A multi-component NO x-trap catalyst consisting of Pt and K supported on γ-Al 2O 3 was studied at 250 °C to determine the roles of the individual catalyst components, to identify the adsorbing species during the lean capture cycle, and to assess the effects of H 2O and CO 2 on NO x storage. The Al 2O 3 support was shown to have NO x trapping capability with and without Pt present (at 250 °C Pt/Al 2O 3 adsorbs 2.3 μmols NO x/m 2). NO x is primarily trapped on Al 2O 3 in the form of nitrates with monodentate, chelating and bridged forms apparent in Diffuse Reflectance mid-Infrared Fourier Transform Spectroscopy (DRIFTS) analysis. The addition of K to the catalyst increases the adsorption capacity to 6.2 μmols NO x/m 2, and the primary storage form on K is a free nitrate ion. Quantitative DRIFTS analysis shows that 12% of the nitrates on a Pt/K/Al 2O 3 catalyst are coordinated on the Al 2O 3 support at saturation. When 5% CO2 was included in a feed stream with 300 ppm NO and 12% O2, the amount of K-based nitrate storage decreased by 45% after 1 h on stream due to the competition of adsorbed free nitrates with carboxylates for adsorption sites. When 5% H2O was included in a feed stream with 300 ppm NO and 12% O2, the amount of K-based nitrate storage decreased by only 16% after 1 h, but the Al2O3-based nitrates decreased by 92%. Interestingly, with both 5% CO2 and 5% H2O in the feed, the total storage only decreased by 11%, as the hydroxyl groups generated on Al2O3 destabilized the K–CO2 bond; specifically, H2O mitigates the NOx storage capacity losses associated with carboxylate competition. 相似文献

A mean field model, for storage and desorption of NO x in a Pt/BaO/Al 2O 3 catalyst is developed using data from flow reactor experiments. This relatively complex system is divided into five smaller sub-systems and the model is divided into the following steps: (i) NO oxidation on Pt/Al 2O 3; (ii) NO oxidation on Pt/BaO/Al 2O 3; (iii) NO x storage on BaO/Al 2O 3; (iv) NO x storage on Pt/BaO/Al 2O 3 with thermal regeneration and (v) NO x storage on Pt/BaO/Al 2O 3 with regeneration using C 3H 6. In this paper, we focus on the last sub-system. The kinetic model for NO x storage on Pt/BaO/Al 2O 3 was constructed with kinetic parameters obtained from the NO oxidation model together with a NO x storage model on BaO/Al 2O 3. This model was not sufficient to describe the NO x storage experiments for the Pt/BaO/Al 2O 3, because the NO x desorption in TPD experiments was larger for Pt/BaO/Al 2O 3, compared to BaO/Al 2O 3. The model was therefore modified by adding a reversible spill-over step. Further, the model was validated with additional experiments, which showed that NO significantly promoted desorption of NO x from Pt/BaO/Al 2O 3. To this NO x storage model, additional steps were added to describe the reduction by hydrocarbon in experiments with NO 2 and C 3H 6. The main reactions for continuous reduction of NO x occurs on Pt by reactions between hydrocarbon species and NO in the model. The model is also able to describe the reduction phase, the storage and NO breakthrough peaks, observed in experiments. 相似文献

Layered -titanate materials, Na xM x/2Ti 1−x/2O 2 (M=Co, Ni and Fe, x=0.2–0.4), were synthesized by flux reactions, and electrical properties of polycrystalline products were measured at 300–800 °C. After sintering at 1250 °C in Ar, all products show n-type thermoelectric behavior. The values of both d.c. conductivity and Seebeck coefficient of polycrystalline Na 0.4Ni 0.2Ti 0.8O 2 were ca. 7×10 3 S/m and ca. −193 μV/K around 700 °C, respectively. The measured thermal conductivity of layered -titanate materials has lower value than conductive oxide materials. It was ca. 1.5 Wm −1 K −1 at 800 °C. The estimated thermoelectric figure-of-merit, Z, of Na 0.4Ni 0.2Ti 0.8O 2 and Na 0.4Co 0.2Ti 0.8O 2 was about 1.9×10 −4 and 1.2×10 −4 K −1 around 700 °C, respectively. 相似文献

