A new microstrip antenna with a back-to-back configuration relative to a slot on a ground plane is proposed. The proposed antenna has an omnidirectional or bidirectional radiation pattern in a horizontal plane. The characteristics of the proposed antenna were clarified by experiments. The input impedances and radiation patterns were measured as parameters of the slot length. Good input impedances and radiation patterns have been obtained. The proposed antenna is suitable for a base station in many wireless communications, and for a portable telephone  相似文献

A broadband microstrip-fed printed antenna is proposed for phased antenna array systems. The antenna consists of two parallel-modified dipoles of different lengths. The regular dipole shape is modified to a quasi-rhombus shape by adding two triangular patches. Using two dipoles helps maintain stable radiation patterns close to their resonance frequencies. A modified array configuration is proposed to further enhance the antenna radiation characteristics and usable bandwidth. Scanning capabilities are studied for a four-element array. The proposed antenna provides endfire radiation patterns with high gain, high front-to-back (F-to-B) ratio, low cross-polarization level, wide beamwidth, and wide scanning angles in a wide bandwidth of 103%  相似文献

A center-fed circular microstrip patch antenna with a coupled annular ring is presented. This antenna has a low profile configuration with a monopole like radiation pattern. Compared to the center-fed circular patch antenna (CPA), the proposed antenna has a large bandwidth and similar radiation pattern. The proposed antenna is fabricated and tested. It resonates at 5.8 GHz, the corresponding impedance bandwidth and gain are 12.8% and 5.7 dBi, respectively. Very good agreement between the measurement and simulation for the return loss and radiation patterns is achieved.  相似文献

The configuration of a back-to-back rectangular-patch antenna fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) is proposed. The characteristics of the proposed antenna element were clarified by experiments. The radiation patterns and input impedances were measured as parameters of the widths of the rectangular patch and the substrate. Experimental results for an array antenna using the proposed back-to-back rectangular-patch antenna element are described. Good omnidirectional radiation patterns and input impedance characteristics were obtained. The proposed array antenna is suitable for microcellular, wireless LAN, and indoor radio systems  相似文献

A bow-tie slot antenna fed by CPW is introduced. It is designed to work in the Ku-band around 15.5 GHz. The proposed antenna is analysed both theoretically and experimentally. The presented results include the return loss and the radiation patterns. Two different geometries of the bow-tie antenna are presented and compared. The proposed antenna has several advantages such as a very large bandwidth, good control of its input impedance, and ease of fabrication. The proposed antenna has a dipole like radiation pattern which makes it suitable for mobile communication systems designed to work in the Ku-band  相似文献

A broadband differential-fed patch antenna (DFPA) with good radiation pattern is proposed and studied. Unlike conventional DFPAs, the proposed antenna employs a folded plate pair as the differential feeding scheme. The devised feeding approach subtly acts as an impedance matching media for two radiation modes of the antenna, conducing to the wide impedance bandwidth. The conceived bandwidth enhancement technique demonstrates an impedance bandwidth (SWR les2) of up to 74% which outperforms conventional broadband patch antennas of more than 20%. Meanwhile, by using a differentially-driven signal along with the introduced feeding scheme, symmetric radiation patterns, low cross-polarization levels and stable radiation patterns are realized within the band. More importantly, the antenna has a stable gain at 8.5 dBi within a wide frequency range, demonstrating the high stability of the radiation characteristics for the two radiation modes. Analysis and parametric studies of the proposed feeding structure are provided.  相似文献

A technology based on a meshed silver/titanium bilayer printed on glass substrate is briefly presented. A sheet resistance equal to 0.054 /sq with 81.3 of optical transparency is obtained. The performances of a monopole antenna made from such a material have been investigated. The measured S11 and gain of the transparent antenna are compared with those of an antenna fabricated from a reflective silver/titanium film, and stand for reference. The transparent antenna provides radiation efficiency better than 85%.  相似文献

A semi-planar miniaturized antenna which operates over the FCC allocated UWB spectrum is presented. The small antenna comprises a folded conducting element connected to a printed section. Several solutions are introduced which create different current paths increasing the effective dimensions of the antenna. The antenna is examined for the stand-alone case and for the antenna mounted in various locations on a larger handset-type groundplane. The impedance and radiation characteristics show a relative independence of the groundplane size and the antenna location on it. The proposed antenna is a valuable candidate for handset applications due to its compactness. The proposed antenna may be employed in UWB communications systems and exhibits quasi-omnidirectional radiation patterns over the full impedance bandwidth.  相似文献

A very ultra-wideband compact microstrip slot antenna targeting the 3.1-10.6-GHz frequency band is presented. The proposed antenna is a simple printed slot antenna with a novel radiator, which is fed by a 50 Omega CPW line. The measured return loss extends from 2.8-33.4-GHz, about 169-. The proposed antenna has a compact size of 24-25-mm. The measured radiation patterns confirm that the antenna shows an approximately omnidirectional radiation pattern.  相似文献

A broadband helical liquid antenna made of saline water is proposed. A transparent hollow support is employed to fabricate the antenna. The rotation structure is fabricated with a thin flexible tube. The saline water with a concentration of 3.5% can be injected into or be extracted out from the tube to change the quantity of the solution. Thus, the tunability of the radiation pattern could be realised by applying the fluidity of the liquid. The radiation feature of the liquid antenna is compared with that of a metal one, and fairly good agreement has been achieved. Furthermore, three statements of the radiation performance corresponding to the ratio of the diameter to the wavelength of the helical saline water antenna have been proposed. It has been found that the resonance frequency increases when the length of the feeding probe or the radius of the vertical part of the liquid decreases. The fractional bandwidth can reach over 20% with a total height of 185 mm at 1.80 GHz. The measured results indicate reasonable approximation to the simulated. The characteristics of the liquid antenna make it a good candidate for various wireless applications, especially the wearable systems.  相似文献

