As it did in 1998, the Executive Committee of the American Psychological Association (APA) Division of the History of Psychology agreed to invite the one division member (Ludy T. Benjamin, Jr.) who is a candidate for the APA presidency to submit brief statements concerning his candidacy. These "biographical" and "policy" statements are shown in this article. Also included in this column are Division 26 program changes for the APA convention, a report on the February 1999 meeting of the APA Council of Representatives, and a note on the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of Phineas Gage's accident, which involved a massive injury to the brain, survival, and major personality changes.
