The field dependence of real () and imaginary () component of ac susceptibility of superconductors within the critical state model can conveniently be used for evaluating the critical current when field amplitude is larger than the penetration field. A method to analyze the real () and imaginary () component of fundamental ac susceptibility with the objective of extracting the temperature dependence of critical current density J c(T) is reported. The procedure makes use of the ac susceptibility data of two polycrystalline (Bi-Pb)-2223 samples measured with different excitation amplitudes below and close to the critical temperature. The temperature dependence of J c is extracted using the isothermal scan over and data. Results obtained from this procedure are found to be in fair agreement with J c(T) calculated from traditional loss-maximum data.  相似文献

Summary This study presents the numerical calculations of the fluid flow and turbulent heat transfer characteristics of hot flow over a sudden-expansion with cold air base mass injection. The turbulent governing equations are solved by a control-volume-based finite-difference method with power-law scheme, the well knownk- model, and its associate wall function to describe the turbulent behavior. The velocity and pressure terms of momentum equations are solved by the SIMPLE (Semi-Implicid Method for Pressure-Linked Equation) method. In this study non uniform staggered grids are used. The parameters interested include the inlet Reynolds number (Re), inlet temperature (T0), and the injection flow rate (Q). The numerical results show that the reattachment lengths are reasonably predicted with a maximum discrepancy within 9.1%. It also shows that the base mass injection suppresses the horizontal velocity and turbulence intensity. The fatigue behaviour of commercially pure aluminium and of nylon under sequentially varying strain amplitudes is compared with a damage law of the type suggested by Miner. The plastic instability approach has been applied to the tensile behaviour of a continuous fibre composite. It is shown that the combination of two components with different strengths and degrees of work-hardening produces a new material with a new degree of work-hardening, which may be determined by the present analysis. The relative permittivity, , and dielectric loss factor, tan , were measured in the frequency range 50–105 Hz for the solid state track detector CR-39 irradiated with -rays (5–100 kGy). The variation of and tan with -dose have been interpreted in terms of structural changes as emphasized from infrared spectra. Microstructure and ageing characteristics of a cast Zn-Al based alloy (ZnAl7Cu3) were studied using X-ray diffraction, electron scanning microscopy and back-scattered diffraction techniques. Two stages of phase transformation, i.e., decomposition of zinc rich phase and four phase transformation, + T + , were detected during ageing at 150°C. Electron back-scattered diffraction technique was applied in distinguishing both zinc rich and phases.  相似文献

The dynamic Young's modulus (EL) and loss tangent (tan L ) along the grain, dynamic shear modulus (GL) and loss tangent (tan S) in the vertical section, and density () of a hundred spruce wood specimens used for the soundboards of musical instruments were determined. The relative acoustic conversion efficiency ( ) and a ratio reflecting the anisotropy of wood (, (EL/GL)(tan S/tan L)) were defined in order to evaluate the acoustic quality of wood along the grain. There was a positive correlation between and , and the variation in was larger than that in . It seemed logical to evaluate the acoustic quality of spruce wood by a measure of . By using a cell wall model, those acoustic factors were expressed with the physical properties of the cell wall constituents. This model predicted that the essential requirement for an excellent soundboard is smaller fibril angle of the cell wall, which yields higher and higher . On the other hand, the effects of chemical treatments on the and of wood were clarified experimentally and analyzed theoretically. It was suggested that the and of wood cannot be improved at the same time by chemical treatment.  相似文献

Summary The response of a solidly rotating anchored finite liquid column consisting of frictionless liquid is subjected to axial harmonic excitation. The response of the free liquid surface elevation and velocity distribution has been determined analytically in the elliptic (>2 0) and hyperbolic frequency range (>2 0). Summary The free vibrations, buckling and the effect of initial prestress upon the frequency spectrum of orthotropic composite cylindrical shells are examined in the context of a theory that includes transverse shear deformation. Results obtained are compared with the predictions of refined Love-type theory and simplified Donnell-type theory that do not consider shear deformation.The calculated examples indicate that transverse shear deformation can be significant not only for short composite shells but even for longer shells possessing low shear moduli.

