In this paper, an optimization-based control algorithm for the compensation of steady-state load under distorted supply voltages is presented. For balanced and sinusoidal supply voltages, load compensation using shunt active filter produces perfect harmonic cancellation (PHC) and unity power factor (UPF) source currents. However, when the supply voltages are distorted, compensation for PHC will not provide UPF, as the harmonics in the supply voltages are not utilized for delivering the average power. In the same way, to achieve UPF source currents, the compensated source currents should have the same harmonics, unbalance, shape, and be in phase with the respective supply voltages, thereby violating the perfect harmonic cancellation objective. Hence, there should be an optimal operation between these two important compensation characteristics. The optimization-based control algorithm presented in this paper gives the best power factor while satisfying the constraints such as total harmonic distortion limits and average power balance of source currents. It is also flexible to adopt different compensation characteristics based upon the supply voltage conditions. Matlab and its optimization toolbox are used for simulation studies and solving the nonlinear optimization problem, respectively. The algorithm is validated by using a prototype of digital signal processor (TMS320F2812PGFA)-based shunt active power filter. Detailed experimental results are presented.  相似文献

This paper proposes a novel and simple direct power control of three-phase pulsewidth-modulated (PWM) rectifiers with constant switching frequency using space-vector modulation (DPC-SVM). The active and reactive powers are used as the pulse width modulated (PWM) control variables instead of the three-phase line currents being used. Moreover, line voltage sensors are replaced by a virtual flux estimator. The theoretical principle of this method is discussed. The steady-state and dynamic results of DPC-SVM that illustrate the operation and performance of the proposed system are presented. It is shown that DPC-SVM exhibits several features, such as a simple algorithm, good dynamic response, constant switching frequency, and particularly it provides sinusoidal line current when supply voltage is not ideal. Results have proven excellent performance and verify the validity of the proposed system.  相似文献

This paper proposes a novel mains voltage proportional input current control concept eliminating the multiplication of the output voltage controller output and the mains ac phase voltages for the derivation of mains phase current reference values of a three-phase/level/switch pulsewidth-modulated (VIENNA) rectifier system. Furthermore, the concept features low input current ripple amplitude as, e.g., achieved for space-vector modulation, a low amplitude of the third harmonic of the current flowing into the output voltage center point, and a wide range of modulation. The practical realization of the analog control concept as well as experimental results for application with a 5-kW prototype of the pulsewidth-modulated rectifier are presented. Furthermore, a control scheme which relies only on the absolute values of the input phase currents and a modified control scheme which does not require information about the mains phase voltages are presented.  相似文献

This paper deals with an implementation of a new control algorithm for a three-phase shunt active filter to regulate load terminal voltage, eliminate harmonics, correct supply power-factor, and balance the nonlinear unbalanced loads. A three-phase insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) based current controlled voltage source inverter (CC-VSI) with a DC bus capacitor is used as an active filter (AF). The control algorithm of the AF uses two closed loop PI controllers. The DC bus voltage of the AF and three-phase supply voltages are used as feedback signals in the PI controllers. The control algorithm of the AF provides three-phase reference supply currents. A carrier wave pulse width modulation (PWM) current controller is employed over the reference and sensed supply currents to generate gating pulses of IGBTs of the AF. Test results are presented and discussed to demonstrate the voltage regulation, harmonic elimination, power-factor correction and load balancing capabilities of the AF system  相似文献

A unidirectional three-phase switch-mode rectifier that delivers sinusoidal input currents in phase with the corresponding input phase voltages is proposed and analyzed in this paper. In the proposed topology, three AC switches are placed before the bridge rectifier and, respectively, across two power lines. A simple control scheme combing space-vector modulation and hysteresis current control is presented. Sinusoidal input line currents are observed in experimental results  相似文献

A novel three-level pulsewidth modulation (PWM) rectifier/inverter is proposed: this single-phase three-level rectifier with power factor correction and current harmonic reduction is proposed to improve power quality. A three-phase three-level neutral point clamped (NPC) inverter is adopted to reduce the harmonic content of the inverter output voltages and currents. In the adopted rectifier, a switching mode rectifier with two AC power switches is adopted to draw a sinusoidal line current in phase with mains voltage. The switching functions of the power switches are based on a look-up table. To achieve a balanced DC-link capacitor voltage, a capacitor voltage compensator is employed. In the NPC inverter, the three-level PWM techniques based on the sine-triangle PWM and space vector modulation are used to reduce the voltage harmonics and to drive an induction motor. The advantages of the adopted th-ree-level rectifier/inverter are (1) the blocking voltage of power devices (T1, T2, Sa1-Sc4) is clamped to half of the DC-link voltage, (2) low conduction loss with low conduction resistance due to low voltage stress, (3) low electromagnetic interference, and (4) low voltage harmonics in the inverter output. Based on the proposed control strategy, the rectifier can draw a high power factor line current and achieve two balance capacitor voltages. The current harmonics generated from the adopted rectifier can meet the international requirements. Finally, the proposed control algorithm is illustrated through experimental results based on the laboratory prototype.  相似文献

