Performance of Multicarrier CDMA Rake System over Rayleigh Fading Channel   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
Based on the theory of multicarrier (MC) technique and the Rake receiver, a multicarrier DS-CDMA Rake system is proposed, where a data sequence multiplied by a spreading sequence modulates multiple carriers. The receiver provides a Rake for each subcarrier, and the outputs of the Rakes are combined by a maximal-ratio combiner. The average probability of error of the system is derived from an uncorrelated subcarrier and frequency-selective fading channel model. The system performances are evaluated over Rayleigh fading channel with an exponential multipath intensity profile(MIP) and with a rectangular MIP, respectively, when multipath interference is present. It is found that this kind of model has larger superiority in an exponential MIP than in a rectangular MIP.  相似文献

本文提出了一种新的多载波码分多址(MC-CDMA)系统.与传统系统相比,其主要区别是采用多个并行MC-CDMA分支,每一个分支用一组正交子载波进行调制.在每个分支上,使用相同扩频序列的不同码片调制子载波.这种系统能更有效地利用传输带宽,实现频率分集.由于该系统降低了每个子载波上的数据速率,扩频序列更容易同步.最后给出了系统在Ricean衰落信道下的性能分析.  相似文献

We present an new method for the analytical calculation of the error probability in a Rayleigh fading channel with correlated fading amplitudes. Even though the method can be applied for more general problems, we restrict ourselves on the investigation of a multicarrier CDMA transmission. The frequency correlation between the fading amplitudes of the carriers is given by the delay power spectrum of the channel. We generalize the well-known analytical expressions for the pairwise error probability of the uncorrelated Rayleigh channel to this case of correlated fading. This probability can be expressed in a closed form by an integral over a finite interval which can be easily evaluated numerically. We present some examples to show how much of the diversity of a code remains useful if the transmission channel does not provide an arbitrary degree of diversity.  相似文献

Interest in code division multiple access (CDMA) has increased dramaticallyin boththe industry and academia. This is due to the potential increase in usercapacity andinterference, multipath fading, and jam-resistant capabilities. Differentapproaches ofmultiuser detection schemes have shown improvement over the conventionalreceiver.However, multiuser detectors require system parameters and adaptive multiuserreceivers require training sequences. These parameters are difficult toobtain inmultipath fading channels with a degradation in performance. A blind adaptivemultiuser receiver for flat fading and frequency-selective fading environments isstudied in this paper. This receiver alleviates the problem of multiuser detectors and adaptivemultiuser receivers by using a blind adaptive equalization method. The structure of the receiveris similar to that of the adaptive MMSE receiver which consists of an adaptive equalizer and an adaptivemechanism that uses a standard least mean-squared (LMS) algorithm, but uses a matched filterto generate a reference signal. The receiver is shown to be effective in different fadingchannels with perfect power control and a near-far effect. Furthermore, the simulationresults show that the blind MMSE receiver outperforms the conventional receiver and theRAKE receiver.  相似文献

多载波码分多址(MC-CDMA)是一种把多载波和CDMA相结合的技术方案。在MC-CDMA中,每个数据符号通过N个子载波传输,且根据扩频码对每个子载波以0或π相位偏移进行编码。分别研究了MC-CDMA系统上行链路和下行链路的瑞利衰落信道模型以及采用等增益组合和最大比组合的接收机模型,并对上行链路和下行链路的系统误码率性能进行了分析和计算。数值结果表明,MRC在上行链路中的性能要优于EGC,但在下行链路中的抗干扰性能不如EGC。  相似文献

