The application of boundary integral equations (BIE's) for the analysis of linear induction devices with rotational symmetry is considered. One-dimensional Fredholm integral equations are derived for the tangential field components at the boundary of a conducting medium with constant scalar conductivity and permeability excited by a time-harmonic azimuthal current source. The important special case of a short right circular conducting cylinder (magnetic or nonmagnetic) coaxial with one or more short coils is treated in detail. The explicit form of the kernels and the numerical solution technique are presented. Numerical results are presented for typical induction heating applications where the load length as well as the coil length are finite. Results are also presented for the magnetostatic problem of finding the demagnetization factors for short magnetic rods. In each case the results are compared with published results and the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed approach are demonstrated.  相似文献

It is now well established that two-dimensional structures with dielectric variations based on quasicrystalline tilings are able to support photonic band gaps. Here, we have investigated the properties of the localized defect modes with frequencies within the photonic band gap for a certain kind of two-dimensional octagonal photonic quasicrystal with lattice vacancies breaking the quasi-periodic symmetry. The eigenfrequencies of such localized modes are given as a function of filling fractions for four distinct microcavity designs, and the electromagnetic field profiles of the localized modes are explored. The calculations of the eigenfrequencies and electromagnetic field profiles were performed using a supercell approximation in a plane wave method.  相似文献

We present the approximate polynomial expression for an ellipsoid with rotational symmetry about its major axis, which is on the y-z plane and at angle theta with respect to the z axis. We present a direct proof of a theorem linking the order of moment isotropy and degree of discrete rotational symmetry for a two-dimensional set of lattice vectors. Subject of the investigation are the implications of a special nonlinear hardening law on the continuity of the slopes of stresses and strains at the elastic-plastic border in plane problems with rotational symmetry. The hardening law under consideration is a nonlinear generalization of linear hardening frequently used by experimenters. The general results are illustrated by means of the cylindrical vessel under internal pressure and the shrink fit.  相似文献

Crystalline bacterial cell surface layers (S-layers) composed of identical protein units have been used as binding templates for well-organized arrangements of nanoparticles. Isolated S-layer proteins were recrystallized into monomolecular arrays on solid substrates (such as silicon wafers and SiO2-coated grids) and in suspension forming so-called self-assembly products. These S-layer assemblies were studied by atomic force microscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The orientation of the S-layer lattice, exhibiting anisotropic surface properties, on the solid surface and on the self-assembly products, was compared with the orientation on the bacterial cell. On both bacterial cells and SiO2 surfaces the outer face of the S-layer protein was exposed. On the self-assembly products occasionally the inner face was also visible. Metal- and semiconductor nanoparticles 2 to 10 nm in mean diameter were covalently or electrostatically bound to the solid-supported S-layers and self-assembly products. TEM studies reveal that upon activation of carboxyl groups in the S-layer lattice with 1-ethyl-3,3'(dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide (EDC), a close-packed monolayer of 4-nm amino-functionalized CdSe nanoparticles could be covalently established on the S-layer lattice. Because of electrostatic interactions, anionic citrate-stabilized Au nanoparticles (5 nm in diameter) formed a superlattice at those sites where the inner face of the S-layer lattice was exposed. In contrast, cationic semiconductor nanoparticles (such as amino-functionalized CdSe particles) formed arrays on the outer face of the solid-supported S-layer lattices.  相似文献

Building on earlier work on the nodal aberration theory of third-order aberrations and a subset of fifth-order terms, this paper presents the multinodal field dependence of the family of aberrations describing the shape of the medial focal surface (the focal surface upon which the minimum RMS wavefront error is measured) and the astigmatic aberrations with respect to this surface through the fifth order. Specifically, the multinodal field dependence for W(420M) and W??? (the field-quartic medial surface and field-quartic astigmatism) are derived and presented as well as their influence on the magnitude and nodal field dependence of the companion lower-order terms, W(220M) and W???. This paper provides the first derivations of field-quartic aberrations presented by the author in the refereed literature.  相似文献

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate for the first time that a linearly polarized beam is focused to an asymmetric spot when using a high-numerical aperture focusing system. This asymmetry was predicted by Richards and Wolf in 1959 and can only be measured when a polarization-insensitive sensor is placed in the focal region. We used a specially modified photodiode in a knife-edge-type set-up to obtain highly resolved images of the total electric energy density distribution at the focus. The results are in good agreement with the predictions of a vectorial focusing theory.  相似文献

