Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) help various organizations to use aggregated clinical data for research purposes. Consumers may concern that private companies could access their personal information and such information could be misused for other purposes. This study attempts to extend the application of privacy calculus theory in the HIE domain by developing a model centered on the perceived benefits, perceived risks, their dimensions and antecedents to predict consumers’ opt-in intention toward HIE use for research purposes.  相似文献

Systems development is an academic major in many information systems (IS) programs. Attracting students who are interested in systems development is important to increasing IS enrollment. The purpose of this study aims to empirically investigate which factors influence students’ decisions to select systems development as a major and future career. This research makes three contributions to IS research and education. First, the research findings extend previous research associating outcome expectations and job availability with attitudes toward systems development. IS educators can use these findings to create better recruiting strategies and to improve the IS curriculum. Second, the findings connect academic-major choice with career choice. The findings indicate that attitudes toward systems development and personal innovativeness in IT (PIIT) positively influence students’ intentions to pursue a career as a systems developer. Third, this research paves a foundation for further investigation into systems development behavior and performance in the workplace.  相似文献

Personalization refers to the tailoring of products and purchase experience to the tastes of individual consumers based upon their personal and preference information. Recent advances in information acquisition and processing technologies have allowed online vendors to offer varieties of web-based personalization that not only increases switching costs, but also serves as important means of acquiring valuable customer information. However, investments in online personalization may be severely undermined if consumers do not use these services due to privacy concerns. In the absence of any empirical evidence that seeks to understand this consumer dilemma, our research develops a parsimonious model to predict consumers usage of online personalization as a result of the tradeoff between their value for personalization and concern for privacy. In addition to this tradeoff, we find that a consumers intent to use personalization services is positively influenced by her trust in the vendor. Our findings suggest that: 1. online vendors can improve their abilities to acquire and use customer information through trust building activities; 2. it is of critical importance that vendors understand and evaluate the different values consumers may place in enjoying various types of personalization.  相似文献

A feasible region is employed to describe unknown parameters in thermodynamic models. The method is based on interval estimation of experimental observations, and it is applied to thermodynamic optimization of liquid phase in Ag–Mg system. A final feasible region is an overlapping area among all feasible regions calculated from different groups of data. A discussion of computational advantages on this method suggests that it is a promising method for parameter estimation, but its limitations require more studies on problems such as non-linear inequalities, multi-dimensional visualization and uncertainties in experimental conditions.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Working with Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) is challenging, especially for learners, as ICT control most of their work environment. These learners need to be supported with solutions that are up-to-date with the technological challenges, and can keep up with the fast-paced evolving ICT. Acquiring new knowledge is important for the progress of learners, but it is getting harder to obtain with the overwhelming amount of resources produced by many Information Systems (ISs) in the learning environment. In order to help learners manage resources, we are following the approach of System of Information Systems (SoIS) to support learners. The SoIS gives the opportunity to explore how individual and organisational learning can be enhanced through a combination of different ISs in the learning environment. In this context, we look into the orchestration of SoIS that can provide the ability to index, share, annotate, and recommend important resources in the learning environment. In that sense, this paper presents the approach of SoIS to support learners with a case study at the University of Technology of Compiègne.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of a novel health information technology (HIT), a large customizable interactive monitor (LCIM), implemented in a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). Specifically, we explored nurses’ perceptions of this novel HIT application and its perceived effect on family engagement. We used a qualitative research design to collect and analyze data from 55 PICU nurses in seven focus groups. A trained moderator followed a semi-structured discussion guide with questions related to perceptions, attitudes, and care team interactions with the LCIM. Groups were audio-recorded, transcribed, and coded using content analysis procedure. Six major themes emerged from the nurse focus groups, which include familiarity and use routines, positive perceptions with the LCIM, negative perceptions with the LCIM, privacy, training, and suggestions for improvement. Insights into nurses’ perceptions of the LCIM have the potential to improve family-centered care.  相似文献

This paper explores students’ perceptions of creativity in learning Information Technology (IT) in project groups and the implications of better educating creative IT students for the future. Theoretically, the extension of social psychology research into creativity lays the basis of bringing creativity, learning and IT education into one framework. Empirically, qualitative interviews were carried out with 48 students from three disciplines, including Computer Science (n = 16), Electronic Systems (n = 15) and Medialogy (n = 17) at Aalborg University (AAU) in Denmark, which has a tradition of using problem-based learning (PBL) in student project groups. According to the findings, the students’ perceptions of creativity reflect their domain-related conceptualization and tacit learning experience, with different levels of confidence of being creative persons. As IT plays multiple roles in developing students’ creativity, it can be regarded as a ‘learning partner’. This implies that in the future creativity should be taught more explicitly, helping students to become creative IT talents as a part of their professional identity. It also requires teaching efforts to build a learning environment that stimulates creativity more effectively through more interactions between learners, learning tasks and learning tools.  相似文献

