We study the changes in adhesive properties of poly(vinyl butyral) (PVB) sheets assigned for safety glass preparation. PVB sheets have been produced by various worldwide manufacturers by simple blending methods such as extrusion, thermo‐mechanical mixer processes, etc. Some samples were modified either by magnesium acetate or by oligo‐functional organic acid to either reduce the adhesion to glass or to increase it. Adhesive measurements were evaluated on the air side and the tin side of the laminated glass. The study deals with a recognition of causes of the PVB adhesion change as a function of adsorbed water content into the polymer matrix. Results describe the influence of hydroxyl group content and amount of added acid–base reactants for adhesion adjustment of every tested PVB sheet. It also describes typical adhesion fluctuation and specific adhesion bonding of PVB sheets to glass in particular conditions. The analysis evaluates the best and the worst blend combinations and their modification on the adhesion change. We focused on adhesion sensitivity to increasing water content and the amount of added adhesion modifier. This work also evaluated the critical range of water content that provides adhesion fluctuation. The evaluation of various types of PVB sheets was performed and the most stable adhesion adjustment was found. 简要介绍了标准PVB中间膜挡风玻璃的结构和原理,重点介绍了一种首孚信^TM公司新开发的增强型隔音PVB中间膜挡风玻璃,分析、比较了两种挡风玻璃的声传递特性。因为柴油引擎发出的噪音大于汽油动力的引擎,所以本文通过在柴油车上测试隔音PVB中间膜挡风玻璃是否能和在汽油动力汽车上一样降低风噪和公路噪音,结果表明,增强型隔音PVB中间膜挡风玻璃隔音降噪效果好,且重量更轻,可满足汽车改善车内环境、节能的要求。  相似文献

The study is focused on influences of optical properties change of poly(vinyl butyral) (PVB) sheets determined for safety glass preparing. Optic measurements were evaluated itself and after, the laminated glass was observed. The study deals with a cognizance of causation of the optical properties change in different PVB sheets in dependence on adsorbed water content into the polymer matrix. Results of this work describe the influence of ? OH group content on PVB chain and type and amount of additives adjusting adhesion of PVB towards glass. However, the most important discovery of this work is evaluation of critical water content that leads to haze generation. The evaluation of various types of sheets was performed. At the same time the artificial addition of Mg2+ salts of organic acids (with various polarity of the molecule) was evaluated to assess their influence on haze generation. It was found that haze caused by Mg2+ salt is possible to eliminate when there is certain water content in PVB. Obtained values and comparisons are very important for PVB sheets industry and for industry dealing with lamination of PVB between glasses. Plasticized polyvinyl butyral (PVB)‐silica nanocomposite films were formed by mixing PVB ethanol solution and silica sol, which was prepared from tetraethyl orthosilicate. The nanocomposite films were colorless and transparent even though the content of silica was 70 wt%. The glass transition temperature of PVB in the silica 2.5 wt% nanocomposites was higher by about 10°C than that of plasticized PVB. The PVB‐silica nanocomposite films were applied as an interlayer for laminated glass. The laminated glass made with the nanocomposite films containing less than 10 wt% silica showed good penetration resistance, not only at room temperature but also at 70°C. J. VINYL ADDIT. 通过对聚乙烯醇缩丁醛(PVB)的合成工艺进行改进,并在不加任何乳化剂的条件下,制得了完全粉末状的PVB产品;将其用于夹层安全玻璃的制备,则雾度值为0.41%,完全符合夹层安全玻璃的使用要求;并讨论了各因素对PVB产量的影响。实验结果表明,当m(PVA)∶m(正丁醛)∶V(HCl)=100 g∶56 g∶15 mL时,PVB的产量最高,其乙烯醇缩丁醛含量可达77.7%。  相似文献

Laminated safety glass is widely used in construction and as automotive windshield. When the glass plies break under dynamic loading, the adhesion between the glass plies and the interlayer is key to achieving the required safety performance. However, direct measurement of the interfacial adhesive properties is not possible with the existing test methods. In corresponding calculations, material behaviour is often simplified, which leads to inaccurate results. In this article, a finite element model for the 90° peel testing of laminated glass is studied. Hydrogen bonding at the interface between poly-vinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer and glass is represented in the model by a cohesive zone. It is seen that the experimentally measured peel force can successfully be matched by the simulations, but several combinations of variables can give the same result. Therefore, a parameter study is performed to establish the influence of each variable. It is found that the peel arm, consisting of the PVB and an aluminium backing foil, cannot be regarded as a thin film. Furthermore, the exact shape of the traction-separation law governing the cohesive zone has negligible influence on the simulation results, whereas the combination of interfacial strength and fracture energy fully characterises the delamination. The simulation results show that small-strain material behaviour can no longer be assumed for the PVB material in the vicinity of the crack tip.  相似文献

