The relative per cents of polar and neutral lipids and the fatty acid profile of the polar and neutral lipids of nine thermophilic and nine mesophilic fungi were examined and compared. The polar lipids of the thermophiles contained an average of 0.89 double bonds per mole fatty acid (unsaturation index, USI) and were considerably more saturated than the corresponding lipids of the mesophiles (average 1.32 USI). Within the thermophilic species the polar lipids were generally more saturated than the neutral lipids (average 0.95 USI) and in the mesophilic species the polar lipids were usually more saturated than the neutral lipids (average 1.14 USI). The mesophiles produced higher levels of 16∶1, 18∶2 and 18∶3 fatty acids than the thermophiles and preferentially incorporated 16∶1 and 16∶2 into their polar lipids. The thermophiles produce higher levels of saturated fatty acids and 18∶1 than the mesophiles and preferentially incorporated the saturated fatty acids into their polar lipids.  相似文献

The neutral and polar lipid composition ofEntomophthora coronata was determined qualitatively. The fungus was grown on a chemically nondefined medium (Sabouraud dextrose yeast extract) and a chemically defined medium for a period up to 26 days. The lipids were characterized by thin-layer, column, gas chromatography, and selective sprays,32P-labeling, and mass spectrometry. The neutral lipids consist of monoglycerides, diglycerides, cholesterol, free fatty acids, triglycerides, and cholesteryl esters. The polar lipids consist of phospholipids (phosphatidyl ethanolamine, phosphatidyl choline, lysophosphatidyl ethanolamine, lysophosphatidyl choline, and spingomyelin), a number of glycolipids including cerebrosides, and many unrecognizable lipids, most of which are present in trace amounts. The cerebrosides and spingomyelin are present in significant amounts, and their concentration increased with age of the culture. The major fatty acids (>10%) of the total, neutral, and polar lipids of the mycelia are 14∶0, 16∶0, 18∶1, 18∶3(γ), and 24∶1. The polar lipids of total culture (unsaturation index 0.88) and of the conidia (unsaturation index 1.48) are considerably more unsaturated than the corresponding neutral lipids (unsaturated index 0.50 and 0.49). The mycelial polar lipids, compared to the neutral lipids, possess less 14∶0 and 18∶1 but contain a greater percentage of 16∶0, 18∶2, 18∶3(γ), 24∶0, and 24∶1. The major fatty acid of the conidia (>10%) are 13∶0, 14∶0, 18∶1, 18∶2, 18∶3(γ), and 20∶4. Their polar lipids have a higher proportion of 18∶2, 18∶3(γ), and 20∶4. The cerebrosides possess 24.1 in high relative proportion (30.1%). Presented at the AOCS Meeting, Atlantic City, October 1971.  相似文献

The carbon and energy source for aerobically grown cultures ofCandida guilliermondii profoundly influenced the neutral lipid content and the fatty acid composition of the individual lipid components. Methanol (0.80%, w/v) grown cells cultivated at 30 C in presence of 0.025% ammonium sulfate contained 12% total lipids, 67% of which was neutral lipids. Glucose (0.74%, w/v) or ethanol (0.53%, w/v) grown cells contained 21–22% total lipids, 80% of which was neutral lipids, under the same conditions. Methanol-grown cells contained a decreased 18∶1 acid (52–54% of total fatty acids) and an increased 18∶2 acid (23–25%), as compared with glucose- or ethanol-grown cells which contained 57–66% 18∶1 acid and 8–14% 18∶2 acid, in both neutral and polar lipid fractions. The relationship between methanol metabolism and desaturation of fatty acid in yeast was discussed.  相似文献

The effect of a diet containingtrans-fatty acids (tFA) on the fatty acid composition and fat accumulation in adipose tissue was investigated in mice. Male C57BI/6J mice were fed Control or Trans Diets that were similar, except that 50% of the 18∶1, which was allcis in the Control Diet, was replaced bytFA in the Trans Diet. At selected ages, body weight, epididymal fat pad weight, perirenal fat yield, adipose tissue cellularity and fatty acid composition were examined. Over the time period studied (2–24 mon), the proportion of 18∶0 and 16∶0 tended to decrease whilecis-18∶1 levels increased. Compared to the Control Diet, the Trans Diet resulted in adipose tissue lipids with higher percentages of 14∶0 and 18∶2n−6 and lower percentages ofcis-18∶1 and 20∶4n−6. In polar lipids,tFA replaced saturated fatty acids, whereastFA replacedcis-18∶1 in the nonpolar lipids. Body weights at 16 and 24 mon of age and epididymal fat pad weights at 8–24 mon of age were lower in mice fed the Trans Diet as compared to those fed the Control Diet. At the ages studied, the Trans Diet also resulted in lower values for perirenal fat weights, triacylglycerol to polar lipid ratios, and adipose cell size. The data suggest that chronic consumption oftFA affects lipid metabolism and results in decreased fat accumulation in murine adipose tissue.  相似文献

