This paper is concerned with robust pole assignment in synthesis of linear control systems via state and output feedbacks. First, both the pole assignment and robustness requirements are appropriately formulated as two optimization problems. Then, gradient flow models are developed for the on-line computation of feedback gain matrices that result in robust pole assignment by solving these two optimization problems. A technique is introduced to facilitate the real-time matrix inverse involved for realizing the gradient flow models. The resulting augmented gradient flows have desired convergence properties. Simulation results are included to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the problem of robust state estimation for linear perturbed discrete-time systems with error variance and circular pole constraints. The goal of this problem addressed is the design of a linear state estimator such that, for all admissible uncertainties in both state and output equations, the following two performance requirements are simultaneously satisfied: (1) the poles of the filtering matrix are all constrained to lie inside a prespecified circular region; and (2) the steady-state variance of the estimation error for each state is not more than the individual prespecified value. It is shown that this problem can be converted to an auxiliary matrix assignment problem and solved by using an algebraic matrix equation/inequality approach. Specifically, the conditions for the existence of desired estimators are obtained and the explicit expression of these estimators is also derived. The main results are then extended to the case when an H performance requirement is added. Finally, a numerical example is presented to demonstrate the significance of the proposed technique.  相似文献

Pole assignment is a basic design method for synthesis of feedback control systems. In this paper, a gradient flow approach is presented for robust pole assignment in synthesizing output feedback control systems. The proposed approach is shown to be capable of synthesizing linear output feedback control systems via on-line robust pole assignment. Convergence of the gradient flow can be guaranteed. Moreover, with appropriate design parameters the gradient flow converges exponentially to an optimal solution to the robust pole assignment problem and the closed-loop control system based on the gradient flow is globally exponentially stable. These desired properties make it possible to apply the proposed approach to slowly time-varying linear control systems. Simulation results are shown to demonstrate the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed approach.  相似文献

In this paper, the dominant pole assignment problem, the dominant eigenstructure assignment problem and the robust dominant pole assignment problem for linear time-invariant positive systems with state feedback are considered. The dominant pole assignment problem is formulated as a linear programming problem, and the dominant eigenstructure problem is formulated as a quasiconvex optimisation problem with linear constraints. The robust dominant pole assignment problem is formulated as a non-convex optimisation problem with non-linear constraints which is solved using particle swarm optimisation (PSO) with an efficient scheme which employs the dominant eigenstructure assignment technique to accelerate the convergence of the PSO procedure. Each of the three problems can be further constrained by requiring that the controller has a pre-specified structure, or the gain matrix have both elementwise upper and lower bounds. These constraints can be incorporated into the proposed scheme without increasing the complexity of the algorithms. Both the continuous-time case and the discrete-time case are treated in the paper.  相似文献

The problem of regulating the output voltage of the Boost DC-to-DC power converter has attracted the attention of many control researchers for several years now. Besides its practical relevance, the system is an interesting theoretical case study because it is a switched device whose averaged dynamics are described by a bilinear second order nonminimum phase system with saturated input, partial state measurement and a highly uncertain parameter – the load resistance. In this paper we propose an output-feedback saturated controller which ensures regulation of the desired output voltage and is, at the same time, insensitive to uncertainty in the load resistance. Furthermore, bounds on this parameter can be used to tune the controller so as to (locally) ensure robust performance, e.g., that the transient has no (under) over-shoot. The controller, which is designed following the passivity-based interconnection and damping assignment methodology recently proposed in the literature, is a static nonlinear output feedback. This allows us to invoke simple phase-plane techniques to determine the exact domain of attraction as well as the admissible initial conditions that ensure the control objectives. One final advantage of our controller is that it is computationally less demanding than the industry standard lead-lag filters.  相似文献

The problem of pole assignment by static output feedback is solved in this paper for 2 × 2 plants. It is shown that the problem solvability is equivalent to the solvability of some quadratic equation and the latter can be checked through the affine transformation of quadratic functions. This paper studies the problem of expertise matching with various constraints. Expertise matching, which aims to find the alignment between experts and queries, is a common problem in many applications such as conference paper-reviewer assignment, product-reviewer alignment, and product-endorser matching. Most existing methods formalize this problem as an information-retrieval problem and focus on finding a set of experts for each query independently. However, in real-world systems, various constraints are often needed to be considered. For example, in order to review a paper, it is desirable that there is at least one senior reviewer to guide the reviewing process. An important question is: “Can we design a framework to efficiently find the optimal solution for expertise matching under various constraints?” This paper explores such an approach by formulating the expertise matching problem in a constraint-based optimization framework. In the proposed framework, the problem of expertise matching is linked to a convex cost flow problem, which guarantees an optimal solution under various constraints. We also present an online matching algorithm to support incorporating user feedbacks in real time. The proposed approach has been evaluated on two different genres of expertise matching problems, namely conference paper-reviewer assignment and teacher-course assignment. Experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. Based on the proposed method, we have also developed an online system for paper-reviewer suggestions, which has been used for paper-reviewer assignment in a top conference and feedbacks from the conference organizers are very positive.  相似文献

