A 5 kW CW CO2 laser using a negative-branch unstable resonator (M=-1.5) is proposed and characterized experimentally. The resonator consists of a stepwise variable reflecting output coupler, called the phase-unifying output coupler, and a total reflector. A 5 kW CW laser beam with diffraction limited quality (2&thetas;=0.45 mrad) is obtained and affected by the focal point in the resonator. The misalignment angle to reduce the laser power to 95% is improved by a factor of 19 compared with a positive-branch unstable resonator (M=1.5) with a phase-unifying output coupler at the same resonator length  相似文献

A CW CO2 laser with power output of more than 20 kW is described. The laser consists of a discharge excitation system named SAGE (Silent-discharge Assisted Glow discharge Excitation) and a ZnSe or KCl transmissive window for extracting high-quality beams with axisymmetric intensity profile from a confocal positive-branch unstable resonator. SAGE is effective in forming a uniformly distributed and stable discharge in a large-volume, high-pressure gas excitation medium. Together with appropriate high-pressure gas conditions and a properly selected zeolite to adsorb water vapor in the laser chamber, the transmissive windows enable gas-sealed operations. The structure of the 20-kW SAGE laser and its performance characteristics are described. The maximum CW power of 26.5 kW with an efficiency of 16.5% is attained with the ZnSe window, and a 20.3-kW power output is extracted through the KCl window. Long-term gas-sealed operation at a CW power level of 20 kW has been demonstrated for a period of 65 h  相似文献

A novel resonator based on a stable resonator configuration designed to yield a highly focusing beam operating in a large-volume TEM 00 is presented. An output coupler of the new stable resonator has a circular partial-reflection region in the center that is surrounded by an antireflection region. Main-beam mode is determined by the partial-reflection region existing in the “core” of the output coupler. A diffraction beam spread from the center of the optical path in the cavity is amplified by a laser medium. By combining part of the core beam transmitted from the partial-reflection region with the amplified diffraction beam under the phase-unified condition, a diffraction-limited laser beam having a large diameter is obtained. A 6.2-kW linearly polarized output beam with the M2 factor of 1.7 is obtained experimentally for a high-power CW CO2 laser. A high-power CW 27.972 μm water vapor laser has been constructed in order to use as a light source of an interferometer for plasma diagnostics. The laser consists of 220 cm length and 2.0 cm small bore Pyrex glass discharge tube, semi-confocal resonator and Michelson coupler. From the measurement of cavity detuning curves, it is found that two waveguide modes, EH11 and EH21 oscillate. The increase of the output power is found to become more than seven times larger by adding He(50%)?H2(50%) mixed gas. Under the optimum condition, the maximum output power of 65 mW or the output power per unit cavity volume of 83 μW/cm3 is obtained.  相似文献

A simple and compact linear resonator green laser at 532 nm is generated by intracavity frequencydoubling of a diode-side-pumped acousto-optically (AO) Q-switched Nd:YAG laser at 1064 nm. Two acoustooptic Q-switches were placed orthogonally with each other to improve the hold-off capacity. As high as 214 W of continuous-wave (CW) and 154 W of quasi-continuous-wave (QCW) output power at 1064 nm were obtained when the pumping power was 1598 W. The type I phase-matched BBO crystal was used as the nonlinear medium in the second harmonic generation. A green laser with an average output power of 37 W was obtained at a repetition rate of 20 kHz and a pulse width of 54 ns, which corresponds to pulse energy of 1.85 mJ per pulse and a peak power 34.26 kW, respectively.  相似文献

Characterization of diode-pumped laser operation of a novel Yb:GSO Crystal   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
We report what is believed to be the first demonstration of the laser action of Yb/sup 3+/-doped Gd/sub 2/SiO/sub 5/ (Yb:GSO)crystal pumped by a 940-nm laser diode at room temperature. The threshold of laser generation is only 0.85 kW/cm/sup 2/, which is smaller than the theoretic threshold of Yb:YAG (1.54 kW/cm/sup 2/). The laser wavelength is 1090 nm. With a 2.5% output coupler, the maximum output power is 415 mW under a pump power of 5W. By using the SESAM, the Q-switched modelocking and CW mode-locked operations are demonstrated.  相似文献

