Steam electric power plants incorporate system components whose operation is a safety critical task. These tasks enforce the employment of safety certified control computers. On the other hand the desire for optimized plant control and the complex structure of the overall plant control system suggests the use of decentralized process control equipment. This paper discusses the integration of a safety critical PLC into a decentralized process control system based on interconnected industrial personal computers. Such an approach requires special care to ensure error confinement to non safety critical parts of the system. However, the fulfillment of this prerequisite has to be accompanied by adequate coupling between safety and non-safety critical parts of the system to allow for data communication needed for the optimized control of the plant. 相似文献

Coming cell phone systems like UMTS or digital audio broadcast (DAB) systems impose high demands on transmitter amplifier linearity. Analytical models of the microwave transistors used in the driver and power amplifier stages are necessary to describe the large signal behavior for design optimization. This paper shows how DC-IV and small signal measurements are used to generate a large signal model of microwave power transistors. Digital-Versatile-disk (DVD) systems need optoelectronic integrated circuits (OEICs) as key components in order to achieve high bandwidths. Here, the possibilities and limits of OEICs are investigated. OEICs with integrated transimpedance amplifiers in BiCMOS technology are described.
