Abstract

The applicability of electrophoretic deposition (EPD) for the fabrication of single layer and multilayer ceramic coatings on dense ceramic composite materials has been examined. Al2O3/Y-tetragonal zirconia polycrystal (TZP) functionally graded composites of tubular shape were successfully coated with a two layer coating comprising porous alumina and dense reaction bonded mullite layers. The dual layer coating structure was designed to eliminate the numerous cracks caused by volume shrinkage during sintering of the individual EPD formed layers. In another example, mullite fibre reinforced mullite matrix composites were coated with a thin layer of nanosized silica particles using EPD. The aim was to achieve a compressive residual stress field in the silica layer on cooling from sintering temperature, in order to increase composite fracture strength and toughness. The EPD technique proved to be a reliable method for rapid preparation of single layer and multilayer ceramic coatings with reproducible thickness and microstructure on ceramic composite substrates.  相似文献

Results are provided for a study of the development of high-temperature mullite-zirconium ceramic with use of activated ceramic powders prepared by grinding for different times with addition of illite clay, and from pure oxide powders. It is shown that increased activity and amorphicity of ground particles considerably promotes formation of mullite phase at 1200°C, and also transition of the monoclinic modification of ZrO2 to tetragonal, particularly with an increase in firing temperature. It is proposed that as a result of rapid “freezing” the structure retains the high-temperature modification of ZrO2, having a tendency with slow ceramic cooling to transform into the monoclinic modification.  相似文献

简述了聚合物先驱体转化陶瓷(PDC)法在制备陶瓷纤维、陶瓷涂层和陶瓷粘接等方面的应用,重点介绍了PDC法在微机电系统(MEMS)器件制造中的发展概况。耐高温MEMS的发展面临两大挑战:高温材料的选择和发展合适的微加工技术。指出了传统加工技术制备陶瓷MEMS的不足,着重介绍了PDC法制备陶瓷MEMS的优缺点。以国外采用PDC法制备陶瓷MEMS的几种典型器件为例,指出该方法在制备陶瓷MEMS器件中存在的问题和未来的发展方向。  相似文献

众所周知,原料是陶瓷工业的基础,原料质量的优劣是影响坯、釉料工艺性能,以及生产工艺控制和产品性能的一个重要因素。因此,了解并掌握各类原料的性能和作用对于正确选择原料,制定合理的配方和确定适当的工艺流程有重大的实际意义。在实际生产中,当配方确定后(在其他工艺条件不变的情况下)原料化学成分的改变,就会引起物质结构的变化以及瓷体岩相间量比的变化,同时也会改变产品的整体性能,如高温液相粘度、热膨胀系数、产品白度、光泽度、热稳定性、机械强度等。所以原料的组成和物理性能的稳定对陶瓷产品质量的稳定起决定性的作用。因此,如何科学地选择、鉴别和利用日趋减少的、不可再生的矿产资源,一直是业内同行十分关注的问题。笔者结合生产实践,通过2000多次对原料的外观、化学成分、有机物、烧结性、解胶性等方面性能的检测,得出一些经验体会愿与同行探讨。  相似文献

A silicate ceramic that is similar to porcelain and exhibits a maximum toughness of 4.6 MPa m1/2 was obtained by tape casting from kaolin and 3 vol% of alumina fibers. Improved toughness and strength are achieved with the organized micro-composite microstructure that results from preferential orientation during the shaping of kaolinite particles and fibers in-plane of layers. During sintering, typical nucleation and growth processes of mullite produce specific microstructural characteristics, such as bulk zones, oriented fibers and large interfacial zones between the fibers and the bulk. Toughening is attributed to the decreased crack energy in the bulk ceramic, in which a dense and organized network of short mullite occurs, and in interfacial zones containing a superimposed network of large mullite. The silicate ceramic that is reinforced by only 3 vol% of the alumina fibers is strong (95 MPa) and tough (4.6 MPa m1/2); although these properties are often mutually exclusive.  相似文献

The composition of a stiff molding mixture has been developed for making concrete ceramic solid brick by press molding or vibrocompression. The brick has a standard size, beige or light red color, and meets the requirements of GOST 530–95. The production cost of this brick is 30–35% lower than that of analogous ceramic bricks because the firing operation is excluded from the production cycle.  相似文献
