Fatigue test of a needled C/SiC composite with a notch under tension-tension cyclic loading was completed, and the main fatigue crack propagation curve of the needled composite was obtained by the in situ observation of the fatigue process. By analyzing the influence of the failure number and distribution on the tensile loading subjected by 0° fiber bundles, the relationship between the main fatigue crack propagation and the distribution of 0° fiber bundles in the needled composite was established. By observing the fracture microstructure (especially the distribution of 0° fiber bundles) of the needled composite through scanning electron microscopy, the reasons for the varying fatigue resistance of different notched specimens were also explained. In addition, acoustic emission (AE) was also used to analyze the AE energy characteristics during the fatigue crack propagation process of the needled composite.

The use of fracture mechanics has traditionally concentrated on crack growth under an opening mechanism. However, many service failures occur from cracks subjected to mixed-mode loading. Hence, it is necessary to evaluate the fatigue behavior under mixed-mode loading. Under mixed-mode loading, not only the fatigue crack propagation rate is of importance, but also the crack propagation direction. In modified range 0.3≤a/W≤0.5, the stress intensity factors (SIFs) of mode I and mode II for the compact tension shear (CTS) specimen were calculated by using elastic finite element analysis. The propagation behavior of the fatigue cracks of cold rolled stainless steels (STS304) under mixed-mode conditions was evaluated by using KI and KII(SIFs of mode I and mode II). The maximum tangential stress (MTS) criterion and stress intensity factor were applied to predict the crack propagation direction and the propagation behavior of fatigue cracks.  相似文献

Experiment-calculated modeling of fatigue crack development of 20 GFL cast steel in railroad constructions irregularly loaded has been carried out. The loading of samples involves tensile overloads from the operational range of loading of freight car bogies. The calculation implies a complete fatigue failure diagram of the steel under study and a concept of the effective stress intensity factor at the overload-affected site. The parameters used in the calculation are determined from the results of tests. The calculation is correlated with the results of the experiment.  相似文献

对承受循环压载的缺口试件的疲劳问题进行了试验和理论研究。结果表明,疲劳裂纹是在残余拉应力和循环压应力作用下萌生和扩展的,压塑性变形是裂纹萌生和扩展和扩展的必要条件。循环压载下仍存在着裂纹张开和裂纹闭合,其机理与拉伸循环下不同。以试验中采用的LY12CA材料边缺口试件为例,提出了考虑裂纹闭合效应的扩展率计算模型,结果与试验吻合得较好。  相似文献

研究了铝合金AA5754点焊拉剪接头的疲劳性能,获得了不同厚度试件的载荷寿命曲线。研究了铝合金焊点的疲劳失效模式,讨论了焊点疲劳裂纹的扩展形式,并测量了裂纹扩展路径与点焊熔核界面之间的角度。分析了点焊拉剪试件在同时承受I型和II型载荷时,疲劳裂纹的扩展方向,并与测量值进行了比较。利用疲劳破坏后沿铝板厚度方向的实际裂纹长度修正了裂纹尖端的局部应力强度因子,提出了评价焊点寿命的疲劳参量K(i),并对试验数据进行了分析比较。结果证明K(i)可以有效关联试件尺寸效应和焊点疲劳寿命,能够用于预测焊点疲劳寿命。  相似文献

In this article, we study the influence of the cubic boron nitride (CBN) particle size in nano/micro CBN particle-coated tools on the fatigue performance of hard-machined AISI 1053 steel. The effect of the CBN particle size on the crack initiation life and the crack propagation life is reduced significantly with increased loading, whereas the crack propagation life is more influenced by the CBN particle size compared with the crack initiation life. The CBN particle size can influence the crack initiation life by 96 % and the crack propagation life by 130 %. As a result, it can influence the fatigue life by 370 % at the maximum Hertzian stress of 2,724 MPa. The results demonstrate that the CBN particle size influences the fatigue life and that the effect of the CBN particle size on the fatigue life can be lessened significantly if the loading is increased to a certain level that depends on the function of machined surfaces.  相似文献

