A novel CuO-nanotubes/SnO2 composite was prepared by a facile solution method and its electrochemical properties were investigated as the anode material for Li-ion battery. The as-prepared composite consisted of monoclinic-phase CuO-nanotubes and cassiterite structure SnO2 nanoparticles, in which SnO2 nanoparticles were dramatically decorated on the CuO-nanotubes. The composite showed higher reversible capacity, better durability and high rate performance than the pure SnO2. The better electrochemical performance could be attributed to the introducing of the CuO-nanotubes. It was found that the CuO-nanotubes were reduced to metallic Cu in the first discharge cycle, which can retain tube structure of the CuO-nanotubes as a tube buffer to alleviate the volume expansion of SnO2 during cycling and act as a good conductor to improve the electrical conductivity of the electrodes.  相似文献

Silicon and silicon containing compounds are attractive anode materials for lithium batteries because of their low electrochemical potential vs. lithium and high theoretical capacities. In this work the relationship between the electrochemical performance of silicon powders and their particle sizes was studied. It is found that the material with nano particle sizes gives the best performance. New silicon/carbon composite anode materials were synthesized and their structures and electrochemical performance were investigated. The results of these studies are reported in this paper.  相似文献

Carbon-coated Si and Si/B composite powders prepared by hydrocarbon gas (argon + 10 mol% propylene) pyrolysis were investigated as the anodes for lithium-ion batteries. Carbon-coated silicon anode demonstrated the first discharge and charge capacity as 1568 mAh g−1 and 1242 mAh g−1, respectively, with good capacity retention for 10 cycles. The capacity fading rate of carbon-coated Si/B composite anode decreased as the amounts of boron increased. In addition, the cycle life of carbon-coated Si/B/graphite composite anode has been significantly improved by using sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (NaCMC) and styrene butadiene rubber (SBR)/NaCMC mixture binders compared to the poly(vinylidene fluoride, PVdF) binder. A reversible capacity of about 550 mAh g−1 has been achieved at 0.05 mAm g−1 rate and its capacity could be maintained up to 450 mAh g−1 at high rate of 0.2 mAm g−1 even after 30 cycles. The improvement of the cycling performance is attributed to the lower interfacial resistance due to good electric contact between silicon particles and copper substrate.  相似文献

A spherical nanostructured Si/graphite/carbon composite is synthesized by pelletizing a mixture of nano-Si/graphite/petroleum pitch powders, followed by heat treatment at 1000 °C under an argon atmosphere. The structure of the composite sphere is examined by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDAX). The resultant composite sphere consists of nanosized silicon and flaked graphite embedded in a carbon matrix pyrolyzed from petroleum pitch, in which the flaked graphite sheets are concentrically distributed in a parallel orientation. The composite material exhibits good electrochemical properties, a high reversible specific capacity of ∼700 mAh g−1, a high coulombic efficiency of 86% on the first cycle, and a stable capacity retention. The enhanced electrochemical performance is attributed to the structural stability of the composite sphere during the charging–discharging process.  相似文献

The study of Mg2Si/C composites as anode materials for lithium ion batteries is reported in this paper. Firstly, Mg2Si was synthesized by mechanically activated annealing (MAA) technique and the preparing conditions for pure Mg2Si alloy were investigated and optimized. Then the composite materials of Mg2Si and carbon materials such as CNTs and CMS with different ratios were prepared by the followed ball-milling techniques. Their electrochemical performances were compared by the galvanostatically charge/discharge and EIS experiments. The pure Mg2Si alloy delivers a large initial capacity, but the capacity decreases rapidly with cycling. In contrast, the composites show good cyclic stability and deliver a reversible capacity of about 400 mAh g−1 with 40% carbon in the composite. The results of EIS indicate that the composite of Mg2Si/CMS has better interface stability than that of pure Mg2Si materials.  相似文献

