Kerr-lens mode-locked Cr:LiSrAlF/sub 6/ lasers are demonstrated with various prism pairs based on a recalculation of the condition for compensating the intracavity dispersion. The minimum pulse duration is 9.9 fs, which is the limit for ordinary nonchirped dielectric mirrors. To develop an efficient diode-pumped Kerr-lens mode-locked Cr:LiSAF laser, diode-pumping geometry is also discussed.  相似文献

We present a theoretical model proving that up-conversion and thermal quenching of fluorescence strongly limit small-signal gain in a CW pumped Cr:LiSAF laser. We have a good agreement with experimental measurements of small-signal gain obtained with a new simple method. We have then optimized the gain in a Cr:LiSAF laser pumped by two 400-mW red diodes. The highest gain, 1.11 at 600 mW of absorbed pump power, is obtained if the pump spot is circularized inside the crystal and if the Cr:LiSAF is pumped on both sides. In Q-switched operation, this laser produces tunable pulses (up to 6.5 μJ at 10 kHz) between 800 and 900 nm  相似文献

The performance of a flash-lamp pumped Cr3+: LiSrAlF 6 multi-bounce slab laser is reported. The slab was conductively-cooled by a sapphire window which also transmitted the pump light. We discuss the design of a Cr:LiSAF laser system capable of generating ultrashort, 90-fs Fourier-transform limited pulses with a peak power of 8 TW. Using chirped pulse amplification and flashlamp-pumped Cr:LiSAF amplifiers this system incorporates a regenerative amplifier and three additional double-pass amplifiers with increasing aperture up to 25 mm. The temporal performance as well as the spatial beam quality are discussed in detail. We discuss extension of this system to the Petawatt power level  相似文献

A monolithic mode-locked semiconductor laser with the capability of tuning its repetition rate while passively mode-locked through solid-state means is reported. Over 200 MHz of tuning is demonstrated with variations in the applied dc bias. Dynamic tuning is demonstrated by applying an ac signal to one section showing a tuning bandwidth over a hundred megahertz. Pulse parameters and timing jitter are also presented for passive and hybrid mode-locking operation.  相似文献

Reports the observation of a strong dependence of the emission spectrum (centre wavelength and linewidth) of Nd:silica fibre lasers on pump wavelength. In a particular fibre, careful selection of the pump wavelength has led to the operation of a broadband fibre laser at 1060 nm with 19 nm FWHM bandwidth. When pumped with a 30 mW diode laser, it exhibits a 1 mW threshold, a 2.5 mW output, and an intrinsic average wavelength temperature stability of about 10 p.p.m./°C  相似文献

A compact diode-pumped Tm:YAG laser capable of generating greater than 100 W of CW power at 2 μm has been demonstrated. A scalable diode end-pumping architecture is used in which 805-nm radiation, coupled to the wing of the Tm3+3H6-3H 4 absorption feature, is delivered to the end of the laser rod via a lens duct. To facilitate thermal management, undoped YAG end caps are diffusion bonded to the central doped portion of the laser rod. For 2% and 4% Tm-doped rods of the same length, the lower doping level results in higher power, indicating that cross relaxation is still efficient while offering lower thermal stress and reduced absorption at the laser wavelength. Output powers for various output coupler reflectivities are compared to the predictions of a quasi-three-level model. Thermal lensing, cavity stability, and stress-induced birefringence measurements are described. The beam quality was analyzed with the 2% Tm-doped rod and a flat output coupler, yielding M2 values of 14-23  相似文献

A diode-pumped Nd:YAG laser in which the gain element is fabricated in the shape of an isosceles right-angle prism is described. An orthogonal face forms the highly reflective end of the resonator, while the hypotenuse serves as an internal fold mirror. Scaling was demonstrated by pumping the gain element along three axes simultaneously. The maximum power obtained was 1.3 W at 1.06 μm and 128 mW at 532 nm. 再生放大器作为一种具有极高增益的前置放大器,在获取窄脉宽、高峰值功率激光过程中具有重要作用。本文对再生放大器的传统光路进行了改进,通过光路设计与精确时间控制,将脉冲单选功能集成到再生放大过程中,进行了腔内单选再生放大器技术研究,实验证明这种改进是完全可行的。  相似文献

结合Nd:YVO4的偏振吸收和LD(激光二极管)的偏振性,设计了高效的自聚焦透镜耦合系统、利用激光晶体和倍频晶体构成激光谐振腔、KTP晶体的II类相位匹配,计算并分析了在存在热透镜情况下平-平固体激光腔的特性,研制出高效紧凑结构的全固态绿光激光器。激光器利用TEC精确控制激光晶体和KTP晶体的温度,当泵浦功率为4.8 W时,532nm输出功率为1.4 W,光-光转换效率达到30%,24小时不稳定性±2%。  相似文献

We report on the power scaling of a flashlamp-pumped Cr:LiSrAlF/sub 6/ thin-slab zig-zag laser operating at repetition rates up to 5 Hz. Average output power of 44 W with pulse energies of 8.8 J was achieved operating with a stable cavity. Excellent medium control was also obtained during this operation. Also demonstrated at 5 Hz was operation at energies /spl sim/ 0.5 J in Q-switched mode with unstable optics and bandwidth control, beam quality < 1.5 XDL, bandwidth /spl sim/ 1 GHz, and root-mean-square beam jitter of less than half of a diffraction limited far-field spot radius.  相似文献