Rhodotorula gracilis CFR-1 has been evaluated for its potential to produce lipids. The yeast lipids closely resembled palmolein, a liquid fraction of palm oil. It contained 2.3–3% free fatty acids, 64.4% tri-, 23.1% di-, and 6.1% mono-acylglycerols, 94.2% neutral and 5.8% polar lipids. Most abundant fatty acids were C18∶1, C16∶0, C18∶2 and C18∶0 (43.8, 28.5, 13.5 and 4.5%). All fatty acids, irrespective of the levels, followed definite patterns of increase or decrease during the advancement of fermentation. A pincers-shaped curve was obtained when the total saturation and unsaturation were plotted. Use of different glucose and molasses-based media did not show any significant overall effect on saturation (34.4–39.5%) and unsaturation (60.4–65.3%). Desaturation of fatty acids was found to be a metabolic function occurring in the process of cell maturation.  相似文献

Lipids of some thermophilic fungi   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Total lipid content in the thermophilic fungi—Thermoascus aurantiacus, Humicola lanuginosa, Malbranchea pulchella var.sulfurea, andAbsidia ramosa—varied from 5.3 to 19.1% of mycelial dry weight. The neutral and polar lipid fractions accounted for 56.4 to 80.2% and 19.8 to 43.6%, respectively. All the fungi contained monoglycerides, diglycerides, triglycerides, free fatty acids, and sterols in variable amounts. Sterol ester was detected only inA. ramosa. Phosphatide composition was: phosphatidyl choline (15.9–47%), phosphatidyl ethanolamine (23.4–67%), phosphatidyl serine (9.3–17.6%), and phosphatidyl inositol (1.9–11.9%). Diphosphatidyl glycerol occurred in considerable quantity only inH. lanuginosa andM. pulchella var.sulfurea. Phosphatidic acid, detected as a minor component only inM. pulchella var.sulfurea andA. ramosa, does not appear to be a characteristic phosphatide of thermophilic fungi as suggested earlier. The 16∶0, 16∶1, 18∶0, 18∶1, and 18∶2 acids were the main fatty acid components. In addition,A. ramosa contained 18∶3 acid. Total lipids contained an average of 0.93 double bonds per mole of fatty acids, and neutral lipids tend to be more unsaturated than phospholipids.  相似文献

Open-tubular gas chromatographic analysis of fatty acids in the lipids from the seeds of 20 species of Gymnospermae showed that they all contained nonmethylene-interrupted polyenoic (NMIP) acids as minor components and palmitic, oleic, linoleic and α-linolenic acids as major components. The NMIP acids have an additional 5,6-ethylenic bond in ordinary plant unsaturated fatty acids and the following C2 elongation acids:cis-5,cis-9-octadecadienoic acid (5,9–18∶2) (I); 5,9,12–18∶3 (II); 5,9,12,15–18∶4, 5,11–20∶2, 5,11,14–20∶3 (III); and 5,11,14,17–20∶4 (IV). The main NMIP acids found in neutral lipids are I in two species ofTaxus, II in seven species of Pinaceae, III in two species of Podocarpaceae,Torreya nucifera, Cycas revoluta, andGinkgo biloba, and III and IV in each of three species of Taxodiaceae, and Cupressaceae. The polar lipids constitute the minor fraction of seed lipids in general. The content and composition of NMIP acids in these lipids differe considerably from those in neutral lipids. Analysis of the partial cleavage products of triacylglycerols showed that the NMIP acids distribute mainly in the 1,3-position.  相似文献

