Recent advances in multimedia processing technologies, internet‐working technologies, and the World Wide Web phenomenon have resulted in a vast creation and use of digital videos. Due to this reason, an efficient technique to locate and retrieve a desired video from a remote video archive is needed. A trial‐and‐error approach popularly used in current Web search engines is not applicable for searching for a desired video segment since the technique incurs intolerable delays. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of a video browsing system that lets the user view a summary of a selected video and search within the video while being downloaded so that the user can determine the relevance of the video as early as possible. The system is inexpensive and scalable, making it suitable for large‐scale distributed systems such as the Internet. The browsing system consists of two major software components: a video server, and a video browser and player called VideoCenter implemented using Microsoft DirectShow multimedia development kit. The implementation of VideoCenter enables us to assess the ease of use of DirectShow as well as its drawbacks in developing multimedia applications. Copyright © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

The design and implementation of a general purpose graphics software package (GINO) is described. GINO provides facilities for 3D graphics (co-ordinate transformation, clipping, intensity modulation) but is organized so that 2D facilities form a clean subset. It is device independent, permitting use of refresh CRT displays, storage tube displays and plotters. A characteristic feature is the use of small satellite computers attached to a large multiaccess computer (ATLAS 2) GINO takes the form of a subroutine library accessible from FORTRAN and other languages, and the case for this level of graphics software is argued. The reasons for not using a mandatory graphical data structure are also discussed. GINO is not biased towards any particular style of interaction, but two techniques are described; one based on the light pen and the other on teletype command languages Efficiency of implementation is achieved without loss of flexibility by use of a systems programming language (SAL). 相似文献

为了保障地下矿山工作人员的安全,服务于矿山实际生产的需要,在数据处理和系统界定的基础上研究了矿井通风原理,并建立了通风网路、通风动力和通风控制设施等通风系统模型.结合计算机仿真和计算机网络技术,提出了一套基于网络的三维可视化仿真技术体系,设计并实现了以B/S结构为平台的矿井通风网络三维可视化仿真系统.并以某地下矿山为实例进行了通风系统建模与仿真的验证,结果能够反映矿山井巷工程的三维空间位置及拓扑关系,符合矿山通风系统正常运行状况,可为通风系统的计算机辅助设计及采矿计划的制定提供参考. 相似文献

The Virtual Realty Modeling Language sets an open-standard file format for designing 3D multimedia and shared virtual worlds on the Internet. VRML was originally designed to support the interaction of multiple participants in the World Wide Web environment, that is, to network virtual worlds via hyperlinks. The development of VRML has spurred broad research on distributed multiuser VR systems. We describe SharedWeb, a 3D Web browsing system that was designed and implemented to support interaction among clients in the existing Web environment. We begin by describing the methodologies and mechanisms used to achieve seamless integration with the Web environment, then we summarize the SharedWeb system implementation. We present some experimental results that show the effects of different frame rates and threshold values on system performance, and conclude with discussions of two virtual worlds currently supported by the system 相似文献

针对3D图形流水线像素处理后期的实时大批量数据处理和存储器读写要求,以及嵌入式系统资源和功耗的特殊性,给出一种像素处理后期的硬件设计方案。设计首先实现所有测试功能,确保各种效果,其次采用了基于屏幕分割渲染的设计思想,减少存储器需求,然后吸收了Early Z算法,尽早抛弃不可见的三角面信息,减少渲染的数据,最后实现了Flip Quad反走样算法,提高图像的质量。模块已经完成了RTL级建模,并在FPGA上通过验证。 相似文献

随着物联网的发展,轻量级分组密码算法的设计显得尤为重要。S盒是对称密码算法的关键部件。许多加密算法的硬件实现过程易受侧信道攻击,门限实现是一种基于秘密共享和多方计算的侧信道攻击对策。通过简单地对三次布尔函数中的变量进行循环移位,构建密码性质最优的4×4安全轻量S盒,并且为所构造的S盒设计了门限实现方案来抵御侧信道攻击,该方案是可证安全的。该方法构造的S盒的四个分量函数的实现电路相同,极大地降低了硬件实现的复杂度。给定S盒的一个分量,其余的三个分量可通过该分量的循环移位获得,这样大大降低硬件实现成本,易于快速软件实现。 相似文献

To respond quickly to the rapidly changing manufacturing environment, it is imperative for the system to have such capabilities as flexibility, adaptability, and reusability. The fractal manufacturing system (FrMS) is a new manufacturing paradigm designed to meet these requirements. To facilitate a dynamic reconfiguration of system elements (i.e., fractals), agents as well as software modules should be self-reconfigurable. Embodiment of a self-reconfigurable manufacturing system can be achieved by using self-reconfigurable software architecture. In this paper, therefore, self-reconfigurable software architecture is designed by conducting the following studies: (1) analysis of functional requirements of a fractal and environmental constraints, (2) design of reconfigurable software architecture especially for a reconfigurable agent, (3) selection of proper techniques to implement software modules, and realization of software architecture equipped with self-reconfigurability.
