The microstructures and the microwave dielectric properties of the (1 − x)Mg4Nb2O9-xCaTiO3 ceramic system were investigated. In order to achieve a temperature-stable material, CaTiO3 (τf ∼ 800 ppm/°C) was chosen as a τf compensator and added to Mg4Nb2O9 (τf ∼ −70 ppm/°C) to form a two phase system. It was confirmed by the XRD and EDX analysis. By appropriately adjusting the x-value in the (1 − x)Mg4Nb2O9-xCaTiO3 ceramic system, near-zero τf value can be achieved. A new microwave dielectric material, 0.5Mg4Nb2O9-0.5CaTiO3 applicable in microwave devices is suggested and possesses the dielectric properties of a dielectric constant ?r ∼ 24.8, a Q × f value ∼82,000 GHz (measured at 9.1 GHz) and a τf value ∼−0.3 ppm/°C.  相似文献

We demonstrate the correlation between sintering behavior and microstructural observations in low-temperature sintered, LaNbO4 microwave ceramics. Small CuO additions to LaNbO4 significantly lowered the sintering temperature from 1250 to 950 °C. To elucidate the sintering mechanism, the internal microstructure of the sample manipulated by a focused ion beam (FIB) was investigated using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). LaNbO4 with 3 wt% CuO sintered at 950 °C for 2 h possessed the following excellent microwave dielectric properties: a quality factor (Qxf) of 49,000 GHz, relative dielectric constant (?r) of 19.5, and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τf) of 1 ppm/°C. The ferroelastic phase transformation was also investigated using in situ X-ray diffraction (XRD) to explain the variation of τf in low-temperature sintered LaNbO4 as a function of CuO content.  相似文献

The suitable choice of a substrate material is one of the aims to be fulfilled in high speed microwave technology. LaMgAl11O19 oxide ceramic material, which belongs to the magnetoplumbite family, has been reported earlier as a potential candidate for such applications. This material has been prepared by conventional solid-state ceramic route. The structure has been studied by X-ray diffraction and characterized at microwave frequencies. The effect of dopant and glass addition on the microwave dielectric properties of this material has also been investigated. LaMgAl11O19 has relatively low dielectric constant (εr=14), low dielectric loss or high quality factor (Qu×f>28,000 GHz at 7 GHz) and small temperature variation of resonant frequency (τf=−12 ppm/°C) at room temperature (300 K). These properties make LaMgAl11O19 as a good substrate material and as a dielectric resonator to be used in microwave devices operating at relatively high frequencies.  相似文献

Two new cation-deficient hexagonal perovskites Ba4LaMNb3O15 (M = Ti, Sn) ceramics were prepared by high temperature solid-state reaction route. The phase and structure of the ceramics were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The microwave dielectric properties of the ceramics were studied using a network analyzer. The Ba4LaTiNb3O15 has high dielectric constant of 52, high quality factors (Q) 3500 (at 4.472 GHz), and temperature variation of resonant frequency (τf) +93 ppm °C−1 at room temperature; Ba4LaSnNb3O15 has dielectric constant of 39 with high Q value of 2510 (at 5.924 GHz), and τf −29 ppm °C−1.  相似文献

Ba4MgTi11O27 microwave dielectric ceramic was investigated using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and dielectric measurement. The pure Ba4MgTi11O27 ceramic shows a high sintering temperature (∼1275 °C) and good microwave dielectric properties as Q × f of 19,630 GHz, ?r of 36.1, τf of 14.6 ppm/°C. It was found that the addition of BaCu(B2O5) (BCB) can effectively lower the sintering temperature from 1275 to 925 °C, and does not induce much degradation of the microwave dielectric properties. The BCB-doped Ba4MgTi11O27 ceramics can be compatible with Ag electrode, which makes it a promising ceramic for LTCC technology application.  相似文献

Using Ca(NO3)2·4H2O, Mg(NO3)2·6H2O, Si(OC2H5)4, LiNO3 and Bi(NO3)3·5H2O as raw materials, CaO-MgO-SiO2 submicron powders were prepared at low temperature by sol-gel method. The crystallization temperature was decreased enormously by the introduction of Li-Bi liquid phase sintering aids into Ca-Mg-Si sol, and the powders with average particle sizes of 80-100 nm and 200-400 nm were obtained at the calcining temperature of 750 °C and 800 °C, respectively. The sintering characteristic and dielectric properties of powders calcined at 750 °C with different content of powders calcined at 800 °C were studied. When the content of powders calcined at 800 °C was 10 wt%, the dielectric ceramic sintered at 890 °C had compact structure, and possessed excellent microwave dielectric properties: ?r = 7.16, Q × f = 25630 GHz, τf = −69.26 ppm/°C.  相似文献