A small planar elliptical dipole antenna designed for ultra-wideband applications is proposed. With trimmed elliptical radiation patches and microstrip-coupled feeding structure, it exhibits excellent broadband behaviours and radiation patterns similar to those of a conventional dipole antenna. A novel antipodal wide-slot antenna for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications is proposed and studied in detail. The antenna is fed by a microstrip line terminated with a rectangular tuning patch. An antipodal structure is employed to improve the radiation performances. The return losses, surface E-field, current distribution, radiation patterns and gains of the antenna are numerically and experimentally investigated. Results show that the proposed antipodal antenna has an impedance bandwidth from 0.79 to 4.0?GHz, which is about 5:1. Compared with conventional rectangular wide-slot antenna, more stable radiation pattern with lower cross-polarisation level and flatter gain variation over a 3:1 bandwidth can be obtained. Thus, the proposed antenna should be more suitable for future UWB-multiple-input multiple-output applications using polarisation diversity than conventional UWB rectangular slot antennas.  相似文献

A new structure for a microstrip patch antenna fabricated on a highly lossy and thin FR4 substrate is presented. Elevated radiating edges of the metallic patch with notches as inductive loading form the patch antenna. This structure effectively reduces the dielectric loss and enhances the radiation efficiency. The proposed antenna has been designed and tested at 3.1 GHz as an example. It showed increased radiation power levels of more than 3 dB in both E- and H-plane radiation patterns when compared with those of a conventional planar patch antenna, indicating enhanced radiation efficiency.  相似文献

A reconfigurable Fresnel-zone-plate (FZP) antenna, capable of dynamic beam scanning, is introduced. The FZP consists of a series of thin metal shutters, which discretize the antenna aperture into a number of reconfigurable transparent and opaque zones. The shutters are individually controlled to focus the beam at a desired location. Beam scanning of at least +40deg from broadside with a small degradation in gain is possible in one plane using this design. This paper examines the effects of zone discretization on the ideal radiation patterns using full-wave numerical modeling. These effects are then verified by the measurements of a prototype antenna designed at 23 GHz.  相似文献

文章提出一种简单可行的高频电大尺寸天线辐射测量新方法.该方法基于天线形面光学精密测量,将形面分为多个区域,每个区域带入实际光学测试采样点数据,采用电磁场数值计算得到天线的辐射方向图.光学测试系统提供了足够高的测试精度可以满足微波、毫米波甚至太赫兹等频段天线的测试要求.该方法还可以解决超大型可展开天线测试以及模拟星载环境实验条件下天线辐射测试难题.  相似文献

A new method for the visualization and diagnostics of transparent gradient inhomogeneities (3D laser refractography) is proposed. The method is based on the refraction of the structured laser radiation (SLR) in a transparent inhomogeneous medium, digital detection, and computer processing of 2D (in the transmitted radiation) and 3D (in the scattered radiation) refraction patterns. A scheme of the setup for the observation of 3D refractograms is presented, and a procedure for the construction of the refractograms using the experimental 2D refraction patterns of SLR is proposed. An algorithm for the reconstruction of the refractive index in the transient layer of stratified medium based on the 3D refractograms is described.  相似文献

A small dual‐polarized base station antenna with a simple isolation patch is presented. A high isolation is achieved when using a shorted metallic isolation patch. The experimental results indicate that the measured impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna is 1.72 GHz to 1.89 GHz for small cell systems and that the isolation is more than 30 dB. The proposed antenna exhibits good radiation patterns with a peak gain of 8 dBi.  相似文献

In the proposed work, Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) cavity-backed circularly polarized slot antenna for wideband operation is proposed. A square-ring-slot is etched on the top of the SIW cavity, used for radiation To generate the circularly polarized (CP) wave, the slot is placed slightly offset from the centroid of the cavity. By finely optimizing the antenna dimensions, it exhibits a wide axial-ratio (AR) bandwidth of 789 MHz (7.1%) ranging from 10.64 to 11.45 GHz. Moreover, the radiating slot is excited by an SIW based feed by an inductive window, which lead to a wide impedance matching over 1.74 GHz ranging from 9.92 to 11.67 GHz. Due to the SIW cavity-backing structure, the antenna offers unidirectional radiation patterns while maintaining a low-profile and planar compatibility. To validate the proposed design, the antenna is fabricated and experimentally tested in terms of reflection coefficients, AR, gain, and radiation patterns. The simulated and measured results reveal good mutual agreement. Moreover, the proposed antenna is very useful for wideband applications operating in X-band (8–12 GHz)  相似文献

We proposed a novel electromagnetic band‐gap (EBG) cell‐embedded antenna structure for reducing the interference that radiates at the antenna edge in wireless access in vehicular environment (WAVE) communication systems for vehicle‐to‐everything communications. To suppress the radiation of surface waves from the ground plane and vehicle, EBG cells were inserted between micropatch arrays. A simulation was also performed to determine the optimum EBG cell structure located above the ground plane in a conformal linear microstrip patch array antenna. The characteristics such as return loss, peak gain, and radiation patterns obtained using the fabricated EBG cell‐embedded antenna were superior to those obtained without the EBG cells. A return loss of 35.14 dB, peak gain of 10.15 dBi at 80°, and improvement of 2.037 dB max at the field of view in the radiation beam patterns were obtained using the proposed WAVE antenna.  相似文献