Wax esters of secondary alcohols constitute 18–20% of the cuticular lipid extract ofMelanoplus packardii and 26–31% of the cuticular lipids ofMelanoplus sanguinipes. The total number of carbons in the wax esters range from 37–54 with 41 predominating in both species. The fatty acids ofM. packardii wax esters are 16∶0, 18∶0, 14∶0, 20∶0 and 12∶0 in decreasing quantity. The fatty acids ofM. sanguinipes wax esters are 18∶0, 20∶0, 16∶0 22∶0, 14∶0, 19∶0 and 17∶0 in decreasing quantity. The secondary alcohols from the wax esters ofM. packardii are C25, C23 and C27 in decreasing quantity, and the secondary alcohols of theM. sanguinipes are C23, C25, C21, C27, C24, C22 and C26 in decreasing quantity. Each secondary alcohol consists of two to four isomers with the hydroxyl group located near the center of the chain. Montana Agriculture Experiment Station, Journal Series No. 332.  相似文献

Lipids from five cultivars of highbush blueberries (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) were extracted and fractionated into neutral lipids (60–66%), glycolipids (20–22%) and phospholipids (14–18%). The major fatty acids in all fractions were palmitic (16∶0), oleic (18∶1), linoleic (18∶2), and linolenic (18∶3) acids. All lipid classes had a large concentration of C18 polyunsaturated acids (84–92%), indicating that blueberries are a rich source of linoleic and linolenic acids. Changes in the fatty acid composition of neutral lipids and phospholipids were not significantly different among the five cultivars, but significant differences were noted in the ratios of linoleic and linolenic acids in the glycolipids fraction.  相似文献

The total lipids and fatty acid composition ofEntomophthora coronata were determined. The fungus was grown on a chemically defined medium and a chemically nondefined medium (Sabouraud dextrose yeast extract) for a period of 26 days. The organism contained from 16.2% to 44.6% total lipids depending upon the days of growth. The major fatty acids were 12∶0 (5.5–9.0%), 13∶0 (1.2–8.2%), 14∶0 (33.5–43.5%), 16∶0 (9.7–13.9%), 18∶19 (20.4–22.4%), and 18∶29,12 (3.5–10.5%). Lesser amounts of 15∶0, 16∶1, 16∶2, 17∶0, 18∶0, two other 18∶2 (both having conjugated double bonds), 18∶36,9,12, another 18∶3 (conjugated double bonds), 20∶38,11,14, 20∶45,8,11,14, another 20∶4 (conjugated double bonds), and 24∶1 acids were found. Trace amounts of 20∶0, 20∶1, 20∶2, 22∶0 and 24∶0 were also present. The relative percentage of most of the fatty acids did not vary appreciably with growth. However, 18∶29,12 and 20∶45,8,11,14 increased with age of the chemically defined culture. Peak E (18∶2, conjugated double bonds) increased and 13∶0 and 18∶36,9,12 decreased with age of the chemically nondefined culture. The fatty acids were predominately saturated (56.9–69.1%) and contained a high percentage of shorter chain fatty acids (C 12 to C 15). The fatty acids of the chemically defined culture were more unsaturated than the Sabouraud culture and the unsaturation increased with age of the culture.  相似文献

Fatty acid composition of neutral and polar lipid fractions from rat hearts was determined in rats of different ages as their diet source changed. Piebald rats were weaned at 21 days and were fed standard lab chow. Lipids from rat hearts, mothers milk and lab chow were purified on a Sephadex G-25 fine column and separated into neutral and polar lipid fractions by silicic acid column chromatography. These lipid fractions were then hydrolyzed and methylated with BF3 in methanol, prior to gas liquid chromatographic separation on a 1/8 in. × 10 ft aluminum column of 15% EGS on 80–100 mesh acid-washed Chromosorb W. Three major fatty acids in the neutral lipid fraction comprised 72% of total neutral lipid fatty acids from young hearts. At sexual maturity (at least 74 days old) C18∶1 was the major fatty acid, followed by C16∶0 and C18∶0. The same three fatty acids comprised 83% of total polar lipid fatty acids, but C18∶0 was the major fatty acid, followed by C16∶0 and C18∶1. The fatty acid composition of dietary lipids influenced the total neutral lipid fatty acid composition of the rat heart, but had little influence on the fatty acid composition of the polar lipid fraction. Two unusual lipid classes were detected by thin-layer chromatography in the neutral lipids derived from goat cauda-epididymal sperm plasma membrane. The lipids were identified as wax esters and 1-O-alkyl-2,3-diacylglycerols based on chromatographic properties, identity of their hydrolysis products, and infrared/1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectral evidence. The membrane containedca. 3 and 5 μg/mg protein of wax esters and alkyldiacylglycerols, respectively. The relative proportions of wax esters and alkyldiacylglycerols in the total neutral lipids were 1.5% and 2.4%, respectively. The lipids contained fatty acids with chain lengths of C14 to C22. The major fatty acids of the wax esters were 14∶0, 16∶0, 16∶1ω7, 18∶0 and 18∶1ω9. The fatty acids in alkyldiacylglycerol were 16∶0, 18∶0, 22∶5ω3 and 22∶6ω3. Alkyldiacylglycerol was particularly rich in docosahexaenoic acid 22∶6ω3) representing 30% of the total fatty acids. The alcohols of wax ester were all saturated with C20–C29 carbon chains. The deacylated products derived from alkyldiacylglycerols were identified as hexadecyl, octadecyl and octadec-9′-enyl glycerol ethers.  相似文献

