Abstract： The comprehensive properties of polybutene were simply described and the current situation of polybutene were introduced. The features, the advantages and disadvantages in domestic development, the source of raw material of polybutene pipes were reviewed in this paper. Basell and Mitsui are the only two companies in the world utilizing Ziegler-Natta catalyst to produce polybutene, and there is no commercial polybutene production plant in China.