This paper reports the key results of an in depth analysis of ten years worth of data about business relocations to the State of New Jersey. The analyses have focused on the key geographic patterns of business relocations, and an econometric investigation of the role of transportation accessibility on the business relocation process. The estimated models focus on explaining the business relocation behavior, as well as the business relocation flows from the original locations to New Jersey.The first model assumes that the probability of a business relocating to a given location in New Jersey is a function of the combined attraction to the economic poles of New York City and Philadelphia. The results obtained suggest the existence of two opposing trends concerning the role played by New York City. The discrete choice models estimated provide additional insights into the role of transportation accessibility, suggesting that the type of economic activity performed by the firm shapes the firm’s valuation of accessibility to markets.The paper also studied the role of transportation accessibility as an explanatory variable of the business relocation flows by means of estimating aggregate demand models and destination constrained gravity models. In all cases the authors were able to estimate statistically significant and conceptually valid models that explain the aggregate behavior of the variables under study. These models were estimated for both the total number of relocations (all firms) as well as the major industry types. The resulting models were used to compute the elasticities with respect to accessibility variables. The chief conclusion is that different industry types exhibit different elasticities.In order to do the computations for the elasticities of the gravity model, the authors developed a mathematical formulation. Simply stated, this formulation demonstrates that the elasticity of the spatial interaction between an origin i and a destination j is simply the summation of the elasticities at the production end, and at the destination. The market elasticity is then computed as the weighted average of the elasticities for each of the market segments.  相似文献

This study deals with the subjects considering the social networking service (SNS) user’s ‘social knowledge value perception’, and ‘decision to word of mouth (WOM) of the corporate SNS post’. Cases of corporate management and marketing utilizing SNS have been increasing recently. Therefore researcher is trying to confirm the SNS user’s value perception of social knowledge has an effect on the decision of the word of mouth and information sharing of the corporate post. In addition, researcher has determined that the person in charge of the company is to make the management and this is very important. Thus, researcher has proposed a research model of the social knowledge value perception and WOM decision variable, include several precedents variables of user’s personal value factors like an emotional attachment, self-esteem, self exposure. Results of this study, the SNS user has recognized the value of social knowledge through the emotional and personal factors. And it was found to decided WOM by the mediating its perception. This was supported in the same way comparisons between groups. These results have an implication, that there is need to managing a service company to make the business and marketing the SNS is in mind the emotional and personal factors and the social knowledge recognition of the SNS user. That is person in charge of the corporate SNS site must understand the relationship of WOM decision of user and their various perception in personal and social sides. As a result, active minority user group deliver actively positive corporate message to a large number of other user groups. Therefore, the utilization of the SNS like these method, it is expected to become an important tool in order to carry out marketing activities and management of the company. Researcher confirmed the model fits and paths analysis of personal and social value factor model through the structural equation modeling. Researcher could identify that the emotional attachment and other personal factors and social knowledge value perception factors affected the WOM decision of social media corporate post. Finally, the results of study are expected to contribute to deal with the importance of emotional perception, social knowledge value perception, and WOM decision of SNS practically.  相似文献

In this article, we fill a dearth in the literature of Internet self-efficacy (ISS) measurement. We introduce the translation and validation of the Chinese-Mandarin version of the 8-item Information Retrieval On the Web Self-Efficacy scale (IROWSE scale), which has been originally developed in the French language (Rodon & Meyer, 2017). After back-forward translation procedure and content clarity, we ran a test of this new version. We checked the intrinsic psychometric properties including reliability, factor structure (CFA), and criterion-related validity regarding skills for retrieving information on the Web, general attitude toward the Web, experience, gender, and age. Assessment of construct validity indicated, as expected, a one-factor model for the eight items (with coefficient alpha equal to 0.90). Its sum-scores were not confounded with skill levels or general attitudes, and it founds its sources in direct experiences. Furthermore, research would take into account the Internet World population more broadly beyond the West with this new version.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The aim of this research was to gain a holistic understanding of patients’ and clinicians’ experiences with the CONDUIT-HID (CONtrolling Disease Using Inexpensive Technology—Hypertension In Diabetes) intervention, intended to be a technology-enabled consumer health informatics (CHI) approach to control hypertension. We examined patients’ experiences utilizing the technologies to share patient blood pressure data with their care team via a qualitative analysis of patient (n = 21) and clinician (n = 5) interviews. Using the SEIPS 2.0 sociotechnical systems model, our evaluation revealed that minimizing usability issues and supporting participant workflow were important—but not sufficient—for CHI intervention success. The ability of the CHI intervention to support the cognitive development of patients’ self-management skills and to facilitate strategic collaboration among care team members was also important. These insights can provide CHI and the human–computer interaction (HCI) communities with a framework of generalizable findings to better design future CHI interventions.  相似文献
