Despite the well-known potential and performance of combined biological and ozonation processes for wastewater treatment, only few full-scale applications are published. Beside the synergistic effects of such process combination, which lead to oxidation of recalcitrant and inhibitory compounds or intermediates by enhancement of their biodegradability, the key for raising applicability is the improvement of the ozonation efficiency. An overview about the history and progress of full-scale applications, which deals with combined ozonation and biological treatment is given. Recently more than 40 applications exist, but many of them are not published. Therefore, a couple of selected not yet published applications have been mentioned in this paper. Landfill leachate and industrial wastewater treatment were mostly applicated, while treatment of municial wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) effluents are of increasing interest due to several advantages such as disinfection, decolourisation and removal of persistent dissolved organic carbon (DOC) for water re-use and groundwater recharge.  相似文献

This review paper presents an overview of simulation-based hydrodynamic design optimization of ship hull forms. A computational tool that is aimed to accomplishing early-stage simulation-based design in terms of hydrodynamic performance is discussed in detail. The main components of this computational tool consist of a hydrodynamic module, a hull surface modeling module, and an optimization module. The hydrodynamic module includes both design-oriented simple CFD tools and high-fidelity CFD tools. These integrated CFD tools are used for evaluating hydrodynamic performances at different design stages. The hull surface modeling module includes various techniques for ship hull surface representation and modification. This module is used to automatically produce hull forms or modify existing hull forms in terms of hydrodynamic performance and design constraints. The optimization module includes various optimization algorithms and surrogate models, which are used to determine optimal designs in terms of given hydrodynamic performance. As an illustration of the computational tool, a Series 60 hull is optimized for reduced drag using three different modification strategies to outline the specific procedure for conducting simulation-based hydrodynamic design of ship hull forms using the present tool. Numerical results show that the present tool is well suited for the hull form design optimization at early design stage because it can produce effective optimal designs within a short period of time.  相似文献

This paper reviews the operation of storm reed beds to determine whether the current system of operational maintenance is contributing to premature process failures and if not, to identify other factors of importance. Twelve storm reed beds of the horizontal subsurface flow type, at seven locations in the South Warwickshire area of the United Kingdom, were surveyed. Each survey consisted of a site visit, an interview with the operators in charge and an assessment of the treatment performance based on routine monitoring data. Although some sites suffered from varying degrees of sludge accumulation, surface blinding and/or weed growth, all effluent concentrations remained far below the consent levels. Thorough operational maintenance on a reed bed is proven to be important for the asset life. However, there are other factors or features of a reed bed that play a more pivotal role in premature process failure such as the lack of pretreatment and a premature operation of the storm overflow.  相似文献

This paper describes the background and methodology of the British Trust for Ornithology's Waterways Bird Survey. The scheme aims to produce breeding population indices for a range of riparian species based on survey work carried out annually at over 100 sites throughout Britain and Ireland. Habitat data are collected at each site which allow assessments to be made of factors affecting both the numbers and distribution of particular species. The effects of habitat changes can also be investigated. The scheme is illustrated with reference to population trends for coot (scientific names of species in the text are given in Table I) and yellow wagtail. The results of habitat studies are discussed for moorhen. This shows that densities reach a maximum on canal sites, and that on sections of the River Ouzel, Bedfordshire and Grand Union Canal, Buckinghamshire, populations were adversely affected by dredging and regrading operations.  相似文献

The endeavour towards a sustainable society has led to an interest in the recovery and recirculation or reuse of phosphorus from wastewater among environmentalists and politicians. In a recent interdisciplinary investigation commissioned by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, an attempt was made to evaluate different possibilities to recover phosphorus from wastewater or its fractions; systems based on source separation of urine or of combined toilet wastes, on the extraction of phosphorus from sludge, from ashes after incineration of sludge or from wastewater as well as the direct recirculation of hygienised digested and dewatered sludge were studied. Aspects like technology, environmental effects, resource economy, economy, markets, organisational aspects and user aspects were studied. In this overview the potential and possibility to recover and recirculate phosphorus from wastewater is discussed, mainly based on the findings in this investigation.  相似文献

蒸散发是流域水循环和能量循环的重要环节,准确估算蒸散发对流域水循环研究具有重要意义,同时也可以为流域水资源优化配置和可持续利用提供支撑。利用汉江流域观测的逐月降水数据、径流数据以及重力卫星(GRACE)反演的流域蓄水量变化数据计算水量平衡蒸散发(ET_WB),以ET_WB为标准在月尺度上评估4类9种不同蒸散发产品(陆面模式产品ET_clm、ET_noah、ET_mos、ET_vic;再分析数据产品ET_jra;基于模型树集的通量观测产品ET_jung和基于能量平衡的诊断模型产品ET_modis、ET_PML、ET_Zhangke)在汉江流域的适用性。结果表明基于模型树集的通量观测产品和基于能量平衡的诊断模型产品精度较好,再分析产品次之,陆面模式产品(除ET_clm)较差。ET_jung、ET_modis和ET_clm在月尺度上与ET_WB有着较好的相关性,结果误差相对较小;ET_noah、ET_mos、ET_vic结果误差相对较大。该研究结果可以为汉江流域水循环研究和南水北调中线工程管理提供科学参考。  相似文献

为了对全球气候变化背景下的海堤安全提供参考,回顾了波浪溢流研究的发展历程,从波浪溢流引起的越堤流量、内坡水流特征、越堤水流紊动特征等方面对波浪溢流相关的最新研究成果进行综述,认为波浪溢流的基本水力学参数均能够较为合理地计算得出。在此基础上分析了溢流、越浪、波浪溢流的等价性,指出了下一步需要针对波浪溢流区别于越浪的水动力特征及其对海堤作用与越浪对海堤作用的异同开展研究,为海堤的设计、评估和加固提供依据。  相似文献

从IMERG、DPR和水文模拟3方面综述了GPM降水产品的评估工作。GPM降水产品在复杂地形和高海拔地区均表现不佳,甚至出现不可靠的情况,还存在明显的季节差异性,主要表现为夏秋两季的表现较好,春冬两季表现相对较差。指出GPM对微量降水、固态降水和极端降水的观测还需进一步的完善,未来的卫星降水评估工作应从传感器层面上展开。  相似文献
