ABSTRACT

Our measurements proved that the convective heat transfer coefficient (h) has a larger value hwet at the constant drying rate period and after that it falls down to a minimum one: hdry in the equilibrium dried state (see Fig.1). Our measurements showed also that the heat of vaporisation in the last phase of the falling drying rate period is far greater than it was in the constant drying rate period (see Fig.10).

Our first measurements were made on a gypsum plate. Afterwards we carried out measurement research with fine glass powder and cement-perlite plate and determined hwet and hdry heat transfer coefficients as function of Reynolds number. All of these measurements confirmed our establishment that hwet is far greater than hdry .  相似文献

Incorporation of agitation to spouted and fluidized bed dryer result in significant increases in the drying capacity (Qs), although product retention persist, which is reduced by increasing the air flow. The physical phenomena occurring in these dryers with several liquid substrates was analyzed and the residence time distributions (RTD) were obtained by the use of dye tracers. The residence time (τ) was found to be a function of the rate of agitation (n) and reaches a minimum at n = nopt, which was characteristic for each type of substrate, and where maxima also appeared for the drying capacity (Qs = Qs max) and the heat transfer coefficient (Nup = Nup max). The RTD can be modeled by series of consecutive dryers and a modified Vanderschuren and Delvosalle model can be employed to calculated moisture of the dry product.  相似文献

A steady heat transfer problem has been analyzed as a conjugate problem with turbulent flow in a circular tube. The three kinds of thermal boundary conditions considered here are specified as constant temperature, constant heat flux and constant heat transfer coefficient at the outer surface of the wall.

From the results of numerical calculation for Prandtl numbers in the range 0.01 ≤ Pr ≤ 10 and for Reynolds numbers in the range 104Re ≤ 105, it was confirmed that the dimensionless parameter Rc could have significant effects on the heat transfer and the temperature field in the fluid adjacent to the wall.  相似文献

The objective of this study is to estimate the drying characteristics of a relatively large material immersed in a fluidized bed under reduced pressure by measuring the constant drying rate. The constant drying-rate period in a fluidized bed under reduced pressure is difficult to measure because it is extremely short. To maintain the constant drying-rate period, distilled water is directly supplied to the drying material. Through our experiment, the heat transfer coefficient of the material surface was also determined. The results were compared with data on hot air drying. The constant drying rate is higher for fluidized bed drying than for hot air drying. It suggests that the heat transfer coefficient on the surface of the drying material is much larger for fluidized bed drying than for hot air drying. For fluidized bed drying, the effect of pressure in the drying chamber on the heat transfer coefficient is slight at the same normalized mass velocity of dry air (G/Gmf). The temperature difference between the inside of the drying chamber and the drying material is much smaller for fluidized bed drying than for hot air drying. The constant drying rate increases as the pressure in the drying chamber decreases.  相似文献

以火灾为背景,对一个带有质热源的方腔进行了研究。针对不同Ra,浮升力比Nc,SrDf,探讨了腔内流体的传热传质规律及其非线性特性。结果表明,存在临界Rac使流体流动由导热驱动流动转变为对流驱动流动,随着Ra增大质热源表面传热传质强度增加,流体由稳态流动转为振荡流动。当Nc>-1时,对流传热系数和对流传质系数增大,流体由稳态转化为倍周期振荡,最后转化为混沌。增大SrDf可增强传热传质能力。  相似文献

In a stirred batch electrochemical reactor where a series of cathodic reactions ABD takes place, the optimal profiles of electrode potential required to reduce the concentration of A from CAO to CAf in a specified batch period tf, while maximising the final concentration of product B, were determined by means of Pontryagin's maximum principle. The influence of the liquid/solid mass transfer coefficient and the desired final conversion rate of A was investigated. In this paper, the reaction studied was the electroreduction of oxalic acid (A) to glyoxilic acid (B) followed by the reduction of glyoxilic acid to glycollic acid (A). The results obtained by applying optimal profiles were compared to those resulting from constant electrode potentials. It was shown that in realistic operating conditions, the final concentration of Scan be improved up to 25% when electrode potential is optimised.  相似文献

