpipe control functions for a multitude of packetpipes.