Open tubular gas liquid chromatographic (GLC) analyses of fatty acids from total lipids of 12 species of Echinoidea collected at several locations along the Pacific coast of Japan showed the same unusualcis-5-olefinic acids in all species, i.e.,cis-5-octadecenoic acid (5–18∶1),cis-5-eicosenoic acid (5–20∶1), all-cis-5,11- and 5,13-eicosadienoic acids (5,11- and 5,13–20∶2), allcis-5,11,14-eicosatrienoic acid (5,11,14–20∶3) and all-cis-5,11,14,17-eicosatetraenoic acid (5,11,14,17–20∶4). The structural analysis of partially purified 5,11,14,17–20∶4 was undertaken by reductive ozonolysis with GLC and gas chromatographic-mass spectrometric analyses of the products.13C-Nuclear magnetic resonance analyses of the totals and fractions of fatty acid methyl esters from the sea urchin lipids did not show any occurrence of fatty acids having an isolated olefinic bond in the 2, 3 or 4 positions. The 5-olefinic acids were concentrated on the polar lipids rather than neutral lipids. The branched and odd chain fatty acid contents of mud-feeding sea urchins were found to be relatively greater proportions of total fatty acids than in algae feeders.  相似文献

Lipids of gelatinous antarctic zooplankton: Cnidaria and Ctenophora   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Antarctic gelatinous zooplankton, including Cnidaria (Calycopsis borchgrevinki, Diphyes antarctica, Stygiomedusa gigantea, Atolla wyvillei, Dimophyes arctica) and Ctenophora (Beroe cucumis, B. forskalii, Pleurobrachia pileus, Bolinopsis infundibulum) were collected near Elephant Island, South Shetland Islands, during January and February 1997 and 1998. Total lipid was low in all zooplankton (0.1–5 mg g−1 wet mass) and included primarily polar lipids (59–96% of total lipid). Triacylglycerols were 0–26% of total lipids, and wax esters were 0–11% in all species. Cholesterol was the major sterol in all Cnidaria (50–63% of total sterols) whereas in most ctenophores it was lower at 26–45%. These cholesterol levels are consistent with a combined carnivorous and phytoplanktivorous diet in the ctenophores, with the carnivorous diet more dominant in the Cnidaria. Other sterols included primarily trans-dehydrocholesterol, desmosterol, 24-methylcholest-5,22E-dien-3β-ol, 24-nordehydrocholesterol, and 24-methylenecholesterol. Total stanols were 0–6% in all zooplankton. Eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid were the major polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) in all samples (7–25% of total fatty acids) except for A. wyvillei in which docosapentaenoic acid was 10% of total fatty acids. The PUFA 18∶5n−3 was not detected in 1997 samples, but constituted 0.2–0.8% in most 1998 samples. Monounsaturated fatty acids included primarily 18∶1n−9c, 16∶1n−7c, and 18∶1n−7c. The principal saturated fatty acids in all samples were 16∶0, 18∶0, and 14∶0. These data are the first for many of these zooplankton species and the first sterol data for most species. The use of the signature lipid approach has enabled examination of aspects of trophodynamics not obtainable by conventional techniques.  相似文献