采用粘结法、热压法和蒸压法在实验室制作了夹层玻璃小试样。通过测试试样的冲击强度,分析了玻璃与聚碳酸脂(PC)胶片的组合结构对夹层玻璃强度的影响,比较了热压法与粘结法对树脂中间层与玻璃之间的粘附状况。实验结果为今后在生产中使用国产树脂胶片,提供了相应的技术路线。  相似文献

In this work, polyvinyl butyral (PVB) nanocomposites reinforced with 0.5 to 2.5 wt % of graphene oxide (GO) and graphene nanoplatelets (GNP) were synthesized via in situ polymerization. Dynamic mechanical analysis showed that PVB/GO 2.5 wt % nanocomposites present the largest storage modulus, with increases of 10 °C in the PVB glass transition temperature. The degree of entanglement and the reinforcement efficiency factor (C coefficient) were evaluated using the dynamic mechanical analysis results and correlated with scanning electron microscopy analyses. The degree of entanglement and C coefficient values were higher for PVB/GO 2.5 wt %, enabling the enhancement of PVB mechanical properties. The adhesion factor A was used to evaluate the interfacial interaction, evidencing an improvement in the nanoparticle/matrix adhesion for PVB/GO 2.5 wt % caused by interactions between GO oxygenated groups. For the samples reinforced with GNP, the results of storage modulus, degree of entanglement, coefficient C, and adhesion factor A were not significantly modified, due to weak interfacial interactions with PVB, preventing the exfoliation of GNP in PVB during the in situ polymerization process. Therefore, in situ polymerization will improve the dispersion and final properties of the nanocomposite with PVB only if the nanoparticle has a relevant interfacial interaction during the synthesis process. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Kraft pulp fibers were used as substrates for the grafting of poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL) from available hydroxyl groups through ring‐opening polymerization, targeting three different chain lengths (degree of polymerization): 120, 240, and 480. In a paper‐making process, paper‐sheet biocomposites composed of grafted fibers and neat pulp fibers were prepared. The paper sheets possessed both the appearance and the tactility of ordinary paper sheets. Additionally, the sheets were homogenous, suggesting that PCL‐grafted fibers and neat fibers were compatible, as demonstrated by both Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy microscopy and through dye‐labeling of the PCL‐grafted fibers. Finally, it was shown that the paper‐sheet biocomposites could be hot‐pressed into laminate structures without the addition of any matrix polymer; the adhesive joint produced could even be stronger than the papers themselves. This apparent and sufficient adhesion between the layers was thought to be due to chain entanglements and/or co‐crystallization of adjacent grafted PCL chains within the different paper sheets. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We investigated the light transmittance of an immiscible polymer blend comprising a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate (EVA) and a terpolymer of vinyl butyral, vinyl alcohol, and vinyl acetate (PVB). Both EVA and PVB are used in the interlayers of laminated glass. We found that the transparency of the blend depends on the ambient temperature. This can be attributed to the difference in the temperature dependence of the refractive index between EVA and PVB. The blend has good transparency at room temperature because the difference between the refractive indices of its components is minimal. At high or low temperatures, however, the blend becomes opaque owing to light scattering. The addition of a plasticizer favorably affects the temperature range over which the blend exhibits high transparency, because the refractive index and its temperature dependence are affected by the plasticizer. The effects of various methods of mechanical strengthening of glass on the adhesion properties of poly(vinyl butyral) (PVB) film to a float glass surface were investigated. The mechanisms of the influence of the strengthening processes on the adhesion properties were analyzed. The influence of different types of pretreatment of the glass surface on the adhesion of the polymer films was also considered. It was shown that ion-exchange strengthening followed by treatment with an alkaline water solution provided the best combination of high mechanical strength of glass and good adhesion of the PVB films to the glass surface. Metal-oxide coatings on float glass increased the mechanical strength of glass but decreased the adhesion strength between the polymer and glass. The adhesion of PVB to the metal-oxide layers was determined not only by the chemical composition of the layers, but also by the method of layers formation, the type of glass surface pretreatment, and the nature of the intermediate layer between the metal-oxide layer and the glass surface.  相似文献