The giant dielectric constant material CaCu3Ti4O12 (CCTO) has been synthesized by sol-gel method, for the first time, using nitrate and alkoxide precursor. The electrical properties of CCTO ceramics, showing an enormously large dielectric constant ? ∼ 60,000 (100 Hz at RT), were investigated in the temperature range from 298 to 358 K at 0, 5, 10, 20, and 40 V dc. The phases, microstructures, and impedance properties of final samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and precision impedance analyzer. The dielectric permittivity of CCTO synthesized by sol-gel method is at least three times of magnitude larger than that synthesized by other low-temperature method and solid-state reaction method. Furthermore, the results support the internal barrier layer capacitor (IBLC) model of Schottky barriers at grain boundaries between semiconducting grains.  相似文献

The 0.83ZnAl2O4-0.17TiO2 (ZAT) ceramics were synthesized by solid state ceramic route. The effect of 27B2O3-35Bi2O3-6SiO2-32ZnO (BBSZ) glass on the microwave dielectric properties of ZAT was investigated. The crystal structure and the microstructure of the ceramic-glass composites were studied by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopic techniques. The low frequency dielectric loss was measured at 1 MHz. The dielectric properties of the sintered samples were measured in the microwave frequency range by the resonance method. Addition of 0.2 wt% of BBSZ improved the dielectric properties with quality factor (Qu × f) > 120,000 GHz, temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τf) = −7.3 ppm/°C and dielectric constant (?r) = 11.7. Addition of 10 wt% of BBSZ lowered the sintering temperature to about 950 °C with Qu × f > 10,000 GHz, ?r = 10 and τf = −23 ppm/°C. The reactivity of 10 wt% BBSZ added ZAT with silver was also studied. The results show that ZAT doped with suitable amount of BBSZ glass is a possible material for low-temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) application.  相似文献

The microstructural evolution and dielectric properties of CaCu3−xTi4O12−x (3 − x = 2.8-3.05) ceramics were investigated. Normal grain growth behavior was observed at Cu/Ca ≤ 2.9, while abnormal grain growth was observed at Cu/Ca ≥ 2.95. A CuO-rich intergranular liquid phase at Cu/Ca ≥ 2.95 and angular grain morphology were the main reasons for abnormal grain growth. However, the abundant intergranular liquid at Cu/Ca = 3.05 significantly affected the relative dielectric permittivity and dielectric loss. The CuO composition is the key parameter that determines the microstructure and dielectric properties of CCTO ceramics.  相似文献

The effects of B2O3 addition, as a sintering agent, on the sintering behavior, microstructure and microwave dielectric properties of the 11Li2O-3Nb2O5-12TiO2 (LNT) ceramics have been investigated. With the low-level doping of B2O3 (≤2 wt.%), the sintering temperature of the LNT ceramic could be effectively reduced to 900 °C. The B2O3-doped LNT ceramics are also composed of Li2TiO3ss and “M-phase” phases. No other phase could be observed in the 0.5-2 wt.% B2O3-doped ceramics sintered at 840-920 °C. The addition of B2O3 induced no obvious degradation in the microwave dielectric properties but increased the τf values. Typically, the 0.5 wt.% B2O3-doped ceramics sintered at 900 °C have better microwave dielectric properties of ?r = 49.2, Q × f = 8839 GHz, τf = 57.6 ppm/°C, which suggest that the ceramics could be applied in multilayer microwave devices requiring low sintering temperatures.  相似文献

Ba8Zn(Nb6−xSbx)O24 (x = 0, 0.3, 0.6, 0.9, 1.2, 1.5, 1.8 and 2.4) ceramics were prepared through the conventional solid-state route. The materials were calcined at 1250 °C and sintered in the range 1400-1425 °C. The structure of the system was analyzed by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared and Raman spectroscopic methods. The theoretical and experimental densities were calculated. The microstructure of the sintered pellets was analyzed using scanning electron microscopy. The low frequency dielectric properties were studied in the frequency range 50 Hz-2 MHz. The dielectric constant (?r), temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τf) and the unloaded quality factor (Qu) are measured in the microwave frequency region using cavity resonator method. The τf values of the samples reduced considerably with the increase in Sb concentration. The materials have intense emission lines in the visible region. The compositions have good microwave dielectric properties and photoluminescence and hence are suitable for dielectric resonator and ceramic laser applications.  相似文献