Egg yolk lipids and maternal diet in the nutrition of turkey embryo   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Turkey hens were fed diets containing no added fat nor diets supplemented with soybean oil or neatsfoot oil. The composition of neutral and polar lipid fatty acids present in the unincubated turkey egg yolk was compared with that of those present in the yolk sac of the developing turkey embryo at different stages of development. Comparisons were made of the fatty acid fractions in the entire embryo homogenates, except liver and heart, which were analyzed separately. Changes in the relative amounts of the fatty acids are reported as affected by age of the embryo and by dietary lipids. The fatty acids from both the neutral and polar lipids which were utilized to the greatest extent for embryonic development were palmitoleic, oleic, linoleic, and linolenic, regardless of the dietary supplements. Arachidonic, tetracosenoic, and docosahexaenoic acids also were metabolized by the embryo. Saturated fatty acids, used by the embryo as development progressed, were palmitic, stearic, and arachidic acids. Analyses of the liver fatty acids showed that the C16∶0 C16∶1, C18∶0, C18∶1, and C20∶4 acids in the neutral and polar lipids decreased with embryonic development and varied with the type of diet. The heart contained low levels of myristic, palmitic, stearic, arachidic, and arachidonic acids in the neutral lipids and palmitoleic and oleic acids in the polar lipids.  相似文献

The lipid and fatty acid composition of muscle of 10 species of freshwater fish obtained from a market of Shanghai City was examined. Total lipids (TL) ranged over 0.9–4.7% of muscle for all samples. The content of triacylglycerol (TG) in muscle ranged over 0.2–3.4% and that of polar lipids (PL) was 0.5–1.3%. Differences of TL content were dependent on TG contents. The predominant important fatty acids (>10% of the total fatty acids in TL) were 16∶0 and 18∶1n−9 with some 16∶1n−7, 18∶2n−6, and 22∶6n−3. The polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) content was 10.2–43.4%, and especially Chinese sea bass contained above 20% of 22∶6n−3 in the total fatty acids. There were higher levels of PUFA such as 20∶5n−3 and 22∶6n−3 in PL than in neutral lipids. Muscle of the silver carp was stored at 20°C, and changes of lipid classes during storage were examined. Free fatty acids increased, and PL decreased during storage. This phenomenon was inhibited by heating the muscle, suggesting that lipid hydrolysis by phospholipase occurred in silver carp muscle.  相似文献

This study reports a facile identification of the molecular species of enantiomeric diacylglycerols by combining chiral phase high-performance liquid chromatography with positive chemical ionization mass spectrometry. For this purpose the 3,5-dinitrophenylurethane (DNPU) derivatives ofsn-1,2(2,3)-diacylglycerols are separated on an (R+)-naphthylethylamine polymer column (25 cm × 0.46 cm ID) using an isocratic solvent system made up of hexane/dichloroethane/acetonitrile (85∶10∶5, by vol) or isooctane/tert-butyl methyl ether/acetonitrile/isopropanol (80∶10∶5∶5, by vol). About 1% of the column effluent (1 mL/min) was admitted to a quadrupole mass spectrometer (Hewlett-Packard, Palo Alto, CA)via direct liquid inlet interface, and positive chemical ionization spectra were recorded over the range of 200–900 mass units. The DNPU derivatives of diacylglycerols yield characteristic [M-DNPU]+ and [RCO+74]+ ions for each diacylglycerol species from which the molecular weight and exact pairing of fatty acids can be unequivocally obtained. The characteristic ions appear to be generated in nearly correct mass proportions as indicated by preliminary quantitative comparisons. The abbreviations 14∶0, 16∶1, 18∶2, etc. represent normal chain fatty acids of 14, 16, 18, etc. acyl carbons and 0, 1, 2, etc. double bonds, respectively; 16∶0–18∶1, etc. represent diacylglycerols containing 16∶0 and 18∶1 fatty acids of unspecified positional distribution;sn indicates stereospecific numbering of glycerol carbons;sn-1,2-diacylglycerols andsn-2,3-diacylglycerols are enantiomeric diacylglycerols of unspecified fatty acid composition;rac-1,2-diacylglycerols are racemic diacylglycerols representing equal amounts ofsn-1,2-andsn-2,3-enantiomers;sn-1,2(2,3)-diacylglycerols are a mixture ofsn-1,2-andsn-2,3-diacylglycerols of unspecified proportion of enantiomers and unspecified fatty acid compisition and positional distribution; X-1,3-diacylglycerols are diacylglycerols of unspecified fatty acid composition and reverse isomer content.  相似文献