Nanocomposites are potential materials that can be used to improve the flame resistance of polymers without the need for halogen‐based flame retardants. However, the nanocomposites cannot be used as the only raw material to produce final products as they are too expensive compared with low‐cost commodity plastics. Therefore, some types of polyolefin‐based floor sheet laminated with nanocomposites film were prepared for the cone calorimetric study to determine the suitable nanocomposites laminated structure for flame resistance. This study found that the polyolefin‐based floor sheet laminated with 200 µm Nylon‐6/montmorillonite nanocomposites film on the surface can reduce the HRR max and the S significantly; other types of nanocomposites film‐laminated floor sheet were not able to reduce their flame resistance in comparison with the normal Nylon‐6 film‐laminated floor sheet. Meanwhile, based on the gas barrier performance, the higher aspect ratio of clay is assumed to contribute to the higher flame resistance of nanocomposites. Thus, the polyolefin‐based floor sheet laminated with Nylon‐6/sericite nanocomposites film on the surface was also prepared and examined in the cone calorimetric study. However, the Nylon‐6/sericite nanocomposites film surface‐laminated floor sheet did not cause a significant reduction in the HRR max and S compared with the Nylon‐6/montmorillonite nanocomposites film surface‐laminated floor sheet. The grade determined according to the standard fire test and the mechanical properties of the Nylon‐6/montmorillonite nanocomposites film surface‐laminated floor sheet satisfied the requirements for floor sheets for Japanese railway vehicles. In a laminated‐sheet microchannel reactor, several microchannel sheets with the same or different structures are mutually laminated together. The effect of microchannel and manifold structure as well as the number of laminated sheets on the velocity distribution among microchannels in each sheet with the same structure is investigated. Results indicate that a large microchannel length, a high‐aspect‐ratio microchannel, and centrosymmetric manifold structure are favorable for a relatively uniform velocity distribution in each sheet. Considering the centrosymmetric manifold structure, a shorter distance from inlet and outlet to microchannels in direction of the microchannel width and a longer distance to the microchannel array in direction of the microchannel length can contribute to a more uniform velocity distribution. The laminated‐sheet number has only a minor impact on the velocity distribution among microchannels in each sheet.  相似文献

Compared with the traditional polyvinyl butyral (PVB) laminated glass, the polyurethane (PU) based laminated glass has the advantages of higher impact strength and longer service life. Thus, aromatic polyurethane films have attracted more attentions in recent years due to their high light transmittance, adhesion and functionality. In this paper, the tensile strength of polyurethane films based on bis(4-isocyanatocyclohexyl)-methane (HMDI) have been increased from 27 to 51 MPa and their elongation at break have been increased from 330% to 525% after solvent annealing in toluene. It is attributed to molecular segments with high crystallization and hydrogen bond formation of PU, which are confirmed by FT-IR and XRD characterization. Based on this, laminated glasses with higher impact strength based on the thermoplastic polyurethane films are constructed successfully.  相似文献

Silver nanowires and graphene were used to form networks within acrylic resin to improve its toughness and conductivity through silane coupling agent. Meanwhile, acrylic resin was favorable to the adhesion of graphene to glass substrates and the connection among graphene sheets to form films. Experimental results indicate that after annealing at 400°C, sheet resistances of graphene‐silver nanowire films were lower than those graphene films without silver nanowires. This study makes use of electrospinning to produce epoxy polymer ultrathin fibers. Those fibers were collected as nonwoven sheets with various thicknesses. The collected ultrathin fibrous sheets (UFS) were incorporated into ply interfaces of a glass/epoxy composite laminate. End‐notch flexure (ENF) specimens were employed to measure the mode II interlaminar fracture toughness (GIIC) of the resulting laminate. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was carried out to investigate the fracture surface and fracture mechanism of tested samples. Results indicate that there were some reinforcing effects of the UFS on the GIIC when the thickness of the sheets was not more than 0.13 mm for a single sheet and 0.06 mm for multi‐sheets incorporated.
