A series of new polyimides containing s‐triazine rings have been synthesized via Diels–Alder intermolecular polymerization of 2,6‐bis(2‐furanylmethylimino)‐4‐isopropoxy‐1,3,5‐triazine with various bis(maleimide)s. All the poly(imino‐s‐triazine imide)s were characterized by elemental analyses, FTIR spectral studies, number average molecular weight ( M n) by non‐aqueous conductometric titration and thermogravimetry. Glass‐fibre reinforced composites were prepared via an in situ Diels–Alder intermolecular reaction between 2,6‐bis(2‐furanylmethylimino)‐4‐isopropoxy‐1,3,5‐triazine and various bis(maleimide)s. The composites were characterized for chemical resistivity and mechanical properties. © 2003 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

4‐(4′‐Aminophenyl)‐1,2,4‐triazolidine‐3,5‐dione was reacted with 1 mol of acetyl chloride in dry N,N‐dimethylacetamide (DMAc) at ?15°C and 4‐(4′‐acetamidophenyl)‐1,2,4‐triazolidine‐3,5‐dione [4‐(4′‐acetanilido)‐1,2,4‐triazolidine‐3,5‐dione] (APTD) was obtained in high yield. The reaction of the APTD monomer with excess n‐isopropylisocyanate was performed at room temperature in DMAc solution. The resulting bis‐urea derivative was obtained in high yield and was finally used as a model for the polymerization reaction. The step‐growth polymerization reactions of monomer APTD with hexamethylene diisocyanate, isophorone diisocyanate, and tolylene‐2,4‐diisocyanate were performed under microwave irradiation and solution polymerization in the presence of pyridine, triethylamine, or dibutyltin dilaurate as a catalyst. Polycondensation proceeded rapidly, compared with conventional solution polycondensation; it was almost completed within 8 min. The resulting novel polyureas had an inherent viscosity in the range of 0.07–0.17 dL/g in dimethylformamide or sulfuric acid at 25°C. These polyureas were characterized by IR, 1H‐NMR, elemental analysis, and thermogravimetric analysis. The reaction of 4-phenyl-1,2,4-triazoline-3,5-dione (PhTD) ( 2 ) with trans-3,3-dichloro-1-phenyl-1-propene ( 4 ) was investigated at room and reflux temperatures in methylene chloride solution. Although the reaction is slow, it gives quantitative yield. This reaction leads to the formation of two 2:1 adducts via double Diels–Alder and Diels–Alder-Ene reactions in a ratio of about 1: 7. The major product was isolated by means of fractional crystallization as a pure compound and was characterized by infra-red (IR), 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), 13C NMR, mass spectra and elemental analysis. The structure of the minor product was determined by IR and 1H NMR. These compounds were used as models for the polymerization reactions. The reaction of bistriazolinediones (1,6-bis-(3,5-dioxo-1,2,4-triazoline-4-yl)hexane and bis-(p-3,5-dioxo-1,2,4-triazoline-4-ylphenyl)methane) with ( 4 ) was carried out in dimethylformamide (DMF). The reactions gave novel polymers via repetitive double Diels–Alder and Diels–Alder-Ene polyaddition reactions, with the major component being a Diels–Alder-Ene structure. These polymers have intrinsic viscosities in a range from 0·08 to 0·18dlg-1 in DMF. The physical properties and structural characterization of these polymers have been studied and are reported. © of SCI.  相似文献

The compound NIPTD was reacted with excess n‐propylisocyanate in N,N‐dimethylacetamide solution and gave 1‐(n‐propylamidocarbonyl)‐4‐[4′‐(1,8‐naphthalimidophenyl)]‐1,2,4‐triazolidine‐3,5‐dione ( 4 ) and 1,2‐bis(n‐propylamidocarbonyl)‐4‐[4′‐(1,8‐naphthalimidophenyl)]‐1,2,4‐ triazolidine‐3,5‐dione ( 5 ) as model compounds. Solution polycondensation reactions of monomer 3 with hexamethylene diisocyanate ( HMDI ), isophorone diisocyanate ( IPDI ), and tolylene‐2,4‐diisocyanate ( TDI ) were performed under microwave irradiation and conventional solution polymerization techniques in different solvents and in the presence of different catalysts, which led to the formation of novel aliphatic‐aromatic polyureas. The polycondensation proceeded rapidly, compared with conventional solution polycondensation, and was almost completed within 8 min. These novel polyureas have inherent viscosities in a range of 0.06–0.20 dL g?1 in conc. H2SO4 