This paper considers the problem of robust H control for uncertain discrete systems with time-varying delays. The system under consideration is subject to time-varying norm-bounded parameter uncertainties in both the state and measured output matrices. Attention is focused on the design of a full-order exponential stable dynamic output feedback controller which guarantees the exponential stability of the closed-loop system and reduces the effect of the disturbance input on the controlled output to a prescribed level for all admissible uncertainties. In terms of a linear matrix inequality (LMI), a sufficient condition for the solvability of this problem is presented, which is dependent on the size of the delay. When this LMI is feasible, the explicit expression of the desired output feedback controller is also given. Finally, an example is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.  相似文献

For linear, time-invariant, stabilizable multivariable systems, we examine the problem of the existence and computation of proper denominator assigning and internally stabilizing feedback compensators, which give rise to a closed-loop system, whose transfer function matrix is equal to one that can be obtained by the action of state variable feedback. We establish a sufficient condition for the solution of this problem for the class of systems with the same number of inputs and outputs and non-singular transfer function matrix with all its zeros located in the open left half of the complex plane.  相似文献

This paper presents a novel method for the design of gain-scheduled output feedback controllers in the presence of hidden coupling terms, which naturally arise when endogenous signals are used as scheduling parameters. In this case, the controller gains vary with respect to system variables, leading to inner loops between the system and the linearized gain-scheduled controller dynamics. Such effects, also known as parasitic feedbacks, are inherently difficult to handle in classic gain-scheduling control design and are often omitted, which might result in performance degradations or even destabilization of the closed-loop system. This paper shows how such a pitfall can be avoided through the application of self-scheduling and eigenstructure assignment techniques. In this context, the main contribution of the present work is the extension of eigenstructure assignment-based self-scheduling techniques for explicit hidden coupling terms handling. The viability of the proposed method is illustrated through a pitch-axis missile autopilot benchmark problem.  相似文献

It is well known that the poles of a linear time-invariant controllable and observable system can be assigned arbitrarily by state feedback. When only the output is available, pole assignment is still possible by means of dynamic output feedback. In this paper the potential of time-varying memoryless output feedback is considered. It is shown that, up to some technical conditions, it is indeed possible to allocate the poles of a linear time-invariant discrete-time system by memoryless output feedback with periodic gains. The period of the gains is (n + 1) with n the order of the system. The power of the design technique is proved to be comparable to what can be achieved by the classical dynamic feedback approach.  相似文献

The problem of pole structure assignment (PSA) by state feedback in implicit, linear and uncontrollable systems is discussed in the article. It is shown that the problem is solvable if the system is regularisable. Then necessary and sufficient conditions for characteristic polynomial assignment are established. In the case of PSA (invariant polynomials assignment) just necessary conditions have been obtained. But it turns out that these conditions are also sufficient in some special cases. This happens, for example, when the system does not possess any non-proper controllability indexes. A possible application of the achieved results to modelling a constrained movement of a robot arm is outlined, too.  相似文献

This note considers the assignment of the eigenstructure of the closed-loop system via state feedback. This assignment is achieved by assigning the Jordan pair of the denominator matrix polynomial of the controllable MIMO system via state feedback. It turns out that for proper assignment one must take into account the almost forgotten infinite eigenstructure of the system, even though they are invariant under constant state feedback. This article considers the design of finite-dimensional compensators for distributed-parameter systems using eigenvalue assignment. The proposed compensator consists of an observer estimating additional outputs and a static feedback of the measurable and the estimated outputs. Since the additional outputs can be asymptotically reconstructed, the compensator can be designed using the separation principle, i.e. the closed-loop eigenvalues are given by the observer eigenvalues and the eigenvalues resulting from the static output feedback control. In order to solve the corresponding eigenvalue assignment problem, the parametric approach for the design of static output feedback controllers in finite-dimensions is extended to distributed-parameter systems. By using a parameter optimisation it is possible to assign all closed-loop eigenvalues within specified regions of the complex plane in order to stabilise the system and to assure a desired control performance. A heat conductor is used to demonstrate the proposed design procedure.  相似文献
