The performance of space-time transmit diversity is examined in a multiuser direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS-CDMA) system over fast- and slow-fading channels. The underlying space-time system employs transmit antennas and receive antennas at the mobile user and receiver base station, respectively. We consider the performance of the space-time multiuser system when using the linear decorrelator detector to combat the effect of multiuser interference. In our analysis, we derive a closed-form expression for the probability of bit error for both fast- and slow-fading channels. These theoretical results are shown to be very accurate when compared to system simulations. Both simulations and theoretical results prove that, regardless of the system load, the full diversity order of for fast-fading channels and for slow-fading channels is always maintained, and only a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) loss is incurred. This SNR loss is proved to be a function of only the number of users (i.e., level of interference) and independent of the number of transmit and/or receive antennas. Using our theoretical results, we show that the loss in SNR from the single-user bound can be well approximated by , where represents the level of multiuser interference. 相似文献

A precise bit-error probability analysis method for multicode DS-CDMA systems in Rayleigh fading is derived. The proposed
method applies to a multicode DS-CDMA system with an arbitrary number of multiple code sequences and any selection of multiple
code sequences. The method gives accurate results for Rayleigh fading while requiring only a single numerical integration
of an integrand involving the well-known Q-function. The solution discriminates the effect of the selection of different multiple
code sequences on the bit-error probability, whereas Gaussian approximations do not. Numerical examples show that the differences
between exact and approximate methods for a multicode DS-CDMA system operating over Rayleigh fading channels may be more significant
than for a single code system in Rayleigh fading channels or for a multicode system in AWGN channels when the spreading factor
is not significantly large compared to the number of multiple code sequences. 相似文献

In this paper, we consider the design and bit-error performance analysis of linear parallel interference cancellers (LPIC) for multicarrier (MC) direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) systems. We propose an LPIC scheme where we estimate and cancel the multiple access interference (MAI) based on the soft decision outputs on individual subcarriers, and the interference cancelled outputs on different subcarriers are combined to form the final decision statistic. We scale the MAI estimate on individual subcarriers by a weight before cancellation. In order to choose these weights optimally, we derive exact closed-form expressions for the bit-error rate (BER) at the output of different stages of the LPIC, which we minimize to obtain the optimum weights for the different stages. In addition, using an alternate approach involving the characteristic function of the decision variable, we derive BER expressions for the weighted LPIC scheme, matched filter (MF) detector, decorrelating detector, and minimum mean square error (MMSE) detector for the considered multicarrier DS-CDMA system. We show that the proposed BER-optimized weighted LPIC scheme performs better than the MF detector and the conventional LPIC scheme (where the weights are taken to be unity), and close to the decorrelating and MMSE detectors. 相似文献

Cloud computing is a global technology for data storage and retrieving. Cloud service provider and the Cloud service accessibility are the two major problems in cloud computing. The Economic Denial of Sustainability (EDoS) attack is an important attack towards the cloud service providers. The attackers may send continuous requests to the cloud in a particular second. Hence the legitimate user cannot access the data due to heavy cloud traffic. Hence the paid user cannot access the data. However, this problem makes an economical issue to the users. So this paper presented a new technique as, ADS-PAYG (Attack Defense Shell- Pay As You Go) approach using Trust Factor method against the EDoS attack is proposed to improve more number of authenticated users by fixing a threshold value. The algorithm produced an effective result based on response time, accuracy and CPU utilization. The ADS-PAYG solution is applied using MATLAB, which outperforms other Trust factor estimation methods and effectively distinguishes attackers from legitimate users. The detection accuracy is 83.43% for the given dataset and it is high when compared to the existing algorithms. 相似文献

