Today we use e-mail and SMS to transmit written messages across far distances. In the past this was already possible by means of dial telegraphy. A special form of the dial telegraph was the so called magneto-electric dial telegraph which did not need a galvanic battery, since the signals were generated by a magneto-electric machine. The invention of this particular dial telegraph is based on a patent of the well-known English professor in physics Charles Wheatstone back in 1840. This paper covers the details of this invention as well as the early efforts to introduce this telegraph system for public use. The finally successful development of magneto-electric dial telegraphs of Emil Stoehrer (Leipzig 1846), Werner von Siemens (Berlin 1856) and Charles Wheatstone (London 1858) are discussed.  相似文献

In the course of the renewal of the Central Control Centre Innsbruck for generation and transport of the traction energy of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) an Energy Management System with a considerable share of Power Application Software including a training simulator was set up. The Power Application Software supplies a consistent and complete picture of the electrical power network and is the basis for the further arithmetical treatment of the process. It supports the operator in the reliable and economic system management of processes getting increasingly complex. Further it serves as help for decisions regarding the short-time system planning. The training simulator serves for the simulation of unusual operating conditions and is also used for the training of the load control engineers.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung  Dezentrale Stromerzeugungsanlagen sind nicht durch die Netzstruktur/Leitungsl?ngen, die Spannungsebene oder die Einspeiseleistung definiert, sondern dezentral Stromeinspeisung in einem Netz ist dann problematisch, wenn das Dispatching, die Netzinformationssysteme, die Schutztechnik und die Leittechnik nicht ad?quat gel?st sind. Sachgerechte L?sungen für die Probleme, die sich aus den o. a. M?ngeln ergeben, sind nach folgenden allgemeinen Merkmalen zu analysieren: Lastgang und Netzsteuerung (Dispatching), Kurzschlussleistung und Kurzschlussstrom, Wirklast- und Blindleistungsfluss, Spannungshaltung, Personensicherheit. Hinsichtlich der Forderung eines funktionssicheren Schutzsystems sind zu untersuchen: Fehlerstromfluss, überstromschutz vs. Unit-Protection, Messprobleme beim Distanzschutz, Erdschlussschutz, Reserveschutz, Inselbildungsstrategien, automatische Wiedereinschaltung. Man sollte auf jeden Fall prüfen, ob, wann und in welchem Umfang die Realisierung der im Beitrag aufgezeigten, sachgerechten L?sungen im Lichte einer gesamtwirtschaftlichen Optimierung unter Einbeziehung von „Economy-of-Scale“-Betrachtungen sinnvoll ist. A high quality electric power supply needs adequate power quality and reliability. Voltage dips lead to a strong decrease of power quality. With the network data and the fault and disturbance statistics of the network, the expected number of voltage dips per year and the distribution of their amplitudes and durations can be calculated. This paper presents two calculation methods which are compared to measurement results. With these numbers, an estimation of the failure costs for customers is possible. Furthermore the influence of different network improvements on social economic costs is shown with a simple example network.  相似文献

In this paper a three-phase PFC PWM rectifier system with low effects on the mains (VIENNA Rectifier 1) which has been developed at the Technical University Vienna in 1994 is described. As compared to conventional rectifier systems the VIENNA Rectifier 1 shows significant advantages such as unity power factor, sinusoidal input current shape (fundamental ohmic mains behavior), controlled output voltage, high efficiency (typically 97%), low costs, high power density and/or low volume, high reliability, and significantly reduced conducted common-mode noise emission. Research is done on this system in companies and universities, e.g. in Europe, U.S.A., Canada, Japan, China and Australia. Furthermore, the paper presents a comparison of a two-stage converter system, which is formed by connecting the VIENNA Rectifier 1 to a DC/DC converter with high frequency isolation (e.g. for applications in uninterruptible power supply systems) and two further developements of the Technical University Vienna which feature single-stage power conversion, i.e. VIENNA Rectifier 2 and VIENNA Rectifier 3.  相似文献

Model-based diagnosis deals with a set of methods for finding faults in (usually technical) systems by examining the way these systems operate when functioning correctly, instead of using the classical “expert system” approach of painstakingly collecting all individual fault cases. The types of components occurring in a problem domain have their behavior described in a generic catalogue and can then be simply combined to describe any system from that domain. If faulty behavior is observed, a general solution algorithm can be applied to identify the set of components whose misbehavior explains the fault.  相似文献

The acceptance of fieldbus systems for distributed control applications is increasing very fast. LonWorks is a widely used system for process and building automation, often hosting more than 10 000 nodes nowadays. The design of such large systems requires to be aware of the limitations of the underlying technology. Limitations include node resources, the number of destination addresses and bus utilization. Therefore there are various opportunities to optimize the own production, delivery contracts and additional supply.