Several hexaaluminate-related materials were prepared via hydrolysis of alkoxide and powder mixing method for high temperature combustion of CH 4 and C 3H 8, in order to investigate the effect of the concentration of the fuels, O 2 and H 2O on NO x emission and combustion characteristics. Among the hexaaluminate catalysts, Sr 0.8La 0.2MnAl 11O 19− prepared by the alkoxide method exhibited the highest activity for methane combustion and low NO x emission capability. NO x emission at 1500 °C was increased linearly with O 2 concentration, whereas water vapor addition decreased NO x emission in CH 4 combustion over the Sr 0.8La 0.2MnAl 11O 19− catalyst. In the catalytic combustion of C 3H 8 over the Sr 0.8La 0.2MnAl 11O 19− catalyst, the amount of NO x emitted was raised in the temperature range between 1000 and 1500 °C when the C 3H 8 concentration increased from 1 to 2 vol.%. It was found that NO x emission in this temperature range was reduced effectively by adding water vapor. 相似文献

A method to quantify DRIFT spectral features associated with the in situ adsorption of gases on a NO x adsorber catalyst, Pt/K/Al 2O 3, is described. To implement this method, the multicomponent catalyst is analysed with DRIFT and chemisorption to determine that under operating conditions the surface comprised a Pt phase, a pure γ-Al 2O 3 phase with associated hydroxyl groups at the surface, and an alkalized-Al 2O 3 phase where the surface –OH groups are replaced by –OK groups. Both DRIFTS and chemisorption experiments show that 93–97% of the potassium exists in this form. The phases have a fractional surface area of 1.1% for the 1.7 nm-sized Pt, 34% for pure Al 2O 3 and 65% for the alkalized-Al 2O 3. NO 2 and CO 2 chemisorption at 250 °C is implemented to determine the saturation uptake value, which is observed with DRIFTS at 250 °C. Pt/Al 2O 3 adsorbs 0.087 μmol CO 2/m 2and 2.0 μmol NO 2/m 2, and Pt/K/Al 2O 3 adsorbs 2.0 μmol CO 2/m 2and 6.4 μmol NO 2/m 2. This method can be implemented to quantitatively monitor the formation of carboxylates and nitrates on Pt/K/Al 2O 3 during both lean and rich periods of the NO x adsorber catalyst cycle. 相似文献

Diffusion of ammonia and ammonium ions in sulphonic acid cation exchangers (gel Purolite SGC 100 × 10 MBH and macroporous Purolite C 160 MBH) from the solutions, representing the composition of “caustic condensate” (waste of nitrogen fertilizers production) is affected by pH of initial solution and structure of the matrix of cation exchanger. In gel matrix the effective intraparticle diffusivity ( Def) depends greatly on the solution pH because of shrinkage in alkaline and swelling in acidic medium: on decreasing the initial concentration of ammonia from 0.214 to 0.003 and increasing that of ammonium nitrate from 0 to 0.214 mol l −1 instead, the effect of ion exchange leads to a decrease in pH, resulting in swelling and increase in Def from 0.1 to 0.34 × 10 −10 for gel Purolite SGC 100 × 10 MBH and variation of 0.18–0.11 × 10 −10 m 2 s −1 for macroporous Purolite C 160 MBH (resistant to shrinkage and swelling). In Purolite C 160 MBH both macropore diffusivity (0.07–0.29 × 10−10 m2 s−1) and gel (solid phase) diffusivity (0.06–0.19 × 10−10 m2 s−1) are higher than micropore diffusivity (0.28–0.56 × 10−18 m2 s−1). With respect to the effective intraparticle diffusivity, resistance to nitric acid, used for the regeneration, and high concentration of ammonium nitrate in eluate (up to 110 g l−1), Purolite C 160 MBH has been installed for the conversion of ammonia and ammonium ions to ammonium nitrate reusable in the fertilizers production. This allows minimizing the economic loss and preventing the environmental contamination. 相似文献

