Maintenance costs in advanced manufacturing companies, e.g. electronics manufacturing companies, have been steadily increasing as the companies upgrade their production facilities. Maintenance costs are normally a considerable portion of the product cost. To maintain a competitive place in the market, it is critical for an advanced manufacturing company to have a sound maintenance management system, which can control its maintenance costs at the lowest level and maintain its overall equipment effectiveness at the highest level. This paper reports on an integrated maintenance management system, which has been developed and implemented in an advanced electronics manufacturing company in Hong Kong. The methods and principles of the system are discussed in sections on maintenance performance auditing, cost recording and tracing, reliability centred maintenance planning and control, condition monitoring and on-line feedback control, and integrated maintenance planning and control.  相似文献

This paper deals with an integrated production planning problem in the presence of manufacturing partners. In this environment, although most of the products and parts are produced in local plants, they can also be purchased from any desirable manufacturing partners at reasonable costs. The objective of this study is to provide efficient integrated production plans for both local plants with finite production capacity and manufacturing partners, while minimizing the total production costs. For solving this problem, we formulated an integrated production planning problem by modifying a multi-level lot-sizing (MLLS) problem, and proposed an efficient genetic-algorithm-based heuristic for minimizing the costs of production, inventory, and subcontracting with manufacturing partners. The proposed heuristic consists of a unique chromosome structure, a chromosome-generation method, and genetic operators. The experimental analysis shows that the proposed heuristic generates quite good solutions at low computational costs, in comparison with a commercial optimization package.  相似文献

For a designed part, if different sets of features are used for machining, the manufacturing costs may vary. In this research, the different manufacturing costs for the different feature-based machining methods are analyzed using an activity-based cost model. First, the activities required for machining a set of features are analyzed. Second, the activity-related cost for each activity is evaluated based on a consistent time scale. The summation of costs of the activities equals the manufacturing cost for producing the part. Finally, the different manufacturing costs corresponding to the multiple feature-based machining methods are evaluated. The set of features that can be machined with the lowest manufacturing cost is considered a good way to produce the part. Example parts are tested and discussed.  相似文献

星载天线配电器是卫星对载荷母线的分配与控制单元,天线配电器开关机控制与放电控制的可靠性对雷达系统设备的可靠运行非常关键.为了实现配电器小型化设计,减少内部大量布线,优化结构与电路布局,文中根据星载天线配电器电路设计及使用的特点,提出了新型的设计方案,改变了常规的设计理念,采用多层叠加组合方式完成配电器的设计,不仅比初始方案减小21%的体积,解决了内部走线困难的问题,而且也方便了配电器的装配、调试与维护,可以实现单层单元的备件互换,提高产品的可靠性.利用ANSYS软件对新型结构设计方案进行了力学与热学仿真分析,优化结构设计,分析结果满足星载环境要求,并在振动及温度循环试验中得到了验证.  相似文献

In the manufacturing process, loop layout problems (LLPs) are preferred to configurations like single row layout, double row layout, cluster layout, and circular layout for their relative lower initial investment costs because they contain a minimal number of required material links to connect all workstations while providing a high degree of material handling flexibility. The performance of a system is based on the impact of the loop layout. Most of these LLPs are non-polynomial hard. Numerous research works related to loop layout have been published. The literature analysis given here is not restricted to specific considerations about loop layout design. This paper aims to deal with the current and future trends of research on LLPs based on previous research including formulations, solution methodologies. A trend toward bidirectional assumption, large-sized test problems, mixed integer programming, shortcuts instead of additional loop, loading and waiting time for shortcuts, integration of the supply chain management with the data envelopment analysis and also integrate exact, decomposition algorithm with metaheuristics, and developing loop layout using metaheuristics such as scatter search algorithm, improved tabu search, and artificial bees colony algorithm to loop layout is observed. The process of product design is driven toward achieving design specifications while meeting cost targets. Designers typically have models and tools to aid in functional and performance analysis of the design but few tools and little quantitative information to aid in cost analysis. Estimates of the cost of manufacture often are made through a cost multiplier based on material cost. Manufacturing supplies guidelines to aid in design, but these guidelines often lack the detail needed to make sound design decisions.A need was identified for a quantitative way for modeling manufacturing costs at Motorola. After benchmarking cost modeling efforts around the company, an activity-based costing method was developed to model manufacturing cycle time and cost. Models for 12 key manufacturing steps were developed. The factory operating costs are broken down by time, and cost is allocated to each product according to the processing it requires. The process models were combined into a system-level model, capturing subtle yet realistic operational detail.The framework was implemented in a software program to aid designers in calculating manufacturing costs from limited design information. Since the information tool provides an estimate of manufacturing costs at the design prototype stage, the development engineer can identify and eliminate expensive components and reduce the need for costly manufacturing processing. Using this methodology to make quantitative trade-offs between material and manufacturing costs, significant savings in overall product costs are achieved.  相似文献
