Ad Hoc networks are prone to link failures due to mobility. In this letter, a link perdurability based routing scheme is proposed to try dealing with this problem. This scheme uses signal strength measurements to estimate the route life time and hence chooses a stable route, and is implemented in two typical ad hoc routing protocols to evaluate its performance.The simulation results have shown that this scheme can improve these protocols‘ packet delivery ratio in cases where there are frequent link failures. 相似文献

通过分析Ad Hoe网络的特点及基于QoS的多播路由问题,提出了一种新的分布式多播路由算法。实验和分析的结果表明,文中构造的路由方案成功地解决了Ad Hoe网中基于QoS的多播路由问题。当Ad Hoe网络的拓扑结构改变不太快时,本文提出的路由方案不仅满足了实时业务对网络带宽和端到端延时的要求,优化了路由树的代价,而且有效地控制了算法的复杂性并可适用于大规模的网络中。 相似文献

Epidemic路由协议是第一个针对稀疏移动自组网提出的路由协议,它利用节点移动,相互之间不断"接触",使数据从源节点开始像病毒那样传播到网络中的其它节点。针对Epidemic协议中无效通信过程与到达目的节点的数据分组继续在网络中存在并扩散等不足,提出了一个改进协议E-EPI(Extend-Epidemic)。仿真实验表明,E-EPI协议在控制节点缓存大小的前提下,能保证较好的数据到达率。 相似文献

Routing protocols for mobile ad hoc networks can be classified into two categories: topological routing and geographic routing. Hybrid routing protocols that take advantage of both schemes have attracted a lot of attention recently. This article provides a systematic survey of these hybrid routing protocols. We first analyze the three types of routing information used in the hybrid routing protocols, namely, topological information, geographic information, and hierarchy information. Then, based on a review of the representative hybrid routing protocols, we summarize the three design options for hybrid routing protocols, namely, radius of the routing zone (1, k, or D), geographic information (position or position plus partition), and routing structure (flat or hierarchical). Finally, we propose a three-dimensional design framework that can accommodate well all of the existing hybrid routing protocols. The implementation of new networking technologies, such as multiprotocol label switching and differentiated services, will introduce powerful features to the near-future Internet backbone, making a significant contribution to the overall end-to-end provision of quality of service. However, to achieve such an improvement these technologies require not only effective support from current routing algorithms, but also enhanced capabilities, which are currently being developed. To contribute to this development, a novel and powerful scheme is introduced in this article that provides a means of supporting QoS routing through the use of mobile software agents. Specifically, we describe the use of mobile agents to efficiently realize multipoint-to-point routing trees by means of the Wave paradigm, while satisfying the QoS requirements of the set of traffic streams involved in the process. The delivery of quality video service often requires high bandwidth with low delay or cost in network transmission. Current routing protocols such as those used in the Internet are mainly based on the single-path approach (e.g., the shortest-path routing). This approach cannot meet the end-to-end bandwidth requirement when the video is streamed over bandwidth-limited networks. In order to overcome this limitation, we propose multipath routing, where the video takes multiple paths to reach its destination(s), thereby increasing the aggregate throughput. We consider both unicast (point-to-point) and multicast scenarios. For unicast, we present an efficient multipath heuristic (of complexity O(|V|/sup 3/)), which achieves high bandwidth with low delay. Given a set of path lengths, we then present and prove a simple data scheduling algorithm as implemented at the server, which achieves the theoretical minimum end-to-end delay. For a network with unit-capacity links, the algorithm, when combined with disjoint-path routing, offers an exact and efficient solution to meet a bandwidth requirement with minimum delay. For multicast, we study the construction of multiple trees for layered video to satisfy the user bandwidth requirements. We propose two efficient heuristics on how such trees can be constructed so as to minimize the cost of their aggregation subject to a delay constraint. 相似文献

Multipath routing protocols for Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET) address the problem of scalability, security (confidentiality and integrity), lifetime of networks, instability of wireless transmissions, and their adaptation to applications.Our protocol, called MultiPath OLSR (MP-OLSR), is a multipath routing protocol based on OLSR [1]. The Multipath Dijkstra Algorithm is proposed to obtain multiple paths. The algorithm gains great flexibility and extensibility by employing different link metrics and cost functions. In addition, route recovery and loop detection are implemented in MP-OLSR in order to improve quality of service regarding OLSR. The backward compatibility with OLSR based on IP source routing is also studied. Simulation based on Qualnet simulator is performed in different scenarios. A testbed is also set up to validate the protocol in real world. The results reveal that MP-OLSR is suitable for mobile, large and dense networks with large traffic, and could satisfy critical multimedia applications with high on time constraints. 相似文献

QoS qualifiers in the IP header are prone to attacks. Malicious modifications may lead to theft of service as well as denial of service. Standard IPsec does not cover these header fields, leaving them prone to attacks. The article proposes a variant of the IPsec authentication header that includes protection of these fields. The solution is designed for single-domain networks with planned origin, such as military ad hoc networks. 相似文献