Mixed oxides of the general formula La 0.5Sr xCe yFeO z were prepared by using the nitrate method and characterized by XRD and Mössbauer techniques. The crystal phases detected were perovskites LaFeO 3 and SrFeO 3−x and oxides -Fe 2O 3 and CeO 2 depending on x and y values. The low surface area ceramic materials have been tested for the NO+CO and NO+CH 4+O 2 (“lean-NO x”) reactions in the temperature range 250–550°C. A noticeable enhancement in NO conversion was achieved by the substitution of La 3+ cation at A-site with divalent Sr +2 and tetravalent Ce +4 cations. Comparison of the activity of the present and other perovskite-type materials has pointed out that the ability of the La 0.5Sr xCe yFeO z materials to reduce NO by CO or by CH 4 under “lean-NO x” conditions is very satisfying. In particular, for the NO+CO reaction estimation of turnover frequencies (TOFs, s −1) at 300°C (based on NO chemisorption) revealed values comparable to Rh/-Al 2O 3 catalyst. This is an important result considering the current tendency for replacing the very active but expensive Rh and Pt metals. It was found that there is a direct correlation between the percentage of crystal phases containing iron in La 0.5Sr xCe yFeO z solids and their catalytic activity. O 2 TPD (temperature-programmed desorption) and NO TPD studies confirmed that the catalytic activity for both tested reactions is related to the defect positions in the lattice of the catalysts (e.g., oxygen vacancies, cationic defects). Additionally, a remarkable oscillatory behavior during O 2 TPD studies was observed for the La 0.5Sr 0.2Ce 0.3FeO z and La 0.5Sr 0.5FeO z solids. 相似文献

A quaternary catalyst library of 56 samples comprising all combinations of four elements, viz. Ag, Co, Cu, In, with six equally spaced atomic fraction increments from 0 to 1 was prepared by impregnation of a proprietary mesoporous alumina support. Catalytic properties of the library were tested in the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO x by propane under lean conditions in the temperature range 400–500 °C. The catalytic data acquired by a parallel 64-channel microreactor system with automated time-of-flight mass spectrometric analysis have been evaluated regarding selectivity–compositional relationships, synergistic effects for NO x conversion, and efficiency of propane utilization. Full conversion of NO x is achieved over Ag–Co combinations at 450 °C with N 2 selectivities of more than 90% and reductant utilization of 20% in a feed of 1500 ppm NO, 1500 ppm propane and 5 vol.% O 2 (space velocity of 36,000 cm 3 g cat−1 h −1). For the single-component catalysts Ag/Al 2O 3, Co/Al 2O 3, Cu/Al 2O 3, and In/Al 2O 3, the state of the elements on the mesoporous alumina was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Cobalt forms a spinel-like cobalt aluminate phase whereas copper and indium are present as oxides with small sizes not detectable by XRD. Silver occurs in both metallic state and as Ag 2O, and forms Ag n clusters of at least two different sizes, predominantly with diameters of about 30 nm. The conclusions are consistent with the reducibility of the single-component catalysts samples by H 2. Surface area measurements and pore size distributions revealed reasonable modifications of the textural properties. The main pore size of the alumina support is decreased from 7 to ca. 5 nm after loading of the active components. 相似文献

Mn/MFI catalysts were prepared by different methods and probed as catalysts for the catalytic reduction of NO x with CH 4 or iso-butane in a gas flow containing excess O 2. Mn/MFI with high manganese loading was obtained by solid state ion exchange (SSI). The intensity of an IR band at 957 cm −1, which is due to the perturbation of zeolite lattice vibrations by Mn ions attached to cage walls is proportional to the Mn content of the catalysts. Conversely, the intensity of the 3610 cm −1 band, assigned to Brønsted acid sites decreases linearly with the Mn loading. A catalyst obtained by exchanging Na/MFI with an aqueous solution of Mn acetate is found most active for NO x reduction with methane. Transport by surface diffusion of Mn ions from MnI 2 to exchange positions in MFI is more efficient than their transport through the gas phase. High NO conversion over proton-free catalysts indicates that protons are not instrumental in NO x reduction over Mn/MFI. 相似文献