Neutral lipids and phospholipids in the body wall, lemnisci and pseudocoel and neutral lipids of fluid found in the “tube” system of the lemnisci and the lacunar system of the body wall ofMacracanthorhynchus hirudinaceus (Acanthocephala) were determined by the technique of thin layer chromtography and gas chromatography (GC). Sixteen different fatty acids from nonpolar lipids were identified as follows: 8∶0, 10∶0, 11∶0, 12∶0, 13∶0, 14∶0, 14∶1, 16∶0, 18∶0, 18∶1, 18∶2 and/or 20∶0, 18∶3 and/or 20∶1, 20∶3, 22∶1, 24∶1 and 22∶6. In addition, there were three unidentified GC peaks corresponding to chain lengths greater than 20 carbons. Sixteen different fatty acids from phospholipids were identified in each of the three fractions analyzed. They were as follows: 10∶0, 11∶0, 12∶0, 13∶0, 14∶0, 14∶1, 16∶0, 16∶1, 18∶0, 18∶1, 18∶2 and/or 20∶0, 20∶2, 20∶3, 22∶1, 24∶1, and 22∶6. Four unidentified peaks were also observed. There was a significant difference in the percentage of lipid as well as the concentration of particular fatty acids when each fraction was compared. There was also an abundant supply of sterols and glycerides in each fraction.  相似文献

The sterol composition of free sterol and steryl ester fractions of the fish parasiteParatenuisentis ambiguus was determined. In addition, the fatty acid composition of various neutral lipid classes, i.e., wax esters, steryl esters, triacylglycerols and free fatty acids, as well as the composition of the 1-O-alkyl moieties of total ether glycerolipids of the parasite, were investigated. The results of these studies were compared with those obtained on the intestinal tract tissue of its host, the eel (Anguilla anguilla). Cholesterol is the major sterol in bothP. ambiguus andA. anguilla. However, the sterols ofP. ambiguus contain high proportions (>20%) of other sterols, such as campesterol and various dehydrosterols. [e.g., 7-dehydrocholesterol and cholesta-5,22(E)-dienol]. The presence of these minor sterols agrees with the known biotransformations of exogenous sterols in various helminths. Considerable differences are found in the fatty acid composition of neutral lipid fractions, as well as the total lipid extract from the endoparasite as compared to the host tissue. In particular, eicosapentaenoic acid (20∶5n−3), other polyunsaturated fatty acids, such as 20∶4n−6, 22∶5n−3 and 22∶6n−3, as well as long-chain saturated fatty acids, such as 20∶0, are generally enriched in the neutral lipid fractions of the parasite as compared to those of infected eel intestine. The analysis of ether glycerolipids revealed that 1-O-hexadecyl (16∶0) and 1-O-hexadecenyl (16∶1) moieties were present in similar proportions in the ether lipids of bothP. ambiguus and eel intestine, whereas 1-O-octadecyl (18∶0) moieties are more prominent in the parasite and 1-O-octadecenyl (18∶1) moieties in the eel. The results of these studies show thatP. ambiguus has specific mechanisms for the regulation of the sterol and fatty acid composition of its neutral lipids. Dedicated to Professor Helmut K. Mangold on the occasion of his 70th birthday.  相似文献

Total lipids from hepatopancreas of the horseshoe crabs,Tachypleus gigas andCarcinoscorpius rotundicauda, obtained in 7.6 and 3.3% wet weight respective yields, were fractionated by various chromatographic techniques and identified by gas-liquid chromatography and spectroscopic methods. Fatty acid-containing lipids were rich in 16∶0 (8.0–25%), 18∶1ω9 (6.9–22%) and 18∶2ω6 (6.8–18.5%); appreciable amounts of 16∶1ω7, 18∶3ω3, 20∶5ω3 and 22∶6ω3 were also present. The level of 26∶0 in the hydrocarbon fractions was unusually high (64 and 68%). Carbon chain lengths of major wax esters were 44, 46 and 48 forT. gigas and 38, 40 and 42 forC. rotundicauda. 1-O-Alkyl diglycerides were 7.2 and 9.1% of the total lipids in the two species and contained 14∶0(20%), 16∶0(60%) and 18∶0(20%) alkyl chains along with a relatively higher percentage (32–35%) of saturated fatty acids. High levels of cholesterol (>50% of total sterol) in the free and combined state were encountered in both samples, phospholipid contents being 40 and 35%, respectively, and contained highest levels of unsaturated fatty acids.  相似文献