针对轴承钢中夹杂物周围应力集中导致的疲劳剥落,建立了一种结合连续损伤力学的内聚力模型,用于模拟滚动接触循环加载下的裂纹萌生与扩展。基于内聚力模型的损伤起始准则和损伤演化规律,利用VUMAT子程序结合连续损伤力学构造了新的损伤演化方式,实现循环加载下的损伤累积,建立了基于内聚力模型的疲劳损伤累积失效模型,对含夹杂物模型的疲劳裂纹萌生与扩展进行了模拟,并研究了载荷条件和接触区摩擦因数对裂纹萌生与扩展以及疲劳寿命的影响。研究结果揭示了微观裂纹的萌生与扩展过程,为认识滚动接触疲劳提供了基础。  相似文献

Design of spinous process hooks for flexible fixation of the lumbar spine   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
A prototype flexible fixation system for the lumbar spine was subjected to tensile testing to failure and cyclic tensile testing in order to determine any regions of weakness. The system consisted of a spinous process hook and two laminar hooks made of stainless steel (316L). Each laminar hook was attached to the spinous process hook by a loop of polyester braid secured by a crimped metal sleeve. In five tensile tests, the system failed by irreversible deformation of the spinous process hook at 2.5 +/- 0.3 kN (mean +/- standard deviation). In three cyclic tests, in which the applied tension varied sinusoidally between 0.04 and 0.4 kN at a frequency of 5 Hz, failure occurred after less than 400,000 loading cycles. This occurred as a result of fatigue crack initiation and propagation in the spinous process hook. A finite element model showed a stress concentration in the region where the crack occurred, which raised the applied stress above the tensile fatigue strength of this stainless steel. The spinous process hook was redesigned for manufacture in a titanium alloy (Ti-6AI-4V ELI) to minimize artefacts in magnetic resonance imaging. Further finite element models showed no unacceptable stress concentrations.  相似文献

The tensile, fracture toughness and fatigue properties of Al−Si 319 lost-foam-cast alloy were determined at room temperature. The fatigue properties of this alloy were also determined at 150°C. Fatigue cracks were always initiated at the largest casting pore. Initial pore sizes were measured using a scanning electron microscope. Surface replication showed that majority of the fatigue life was spent in fatigue crack propagation and permitted the estimation of the constants in the Paris power law and the threshold stress intensity factor (ΔK th ). The role of internal casting porosity was quantified using a linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM) model for fatigue crack growth. The predicted lives agreed with the measured values within a factor of two.  相似文献

研究了在恒幅拉伸循环载荷作用下球铁的疲劳裂纹扩展的微观机制,分析了石墨形态对铸铁疲劳裂纹萌生及扩展行为的影响。结果表明:铸铁的石墨形态对疲劳裂纹的萌生及扩展有很大影响。灰铁由于在共晶团内石墨片相互连接,疲劳裂纹总是沿着与外应力相垂直的石墨片/基体边界扩展。球铁的疲劳裂纹扩展受基体组织及石墨形态所左右,但在石墨球/基体界面产生的滑移带、塑性区及裂纹尖端钝化区决定着疲劳裂纹萌生及扩展的整个过程。球铁的疲劳裂纹扩展规律是:裂纹连续扩展—急速扩展—裂纹尖端钝化—重新诱发裂纹—连续扩展。  相似文献

采用蒙特卡罗法对随机超载作用下的疲劳裂纹扩展进行模拟计算。载荷谱为在基本循环载荷基础上加入一以泊松流发生的随机超载序列.超载的大小为均匀分布。相邻两次超载发生的时间间隔通过一系列相互独立、服从指数分布的随机数进行模拟。采用Wheeler模型考虑超载的迟滞效应,计算出每一载荷循环的裂纹扩展量。由此模拟出裂纹从初始长度一直到疲劳破坏的扩展曲线。通过大量样本的模拟计算,获得随机超载作用下疲劳裂纹扩展寿命的平均值与标准差。最后研究超载发生强度和大小对疲劳裂纹扩展寿命的影响。  相似文献