xMgWO4-(1 − x) Ba0.5Sr0.5TiO3 (x = 0.0, 5.0, 15.0, 25.0 and 35.0 wt%) composite ceramics were prepared via solid state reaction processing. Their structural and dielectric properties were systematically characterized. A significant increase in grain size was observed with increasing MgWO4 content, which was accompanied by obvious variations in dielectric properties of the composite ceramics. It is found that the permittivity peaks of the samples gradually shifted to low temperatures with increasing MgWO4 content. At the same time, tunabilities of the composite ceramics decreased, but their Q values increased. The sample with 35 wt% MgWO4 possesses a high tunability of 16.8% (∼10 kHz), a low permittivity of 65 and an appropriate Q value of 309 (∼4.303 GHz), which meet the requirements of high power and impedance matching, thus making it a promising candidate for applications as electrically tunable microwave devices.  相似文献

(5 − x)BaO-xMgO-2Nb2O5 (x = 0.5 and 1; 5MBN and 10MBN) microwave ceramics prepared using a reaction-sintering process were investigated. Without any calcinations involved, the mixture of BaCO3, MgO, and Nb2O5 was pressed and sintered directly. MBN ceramics were produced after 2-6 h of sintering at 1350-1500 °C. The formation of (BaMg)5Nb4O15 was a major phase in producing 5MBN ceramics, and the formation of Ba(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 was a major phase in producing 10MBN ceramics. As CuO (1 wt%) was added, the sintering temperature dropped by more than 150 °C. We produced 5MBN ceramics with these dielectric properties: ?r = 36.69, Qf = 20,097 GHz, and τf = 61.1 ppm/°C, and 10MBN ceramics with these dielectric properties: ?r = 39.2, Qf = 43,878 GHz, and τf = 37.6 ppm/°C. The reaction-sintering process is a simple and effective method for producing (5 − x)BaO-xMgO-2Nb2O5 ceramics for applications in microwave dielectric resonators.  相似文献

Apatite structure type ortho phosphates of the formula NaLaCa3(PO4)3OH and NaLaSr3(PO4)3OH have been synthesized via a simple solution route. The compounds are isostructural with calcium hydroxyapatite. The phases are characterized by powder X-ray diffraction method and infrared spectroscopy. The unit cell parameters are: for NaLaCa3(PO4)3OH, a = 9.457(3) and c = 6.90(1) Å and for NaLaSr3(PO4)3OH, a = 9.720(3) and c = 7.23(3) Å, respectively. Knoevenagel condensation of selected aldehydes and molecules with activated methylene group is carried out using the phosphates as solid supports. Both phases facilitated the condensation reaction at room temperature in the absence of a solvent. An increase in the yield of the products is noticed when the supports are used with water.  相似文献

Na0.5Bi0.5Cu3Ti4O12 (NBCTO) ceramics were prepared by conventional solid-state reaction method. The phase structure, microstructure and dielectric properties of NBCTO ceramics sintered at various temperatures with different soaking time were investigated. Pure NBCTO phase could be obtained with increasing the temperature and prolonging the soaking time. High dielectric permittivity (13,495) and low dielectric loss (0.031) could be obtained when the ceramics were sintered at 1000 °C for 7.5 h. The ceramics sintered at 1000 °C for 7.5 h also showed good temperature stability (−4.00 to −0.69%) over a large temperature range from −50 to 150 °C. Complex impedances results revealed that the grain was semiconducting and the grain boundaries was insulating. The grain resistance (Rg) was 12.10 Ω cm and the grain boundary resistance (Rgb) was 2.009 × 105 Ω cm when the ceramics were sintered at 1000 °C for 7.5 h.  相似文献

The microwave dielectric properties and the microstructures of the (1−x)MgTiO3-xCaTiO3 ceramic system were investigated. With partial replacement of Mg by Co, dielectric properties of the (1−x)(Mg0.95Co0.05)TiO3-xCaTiO3 ceramics can be promoted. The microwave dielectric properties are strongly correlated with the sintering temperature. At 1275°C, the 0.95(Mg0.95Co0.05)TiO3-0.05CaTiO3 ceramics possesses excellent microwave dielectric properties: a dielectric constant εr of 20.3, a Q×f value of 107 000 ( at 7 GHz) and a τf value of −22.8 ppm/°C. By appropriately adjusting the x value in the (1−x)(Mg0.95Co0.05)TiO3-xCaTiO3 ceramic system, zero τf value can be achieved. With x=0.07, a dielectric constant εγ of 21.6, a Q×f value of 92 000 (at 7 GHz) and a τf value of −1.8 ppm/°C was obtained for 0.93(Mg0.95Co0.05)TiO3-0.07CaTiO3 ceramics sintered at 1275°C for 4 h.  相似文献