A simple approach is proposed to prepare C-SiO2 composites as anode materials for lithium ion batteries. In this novel approach, nano-sized silica is soaked in sucrose solution and then heat treated at 900 °C under nitrogen atmosphere. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis shows that SiO2 is embedded in amorphous carbon matrix. The electrochemical test results indicate that the electrochemical performance of the C-SiO2 composites relates to the SiO2 content of the composite. The C-SiO2 composite with 50.1% SiO2 shows the best reversible lithium storage performance. It delivers an initial discharge capacity of 536 mAh g−1 and good cyclability with the capacity of above 500 mAh g−1 at 50th cycle. Electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS) indicates that the carbon layer coated on SiO2 particles can diminish interfacial impedance, which leads to its good electrochemical performance.  相似文献

Anode performance in lithium ion rechargeable batteries (LIBs) was studied on four kinds of graphite powders, including synthetic graphite. Carbon-coated synthetic graphite gave a smaller irreversible capacity of about 20 mAh g−1 and a better cyclic performance in an electrolyte solution of EC/DMC than natural graphite, though its discharge capacity of about 300 mAh g−1 is a little smaller than natural graphite. Even in a PC-containing solution as EC/PC = 3/1, carbon-coated synthetic graphite had almost the same anode performance as in the solution without PC. Carbon coating of above 5 mass% on graphite particles was found to be effective to improve the anode performance at a low temperature of −5 °C, high retention in discharge capacity of about 90% being obtained. On both natural and synthetic graphite powders, carbon coating by the amount of 3–10 mass% at a temperature of 700–1000 °C was found to be optimum for the improvement of anode performance in LIBs, to have a lower irreversible capacity and higher retention in discharge capacity at −5 °C than without carbon coating.  相似文献

Li4Ti5O12 sub-micro crystallites are synthesized by ball-milling and one-step sintering under different heat treatment temperature from 700 °C to 900 °C. The composite electrode of Li4Ti5O12/carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is prepared by mixing powders of Li4Ti5O12 and CNTs in different weight ratios. Before mixing, in order to disperse CNTs in Li4Ti5O12 particles preferably, the CNTs are cut and dispersed by hyperacoustic shear method and the composite electrodes of low resistance of about 20–30 Ω are obtained. The composite electrodes have steady discharge platform of 1.54 V and large specific capacity, initial discharge capacities are 168, 200, 196, 176 mAh g−1 in different Li4Ti5O12:CNTs weight ratios of 94:1, 92:3, 90:5, 88:7 respectively at 0.1 C discharge rate for the Li4Ti5O12 synthesized in an optimized heat treatment temperature of 800 °C. In our experimental range, the composite electrode in a CNTs weight ratio of 3:92 shows the best performance under different discharge rate such as the initial capacity is 200 mAh g−1 with discharge capacities retention rate of nearly 100%. Its capacity is about 151 mAh g−1 under 20 C rate discharge condition with excellent high-rate performance. There is almost no decline after 20th cycles under 10 C rate discharging condition.  相似文献

A modified synthesis process was developed based on co-precipitation method followed by spray drying process. In this process, a spherical shaped (Co1/3Ni1/3Mn1/3)(OH)2 precursor was synthesized by co-precipitation and pre-heated at 500 °C to form a high structural stability spinel (CoNiMn)O4 to maintain its shape for further processing. The spherical LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 was then prepared by spray drying process using spherical spinel (CoNiMn)O4. LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 powders were then modified by coating their surface with a uniform and nano-sized layer of ZrO2. The ZrO2-coated LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 material exhibited an improved rate capability and cycling stability under a high cut-off voltage of 4.5 V. X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements revealed that the material had a well-ordered layered structure and Zr was not doped into the LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements showed that the coated material has stable cell resistance regardless of cycle number. The interrupt charging/discharging test indicated that the ZrO2 coating can suppress the polarization effects during the charging and discharging process. From these results, it is believed that the improved cycling performance of ZrO2-coated LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 is attributed to the ability of ZrO2 layer in preventing direct contact of the active material with the electrolyte resulting in a decrease of electrolyte decomposition reactions.  相似文献

