＂The Adjustment and Vitalization Plan of Light Industry＂ Has Been Issued

The full text of ＂the Adjustment and Vitalization Plan of Light Industry＂ has been issued by the State Council on May 18th in the government website. The plan puts forward the principles, targets, major tasks and related policies and measures of the adjustment and vitalization of light industry from 2009 to 2011.

For this purpose, we specially invite He Yanli, deputy director of the Department of Industrial Policies of NDRC, and Cao Pufang, deputy president of China Paper Association, to further interpret the Policies to help us accurately understand and firmly and earnestly implement all directives in the Policies and contribute for the strategic aim of forging a modernized paper industry in China with advanced equipment, cleaner production, coordinated development, sustainable growth, resources saving and recycling and orderly competition.

＂Cleaner Production Standard for Paper Industry （Wastepaper Pulping）＂ （HJ468 2009） Has Been Issued

For the implementation of the ＂Environmental Protection Law of People＇s Republic of China＂ and ＂ Cleaner Production Promotion Law of People＇s Republic of China ＂, protecting the en- vironment, providing technical support and guidance for paper industry and enterprises using waste paper carrying out cleaner production, ＂Cleaner Production Standard for Paper Industry （Wastepaper Pulping）＂ （HJ468--2009）has been issued by the Environmental Protection Department on March 25th, and gone into effect since July 1st, 2009.

Chinese Soybean Industry：Current Status and Outlook

This paper focus on the soybean resources and their industry development in China.Due to the high demand in domestic market,it is necessary to expand the cultivation area and improve the production yields.Meanwhile,to increase the export of soybeans from overseas is also important.China has a long history in producing traditional soybean foods.After recent fifty years,the development of Chinese soybean industry has reached to a reasonable level.The current status of Chinese soybean industry has been included in the paper.It has been expected that in next five years,there will be a rapid increase in the processing of soybeans;it will become more reasonable in the scale and distribution of soybean oil factories.Emphasis will be put on the improvement of the functionalities of soybean products.Different kinds of functional soybean foods,especially the soybean proteins for particular uses will be developed by the use of modification technologies.Concern is also given to the multi-utilization of soybean resources,which not only covers the extraction of oil from soybean seeds and the processing of protein products from the meal;but also includes the recovery of the natural phyto-chemicals from soybeans which could then be exploited to novel products with more profits.