Residual life estimation is essential for reliability engineering. Traditional methods may experience difficulties in estimating the residual life of products with high reliability, long life, and small sample. The Bayes model provides a feasible solution and can be a useful tool for fusing multisource information. In this study, a Bayes model is proposed to estimate the residual life of products by fusing expert knowledge, degradation data, and lifetime data. The linear Wiener process is used to model degradation data, whereas lifetime data are described via the inverse Gaussian distribution. Therefore, the joint maximum likelihood (ML) function can be obtained by combining lifetime and degradation data. Expert knowledge is used according to the maximum entropy method to determine the prior distributions of parameters, thereby making this work different from existing studies that use non-informative prior. The discussion and analysis of different types of expert knowledge also distinguish our research from others. Expert knowledge can be classified into three categories according to practical engineering. Methods for determining prior distribution by using the aforementioned three types of data are presented. The Markov chain Monte Carlo is applied to obtain samples of the parameters and to estimate the residual life of products due to the complexity of the joint ML function and the posterior distribution of parameters. Finally, a numerical example is presented. The effectiveness and practicability of the proposed method are validated by comparing it with residual life estimation that uses non-informative prior. Then, its accuracy and correctness are proven via simulation experiments.  相似文献

By using arrays of nanowires with intentionally broken symmetry, we were able to detect microwaves up to 110 GHz at room temperature. This is, to the best of our knowledge, the highest speed that has been demonstrated in different types of novel electronic nanostructures to date. Our experiments showed a rather stable detection sensitivity over a broad frequency range from 100 MHz to 110 GHz. The novel working principle enabled the nanowires to detect microwaves efficiently without a dc bias. In principle, the need for only one high-resolution lithography step and the planar architecture allow an arbitrary number of nanowires to be made by folding a linear array as many times as required over a large area, for example, a whole wafer. Our experiment on 18 parallel nanowires showed a sensitivity of approximately 75 mV dc output/mW of nominal input power of the 110 GHz signal, even though only about 0.4% of the rf power was effectively applied to the structure because of an impedance mismatch. Because this array of nanowires operates simultaneously, low detection noise was achieved, allowing us to detect -25 dBm 110 GHz microwaves at zero bias with a standard setup.  相似文献

Automated manufacturability assessment of a given design is a key requirement in realizing complete integration of design (CAD) and manufacturing (CAM). The paper deals with a system developed for automated manufacturability assessment by machining processes. The purpose of this system is to assist designers in their effort to come up with manufacturable parts economising in terms of cost and time. Unlike most of the work done in the past, which concentrates on assessment by primary machining processes such as turning and milling, the present work deals with grinding operation. The present system uses geometric reasoning to extract manufacturing specific information from a part model. It uses a knowledge base consisting of grinding process knowledge and control rules, which are activated by the designer. It also has a provision to account for company-specific manufacturing resources to come up with meaningful assessment for part manufacturability. The use of the proposed system is demonstrated for the assessment of axisymmetric parts to be manufactured by cylindrical and internal grinding processes.  相似文献

文章提出了一种融合舰船辐射噪声时频域特征的识别方法,将舰船辐射噪声的线谱特征和线性预测倒谱特征作为输入,分别利用反向传播(Back Propagation,BP)神经网络进行训练、降维及初步判别,并采用加权投票方式,引入置信度算法和拒判机制实现决策级融合识别。实验结果表明,对比基于舰船单一特征的识别方法,利用舰船辐射噪声时频域特征的互补性进行融合识别,减小了单一识别方法误判对总识别率的影响,具有较强的鲁棒性,可有效提高对目标的识别率。  相似文献

Desorption electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (DESI-MS) has advantages for rapid sample analysis with little or no sample pretreatment, but performance for large biomolecules has not been demonstrated. In this study, liquid sample DESI, an extended version of DESI used for analysis of liquid samples, was shown to have capabilities for direct ionization of large noncovalent protein complexes (>45 kDa) and proteins (up to 150 kDa). Protein complex ions (e.g., superoxide dismutase, enolase, and hemoglobin) desorbed from solution by liquid sample DESI were measured intact, indicating the capability of DESI for preserving weak noncovalent interactions. Doping the DESI spray solvent with supercharging reagents resulted in protein complex ions having increased multiple charging without complex dissociation. Ion mobility measurements of model protein cytochrome c showed that the supercharging reagent favored the more compact conformation for the lower charged protein ions. Liquid sample DESI of hydrophobic peptide gramicidin D suggests that the ionization mechanism involves a droplet pick-up mixing process. Measurement of liquid samples significantly extends the mass range of DESI-MS, allowing the analysis of high-mass proteins such as 150 kDa immunoglobulin G (IgG) and thus represents the largest protein successfully ionized by DESI to date.  相似文献

采用两步走的方法实现了钛合金的表面改性,首先在钛合金表面进行激光熔覆CaO或CaCO3,得到冶金结合的复合涂层后,通过在磷酸等含磷酸根的溶液中浸泡CaOCa使涂层中的转变为磷酸盐,从而使钛合金表面具有生物活性。XRD和SEM分析表明,得到了活性涂层,涂层与基体的结合良好。  相似文献