The use of hydrogen peroxide (H 2O 2) for improved photocatalytic degradation of phenol in aqueous suspension of commercial TiO 2 powders (Degussa P-25) was investigated. Photodegradation was compared using direct photolysis (UV alone), H 2O 2/UV, TiO 2/UV, and H 2O 2/TiO 2/UV processes in a batch reactor with high-pressure mercury lamp irradiation. The effects of operating parameters such as catalyst dosage, light intensity, pH of the solution, the initial phenol, and H 2O 2 concentrations on photodegradation process were examined. It was shown that photodegradation using H 2O 2/TiO 2/UV process was much more effective than using either H 2O 2/UV or TiO 2/UV process. The effect of the initial phenol concentration on TOC removal was also studied, demonstrating that more than 8 h was required to completely mineralize phenol into water and carbon dioxide. For all the four oxidation processes studied, photodegradation followed the first-order kinetics. The apparent rate constants with 400-W UV ranged from 5.0 × 10 −4 min −1 by direct photolysis to 1.4 × 10 −2 min −1 using H 2O 2/TiO 2/UV process. The role of H 2O 2 on such enhanced photodegradation of phenol in aqueous solution was finally discussed. 相似文献

Catalytic performance of Sn/Al 2O 3 catalysts prepared by impregnation (IM) and sol–gel (SG) method for selective catalytic reduction of NO x by propene under lean burn condition were investigated. The physical properties of catalyst were characterized by BET, XRD, XPS and TPD. The results showed that NO 2 had higher reactivity than NO to nitrogen, the maximum NO conversion was 82% on the 5% Sn/Al 2O 3 (SG) catalyst, and the maximum NO 2 conversion reached nearly 100% around 425 °C. Such a temperature of maximum NO conversion was in accordance with those of NO x desorption accompanied with O 2 around 450 °C. The activity of NO reduction was enhanced remarkably by the presence of H 2O and SO 2 at low temperature, and the temperature window was also broadened in the presence of H 2O and SO 2, however the NO x desorption and NO conversion decreased sharply on the 300 ppm SO 2 treated catalyst, the catalytic activity was inhibited by the presence of SO 2 due to formation of sulfate species (SO 42−) on the catalysts. The presence of oxygen played an essential role in NO reduction, and the activity of the 5% Sn/Al 2O 3 (SG) was not decreased in the presence of large oxygen. 相似文献

-Alumina-supported MFI zeolite membranes were modified by on-stream catalytic thermal cracking of methyldiethoxysilane (MDES) molecules inside the zeolitic channels during the separation of H 2/CO 2 gas mixture at 450 °C and atmospheric pressure. The MDES vapor was carried by the H 2/CO 2 feed gas and the effect of modification was monitored continuously through online analysis of the permeate stream. The modified membrane exhibited a significant increase in H 2 selectivity over CO 2 with a moderate decrease in H 2 permeance. At 450 °C, the modified MFI membrane obtained a H 2/CO 2 permselectivity of 17.5 with H 2 single gas permeance of 1.86 × 10 −7 mol m −2 s −1 Pa −1 as compared to a permselectivity of 2.78 and permeance of 2.75 × 10 −7 mol m −2 s −1 Pa −1 for the membrane before modification. The modified membrane also showed good performance and stability in separation of H 2/CO 2 gas mixture containing up to 28.4% water vapor at 450 °C and atmospheric pressure. 相似文献

Separation properties of a mordenite membrane for water–methanol–hydrogen mixtures were studied in the temperature range from 423 to 523 K under pressurized conditions. The mordenite membrane was prepared on the outer surface of a porous alumina tubular support by a secondary-growth method. It was found that water was selectively permeated through the membrane. The separation factor of water/hydrogen and water/methanol were 49–156 and 73–101, respectively. Even when only hydrogen was fed at 0.5 MPa, its permeance was as low as 10 −9 mol m −2 s −1 Pa −1 up to 493 K, possibly suggesting that water pre-adsorbed in the micropores of mordenite hindered the permeation of hydrogen. The hydrogen permeance dramatically increased to 6.5 × 10 −7 mol m −2 s −1 Pa −1 at 503 K and reached to 1.4 × 10 −6 mol m −2 s −1 Pa −1 at 523 K because of the formation of cracks in the membrane. However, the membrane was thermally stabilized in the presence of steam and/or methanol. 相似文献