A new control scheme for a single-phase bridge rectifier with three-level pulsewidth modulation is proposed to achieve high power factor and low current distortion. The main circuit consists of a diode-bridge rectifier, a boost inductor, two AC power switches, and two capacitors. According to the proposed control scheme based on a voltage comparator and hysteresis current control technique, the output capacitor voltages are balanced and the line current will follow the supply current command. The supply current command is derived from a DC-link voltage regulator and an output power estimator. The major advantage of using a three-level rectifier is that the blocking voltage of each AC power device is clamping to half of the DC-link voltage and the generated harmonics of the three-level rectifier are less than those of the conventional two-level rectifier. There are five voltage levels (0, ±VDC/2, ±VDC) on the AC side of the diode rectifier. The high power factor and low harmonic currents at the input of the rectifier are verified by software simulations and experimental tests  相似文献

Based on an analysis of basic realization possibilities, the structure of the power circuit of a new single-stage three-phase boost-type pulsewidth modulated (PWM) rectifier system (VIENNA Rectifier II) is developed. This system has continuous sinusoidal time behavior of the input currents and high-frequency isolation of the output voltage, which is controlled in a highly dynamic manner. As compared to a conventional two-stage realization, this system has substantially lower complexity and allows the realization of several isolated output circuits with minimum effort. The basic function of the new PWM rectifier system is described based on the conduction states occurring within a pulse period. Furthermore, a straightforward space- vector-oriented method for the system control is proposed which guarantees a symmetric magnetization of the transformer. Also, it makes possible a sinusoidal control of the mains phase currents in phase with the associated phase voltages. By digital simulation, the theoretical considerations are verified and the stresses on the power semiconductors of the new converter system are determined. Finally, results of an experimental analysis of a 2.5-kW laboratory prototype of the system are given, and the direct startup and the short-circuit protection of the converter are discussed. Also, the advantages and disadvantages of the new converter system are compiled in the form of an overview  相似文献

The paper presents the implementation of a DSP-based controller for three-phase, space-vector modulated converters. The implementation is illustrated for the control of a 2 kW, ZVS matrix power converter-based three-phase PWM rectifier. The controller features very high data processing speed (converter switching frequency of 100 kHz), and provides high-quality, low-distortion power converter input currents and output voltages. The controller can be implemented using only a few standard integrated circuits, providing high reliability and low cost  相似文献

Like most power converter topologies, multilevel inverters are controlled with modulation techniques that are conceptually based on nonlinear waveform synthesis assuming constant dc-link voltages. However, real applications have load and supply dependent dc-links that usually present important low frequency ripple, which is also modulated and transmitted to the load, generating undesirable low frequency voltage and current distortion. This paper introduces a simple but effective dc-link ripple feedforward strategy into traditional carrier-based modulation techniques. The dc-link ripples are measured and used to modify the carriers or the reference directly in the modulation stage. Simulation and experimental results show the accuracy of the proposed method, eliminating low order harmonics in the load current.  相似文献

In this paper, the direct modulation strategy of a three-level inverter with self stabilization of the dc link voltage is extended to a five-level inverter. Therefore, a new modeling and control strategy of a five-level three-phase diode-clamped inverter (DCI) is presented. The obtained modeling shows that modulated multilevel voltages are obtained by combination of eight different three-level functions, which are called modulation functions. Therefore, a space-vector scheme without using a Park transform is explained. Based on this algorithm, the location of the reference voltage vector can be easily determined. Then, the voltage vectors are selected to generate corresponding levels and simultaneously their durations are calculated. More over, the redundancies of different switch configurations for the generation of intermediate voltages are used to limit the deviation of capacitor voltages. Experimental results are given to illustrate the proposed control strategy of the three-phase three-level diode clamped inverter. Then, obtained results for a five-level three-phase DCI with the extended version of the control strategy are presented to show the good performances of the proposed balancing modulation.  相似文献

A robust sliding-mode controller, suitable for the output voltage control of voltage-sourced unity-power-factor three-phase pulsewidth modulation (PWM) rectifiers, presenting no steady-state errors, is described. This “just-in-time” switching controller controls the output voltage and the line input currents, while providing bidirectional power flow, near-unity-power-factor operation, low harmonic content, fast dynamic response of the output voltage, and minimum switching frequency due to a new α-β space-vector current regulator. The voltage controller performance is compared with the behavior of the conventional proportional integral output voltage control, aided by PWM current-mode modulators, and with the nonrobust fast and slow manifold sliding-mode approach. The comparison shows that the proposed controller confers faster dynamics and does not present steady-state errors. Test results confirm that the performance of the controller is independent of system parameters and load and exceeds the performance of existing hysteretic current-mode control systems  相似文献