对管板式低气压放电结构、横流连续2kWCO2激光器以Ar气取代部分He气进行了研究。He气的取代量(掺Ar量)从20%增加到60%,工作气压在2.93~4.26kPa,放电电流在3~11A的范围,激光器放电稳定,运转正常,可获得良好的输出特性,如输出功率为1.7kW,电光转换效率为16%。  相似文献

为了研究Nd:YAP晶体在LD端面抽运中的1341.4nm激光输出特性,采用理论计算和实验测量了实验系统的热焦距,对比了平平腔和平凹腔激光输出结果。采用输出耦合率为T=2.4%的平凹腔和输出耦合率为T=2.6%的平平腔,分别得到了3.15W和2.86W的1341.4nm线偏振激光输出,对应斜效率分别为18.4%和17.5%。结果表明,Nd:YAP作为1.3μm波段激光晶体具有潜在的优点。  相似文献

在千瓦级基模连续CO_2激光器谐振腔设计中,采用具有良好横模选择能力的准封离型多折腔方案,考虑到共振腔内负的气体热透镜效应,使模体积与激发体积形成良好匹配,谐振腔获得稳定的最大效益的功率输出。在此基础上采用机械斩光盘式调Q方案,调整谐振腔设计参数,补偿高功率激光窗口正的热透镜效应,获得了最大平均输出功率800W的以基模为主的CO_2调Q脉冲输出。  相似文献

介绍了连续激光二极管抽运声光Q开关Nd:YAG激光器抽运的高重复频率1.57μm人眼安全光参变振荡器实验研究结果.采用连续激光二极管三侧面抽运Nd:YAG模块和QSGSU-6型小型声光Q开关,1.57μm光参变振荡谐振腔置于1.06μm Nd:YAG激光谐振腔内,非线性晶体为X切割的KTP晶体,利用Ⅱ类非临界相位匹配光参变振荡输出1.57μm波长激光.在重频1kHz~5 kHz时进行了初步实验,在重频3kHz时,获得1.57μm高重复频率激光最大输出功率480mW,最大峰值功率58.8kW,脉宽2.72ns,电光效率达2.6‰.试验结果表明,连续激光二极管抽运声光Q开关内腔光参变振荡器是获得高频人眼安全激光的一种有效途径.  相似文献

The feasibility of an 84 GHz, 500 kW, CW gyrotron for ECRH on an experimental tokamak will be presented in this paper. Mode competition and mode selection procedures are carefully investigated by considering various candidate modes and the TE10,4 mode is chosen as the operating mode. A conventional cylindrical cavity resonator with weak input and output tapers and parabolic roundings is considered for interaction studies. Self-consistent, both single mode and time-dependent, calculations are carried out and power and efficiencies are computed for a typical set of beam parameters. The results show that an output power of well over 500 kW, CW and efficiency around 40% can be reached without a depressed collector.  相似文献

为了提高激光功率的稳定性和控制精度,设计了一种新颖的高功率激光实时检测与控制装置。该系统由光功率采样单元和反馈控制单元两部分组成。采样单元利用尾镜的微量透射光进行激光采样,经衰减后再由探测器进行接收并对其加以处理;然后将处理信号送到反馈控制单元去自动调节放电电流,以保证输出激光功率的稳定。实验表明,该系统能够实时监控激光的输出功率,有效提高激光功率的控制精度和稳定性。在4kW轴快流CO2激光器上的实际运行结果表明,该系统可使得激光功率稳定度达到±0.1%水平。  相似文献

脉冲氙离子激光器具有高功率输出和较长的激光脉冲宽度,而且结构简单,用它来泵浦可调谐染料激光器,引起了人们的兴趣.H(?)nsch等首先用氙离子激光器泵浦若丹明6G染料,获得了染料激光输出,以后Laird.D.Schearer等作了进一步的研究.采用染料快速流动可获得高达40%的转换效率,利用氙离子的紫外输出谱线,还可将染料激光器的输出扩展到紫外波段.  相似文献