In this paper, a generalized multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna system that can be fitted to the uplink of a wireless communication system is considered for the general case of multi-user. At the transmitter, the information bits are Turbo coded, then interleaved and passed through a serial-to-parallel converter. The channel is assumed bad urban suffering from multipath Rayleigh fading resulting in inter-symbol and multiple access interferences (ISI and MAI). At the front-end of the receiver, a number of receiving antennas are used followed by a joint multi-user estimator based on the Minimum Mean Square Error Block Linear Equalizer (MMSE-BLE).Computer simulations demonstrate a significant performance improvement in both single user and multi-user cases.This paper depends in parts on that presented at the 11th European Wireless Conference, Cyprus, Nicosia, pp. 187–192, April 2005. Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical communication engineering from Cairo University, Egypt, in 1983, 1987 and 1994 respectively. Since 1983, she has been with the Department of Electronics and Communications, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, and is currently associate professor there. Her research interests include optical fiber communications, mobile and satellite communications. Emad K. Al-Hussaini received his B.Sc degree in Electrical Communication Engineering from Ain-Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, in 1964 and his M.Sc and Ph.D. degrees from Cairo University, Giza, Egypt, in 1974 and 1977, respectively. From 1964 to 1970, he was with the General Egyptian Aeroorganization. Since 1970, he has been with the Department of Electronics and Communications, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, and is currently professor there. He was a research fellow at Imperial College, London, UK, and at the Moore School of Electrical Engineering, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, USA, in the academic years 1976/1977 and 1981/1982, respectively. In 1990, he received the Egyptian national encouragement award for outstanding engineering research. He has written several papers for technical international journals and conferences. His research interests include signal processing, fading channel communication, modulation, and cellular mobile radio systems. Dr Al-Hussaini is a senior member of IEEE. He is listed in Marquis Whos Who in the World and in the IBC (International Biographical Center, Cambridge) for outstanding people of the 20th century.  相似文献

该文对准静态Rayleigh衰落下MIMO-CDMA系统信道容量进行了研究,分析了扩频码为Walsh函数,基于多码检测的极大似然检测器(MLD)和解相关检测器的性能,并和MMSE多用户检测器(MUD)进行了比较;分析了对不同检测器在一定的信噪比下系统天线数目和信道容量的关系。仿真结果表明:在相同的情况下,基于Walsh码CDMA系统容量按MUD、干扰方差已知的MLD,干扰方差未知的MLD和解相关检测器递减,并且后面的3种检测器在大信噪比的时候均有渐进的平台效应;在信噪比较大且一定时,CDMA系统信道容量与天线数目呈线性关系。  相似文献

Since the conventional detector performs poorly in bandwidth-efficient Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) systems, several multiuser detectors were proposed recently. In this paper, we compare performance of the decorrelator, the two-stage detector (2S), and the decision-feedback detector (DF) for the Rayleigh flat fading synchronous CDMA channel. First, assuming perfect channel estimation, we show that the 2S and the DF have much lower bit error rate (BER) than the decorrelator, and prove that the ideal DF has unity Asymptotic Multiuser Efficiency (AME). Furthermore, we evaluate the performance of these detectors in the presence of channel mismatch. We model the Rayleigh flat fading channel as the second order Auto Regressive (AR) process, and use the Kalman filter as the channel estimator. The lower bounds on the BER of the 2S and the DF are derived. The analytical results and the simulations show that the estimation error accumulated due to cancellation of other users limits the performance of the 2S and the DF. Therefore, in the presence of channel mismatch, the decorrelator offers comparable or even better performance than more complex decision-feedback and two-stage detectors.  相似文献

One of the principal disadvantages of multicarrier modulation technique is the sensitivity to the frequency offset introduced by Doppler shift. This frequency offset introduces inter-carrier interference (ICI) among the multiplicity of carriers in the multicarrier modulated signal. However, Doppler spread induced by temporal channel variations can provides another means for diversity. In this paper, we propose a modified multicarrier code division multiple access (CDMA) system to exploit Doppler diversity as well as multipath diversity. The key work of our framework is a canonical time-frequency-based decomposition of the mobile wireless channel into series of independent fading channel. The decomposition naturally leads to a time-frequency generalization of the Rake receiver that exploits both multipath and Doppler diversity.  相似文献

In a multicarrier direct-sequence code-division multiple access (MC DS CDMA) system, different fading channels for different users and/or different carriers are correlated in general; thus a vector channel model is more appropriate than disjoint scalar channel models. For multiuser MC DS CDMA systems, we propose (1) a generalized vector autoregressive model which accounts for correlation between different user/carrier fading channels, (2) the use of a two-phased algorithm to obtain the proposed model’s parameters, and (3) a receiver structure that consists of a generalized decorrelator followed by maximal-ratio combining (MRC) of uncorrelated carrier channel outputs of each user. The estimated fading coefficients provide the necessary quantities to MRC. The computer simulation results show that the proposed scheme has performance close to the case in which the channel is perfectly known, and outperforms separate scalar channel estimation case.  相似文献

In this paper optimum one-shot detection over known and partially known doubly-selective Rayleigh fading channels is investigated. Reduced complexity channel models based on Gauss Quadrature Rules (GQRs) and Taylor power series are derived and are employed to develop novel analytical tools for the performance analysis of one-shot detectors. Numerical results allow to assess the implicit diversity gain provided by both channel multipath and signal fading and the energy loss due to the mismatch of the receiver filter.  相似文献