or DMF at 25°C. 4‐[4′‐(2‐Hydroxy‐1‐naphthylazo)phenyl]‐1,2,4‐triazolidine‐3,5‐dione ( HNAPTD ) ( 1 ) has been reacted with excess amount of n‐propylisocyanate in DMF (N,N‐dimethylformamide) solution at room temperature. The reaction proceeded with high yield, and involved reaction of both N? H of the urazole group. The resulting bis‐urea derivative 2 was characterized by IR, 1H‐NMR, elemental analysis, UV‐Vis spectra, and it was finally used as a model compound for the polymerization reaction. Solution polycondensation reactions of monomer 1 with Hexamethylene diisocyanate ( HMDI ) and isophorone diisocyanate ( IPDI ) were performed in DMF in the presence of pyridine as a catalyst and lead to the formation of novel aliphatic azo‐containing polyurea dyes, which are soluble in polar solvents. The polymerization reaction with tolylene‐2,4‐diisocyanate ( TDI ) gave novel aromatic polyurea dye, which is insoluble in most organic solvents. These novel polyureas have inherent viscosities in a range of 0.15–0.22 g dL?1 in DMF at 25°C. A novel fluorinated bis(ether amine) monomer, 2,6‐bis(4‐amino‐2‐trifluoromethylphenoxy) naphthalene, was prepared through the nucleophilic aromatic substitution reaction of 2‐chloro‐5‐nitrobenzotrifluoride and 2,6‐dihydroxynaphthalene in the presence of potassium carbonate, followed by catalytic reduction with hydrazine and Pd/C in ethanol. A series of novel trifluoromethylated polyimides were synthesized from the diamine with various commercially available aromatic tetracarboxylic dianhydrides using a two‐stage process with thermal imidization of poly(amic acid) films. Most of the resulting polyimides were highly soluble in a variety of organic solvents and could afford transparent and tough films via solution casting. These polyimides exhibited moderately high glass transition temperatures (Tgs) of 249–311 °C, high thermal stability and good mechanical properties. Low moisture (0.19–0.85 %), low dielectric constants (2.49–3.59 at 10 kHz), and low color intensity were also observed. For a comparative study, a series of analogous polyimides based on 2,6‐bis(4‐aminophenoxy)naphthalene were also prepared and characterized. Copyright © 2005 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

The zeolite H‐Beta catalyzes the retro‐Diels–Alder reaction of a range of cyclopentadiene cyclo‐adducts at moderate temperatures and ambient pressure, in the presence of an active dienophile. The active catalyst was identified and optimum reaction conditions established after screening a range of zeolites in the retro‐Diels–Alder reaction of the cyclopentadiene adduct of cyclopentenone. Our results suggest that retro‐Diels–Alder reactions of tricyclodecadienones are catalyzed by Brønsted acids and the high catalytic performance of H‐Beta catalysts can be ascribed to the optimal balance between the number of acid sites and their strength as well as to the accessibility of these sites. The methodology was then applied to a series of alkyl derivatives of cyclopentadienylcyclopentenones to provide a viable alternative synthetic route to 4‐alkylcyclopentenones and the versatility of the approach was demonstrated by the successful cycloreversion of N‐cyclohexyl‐2‐azanorborn‐5‐ene.  相似文献

A new trifluoromethylated bis(ether amine) monomer, 9,9‐bis[4‐(4‐amino‐2‐trifluoromethylphenoxy)phenyl]xanthene (BATFPX), was prepared through the nucleophilic aromatic substitution reaction of 2‐chloro‐5‐nitrobenzotrifluoride and 9,9‐bis(4‐hydroxyphenyl)xanthene in the presence of potassium carbonate, followed by catalytic reduction with hydrazine and Pd/C in ethanol. A series of novel fluorinated polyimides were synthesized from BATFPX with various commercially available aromatic tetracarboxylic dianhydrides by one‐step polycondensation in m‐cresol. The resulting polyimides were readily soluble in many organic solvents such as N,N‐dimethylacetamide and tetrahydrofuran, and afforded transparent, flexible and strong films with low moisture absorption (0.28–0.51%), low dielectric constant (2.85–3.26 at 1 MHz) and good optical transparency with UV‐visible absorption cut‐off wavelengths at 352–410 nm. All the polyimides were amorphous and exhibited high thermal