It addresses an important research area that is gaining increased recognition from researchers in speech and language processing as a rich and fulfilling area on which to focus their work, and by researchers in assistive technology as the means to dramatically improve communication technologies for individuals with disabilities. Optimality is one of fundamental pursuits of control engineers in control system design practice. Optimal control is never a new issue in control theory, however, it still attracts much attention in the research field of control theory, especially in control technology development, due to the difficulty in analytical optimal control law synthesis or numerical computing load in implementation. Meanwhile, in the past decades, electronization of automotive powertrain control motivated on-board optimal control algorithm that targets high combustion efficiency and emission performance since complicated real-time control algorithm is enabled by the progress of ECU technology. Applications and services for pervasive computing have been dramatically grown and have contributed extensively to our daily experiences in recent years. Smart systems, devices, and spaces are proactive for ubiquitous and pervasive computing. Smart information technology (IT) is also an outcome of the state of the art and novel mobile and ubiquitous computing technologies that include highly capable handheld device, pervasive and personal device, etc. This special issue will be a trigger for further related research and technology improvements in pervasive and ubiquitous computing using smart devices and services. This special issue called for original papers describing the latest developments, trends, and solutions of smart devices and spaces for pervasive computing including real-time operating systems (OS), tiny OS and middleware supports, mobile system performance, trustworthy Internet and communications, agents and mobile and pervasive services, among others. In particular, this special issue focuses on a remote control and media-sharing system, flash storage-based smart system, heterogeneous mobile OS, and prediction and auto-execution system for pervasive computing.  相似文献

The six papers in this special issue of Computers and Education honoring Professor David H. Jonassen are diverse in nature. They also reflect differing interpretations of the implications of Jonassen's work for research and development focused on instructional models and the factors influencing instruction as well as the directions for future research on learning technologies. Nonetheless, the papers all acknowledge the enormous impact Jonassen has had on generations of educational technology researchers as well as the growing influence his work is having on the teaching and learning practices of teachers and trainers across all sectors of education and training.  相似文献

Many see emerging technologies as a solution vector for the global challenges of the twenty‐first century. Today's emerging technologies include: computational sciences; nanotechnology; micro‐electro‐mechanical systems (MEMS); bio‐fuels; mobile technologies and a host of others. Yet an adequate understanding of their commercial, policy, environmental, ethical and societal implications lags far behind the development of their science and technology. The authors in this issue discuss the challenges presented by the commercial considerations of emerging technologies. If emerging technologies are critical to solving the largest problems facing the world, then better techniques are needed: for their management, to create policy and educate professionals to commercialize and govern them. This special issue presents the work of a number of researchers that helps to fill this gap. Broadly stated, social computing takes a computational approach to the study and modeling of social interactions and communications. It also encompasses the development of technologies supporting these interactions. In recent years, we've seen social computing impact numerous information and communications technology (ICT) fields. It's attracted significant interest from not only researchers in the computing and social sciences but also software and online game vendors, Web entrepreneurs, political analysts, and digital-government practitioners, among others. This special issue samples the state of the art social-computing research from several perspectives: the overall paradigm of social-computing research; technological support for social-computing applications; cognitive modeling and architecture of agents and agent societies; and social-computing applications in areas such as terrorist network analysis, competitive business strategies, and agent behavior in financial markets. The rapid development and increasing availability of various location acquisition technologies provide geospatial studies with both opportunities and challenges. These opportunities and challenges are discussed in this paper focusing on the following three aspects: the massive acquisition of location data and data quality, the analysis of massive location data and pattern discovery, and privacy protection for massive location data. This paper examines the current status of and the potential opportunities for geospatial research in these three areas and notes the major challenges. The technologies of Korean user programs are not enough to convert address convert information, which is collected via a port redirection server, to user traffic. Generally traffic redirection technology is a special technology for I/O traffic through a network device. The L4 switch needs various additional costs and devices to achieve this special purpose. To solve this problem, there is a need for a central control and monitoring by centralizing traffic at one position regardless of network structure. It is necessary to understand the redirection function of the switch at the network layer. Therefore, this study offers development of the traffic central control system through protocol redirection of the client-side.  相似文献

Workflow management systems, a relatively recent technology, are designed to make work more efficient, integrate heterogeneous application systems, and support interorganizational processes in electronic commerce applications. In this paper, we introduce the field of workflow automation, the subject of this special issue of Information Systems Frontiers. In the first part of the paper, we provide basic definitions and frameworks to aid understanding of workflow management technologies. In recent years, great progress has been made in the development of computer-based technologies that support the manufacturing industries. Those concerned with advanced manufacturing technology (AMT) are becoming increasingly aware of the fundamental importance of human organisational issues for the successful development, implementation, operation and maintenance of AMT. Social commerce has quickly emerged as a new area of inquiry for both practitioners and researchers, suggesting the potential impacts of social media and social networking technologies and services in shaping commercial channels on and off the Internet. This essay starts by providing a brief overview of social commerce research and practice in light of the wide attention it has drawn in the industry. Then, we propose a research framework with an integrated view of social commerce that consists of four key components: business, technology, people, and information. The framework helps us understand the development of social commerce research and practice to date. Subsequently, we report some preliminary findings from a bibliometric study of academic and industry publications in social commerce to reveal recent trends and research topics, as well as some verification of the research framework. Finally, we discuss five articles in this special issue and categorize them in terms of the proposed social commerce research framework.  相似文献

This special issue discusses Dutch research on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education. In this introduction, four broad research lines are distinguished: Policy-oriented research, research on learning technologies, research on computer-based instructional design tools, and research on the pedagogical use of ICT. The focus of this special issue is on the last type of research. The main research questions, findings and conclusions of the six contributions are discussed. It is concluded that the most important directions for future research deal with the added value of ICT for information problem solving in resource-based learning, for collaboration using external representations and tools that provoke critical discussion and reflection, and for simulation in learning environments for competence based learning and discovery learning.  相似文献