在高频循环载荷作用下,材料疲劳裂纹的萌生与扩展过程伴随着明显的温度变化,该温度变化反映材料内部结构的损伤特征。通过20 kHz的超声疲劳试验,研究一种碳锰钢在超高周疲劳加载条件下的内部疲劳裂纹萌生与扩展过程中温度的演化过程。通过对该材料在疲劳损伤过程中,内部裂纹间的摩擦生热机理分析,从微观角度出发,结合分形理论,建立内部裂纹微观结构的摩擦模型,数值模拟超声疲劳过程中材料内部疲劳裂纹面间的摩擦生热情况,并定量地计算该过程中由裂纹间摩擦所导致的温度上升,将模拟结果与试验结果进行比较。探究高频疲劳载荷下微裂纹扩展与摩擦生热的关系,并结合超高周疲劳裂纹扩展公式,建立超声疲劳过程中的裂纹扩展与裂纹面温度演化关系的模型。  相似文献

In general, the experimental data of fatigue crack growth rates scatter very much even under identical experimental condition such as a constant amplitude loading condition. It is, thus, essential to take into account the data scatter of crack growth rates by using statistical approach for a reliable fatigue crack, propagation analysis. In this study, fatigue crack propagation tests were conducted on a 1.02 mm-thick 2024-T3 aluminum alloy under a constant amplitude loading condition. The distribution of the fatigue crack propagation life is estimated by using the stochastic Markov chain model based on a modified Paris-Erdogan equation to consider the variability of the fatigue crack growth. The fatigue lives estimated by using the Markov chain model are found to be agreed well with the experimental results.  相似文献

Crack propagations or failure modes in rolling element bearings, which had been difficult to explain via conventional crack propagation mechanisms such as the orthogonal shear stress mechanism, were discussed from the viewpoint of a tensile strain mechanism. Contact stresses are compressive in three axes, whose values differ from each other; then strain can be tensile in one of these directions, acting at a right angle to the direction of maximum compressive stress. A crack is considered to propagate by this tensile strain. When contact stress is small, a crack produced by some cause can propagate by this elastic tensile strain. When contact stress is large, residual tensile strain is produced by plastic deformation, which can also influence the crack propagation. Several failure modes of rolling element bearings, which had been difficult to explain, were explained by tensile strain.  相似文献

基于塑性应变能密度概念提出微焊点低周疲劳裂纹萌生、扩展和寿命预测模型,阐明其与连续介质损伤力学的联系,评估应力三轴度对预测模型的影响,并通过试验和数值计算相结合的方法确定出微米尺度球栅阵列(Ball grid array,BGA)结构单颗Sn3.0Ag0.5Cu无铅焊点(高度为500~100 μm,焊盘直径为480 μm)疲劳裂纹萌生和扩展模型中的相关常数。研究结果表明,疲劳裂纹萌生和扩展循环数与每个循环所产生的塑性应变能密度均呈幂函数关系;应力三轴度会影响疲劳裂纹扩展速率,并最终影响焊点的疲劳寿命;应力三轴度与加载方式有关,拉伸载荷下焊点的应力应变行为受异种材料界面和封装结构力学约束作用的影响,应力三轴度随焊点高度降低而明显升高;而剪切载荷作用下焊点中的力学约束十分有限,焊点高度变化对应力三轴度的影响非常小;测得的高度为100 μm焊点的疲劳裂纹扩展相关常数可以很好地用于预测其他不同高度焊点的疲劳寿命,表明所提出的预测模型可以有效地减小由几何结构和体积变化造成的塑性应变能集中现象对焊点疲劳寿命的影响。  相似文献