This paper presents expressions for the cutoff rate R 0diversity transmission over the Rayleigh and Rician fading channels with M-ary orthogonal signaling. These expressions include the unquantized R 0for D-fold diversity, which upper bounds the channel performance, and hard decision and four- and eight-level soft decision quantized R 0expressions. Tradeoffs between Dand the number of quantization levels for equivalent performance are presented for the unquantized and quantized channels. The symbol-error rate (SER) of a quadrature subbranch hybrid selection/maximal-ratio combining (QBHS/MRC) scheme for 1-D modulations in Rayleigh fading is examined. At the receiver, N diversity branches are split into 2N in-phase and quadrature subbranches. Traditional hybrid selection/maximal-ratio combining (H-S/MRC) is then applied over the 2N subbranches. M-ary pulse amplitude modulation, including coherent binary phase-shift keying, with QBHS/MRC is studied. The SER performances of QBHS/MRC and H-S/MRC are compared. In this paper, we tackle the problem of theoretical evaluation for the multistage parallel interference cancellation (PIC) scheme in a direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) system with orthogonal modulation and long scrambling codes. The studied system operates on the reverse link in a time varying multipath Rayleigh fading channel. By applying the Central Limit Theorem and some other approximations to multiple access interference (MAI) and intersymbol interference (ISI), as well as assuming identically distributed chips from a single interferer, the bit error rate (BER) performance of the PIC scheme at any stage can be recursively computed from the signal-to-noise ratio, number of users, the number of path per user, processing gain of the CDMA system, and the average received power of each path. For completeness, the BER expression is derived for chip synchronous and chip asynchronous systems over both equal and unequal power multipath channels. The proposed analysis is validated by the Monte Carlo simulations and proved to be reasonably accurate, and it gives insight into the performance and capacity one can expect from PIC-based receivers under different situations. For instance, the analytical results can be used to examine the convergence property, multipath diversity gains, and near-far resistance of the PIC scheme. 相似文献

This paper presents the measured performance of a 64 kbit/s switched-diversity FSK receiver subjected to simulated frequency-selective Rayleigh fading. The single receiver input is switched between two, three, or four uncorrelated Rayleigh-fading signals whenever the instantaneous receiver output falls below a threshold. The optimum level of this threshold relative to the mean signal level is relatively insensitive to frequency selectivity and vehicle speed. A nearly optimum threshold may be determined using an AGC amplifier and fixed comparator. Switched diversity is a powerful tool for combating frequency selectivity and Rayleigh fading. Two-branch switched diversity can achieve 10 -2BER, with 6 dB lower SNR than that needed without diversity. In the absence of frequency selectivity, two-branch switched diversity can perform within 3 dB SNR of maximal-ratio diversity and within 1 dB of selection diversity. Switched diversity can achieve BER's lower than the irreducible single-channel BER produced by frequency selectivity. Four-branch switched diversity typically requires 4 dB lower SNR to achieve a given BER than does two-branch switched diversity. 相似文献

Employing a cross-layer approach, the explicit relationships between the fading channel characteristics and the significant teletraffic variables as well as the performance metrics in wireless network evaluation are formulated. In particular, the channel holding time, handoff probability, handoff call arrival rate, call blocking probability, call completion probability, and forced termination probability are developed, taking into account the carrier frequency (or equivalently wavelength), maximum Doppler frequency, and fade margin. In addition, the set of formulas are derived with the generalized assumptions for the call holding time and cell residence time. The analytical model has been validated by the simulation with the conventional exponential model and, additionally, the relaxed models for call holding time and cell residence time, e.g., Erlang and hyper-Erlang. The comparison demonstrates that the traditional result without considering the fading channel characteristics leads to substantially overestimated call blocking probability and call completion probability. The methodology presented in this paper provides a feasible manner for the wireless network cross-layer design and optimization. 相似文献

A binary direct-sequence spread-spectrum multiple-access system with random sequences in flat Rayleigh fading is considered. A new explicit closed-form expression is obtained for the characteristic function of the multiple-access interference signals. It is shown that the overall error rate can be expressed by a single integral whose integrand is nonnegative and exponentially decaying. Bit-error rates (BERs) are obtained with this expression to any desired accuracy with minimal computational complexity. The dependence of the system BER on the number of transitions in the target user signature chip sequence is explicitly derived.