Direct nitric oxide decomposition over perovskites is fairly slow and complex, its mechanism changing dramatically with temperature. Previous kinetic study for three representative compositions (La 0.87Sr 0.13Mn 0.2Ni 0.8O 3−δ, La 0.66Sr 0.34Ni 0.3Co 0.7O 3−δ and La 0.8Sr 0.2Cu 0.15Fe 0.85O 3−δ) has shown that depending on the temperature range, the inhibition effect of oxygen either increases or decreases with temperature. This paper deals with the effect of CO 2, H 2O and CH 4 on the nitric oxide decomposition over the same perovskites studied at a steady-state in a plug-flow reactor with 1 g catalyst and total flowrates of 50 or 100 ml/min of 2 or 5% NO. The effect of carbon dioxide (0.5–10%) was evaluated between 873 and 923 K, whereas that of H 2O vapor (1.6 or 2.5%) from 723 to 923 K. Both CO 2 and H 2O inhibit the NO decomposition, but inhibition by CO 2 is considerably stronger. For all three catalysts, these effects increase with temperature. Kinetic parameters for the inhibiting effects of CO 2 and H 2O over the three perovskites were determined. Addition of methane to the feed (NO/CH 4=4) increases conversion of NO to N 2 about two to four times, depending on the initial NO concentration and on temperature. This, however, is still much too low for practical applications. Furthermore, the rates of methane oxidation by nitric oxide over perovskites are substantially slower than those of methane oxidation by oxygen. Thus, perovskites do not seem to be suitable for catalytic selective NO reduction with methane. 相似文献

The release and reduction of NO x in a NO x storage-reduction (NSR) catalyst were studied with a transient reaction analysis in the millisecond range, which was made possible by the combination of pulsed injection of gases and time resolved time-of-flight mass spectrometry. After an O 2 pulse and a subsequent NO pulse were injected into a pellet of the Pt/Ba/Al 2O 3 catalyst, the time profiles of several gas products, NO, N 2, NH 3 and H 2O, were obtained as a result of the release and reduction of NO x caused by H 2 injection. Comparing the time profiles in another analysis, which were obtained using a model catalyst consisting of a flat 5 nmPt/Ba(NO 3) 2/cordierite plate, the release and reduction of NO x on Pt/Ba/Al 2O 3 catalyst that stored NO x took the following two steps; in the first step NO molecules were released from Ba and in the second step the released NO was reduced into N 2 by H 2 pulse injection. When this H 2 pulse was injected in a large amount, NO was reduced to NH 3 instead of N 2. A only small amount of H2O was detected because of the strong affinity for alumina support. We can analyze the NOx regeneration process to separate two steps of the NOx release and reduction by a detailed analysis of the time profiles using a two-step reaction model. From the result of the analysis, it is found that the rate constant for NOx release increased as temperature increase. 相似文献

Dispersing La 2O 3 on δ- or γ-Al 2O 3 significantly enhances the rate of NO reduction by CH 4 in 1% O 2, compared to unsupported La 2O 3. Typically, no bend-over in activity occurs between 500° and 700°C, and the rate at 700°C is 60% higher than that with a Co/ZSM-5 catalyst. The final activity was dependent upon the La 2O 3 precursor used, the pretreatment, and the La 2O 3 loading. The most active family of catalysts consisted of La 2O 3 on γ-Al 2O 3 prepared with lanthanum acetate and calcined at 750°C for 10 h. A maximum in rate (mol/s/g) and specific activity (mol/s/m 2) occurred between the addition of one and two theoretical monolayers of La 2O 3 on the γ-Al 2O 3 surface. The best catalyst, 40% La 2O 3/γ-Al 2O 3, had a turnover frequency at 700°C of 0.05 s −1, based on NO chemisorption at 25°C, which was 15 times higher than that for Co/ZSM-5. These La 2O 3/Al 2O 3 catalysts exhibited stable activity under high conversion conditions as well as high CH 4 selectivity (CH 4 + NO vs. CH 4 + O 2). The addition of Sr to a 20% La 2O 3/γ-Al 2O 3 sample increased activity, and a maximum rate enhancement of 45% was obtained at a SrO loading of 5%. In contrast, addition of SO =4 to the latter Sr-promoted La 2O 3/Al 2O 3 catalyst decreased activity although sulfate increased the activity of Sr-promoted La 2O 3. Dispersing La 2O 3 on SiO 2 produced catalysts with extremely low specific activities, and rates were even lower than with pure La 2O 3. This is presumably due to water sensitivity and silicate formation. The La 2O 3/Al 2O 3 catalysts are anticipated to show sufficient hydrothermal stability to allow their use in certain high-temperature applications. 相似文献