Zusammenfassung Es werden die freien Schwingungen, das Beulen und der Einfluß einer Anfangsvorspannung auf das Frequenzspektrum orthotroper, kompositer, zylindrischer Schalen im Rahmen einer Theorie, die die Querschubverformung mitberücksichtigt, untersucht. Die erhaltenen Resultate werden mit den Vorhersagen der verbesserten Loveschen Theorie und der vereinfachten Donnellschen Theorie, welche keine Querschubverformung in Betrach ziehen, verglichen.Die durchgerechneten Beispiele zeigen, daß die Querschubverformung nicht nur für kurze, komposite Schalen sondern sogar für längere Schalen mit niederem Schubmodul Bedeutung gewinnen kann.

Several- Ni-Al and Ni-Al-Ti two-phase bicrystals were made by the solid-state diffusion couple method. Each couple consisted of a-phase single crystal and a pure-Ni polycrystal, and was annealed at 1473 K in an Ar gas atmosphere. Single crystal layers of-phase with uniform thickness always grow into the parent-phase single crystals. The resultant/ interface has no voids or facets regardless of the orientation of interface and the chemical composition of the-phase. Porosity formation due to the Kirkendall effect is observed in the diffused region. Concentration profiles exhibit nearly constant gradients in-phase. The orientation relationship between both phases is found to be 001//001, that is, the-phase grows epitaxially along the crystal orientation of-phase.  相似文献

Hydrodynamically developing flow of Oldroyd B fluid in the planar die entrance region has been investigated numerically using SIMPLER algorithm in a non-uniform staggered grid system. It has been shown that for constant values of the Reynolds number, the entrance length increases as the Weissenberg number increases. For small Reynolds number flows the center line velocity distribution exhibit overshoot near the inlet, which seems to be related to the occurrence of numerical breakdown at small values of the limiting Weissenberg number than those for large Reynolds number flows. The superplasticm- curves of Ti-6Al-4 alloy have been determined at different temperatures and strain rates; all were of them L=m max type, and were of either fundamental, descending or ascending types. The latter two types were transformed from the former through the processes ofm Lm O, LO andm Lm F, LF, respectively. The highest total elongation, F, was 1150% obtained at 950C and 1.55×10–3 s–1. The Chin Liu equation has been applied to all types ofm- curves. The parameters characteristic of all types ofm- curves have been obtained and were found to vary with temperature and strain rate. The athermal transformation in Zr-2 at.% Nb alloy has been investigated by transmission electron microscopy. Analysis of the selected-area diffraction pattern has shown that the orientation relationships between the omega and the parent-phase in quenched Zr-2 at.% Nb alloy are the same as have been previously observed for the reaction in pure zirconium. Thus it was deduced that the direct transition has taken place in the alloy during cooling. The-originated -particles were visualized using the dark-field technique. The formation of the athermal omega in the-region of-stabilized Zr-Nb alloy is discussed in terms of the relative positions of the free energy equilibrium curvesT 0 ,T 0 ,T 0 and the correspondingM s ,M s andT s start curves. It is concluded that the omega phase can occur over a much wider range of alloy compositions than is usually recognized on the basis of transformation data.  相似文献

The dielectric constants and loss factors,, for pure single-crystal MgO and for Fe-and Cr-doped crystals have been measured at frequencies, , from 500 Hz to 500 kHz at room temperature. For pure MgO at 1 kHz the values of and the loss tangent, tan , (9.62 and 2.16×10–3, respectively) agree well with the data of Von Hippel; the conductivity, , varies as n withn=0.98±0.02. In Fe-doped crystals increases with Fe-concentration (at any given frequency); for a crystal doped with 12800 ppm Fe, was about four times the value for pure MgO. At all concentrations the variation of log with log was linear andn=0.98±0.02. A decrease in with increasing Fe-concentration was also observed. A similar, although less pronounced, behaviour was found in Cr-doped crystals. The effects are discussed in terms of hopping mechanisms.  相似文献