The mechanism of radial heat transfer in two-phase flow through packed beds is examined. A model with 2 parameters: an effective radial thermal conductivity in the bed, ke, and a heat transfer coefficient, hw, at the wall, give a satisfactory interpretation of the radial temperature profile.

ke was expressed in terms of a stagnant contribution, due to the heat conduction through the solid and the fluid in the void space, and a radial mixing contribution of the gas and liquid phases, due to the radial component of the velocity of both fluids. The radial mixing contribution of the liquid ( ke)L was compared with radial mass dispersion data, and a satisfactory agreement was obtained.

Moreover, ( ke)was much higher than the gas mixing and the stagnant contributions.

Correlations for hw and ke)L have been proposed in accordance with the hydrodynamic regimes of the two-phase flow.  相似文献

Microwave-Vacuum Drying of Wood: Model Formulation and Verification   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Based on the mechanism of moisture and heat transfer in wood during microwave-vacuum drying (MVD), a one-dimensional mathematical model to describe the process of wood MVD was established and verified by experiments in this research. The results showed that the process of MVD of wood experienced three distinct periods: (1) accelerating rate with rapid warming-up drying period, (2) a constant temperature and constant rate drying period, and (3) a heating-up with falling rate drying period. Compared with conventional hot air drying, the total drying process is almost governed by a constant rate period in vacuum-microwave drying of wood. The predicted temperature and moisture content in wood match well with the experimental data, the square of the relevant coefficient of the values of simulation and test is above 0.9, and the simulation precision of the change rule of the moisture is higher than that of the temperature.  相似文献

给出了2种计算加热过程的圆筒形滚塑模具内表面传热系数的方法。第一种方法是利用模具表面和内部温度的实测值通过模具内部空间的热平衡方程计算出其内表面传热系数。第二种方法是借用回转窑内物料与壁面间传热系数的理论公式来计算滚塑模具内表面的传热系数。在模具内部无粉料和装有0.21 kg粉料的情形下,分别用这2种方法计算了模具内表面瞬时的传热系数和平均的传热系数,并应用流体力学的边界层理论解释了内表面传热系数随时间的变化规律。然后将第一种方法计算所得的平均传热系数整理成努塞尔数与普朗特数的无量纲准则式Nu= 45.73 Pr -0.55,其适用条件为绕中心轴转动的轴向长度大于内径的圆筒形滚塑模具。结果表明,随着模具内装有粉料的体积百分比的增大,其内表面的平均传热系数减小,同时上述2种方法计算的平均传热系数也吻合得越来越好;如果粉料的体积百分比不低于62.4 %,那么第二种方法计算结果的相对误差不超过20 %。  相似文献

The process of evaporation from flat and cylindrical surfaces into an air stream flowing tangentially to them has been experimentally investigated. An electric field has been induced in the system from an emitting electrode in the form of needles arranged in a plate placed above the grounded water surface. A decisive effect of the ion-drag force on the evaporation process has been confirmed in the experiments proving that the ionic wind had intensified the process. About 8-fold increase in the average values of the heat and mass transfer coeficients caused by an electric field of an intensity 5 kV/cm in comparison with those obtained without the field has been observed. General correlations relating the evaporation rate to the process parameters have been suggested.

The system under consideration can be treated as a model one for a solid dried at a constant rate period. The drying experiments with a kaolin plate have been carried out under conditions corresponding to those applied in water evaporation from a flat surface to provide the same values of the heat and mass transfer coefficients. Intensification of the drying process by the electric field, similar to that of water evaporation, has been recorded.  相似文献

Dielectric constant data on partially deuterated triglycine selenate (TGSe)1-x, (DTGSe)x for x = 0, 0.35, 0.80 show a steady increase of thermal hysteresis ΔT(x) with deuteration, in agreement with previous data by Gesi. In this work we correlate this observed thermal hysteresis with the parameter g(x) = (γ/β)N2μ2 obtained from hysteresis loops data, in order to characterize the ferroelectric transition. For x = 0, the transition is close to a tricritical point (g ≌ 1/3) and we see that cooling very slowly through Tc under these quasitricritical conditions results in a very large residual contribution to the dielectric constant at the ferroelectric phase.  相似文献