Microwave dielectric ceramics in the Sr1−xCaxLa4Ti5O17 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) composition series were prepared through a solid state mixed oxide route. All the compositions formed single phase ceramics within the detection limit of in-house X-ray diffraction when sintered in the temperature range 1450-1580 °C. Theoretical density and molar volume decreased due to the substitution of Ca2+ for Sr2+ which was associated with a decrease in the dielectric constant (?r) and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τf) but an increase in quality factor, Qfo. Optimum properties were achieved for Sr0.4Ca0.6La4Ti5O17 which exhibited, ?r ∼ 53.7, Qfo ∼ 11,532 GHz and τf ∼ −1.4 ppm/°C.  相似文献

Chemical interactions in mixed, aqueous solutions of NH4HCO3 and M(NO3)3·9H2O, where M stands for Ho, Sm, or La, were facilitated under various hydrothermal treatment conditions (pH 8-12 and temperature = 75-135 °C). The solution chemistry established did not make available necessary concentrations of soluble HCO3 and MO(OH)2 species for the formation of dawsonite-type ammonium hydroxymetalocarbonates, NH4M(CO3)(OH)2, but, alternatively, high concentrations of soluble CO32−, and M(H2O)n3+ or M(H2O)n−1(OH)2+ facilitating, respectively, precipitation of corresponding hydrated carbonate, M2(CO3)2·2H2O, or carbonate hydroxide, MCO3(OH). X-ray powder diffractometry, infrared spectroscopy, and thermal analyses proved alternative formation of Ho2(CO3)3·2H2O or LaCO3(OH) under the whole set of hydrothermal treatment conditions probed, and Sm2(CO3)3·2H2O at pH < 10 or SmCO3(OH) at pH ≥ 10, thus implying dependence of the composition of the product carbonate compound on the hydrolysability of the initial M(H2O)n3+ species and, hence, the metal ionic size (La > Sm > Ho). Calcination of the various hydrothermal treatment products at ≥600 °C resulted in the thermal genesis of the corresponding sesqui-oxides (M2O3). Bulk and surface characterization studies of the product oxides, employing N2 sorptiometry and scanning electron microscopy, in addition to the above analytical techniques, revealed overall strong crystallinity, large average crystallite size, and well-defined particle morphology. They revealed, moreover, surfaces, though of limited accessibilities (≤13 m2/g), exposing OH groups of various coordination symmetries and, hence, acid-base properties, thus furnishing promising surface catalytic attributes.  相似文献

The effects of CuO-V2O5 addition on the sintering temperature and microwave dielectric properties of ZnO-Nb2O5-TiO2-SnO2 were investigated. The CuO-V2O5 addition lowered the sintering temperature of ZnO-Nb2O5-TiO2-SnO2 ceramics effectively from 1150 to 860 °C due to the liquid-phase effect of Cu2V2O7 and Cu3(VO4)2, as observed by XRD. The microwave dielectric properties were found to strongly correlate with the sintering temperature and the amount of CuO-V2O5 addition. The maximum Qf values decreased with increasing CuO-V2O5 content, due to the formation of the second phase, Cu3(VO4)2 and CuNbO3. Zero τf value can be obtained by properly adjusting the sintering temperature. At 860 °C, ZnO-Nb2O5-TiO2-SnO2 ceramics with 1.5 wt.% CuO-V2O5 gave excellent microwave dielectric properties: ?r = 42.3, Qf = 9000 GHz and τf = 8 ppm/°C.  相似文献

The microwave dielectric properties and the microstructures of MgNb2O6 ceramics with CuO additions (1-4 wt.%) prepared with conventional solid-state route have been investigated. The sintered samples exhibit excellent microwave dielectric properties, which depend upon the liquid phase and the sintering temperature. It is found that MgNb2O6 ceramics can be sintered at 1140 °C due to the liquid phase effect of CuO addition. At 1170 °C, MgNb2O6 ceramics with 2 wt.% CuO addition possesses a dielectric constant (εr) of 19.9, a Q×f value of 110,000 (at 10 GHz) and a temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τf) of −44 ppm/°C. The CuO-doped MgNb2O6 ceramics can find applications in microwave devices requiring low sintering temperature.  相似文献
