We present the results of investigation of the damping properties of VT3-1 and VT8 titanium alloys in the as-received state,
after the procedure of industrial heat treatment, and after additional annealing performed at various temperatures for different
periods of time. It is shown that the procedure of additional annealing decreases the degree of scatter in the values of the
decrement of vibrations for specimens from the same batch.

We study the influence of different modes of thermomechanical treatment of the surface of commercially pure titanium followed
by its rapid thermal treatment on the characteristics of strength of the surface layers. It is shown that the highest strength
of the surface layers is observed after treatment performed according to the following scheme: stabilizing annealing in a
vacuum of about 10−5 Pa at 800°C for 1 h → deformation of the surface by ultrasonic impact treatment → rapid induction annealing of the surface
at 600°C. The structural changes induced in the surface layers of VT1-0 alloy by this treatment are analyzed. It is discovered
that the fatigue limit of the VT1-0 alloy increases by 50% as compared with the annealed state.

Comparative deformation analysis of a VT1-0 alloy in the as-cast and submicrocrystalline states under static loading was performed. The latter was obtained by intense plastic straining through twist extrusion. It was established that the submicrocrystalline alloy exhibited higher elasticity and static strength. After plastic straining, the elastic modulus decreases, while the hardening coefficient increases. 相似文献