Drying curves obtained in a pilot-scale fluidized bed dryer using biological source solids (sawdust, soya and fish meal) were used to estimate the parameters involved in heat and mass transfer phenomenas: heat transfer coefficient and moisture diffusivity coefficient. Parameters involved in mass transfer were estimated from drying models based on diffusional mechanisms and others that in addition consider internal and external resistance to the mass transfer. The estimate ef ective diffusivity coefficient was between 2x10-11 to lx10 (m2/s) for the considered products. Heat transfer coefficient was estimated from drying data points in the constant drying rate period when the external resistance to the mass transfer controls the process.  相似文献

Fissure formation during rice drying is a major cause of rice milling quality reduction. This work has applied principles of polymer science in studying thermal and hygroscopic properties of rice kernels, particularly the glass transition temperature (Tg). This data was used to develop a hypothesis that explains the occurrence of rice kernel fissuring as a result of drying. The drying process was mapped onto a state diagram to illustrate the changes in state that a kernel could incur through drying and tempering operations. An experiment was designed to validate the hypothesis in which the effect of the Tg on rice drying and tempering in terms of milling quality was determined. Results showed that drying air temperatures up to 60°C and high moisture removal rates could be used without reducing the milling quality, as long as sufficient tempering was allowed at a temperature above the Tg of the rice.  相似文献

This work presents a methodology far obtaining heat and mass transfer coefficients for problems involving natural convection along a flat plate. In order to simulate drying conditions, a set of data has been obtained for the temperature range between 20 and 98° C and for various absolute humidities, both of the wall and ambient. It is shown that for drying at temperatures above 80° C, Nusselt and Sherwood numbers change very appreciably with respect to values obtained at smaller temperatures. The simulated results show that even for very low temperature differences, the transient period in natural convection along a flal vertical plate is smaller than 3s.  相似文献

Experimental drying rates during high temperature drying of Yellow Poplar is analyzed to determine types of drying mechanism. Drying rate during the constant rate period and effective diffusivity during the falling rate periods were obtained at dryer temperatures ranging from 100°C to 150°C.

The drying curve shows three drying regimes: a constant-rate period, and two falling rate periods. The constant rate period, where the drying rate is a linear function of time, is controlled by the rate of heat transfer to the wood surface. Both falling rate periods show a drying rate which is a linear function of the square root of time. Floisture migration during the first falling rate is by simultaneous capillary action and liquid diffusion. while moisture'migration takes place by vapor diffusion during the second falling rate period. This occurs when the moisture content of the wood falls below the fiber saturation point. The effective diffusion coefficient during both periods is found to be constant.  相似文献

The heat and mass transfer models applicable to biological products at each element in a far-infrared fixed-bed dryer were established. The model was validated by comparing the simulation results with experimental data of black mushrooms (Lentinus edodes) in terms of moisture content and drying rate. The very good agreement suggests that the models for heat transfer and drying rate of biological products in the far-infrared fixed-dryer can be obtained by establishing the equations of radiation and dehydration in interspace elements. An unevenness of change in moisture content and drying rate on the same horizontal layer in the dryer was found. Thus it is necessary to take some measures to solve this nonuniformity in drying if the proposed dryer is employed.  相似文献

Over a wide range of operating conditions, the drying of paper by impinging jets of superheated steam proceeds by a constant rate period followed by a falling rate period. The constant drying rate, investigated here in the jet temperature range 150 ≤ Tj/ ≤ 465°C and over jet Reynolds numbers of 1000 ≤ Rej ≤ 12000, is predicted within + 12% by a heat transfer expression using Martin's (1977) correlation for the heat transfer coefficient corrected for mass transfer by the Couette flow approximation factor, and a property ratio to account for the large temperature difference between the jet and the paper.  相似文献
