It has been more than 160 years since H. Bessemer, a British metallurgist, first put forward the idea of the twin-roll strip casting technology in 1856. Numerous technical routes have been explored in the laboratory, a large number of research papers have been published, and a large number of technical patents have been lodged, all of which point toward the good prospects for the development of twinroll strip casting.