In three-level neutral-point-clamped voltage-source inverters, proper modulation allows the average voltages of the DC-link capacitors to be kept at one-half the level of the DC-link voltage. However, in some operating conditions, a low-frequency ripple appears in the neutral-point potential and its frequency is three times that of the output voltages. As a result, the output voltages also have low-frequency distortion, which includes even and odd multiples of the fundamental. In this paper, a new space-vector pulsewidth-modulation strategy is presented to avoid that low-frequency output voltage distortion. This modulation method tries to balance the voltages of the capacitors by using only three vectors per modulation cycle. The duty ratios are directly calculated from the space-vector diagram, even when balance is not achieved. For all cases, the result is a balanced set of three AC output voltages. Some simulated and experimental results are given to validate the method.  相似文献

This paper presents a new space-vector modulation strategy suitable for a low-cost pulse-width-modulation (PWM) voltage-source (VS) inverter employing only four switches, four diodes, and a split-capacitor bank in the DC link. The work is motivated by the need for an efficient and flexible modulation method, which is optimized with respect to minimum machine-torque ripple. The modulation strategy is named space-vector modulation for four-switch inverter (SVMFSI), and it is realized by planning the switching patterns between four active voltage vectors on the basis of a desired flux trajectory for the stator-flux vector in the AC machine. The strategy is implemented in a single 8-bit microcontroller as a double-sided modulation strategy. Simulations of the machine-torque ripple are performed at a switching frequency of 4 kHz and indicate a torque ripple of 14% at nominal load. Finally, selected results are verified experimentally on a 1.5-kVA prototype B4 inverter. The test results indicate high-quality output-voltage spectra with no low-order voltage harmonics and a harmonic-loss factor (HLF) of 1.12% at unity modulation index  相似文献

This paper presents a fuzzy logic implementation of space-vector pulse-width modulation (PWM) for three-phase power converters. The conventional space-vector PWM current regulator implementation is generally computationally complex. The fuzzy logic controller implementation relieves the processor of a number of computations, thereby accommodating a less expensive microprocessor. The AC-side rectifier voltages are used as fuzzy-state variables. The fuzzy logic control has two outputs: magnitude and angle of reference voltage. Both conventional space-vector PWM and the fuzzy logic controller are implemented to evaluate performance using a 16-b microcontroller (68HC16). Experimental results are provided for both controllers at the same operating point, where the power drawn by the load is about 3 kW. The fuzzy logic controller reduces the computational burden on the processor by about 30%  相似文献

In this paper, a low-frequency square-wave inverter with a series-connected pulsewidth modulation (PWM) inverter is investigated for high-power applications. The series compensators produce only the desired harmonic voltages to make the net output voltage sinusoidal with small PWM switching harmonics only. An open-loop control strategy for the series compensator is proposed in this paper. This strategy indirectly sets the compensator DC bus voltage to the desired level. No external DC source or active power at fundamental frequency is required to control this dc bus voltage. Different variations of this basic strategy are presented in this paper for medium-voltage applications. Theoretical analysis of this strategy is presented in this paper with simulation and experimental results.  相似文献

In this paper, the input current performance of matrix converters is analyzed, especially with reference to the operating conditions determined by unbalanced supply voltages. The space-vector modulation (SVM) technique is utilized to calculate the duty cycles of the active voltage vectors that must be applied, in each switching cycle period, in order to satisfy the input and output requirements. A detailed theoretical analysis of the input current harmonic content under unbalanced input voltage conditions is presented for two different current modulation strategies. On the basis of numerical simulations as well as measurements on a laboratory prototype setup, the strategies' performance are compared and the validity of the theoretical investigation confirmed. It is concluded that, when the input voltages are unbalanced to a significant extent, a dynamic input current modulation strategy has to be preferred, since a lower harmonic line current distortion will appear  相似文献

New techniques of harmonic reduction and voltage regulation in PWM inverters with fluctuating input voltage are described. A novel selective harmonic reduction technique is also developed for three-phase full-bridge inverters to reduce the number of switchings per output cycle. For keeping the fundamental load voltage at the present value and suppressing the generation of low-order harmonics when the input voltage fluctuates, the conventional sinusoidal reference of the triangulation method is replaced by a quasi-sinewave whose magnitude varies inversely with the input voltage to keep the product of the reference voltage and the input voltage sinusoidal. Harmonic analysis of the W-type modulation and M-type modulation is given to show that the load voltage spectra of the output waveforms generated with the proposed methods are insensitive to the source voltage fluctuation and load variation. Experimental results confirm the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

Modulation techniques for multilevel converters can create distorted output voltages and currents if the dc-link voltages are unbalanced. This situation can be avoided if the instantaneous dc voltage error is not taken into account in the modulation process. This paper proposes a feed-forward space vector modulation method for a single-phase multilevel cascade converter. Using this modulation technique, the modulated output voltage of the power converter always generates the reference determined by the controller, even in worst case voltage unbalance conditions. In addition, the possibility of optimizing the dc voltage ratio between the H-bridges of the power converter is introduced. Experimental results from a 5-kVA prototype are presented in order to validate the proposed modulation technique.   相似文献
