The body of Charlie Brown’s teacher: What instructors should know about constructing digital subjectivities

Although scholars from multiple fields, including rhetoric and composition, have studied and theorized how computer users can construct empowered subject positions with digital writing technologies, we have yet to articulate a rhetorical process for composing digital subjectivities. Past work has presented some unrealistic expectations related to digital empowerment and subjectivity. As compositionists and as digital rhetoricians, we need to develop and articulate rhetorical strategies that may lead to instructor empowerment. Here I examine rhetorical situations experienced by instructors, and I explore how they might use writing technologies to rhetorically position themselves in the classroom. To not only successfully revise their subjectivity, but also to teach students how to compose digital subjectivities, instructors should consider the ideologies that define the rhetorical situation, their knowledge of the technologies, and the ideologies that the computer industries have written into the technology.     

一种实现高效副本发布与查询的DHT覆盖网

在对等计算应用中,副本复制技术是提升查询命中率、提升查询速度、维护负载均衡的一种有效方法,然而它也提升了在存储空间和流量上的代价.研究如何在结构化的P2P覆盖网中,通过拓扑优化手段减少复制中的冗余流量和冗余副本.首先在网络中选择支配集节点作为超级节点,设计一个层次化的、体现节点邻近度的P2P覆盖网,然后基于多hash函数,开发对应的复制技术以实现低代价的副本查询.该方法能够有效地在网络中分散副本,提升查询命中率,减少冗余消息和所需存储空间.给出了性能指标的理论分析,并通过仿真验证了该方法的优越性.     

结构应变的无线监测及融合技术

针对结构应变监测,设计了一类无线应变传感装置,并对该装置采集的数据进行了数据融合处理.,介绍了无线应变传感器的硬件集成;描述了基于算术平均值的无线应变传感器信息融合方法;结合应变的无线测试实验,应用数据融合技术对测量数据加以分析处理.研究表明:所集成的无线应变传感器,安装简单、携带方便;采用了数据融合处理的应变信号更加准确;基于数据融合的无线应变传感器适合在现场测试中应用.

The dynamics of culture, organisational culture and change

The interface between cultural anthropology, cross-cultural psychology, cultural psychology and indigenous psychology provides a rich context for examining recent developments within the field of organisational culture, both from a societal (national) and a cross-cultural perspective. It is argued in this paper that cultural patterns in society impact deeply on cultural patterns in organisations. In other words, organisational culture reflects the way in which the societal context shapes the organisational context, which in turn moulds the beliefs, attitudes and behaviour of its members — individuals and groups. It is further posited that organisational cultural and societal culture recursively mirror one another. The complexity of the interdependence between societal culture and organisational culture will be traced, drawing on the evolving nature of the construct culture within the traditions of anthropology, cross-cultural psychology, indigenous psychology and organisational psychology. The hidden source of cultural elements embedded in the organisational domain will be examined from the perspective of an appreciation of diversity and a recognition of the need to support and encourage the variations that add to our creativity as well astosystem/organisational effectiveness.

Retrieval and analysis of aerosol optical characteristics in Hubei Province,China, based on CALIPSO

The aerosol optical characteristics in Hubei Province, China, derived from Cloud-Aerosol Lidar and Infrared Pathfinder Satellite Observation (CALIPSO), are investigated. Through this spaceborne lidar, some limitations of airborne and ground-based systems can be overcome and a global survey of clouds and aerosol can be provided. First, a lidar ratio selection algorithm is introduced. Since the lidar ratio (the aerosol extinction-to-backscatter ratio, S _a) is an important parameter used in aerosol retrieval, it is required for a reliable aerosol model. After retrieving the original signal, aerosol optical parameters are obtained. Based on these steps, the impacts of atmospheric motion on aerosol diffusion in different layers, the distribution of these aerosols, as well as their time-changing characteristic in Hubei Province are discussed. The studies show that in areas of plains aerosols are easily influenced by wind; furthermore, aerosol distribution in the western Hubei Province is usually influenced by biomass burning and in eastern Hubei by industrial emission. Although errors still exist, the aerosol optical characteristics in different regions are strongly related to the ground surface, wind direction and visible distinctions exist in urban and country areas.