The bit-error rate (BER) for a forward-link cellulardirect-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS-CDMA) systemis evaluated. This analysis takes into account the effects ofmulti-cell interference resulting from Nakagami multipath fading,frequency selectivity, path loss and mobile user spatialdistribution. Exponentially decaying multipath intensityprofile (MIP) is adopted in the model to investigate itssignificance on the overall performance. In order to evaluatethe BER performance efficiently, saddlepoint integration (SPI)is applied in the analysis. By fixing the number of resolvablemultipaths and varying the number of fingers for the RAKEreceiver, it can be shown that the capacity of a DS-CDMAcellular system increases almost linearly with the number ofRAKE fingers.  相似文献

In a CDMA communication network using conventional signal detection, system capacity is limited and its performance is degraded by the multi-access interference (MAI). Multiuser detection, which makes use of cross-correlation information between spread spectrum codes, can reduce or eliminate the MAI in a Gaussian channel so as to mitigate the near-far effects and increase the system capacity. This paper extends the multiuser detector to a flat Rayleigh fading CDMA environment, and discusses the bit error rate of typical multiuser detection algorithms in such a environment by combining theoretical analysis and computer simulation. It is shown that multiuser detection is superior to conventional detections in the flat Rayleigh fading channels.  相似文献

In this paper, a new multiuser detector combining decorrelating detector and multicarrier transmission scheme is proposed and analyzed in a frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel. The bit error probability and asymptotic multiuser efficiency are derived as performance measures. From numerical results, it is shown that the proposed detector achieves better BER performance and lower computational complexity compared to a conventional decorrelating detector. It is also shown that the proposed detector is robust to partial narrowband interference, and alleviates near-far problem effectively. The results in this paper can be applied to design of a wideband CDMA system.  相似文献

This paper presents a decorrelating detector for DS-CDMAasynchronous systems over multipath fading channels. The decorrelatingreceiver applies the inverse correlation matrix of signature waveformsto detect the received signal. A procedure for finding such an inversematrix is developed. This procedure employs the reciprocal basis,derived from the basis of normalized user signatures, to cancelsimultaneously both the multiuser and the intersymbolinterference. The proposed multiuser detector operates over a finitedetection window, and the only restriction imposed on the set of signaturesis that the signatures must be independent at the receiver end. If the channelis slowly variant, the detectorcan be very efficient for high bit rate transmissions. Theoreticalbounds for the multiuser interference are obtained. Simulationresults, in which both binary and non-binary sequences are used,reveal that the behaviour of the detector approaches the single userbound when an adequate set of signatures is employed. The reducedcomplexity of this detector indicates that it could be a good candidatefor practical implementation.  相似文献

符号定时和载波频率偏差将严重影响OFDM系统的性能。基于具有重复结构的CAZAC序列,提出了一种仅利用一个CAZAC符号实现符号定时、整数倍频偏与小数倍频偏估计的同步算法。这种算法在完成粗定时同步的同时得到整数倍频偏估计,然后根据整数倍频偏估计值对定时估计进行修正,最后完成小数倍频偏估计。分析与仿真结果表明,该算法相对经典算法,不但提高了传输效率,还显著改善了OFDM系统的定时与频偏估计性能,相比CAZAC序列算法,提升了多径信道下的同步性能。  相似文献

本文讨论了混合DS-SFH扩频多址SSMA通信系统在瑞利衰落信道中多径分集接收的性能。基于多径干扰、多址干扰和信道噪声之和为一个高斯随机变量的分析,推导了在等增益组合(EGC)和选择最大(SM)多径分集接收算法下,扩频系统的平均差错概率。理论分析和数值模拟指出:扩频多径分集接收可以明显地改善DS-SFHSSMA系统的性能,在提高系统性能方面,等增益组合算法优于选择最大分集算法。  相似文献

The spectral efficiency of a multicarrier direct‐sequence code‐division multiple‐access (MC/DS‐CDMA) cellular system, operating in a mobile radio environment with Rayleigh fading, is investigated and evaluated in terms of channel capacity (in the Shannon sense) per user, estimated in an average sense. The analysis is based on the combination of path‐diversity reception, achieved by a conventional coherent maximal‐ratio combining (MRC) RAKE receiver and the physical frequency diversity potential provided by orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). As shown, a closed‐form expression for the achieved spectral efficiency of the considered system's operation is derived following a recently presented general method.