The kinetics of the three-phase methanol synthesis over a commercial Cu–Zn–Al 2O 3 catalyst were studied in an apolar solvent, squalane and a polar solvent, tetraethylene glycol dimethylether (TEGDME). Experimental conditions were varied as follows: P=3.0–5.3 MPa, T=488–533 K and Φ vG/ w=7.5×10 −3–8×10 −3 Nm 3 s −1kg −1cat. The nature of the slurry–liquid influences the activation energy and the kinetic rate constant by interaction between adsorbed species and solvent and by competitive adsorption of the solvent on the catalyst surface. The rate of reaction to methanol observed in TEGDME appeared to be about 10 times lower than in squalane. TEGDME reduces the reaction rate, which is a disadvantage for its use as a solvent. 相似文献

Nitrous and nitric acids form in aqueous solutions exposed to a gliding arc discharge burning in humid air. The anions interfere when the concentration of particular solutes such as pollutants must be determined. In particular they falsify the COD measurements and spectral investigations and thus the efficiency of the plasma treatment in pollutant abatement. The nitrite anions must be thus removed, which require specific reagents. The influence of parameters such as solution pH and [reducers]/[NO 2−] ratio on the reduction reaction was evaluated. The reduction of nitrite into N 2 either by sulfamic acid or sodium azide is a first-order pH-dependant reaction with regard to nitrite and reducers ( k1 = 2.93 × 10 −1 m 3 kmol −1 s −1; k2 = 6.21 × 10 −1 m 3 kmol −1 s −1, respectively). Sodium azide is thus more reactive than sulfamic acid. 相似文献

Characteristics of MnO y–ZrO 2 and Pt–ZrO 2–Al 2O 3 as reversible sorbents of NO x were investigated under dynamic changes in atmosphere. These sorbents can be used reversibly with a change of C 3H 8 concentration in the reaction gases. Catalytic reduction of NO occurred in the presence of propane, which was more pronounced on Pt–ZrO 2–Al 2O 3 than on MnO y-ZrO 2 due to high activity of Pt surface for this reaction on MnO y in MnO y–ZrO 2. The sorption was observed as soon as the atmosphere changed from a reducing to an oxidizing one. This implies that a high equilibrium partial pressure of O 2 is necessary for NO uptake since the sorbed NO−3 species becomes stable. The beginning of NO x desorption atmospheres was somewhat dependent on the amount of stored NO x. The presence of propane in the gas phase strongly affected the characteristic sorption and desorption properties of MnO y–ZrO 2 and Pt–ZrO 2–Al 2O 3. The sorption and desorption properties are different for MnO y–ZrO 2 and Pt–ZrO 2–Al 2O 3, since the noble metal or metal oxide possesses unique activity for the NO reaction with C 3H 8 and the amount of oxygen available for oxidative sorption of NO. 相似文献

The reduction of NO x by hydrogen under lean burn conditions over Pt/Al 2O 3 is strongly poisoned by carbon monoxide. This is due to the strong adsorption and subsequent high coverage of CO, which significantly increases the temperature required to initiate the reaction. Even relatively small concentrations of CO dramatically reduce the maximum NO x conversions achievable. In contrast, the presence of CO has a pronounced promoting influence in the case of Pd/Al 2O 3. In this case, although pure H 2 and pure CO are ineffective for NO x reduction under lean burn conditions, H 2/CO mixtures are very effective. With a realistic (1:3) H 2:CO ratio, typical of actual exhaust gas, Pd/Al 2O 3 is significantly more active than Pt/Al 2O 3, delivering 45% NO x conversion at 160 °C, compared to >15% for Pt/Al 2O 3 under identical conditions. The nature of the support is also critically important, with Pd/Al 2O 3 being much more active than Pd/SiO 2. Possible mechanisms for the improved performance of Pd/Al 2O 3 in the presence of H 2+CO are discussed. 相似文献
