This work was concerned with the development of polyurethane (PU) composites reinforced with cellulose fibers attained from sugarcane straw. For the obtainment of cellulose, sugarcane straw was pretreated and delignified. For the production of the PU, the polyol (castor oil) to diisocyanate mass ratio was 1.5:1.0. Reinforcement of the matrix was done, changing the concentration of cellulose fibers (5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% w/w). The efficiency on the obtainment of cellulose fibers was verified by chemical characterization and the fibers morphological aspects by scanning electron microscopy. The influence of fibers content in the composites was studied by thermal analyses, tensile and moisture absorption tests.  相似文献

In this study borassus and tamarind fruit fibers were extracted and their physical and mechanical properties such as diameter, density, tensile strength and interfacial adhesion strength (IAS) were experimentally determined. To study the effect of alkali treatment, both the fruit fibers were treated with 5% vol. sodium hydroxide solution for 0.5 h, 1 h, 2 h, and 4 h durations. Morphological studies of untreated and alkali treated fibers by using scanning electron microscope (SEM) revealed the presence of the surface impurities on the untreated fiber whereas the same were absent on the treated fibers. Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis also confirmed the elimination of amorphous hemicellulose of the fibers on treatment. Borassus fruit fine fibers and tamarind fruit fibers treated for 2 h exhibited better mechanical properties and improved IAS with Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL) -Epoxy matrix.  相似文献

Composite reinforcement is defined as a technique to improve the engineering characteristics of composite and a fiber reinforced composite (FRC) is a composite material consisting of a polymer matrix imbedded with high-strength fibers, synthetic fibers or natural fibers. Natural fibers have recently become attractive to researchers, engineers, and scientists as an alternative reinforcement for FRCs. Nanocomposite shows considerable applications in different fields because of larger surface area, and greater aspect ratio, with fascinating properties. Being environmentally friendly, applications of nanocomposites offer new technology and business opportunities for several sectors, such as aerospace, automotive, electronics, and biotechnology industries. Hybrid bio-based composites that exploit the synergy between natural fibers in a nanoreinforced bio-based polymer can lead to improved properties along with maintaining environmental appeal. This review article intended to investigate natural fiber/nanofiller-based hybrid composite with specific concern to their physical and mechanical properties.  相似文献

以聚有机硅氧烷为改性剂,采用预聚、扩链改性及中和乳化技术制备了高性能环保型水性聚氨酯真皮涂饰剂。研究了改性聚氨酯涂层的表面化学组成、表面疏水性以及表面干/湿擦牢度等性能。实验结果表明,所制备的乳液能稳定存在1年以上,由于聚有机硅氧烷的引人以及成膜过程中原位交联的实现,制得的聚氨酯涂层具有疏水性好、干/湿擦牢度高的特点。  相似文献

通过纤维分析仪、傅里叶变换红外光谱仪(FT-IR)、扫描电镜(SEM)研究4种废纸(废新闻纸、废箱纸板、办公废纸、废书刊纸)纤维的表面形貌和结构特性;然后以聚乳酸(PLA)为基体、4种废纸纤维为增强体,利用注塑成形法制备废纸纤维/PLA生物可降解复合材料并探究废纸纤维对复合材料界面相容性和力学性能的影响。结果表明,废新闻纸纤维表面受损严重,多处出现扭结及横节纹;废箱纸板及废书刊纸纤维形态完整,扭结程度低且表面较为粗糙;办公废纸纤维长径比较大、细小纤维含量较少、纤维形态特性良好但表面相对光滑。废新闻纸/PLA复合材料和办公废纸/PLA复合材料的界面相容性较差,废纸纤维对PLA基体力学性能的增强效果一般;废箱纸板/PLA复合材料和废书刊纸/PLA复合材料的界面相容性较好,且废纸纤维有一定承力作用,对PLA基体弯曲性能和拉伸性能的改善效果较好。  相似文献