We demonstrate, for the first time, a considerable electrochemical activity of two members of lithium transition element titanates: Li2FeTiO4 and Li2MnTiO4. Both materials consist of 10–20 nm particles embedded in a conductive carbon coating. We show that not the coating but the small particle size is decisive for materials’ activity. Li2FeTiO4 shows a stable reversible capacity of up to 123 mA hg−1 at C/20 and 60 °C which is 83% of the theoretical value for exchange of 1 electron (148 mA hg−1). Li2MnTiO4 could only be prepared in a nanosized form that contained about 30% of impurities. The capacity of the whole material (including impurities) is comparable to that of Li2FeTiO4 but the cycling stability is much poorer. In contrast to the Fe and Mn analogues, the third member of the titanate family, Li2NiTiO4, shows a good electrochemistry even when the particle size is much larger (about 100 nm). During initial cycles at C/10 and 60 °C, exchange of more than 1 electron per compound formula has been observed. The cycling stability at high temperatures, however, is poor.  相似文献

Li4Ti5O12 is a very promising anode material for lithium secondary batteries. To improve the material's rate capability and pile density is considered as the important researching direction. One effective way is to prepare powders composed of spherical particles containing carbon black. A novel technique has been developed to prepare spherical Li4Ti5O12/C composite. The spherical precursor containing carbon black is prepared via an “outer gel” method, using TiOCl2, C and NH3 as the raw material. Spherical Li4Ti5O12/C powders are synthesized by sintering the mixture of spherical precursor and Li2CO3 in N2. The investigation of TG/DSC, SEM, XRD, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) testing, laser particle size analysis, tap-density testing and the determination of the electrochemical properties show that the Li4Ti5O12/C composite prepared by this method are spherical, has high tap-density and excellent rate capability. It is observed that the tap-density of spherical Li4Ti5O12/C powders (the mass content of C is 4.8%) is as high as 1.71 g cm−3, which is remarkably higher than the non-spherical Li4Ti5O12. Between 1.0 and 3.0 V versus Li, the initial discharge specific capacity of the sample is as high as 144.2 mAh g−1, which is still 128.8 mAh g−1 after 50 cycles at a current density of 1.6 mA cm−2.  相似文献

Carbon coating of natural graphite particles was performed by mechanical mixing of natural graphite with different carbon precursors in a scale of about 100 g. Anode performance in lithium ion rechargeable batteries was studied on the resultant carbon-coated graphite. Carbon formed on graphite particles had amorphous structure and low density. By carbon coating, a decrease in irreversible capacity of the first charge/discharge cycle in an electrolyte solution of EC/PC = 3/1 was observed, without noticeable change in discharge capacity. Carbon derived from different precursors did not give any marked difference in anode performance of carbon-coated graphite. Optimum conditions for carbon coating were determined as the coating of 4-13 mass% at 700-1000 °C. The present mechanical mixing of natural graphite and carbon precursor in powder is concluded to be a simple but sufficient process to produce carbon-coated graphite for anode material in lithium ion rechargeable batteries. As carbon precursor, PVA was shown to be one of the appreciable carbon precursors.  相似文献

The carbon coated monoclinic Li3V2(PO4)3 (LVP/C) powder is successfully synthesized by a carbothermal reduction method using crystal sugar as the carbon source. Its structure and physicochemical properties are investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and electrochemical methods. The LVP/C electrode exhibits stable reversible capacities of 203 and 102 mAh g−1 in the potential ranges of 3.0-0.0 V and 3.0-1.0 V versus Li+/Li, respectively. It is identified that the insertion/extraction of Li+ undergoes a series of two-phase transition processes between 3.0 and 1.6 V and a single phase process between 1.6 and 0.0 V. The ex situ XRD patterns of the electrodes at various lithiated states indicate that the monoclinic structure can still be retained during charge-discharge process and the insertion/deinsertion of lithium ions occur reversibly, which provides an excellent cycling stability with high energy efficiency.  相似文献

The effects of dopant on the electrochemical properties of spinel-type Li3.95M0.15Ti4.9O12 (M = Al, Ga, Co) and Li3.9Mg0.1Al0.15Ti4.85O12 were systematically investigated. Charge–discharge cycling were performed at a constant current density of 0.15 mA cm−2 between the cut-off voltages of 2.3 and 0.5 V, the experimental results showed that Al3+ dopant greatly improved the reversible capacity and cycling stability over the pristine Li4Ti5O12. The substitution of the Ga3+ slightly increased the capacity of the Li4Ti5O12, but did not essentially alleviate the degradation of cycling stability. Dopants such as Co3+ and Mg2+ to some extent worsened the electrochemical performance of the Li4Ti5O12.  相似文献