stability, with glass transition temperatures of 282–330 °C, 5% weight loss temperatures above 520 °C in nitrogen or air and char yields higher than 55% at 800 °C in nitrogen. Also, these polyimides had good mechanical properties with tensile strengths of 93–118 MPa, elongations at break of 9–16% and initial moduli of 2.07–2.58 GPa. The reaction of 4‐(3‐hydroxynaphthalene)‐1,2,4‐triazolidine‐3,5‐dione ( 3HNTD ) with n‐propylisocyanate was performed at different molar ratios. The resulting monosubstituted urea and disubstituted urea‐urethane derivatives were obtained in high yields and were used as model compounds for polymerization reactions. 3HNTD as a monomer was used in the preparation of heterocyclic poly(urea‐urethane)s to produce photoactive polymers, by polycondensation with different diisocyanates in N,N‐dimethylacetamide (DMAc) solution. Chromophoric heterocyclic polymers containing naphthalene group, obtained in quantitative yields, possessed inherent viscosities in the range of 0.14–0.38 dL/g. The resulting poly(urea‐urethane)s is insoluble in most organic solvents, but easily soluble in polar solvents such as dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), DMAc, and N‐methylpyrrolidone (NMP). The polymers were characterized by IR, 1H‐NMR, elemental analysis, and TGA. Fluorimetric and UV–vis studies of the monomer as well as polymers were performed. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Crosslinked self‐healing polyurethane/urea based on a Diels–Alder reaction (C‐PMPU–DA) was synthesized from a multiple‐furan monomer and a commercial bismaleimide. The multiple‐furan monomer (PMPU–furan) was obtained from a functionalized prepolymer (polymeric MDI: PBA‐2000 = 2:1) by furfuryl amine. The structures of both the PMPU–furan and C‐PMPU–DA were characterized by attenuated total reflectance (ATR)–Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, and 1H‐NMR. The Diels–Alder bonds enabled C‐PMPU–DA thermal reversibility, which was investigated by ATR–FTIR spectroscopy, 1H‐NMR, gel–solution–gel experiments, and viscosity tests. Meanwhile, the self‐healing properties of C‐PMPU–DA were also investigated by the recovery of the mechanical properties. The results showed that C‐PMPU–DA exhibited good thermal reversibility and self‐healing properties. C‐PMPU–DA exhibited thermosetting properties at room temperature, although it exhibited thermoplastic properties at higher temperatures and may find applications in self‐healing materials, recyclable materials, or removable materials. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 4‐(4‐dimethylaminophenyl)‐1,2,4‐triazolidine‐3,5‐dione ( DAPTD ) was prepared from 4‐dimethylaminobenzoic acid in five steps. The compound DAPTD was reacted with excess acetyl chloride in N,N‐dimethylacetamide (DMAc) solution and gave 1,2‐bisacetyl‐4‐[4‐(dimethylaminophenyl)]‐1,2,4‐triazolidine‐3,5‐dione as a model compound. Solution polycondensation reactions of monomer with succinyl chloride (SucC), suberoyl chloride (SubC), and sebacoyl chloride (SebC) were performed under conventional solution polymerization techniques in the presence of triethylamine and pyridine as a catalyst in N‐methylpyrrolidone (NMP) and led to the formation of novel aliphatic polyamides. These novel polyamides have inherent viscosities in the range of 0.09–0.21 dL/g in N,N‐dimethylformamide (DMF) at 25°C. Polyimide‐g‐nylon 6 copolymers were prepared by the polymerization of phenyl 3,5‐diaminobenzoate with several diamines and dianhydrides with a one‐step method. The polyimides containing pendant ester moieties were then used as activators for the anionic polymerization of molten ε‐caprolactam. Nylon 6‐b‐polyimide‐b‐nylon 6 copolymers were prepared by the use of phenyl 4‐aminobenzoate as an end‐capping agent in the preparation of a series of imide oligomers. The oligomers were then used to activate the anionic polymerization of ε‐caprolactam. In both the graft and copolymer syntheses, the phenyl ester groups reacted quickly with caprolactam anions at 120°C to generate N‐acyllactam moieties, which activated the anionic polymerization. All the block copolymers had higher moduli and tensile strengths than those of nylon 6. However, their elongations at break were much lower. The graft copolymers based on 2,2′‐bis[4‐(3,4‐dicarboxyphenoxy)phenyl]propane dianhydride and 2,2′‐bis[4‐(4‐aminophenoxy)phenyl]propane displayed elongations comparable to that of nylon 6 and the highest moduli and tensile strengths of all the copolymers. The thermal stability, moisture resistance, and impact strength were dramatically increased by the incorporation of only 5 wt % polyimide into both the graft and block copolymers. The graft and block copolymers also exhibited improved melt processability. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 99: 300–308, 2006  相似文献

A novel ester diamine, 9‐(3,5‐diaminobenzoyloxy) fluorene, as a new monomer for preparation of polyimides was synthesized via two successive reactions. In the first step, reaction of 3,5‐dinitrobenzoylchloride with 9‐hydroxy fluorene in the presence of sodium hydroxide led to preparation of 9‐(3,5‐dinitrobenzoyloxy) fluorene. Second reaction was reduction of the nitro groups by tin (II) chloride and fuming hydrochloric acid to produce 9‐(3,5‐diaminobenzoyloxy) fluorene. The new diamine containing bulky fluorene group was characterized and polycondensed with different dianhydrides via two methods to produce polyimides. The new five‐membered and six‐membered ring polyimides were characterized and their properties including solubility behavior, inherent viscosity, thermal behavior and stability, and crystallinity were studied. They exhibited favorable balance of physical and thermal properties and their solubility were improved without sacrificing their thermal stability. Six‐membered rings polyimides showed higher thermal stability and lower solubility in comparison to related five‐membered ring polyimides. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of new polymerized monomer reactants (PMR) matrix resins of poly(pyrrolone‐benzimidazole)s containing a pyridine unit (PPBP) were synthesized by polycondensation of monoethyl ester of cis‐5‐norbornene‐endo‐2,3‐dicarboxylic acid, 2,6‐diphenyl ester pyridinedicarboxylic acid or 3,5‐diphenyl ester pyridinedicarboxylic acid, and diethyl ester of 4,4′‐oxydiphthalic acid with 3,3′‐diaminobenzidine in a mixing solution of anhydrous ethyl alcohol and N‐methylpyrrolidone under given temperature and pressure conditions. The resulting resin solutions showed good solubility in polar organic solvents and stability at room temperature. The corresponding PPBP matrix resin, molded powder, and molded plate were prepared by undergoing amidation, imidization, cyclization, and crosslinking reactions when the reaction temperature was increased from 80 to 350°C, successively; the crosslinking structure was formed by the reverse Diels–Alder reaction at 270–290°C under 50 MPa pressure (2.5–3.5 MPa displayed by the pressure meter). The chemical reactions and properties of the resulting PPBP were studied by means of FTIR, TGA, and DMA methods, and the results indicated that the kinds of PPBP materials retain excellent thermal stability and processability; when the initial decomposition temperature was above 620°C the Tg was at 413.5°C for 3,5‐PPBP‐20 molded plate. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel anthraquinone‐containing bis(ether amine) monomer, 2,6‐bis(4‐aminophenoxy)anthraquinone, was synthesized from readily available reagents. A series of novel aromatic polyimides were prepared from the newly synthesized diamine monomer with various aromatic tetracarboxylic dianhydrides. The intermediate poly(amic acid)s had inherent viscosities of 0.67–1.12 dL g?1, and those derived from less stiff dianhydrides could be solution‐cast and thermally cyclodehydrated into flexible and tough polyimide films. The polyimides exhibited glass transition temperatures between 270 and 297 °C, and they were fairly stable up to a temperature of 500 °C in air or nitrogen. The electrochemical and electrochromic properties of one of the polyimides were investigated. The polymer could undergo two reversible steps of electrochemical reduction, with a color change from a colorless neutral state to pink and rose‐red reduced states. © 2012 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献