Nanosized rutile TiO2 has been prepared by sol–gel chemistry from a glycerol-modified titanium precursor in the presence of an anionic surfactant. The sample has been characterized by X-ray diffraction, nitrogen sorption, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and electrochemical tests. Nanosized rutile TiO2 has been electrochemically investigated using two potential windows: 1.2–3 V and 1–3 V. It exhibits excellent high rates capabilities and good cycling stability.  相似文献

We present an electrochemical study of BiSbO4, an opened layered oxide having a structure related to Aurivillius phases. Li//BiSbO4 cells show a large specific capacity as high as 1250 mAh g−1 during reduction down to 0.5 V. This reaction involves 18Li atoms per formula unit, pointing it towards a very promising cathode material for primary lithium batteries, in particular for ICD devices. The characterization of the reduction products indicates that the reduction of BiSbO4 with lithium presumably goes along firstly with the formation of metallic Sb and Bi to follow the formation of the alloys Li3Bi and Li3Sb dispersed in a lithium oxide matrix. In situ X-ray diffraction experiments proved the amorphous nature of both metals and final alloys. On the other hand when Li//BiSbO4 cells are limited to discharge down to 1.2 V, BiSbO4 reacts with 5Li atoms. After the first discharge, that develops a specific capacity of 350 mAh g−1, high cyclability has been observed.  相似文献

A new anode composite material is prepared by thermal treatment of a blend made of silicon monoxide (SiO) and lithium hydroxide (LiOH) at 550 °C followed by ball milling with graphite. X-ray diffraction pattern confirms the presence of Li4SiO4 in the thermally treated (SiO + LiOH) material. The electrode appears to be smooth and glassy as evident from observation with a scanning electron microscope (SEM), possibly due to the presence of nano-silicon and Li4SiO4 particles, and exhibits superior performance with a charge capacity of ∼333 mAh g−1 at the 100th cycle with a low-capacity fade on cycling. Cyclic voltammograms of the electrode predict high power capability. On the other hand, the electrode comprising of only SiO and C prepared through ball milling, devoid of Li4SiO4, shows hard crust particulates in the electrode exhibiting low charge–discharge capacities with cycling.  相似文献

We report on a new composite material in view of its application as a negative electrode in lithium-ion batteries. A commercial preceramic polysilazane mixed with graphite in 1:1 weight ratio was transformed into a SiCN/graphite composite material through a pyrolytic polymer-to-ceramic conversion at three different temperatures, namely 950 °C, 1100 °C and 1300 °C. By means of Raman spectroscopy we found successive ordering of carbon clusters into nano-crystalline graphitic regions with increasing pyrolysis temperature. The reversible capacity of about 350 mAh g−1 was measured with constant current charging/discharging for the composite prepared at 1300 °C. For comparison pure graphite and pure polysilazane-derived SiCN ceramic were examined as reference materials. During fast charging and discharging the composite material demonstrates enhanced capacity and stability. Charging and discharging in half an hour lead to about 200 and 10 mAh g−1, for the composite annealed at 1300 °C and pure graphite, respectively. A clear dependence between the final material capacity and pyrolysis temperature is found and discussed with respect to possible application in batteries, i.e. practical discharging potential limit. The best results in terms of capacity recovered under 1 V and high rate capability were also obtained for samples synthesized at 1300 °C.  相似文献

MoO2 synthesized through reduction of MoO3 with ethanol vapor at 400 °C was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Its electrochemical performance as an anode material for lithium ion battery was tested by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and capacity measurements. During the reduction process, the starting material (MoO3) collapsed into nanoparticles (∼100 nm), on the nanoparticles remains a carbon layer from ethanol decomposition. Rate capacity and cycling performance of the as-prepared product is very satisfactory. It displays 318 mAh g−1 in the initial charge process with capacity retention of 100% after 20 cycles in the range of 0.01–3.00 V vs. lithium metal at a current density of 5.0 mA cm−2, and around 85% of the retrievable capacity is in the range of 1.00–2.00 V. This suggests the application of this type of MoO2 as anode material in lithium ion batteries.  相似文献
